Kundalini Tantra Talon Abraxas The Nadis
There is a subtle body underlying the physical body; it is also called the etheric or vital body. Just like nerve tracts traverse the physical body running from the head through the spinal column to all parts of the body, a network of lines of force runs through the subtle body as well. They form the basis around which the physical body is built and they give shape to it. These lines of force are called Nadis in the east; they enable the vital functions of the body. For lack of an appropriate term the Nadis are often translated as nerve tracts, but this is not correct. There is no equivalent word in German. Nadis are energy channels which by their nature are electric and distribute awareness on the etheric plane into every nook and corner of the body. They differ from the life-bearing channels whose seat is the heart, whereas the Nadis have their seat in the head and represent a dense network originating from the brain. In the course of the development of the body some of the Nadis condense to nerves, others remain subtle.
Since the Nadis are neither visible to the physical eye nor detectable anatomically they are not accepted by medical science. But yoga science points out that, by dissecting a magnet, its lines of force can also not be localised; nevertheless, they are effective, just like electro-magnetic waves. When the lines of force function well in the body, the body is also in good condition.
Ayurveda speaks of 72,000 major Nadis with numerous side lines. According to another way of counting there are 3,300 Nadis in the human body which are directed by 33 deva intelligences, each one directing 100 Nadis. In the body the Nadis form seven major centres, which resemble energy vortices and work through the endocrine glands. In the undeveloped state they resemble discs, chakras; in the unfolded state, lotuses. They are situated along the spinal column, from the head to the base. On the physical plane the spinal column is the central pillar of the body, and also in the subtle body the central energy channel runs through this pillar called Sushumna. Together with the lines of force of Ida and Pingala they form a triangle of forces which is connected with the three divine basic qualities, rays, colours and sounds, and exists in us as spirit, soul and matter.
We can visualise this triangle of Ida, Pingala and Sushumna as points on the forehead, Ida above the left eye, Pingala above the right eye, and in between runs Sushumna with its centre on the top at the hairline.
Ida is also called “Chandra Nadi”, the lunar Nadi, Pingala “Surya Nadi”, the solar Nadi, and Sushumna “Agni Nadi”, or the Nadi of fiery energy. The lunar energy works through the left eye, the solar energy through the right eye, and the activity of fire comes through the gap existing between the pineal gland and the pituitary. The three are also called the cosmic, the solar and the fire by friction or the three eyes of Shiva, and on the plane of the soul the three eyes of the World Mother.
The Three Currents
The energy current starts at the head centre. When coming down the one energy manifests as threefold. The one line conducts spirit, the other subtle matter. With the help of spirit it conducts the gradations of matter through all planes. We find the balance between both, spirit and matter, in Sushumna. During descent matter turns to the left current called Ida, and spirit to the right current, Pingala. The Ida channel causes the materialisation or formation, the Pingala channel spiritualisation or de-materialisation. Sushumna, the balancing energy between the two, causes apparent existence, which keeps the body in equilibrium.
The energy currents meet in the Ajna centre and cross in Sushumna. There they undergo the first inversion. They cross again at the throat centre and go through a second inversion. After a further inversion at the heart centre they finally meet at the Muladhara, the base centre. The deeper the energies come the more matter and its diversity prevail. Ida stands for diversity, Pingala for unity and Sushumna for synthesis. These three currents are often presented by a symbol of two serpents winding around a central rod. The rod is also called the magic rod of initiation. Sushumna becomes the magic rod when the link to the highest point is established and thus the iron rod becomes a magnet.
In India these three streams are also called Ganga, or Ganges, Yamuna and Sarasvathi. Ganges is regarded as Ida and Yamuna as Pingala. Ganges is more famous and is regarded by the Indians as the holiest of rivers, but Krishna is always found on the banks of Yamuna. Yamuna-Pingala gives spiritual experiences and the experience of the proximity of the Master and the ultimate presence of the Mother as Light. The colour of Pingala is honey colour, the transparent golden yellow colour. It is said that in the most advanced states the soul dances with Krishna, with the universal consciousness.
The soul dwells between the two holy rivers streaming from the subtle to the gross and from the gross to the subtle. It is said that at the confluence of Ganges and Yamuna a third, invisible stream supervenes; it is called Sarasvathi and represents Sushumna which manifests at the balanced meeting of the two other currents. The place of confluence was earlier called Prayaga and today Allahabad, the abode of Allah. In the scriptures it is said of this place that high initiates used to meet Lord Maitreya there who was meditating there. Even today this place of confluence is regarded as a very good place to take a bath and to meditate at dawn hours, in spite of pollution. The union about which is contemplated at the confluence lies in the Ajna centre which represents the region of Aquarius. When the energies meet, the Light shines forth.
