She also was a witch. She put a spell on the king’s three children turning them into swans for 900 years. The spell was finally broken by the ringing of a bell and the coming of St. Patrick. When I was a little girl, swans were an obsession to me. Mostly caused by the fact that I was a wannabe dancer, and Swans Lake ballet was my top favourite. Then I grew up, and I learnt about the legend of the Children of Lir when I was discovering all I could about Ireland.
