With the new Total Drama season (which is... good??? I really liked it? Didn't see that coming), and specifically after seeing the new intro (that song remix is still bad though), I've been having a glance at certain fan spaces and apparently there is Chref discourse? There are debates over whether Chref is problematic???

Guys. I don't mean to stumble in here and tell you what to do. Clearly I've not invested as much time in all this as you, I don’t wish to speak out of turn.

But it's fucking Chref.

Like... people don't ship Chris and Chef because they think it's cute or healthy or aspirational, right? Right? I thought it only existed because it's funny. They're both absolutely terrible. They screw each other over on the regular. They probably also screw on the regular. Chris has canonically fucked a plant. Chef used to sell people roadkill. They're brought together and stay together because of their shared love of literally torturing teenagers. When Chris tried to ask Chef out that one time, he was as awkward about it as a teenager. They go on vacation together. Chef does not want to hot tub by himself. They put a horribly injured contestant into a robot suit. Beth, of all people, had to give them couple's therapy. Chris has nearly killed Chef many, many times. Chef didn't visit Chris in prison, or let him fly the plane!

Also - and I cannot stress this enough - their ship name is Chref.