The Radiant Line of Force
To obtain the balance of energies we can contemplate about inhalation and exhalation and feel the current of Sushumna as a pulsation in us, as flowing consciousness. This visualisation helps to lift up the mind beyond the outer world into inner consciousness. Within the spinal column there is the pillar of Sushumna, and in the most interior there is the essential energy of Atman as awareness and light. The radiant line of force is the abode of the soul, the central axis in us. It also corresponds to the axis of our planet. The electric consciousness flowing in the interior radiates in all rainbow colours, commencing from electric blue. The electric flow of consciousness is called Chitrini. It is the very core of our being. We cannot say that it belongs to us, but it is the most sublime part of the Self which we are.
The Path of Ascent
The upward path of Sushumna is also called Jacob’s ladder of ascent or the path of the Masters of Wisdom. The different centres from the base to the head centre are the steps of the ladder leading from the personality to the soul and to the super-soul. There is an opening to the ladder from the base of the spine; in olden times it was taken by Hatha Yoga through stimulation of Kundalini, although this is no more recommended today. The royal path of Yoga called Raja Yoga in Sanskrit, begins at the heart centre and ascends via the throat to the Ajna centre. The vertical movement of ascent brings all lotuses into a line. The path of ascent, Sushumna, is like a thread upon which all lotuses are stringed. The garland of golden lotuses decorates the disciple on the path, and when he reaches the head centre he is crowned there by the jewel in the lotus, Mani Padme. Thus he becomes a king in his kingdom.
The entire yoga practice of balancing energies is done in everyday life. In all fields of life balance has to be gained. Balance brings us back to the centre and enables the ascent. This is the golden middle path, where neither the left nor the right side is stressed. Moderate activity in all fields of life – family, profession, society, dealing with money and
other things – creates the basis for the ascent.
The heart centre is the door to inner existence. In the heart there is an opening and the holy sound of OM directs you into the inner chambers. We can visualise how with OM we move upwards along Sushumna and even beyond the head. This visualisation has to be trained; information alone doesn’t help. We use the OM like a light and imagine that we remain above the body, in the expanse of blue. When the vision becomes blurred we intonate again the OM. Thus we experience the OM within the column of Sushumna and also as a happening in space.

❥Rahu and Ketu Axis
Part 1
Tumblr media
Rahu and Ketu, the two nodes of moon, have always been a mystery for the astrologers. No matter how much you dig in to find information about them, they always fall short. It always feel like there is so much more about them, than what we have been taught or told.
There is whole story in Hindu mythology about how both Rahu and Ketu came into existence. The Vedic texts state that after a long and ferocious war between the gods and demons, they finally agreed to co-operate with each other and churn the ocean( which is called "Samudra Manthan") and whatever came out of it, was to be shared among the gods and demons. In the process of doing so, a nectar came out of the ocean, which was told to give immorality if it was drank. This made the Gods worried because the demons becoming immoral was no good to world and peace of it. Therefore, Lord Vishnu took the incarnation in the form of a beautiful damsel ‘Mohini‘ and tried to please and distract the asuras. On receiving the Amrit, Mohini came to Devas to distribute it to them.
Tumblr media
Svarbhanu,‘ one of the asuras, changed his appearance to a deva to obtain some portion of the Amrit. However, Surya (Sun) and the Chandra (Moon) realized that Svarbhanu was an Asura, not one of the devas. Knowing this, Lord Vishnu severed Svarbhanu’s head with his discus, the Sudarshan Charka. However, even though his head and body became separated, they remained immortal as a separate entity. Before his head was served, he managed to drink a drop of the nectar from the Amrit. The head is known as Rahu, and the headless body is the Ketu.
Since then, Rahu and Ketu constantly chase the Sun and the Moon for revenge as they are the cause of separating the head and body of the Asura Svarbhanu. It is a popular belief that when they succeed in catching Sun and Moon, they swallow them, causing Solar or Lunar eclipse, but they can’t hold them for long, and Sun and Moon emerge again intact as they also had nectar and are immortal

■Rahu in 1st and Ketu in 7th house : As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. Here, with Rahu in the 1st house, you will see that the person remains confused most of the times and they fail to take important decisions of life without the help of someone. If Rahu is making tight conjunction with the ascendant then, it can mean that the person is very popular in their community and they attract a lot of people towards them knowingly. It's like they know it that they are quite popular and they enjoy the fame that they get. But, you will see that this person will have self esteem issues a lot and they have been told from time to time to be confident about their abilities and capabilities. Also, many a times, others will see this as someone who is not genuine enough or someone who fakes a lot. In this life, they have to work a lot on themselves, their personality and how they come off to others. But, they always fall behind in doing so. Because ketu in 7th house, makes them extremely dependent on the people around them. For some, it can their romantic partners and for some it can be just the people that they adore and have a liking towards in a platonic way. But they do have an inclination towards doing things only after consulting. Even though they feel extremely comfortable in the 7th house but eventually they have to move on to 1st house and become an individual first. If they do not do this on their own, circumstances will make them do it and that too, in a hard way. They will be literally pushed to the 1st house. Also, their relationships( romantic or platonic) always have ups and downs because of how they choose not be themselves but they project an image that they think is suitable for a situation. It's just like how you cannot love the person in front of you unless you love and accept yourself. It's because of this reason that they fail in love and have to go through the same cycle again and again. You will also see that when they are too exhausted from the Rahu house, then they will hide themselves in the Ketu house and seek some comfort there.
Tumblr media
■Rahu in 2nd and Ketu in 8th house: As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. So, with this axis, you will notice that the person feels extremely comfortable with learning occult, psychology, tarot, astrology, etc. They like getting into things that are lesser known by people and have not been explored much. But there's a reason as to why they learn all these things, because the Rahu in the 2nd house needs all these things to succeed. Rahu here needs to self sufficient by doing things on their own or earning money on their own and therefore, all these things like psychology, tarot, etc. will help him to earn money on his own. This person is extremely good at managing money of his own as well of others because 8th house Ketu indicates the money and assets of other people. This person will be very good at financing jobs because he knows how to manage money. Someone who will make monthly budgets of others but they have tendency to spend for themselves a lot. Even though, they make budgets for others but they fail to do for themselves and that's what they have to achieve in this life. Also, this axis teaches them how they shouldn't be dependent on others to earn their livelihood. They have to become self sufficient. There's also a possibility that the in- laws taught them this because the 8th house indicates in-laws and inheritances, and this person will face problems regarding this things. Like delay in getting inheritance or maybe someone else took it away, teaching them how only the wealth that they created and earned on their own will come in handy. At the same time, you will see that if the family of this person does a particular type of profession/ business, then they will choose a whole different profession from that because they are someone who's meant to be different in this aspect. People will tell them how their whole family has( doctors) for example, and they chose to be a dancer?. Since 2nd house has the energy of Taurus, they will succeed in artistic professions, they can earn a lot in that type of business. Also, the family of this person will be very different from that of other families.
Tumblr media
■Rahu in 3rd and Ketu in 9th house: As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. This placement can indicate someone who is very courageous and strong headed. They are not taking sh*t from you unless they agree with you. Once they make up their mind, it's almost difficult to change it and there's a reason why they are like this. It's because they have researched well and devoted their time into what they think is correct. Ketu in 9th house makes them stay away from blindly following rules and regulations. They don't go for what seems to be true for others but they actually dive deep into what certain things work in the manner they are. Once they learn about it, they are now confident to face the world with their knowledge. Also, they don't have to put much time and efforts in researching about things and getting information because these are already what they have learnt and mastered in their last life. They are just remembering all of those and using them in their current life to achieve the goals of their present life. Also, since 3rd house is the Upachaya house meaning whatever planets you have in this house, they will start to benefit you as you grow, so Rahu in 3rd house will start giving you it's results with time depending upon the sign placement. You may not notice what exactly this Rahu is doing to you when you are quite young but with time, you will. Also, this Rahu will make you travel to different places especially short distance travels often, especially during Rahu mahadasa. You will see that during Rahu mahadasa, you may go for certain short distance trips related to higher studies or some spiritual practices or pilgrimages, a lot. Now, how you ketu in 9th house is actually helping your Rahu to achieve its goals, and this is how. Rahu in 3rd house shows self efforts and self acquired success, no one's gonna help you with it. You, yourself with whatever knowledge you have gathered with the help of ketu in 9th house, will help you with your Rahuian goals. But, you are restricted from believing anything straight out from the books. You have to understand why certain beliefs are out there for people. Once you do a thorough research, then that's when you will be able to achieve whatever you have to. This placement can also indicate ups and downs with father, meaning you don't interact much with them. Also, your belief in religion and spiritual may not be constant, like when you were young, you were very religious and when you grew up, you found those beliefs absurd for some reason, so you stopped believing in them.
Tumblr media
■Rahu in 4th and Ketu in 10th house: As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. Now, this placement can be very dynamic due to the involvement of Kendra houses( 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th house). Ketu in the 10th house makes you very dissatisfied of your job and the environment within which you are working. You will always feel the need to breakaway from it and do something that's not expected from you. The normal job rountine that everyone does makes you sick and you are always looking for bringing some dynamic changes in them. Also, the usual jobs or work that we hear about alway, will never make you feel peaceful. It's only when you do something that's different from what others are doing, you will find the long lost peace coming your way. The moment you walk far away from your home, you will find success in your job and mentally too. Staying away from home can be temporarily or permanently but yes, during that time, you will find a very core essence of yourself and you will relate to yourself at the most basic level. Also, due to ketu in 10th house, you will see how you never reveal about yourself in the public. Very few people will know who you exactly are. I have seen celebrities with this placement that just do their movies or dramas, and then do not come back in the public again until it's time for their new movie to come. They do not like facing the people again and again for no reason. With this, people may start having pre-conceived ideas about you or some may even say that you are kinda "fake" because what you saw out in the public, is not the real you. This one is kinda a theory but I have seen people with this placement may get married earlier than expected or may marry twice or thrice because of their need to build a family and provide them all the luxuries that they ask for. Also with this, your mom may have some unusual interest or hobbies and you were always intrigued by them. The home environment can be good or bad depending upon the planets influencing rahu and ketu and the houses but the environment was something that was not common for other people in the first place.
Tumblr media
■Rahu in 5th and Ketu in 11th house: As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. This axis is comparatively easy to handle as compared to those 1/7 or 4/10 axis. You will see a better flow of energies here. Rahu in 5th house makes this you someone who is liked by kids a lot because of how you behave or because of your nature. This is because kids are attracted to unusual and unique people, and you are the person who matches their vibes a lot. Many a times, kids will throw tantrum when they are made to stay away from you. Also, since 5th house rules pregnancy, there must have been something unusual when you were born or maybe when you will give birth. Mostly, I have seen babies who have been given birth through c-sections. Personally, my mom have this placement and I was born in very unusual circumstances. This placement makes some fantastic artists to name in the history. Like the ones, who becomes very notable in their field and are looked up by other newcomers, Narendra Modi( the prime minister of India) has this placement and man became one of my most popular politicians ever in India. Since, 5th house also rules early education in life, this can show that there were some trouble or break in early education. I have seen people saying with this placement that they were home-schooled, which can be another possibility. A bunch of things are there but not everything can be stated. Now, ketu in the 11th house makes you deprive of friends. You will see that your friends were obstacles in your life or career or they were jealous of you, so you had to cut them off in order to rise in your life. Your social circle is very small. The moment you cut off your unwanted friends, you will experience random kick of creativity in you. Also, many a times, you will not be able to connect on a deeper level with your friends. It's like if they serve your purpose and vice versa, it's all good for you. You don't expect much from them. You may not have much desires or wishes to be fulfilled. At times, you may also see yourself getting involved in humanitarian work and doing something for the society as a whole. If there are elder siblings, you may find yourself detached from them for some reason. It's like you two don't work out well together.
Tumblr media
■Rahu in 6th and Ketu in 12th house: As I already told above that Ketu is where you feel comfortable and Rahu is what you have to achieve in this life. Rahu in the 6th house makes you a very disciplined and strict person. Your schedules are totally different than what a normal person's schedule would like. Extremely hard on yourself if you couldn't meet the expectations that you set for yourself in a particular day or week. This house also indicates enemies, therefore, you will see that you will have a lot of enemies in your place of work. If you are not working, then it can also mean your school or college, but yes, you will have lots of people who will be jealous of you and they want to pull you down with them. But, the good thing is that, you will always win over your enemies and emerge out as a winner. No matter how many obstacles are thrown in your way, but you will cross them all, surely it will require lots of efforts on your side but you will overcome them with determination. 6th house also indicates diseases, therefore, you may feel that you have some sort of diseases but they are more of illusionary ones. In a more wider sense, that many a times, you will feel that you are suffering from some sort of disease but you are not able to comprehend what you are suffering from and even the doctors will find it hard to diagnose your disease. On the other hand, Ketu in the 12th house, makes you someone who finds it easy to let go of people when they don't serve you or they are hurting you. You will not be begging or crying in front of them when they are on the verge of leaving you. Yeah, there will be a feeling of sadness but not the extreme ones. This Ketu also makes you someone who spends money after giving lots of thought on it. You are not a over spender or someone who loses money. I have seen people with this placement, who gets random lost money of someone, especially if it is hidden by your family members, and you find them accidentally. Kinda lucky with that. Also, since 12th house is seen as a spiritual house( ruled by pisces) and 6th house is seen as practical house( being ruled by virgo) , you often feel the conflict between choosing a spiritual and practical life. You are mixture of both but find it difficult in choosing when to apply spirituality and when to apply practicality. At times, when you are done with your practical life of 6th house, you will go on random spritual travels to cool down the over-exploded energy of 6th house.

Skin tones
Some of these are based off research, the others are mostly my own headcanons. Wherever required, I shall try to give an explanation. There are some categories here:
"Krishna" tone: aka the dusky one, also called "Saawla rang"
Dark but not that dark: this tone is lighter than the 1st, but still dusky
Wheatish: not fair, not dark
Molten gold: In my terms, this complexion is fair, but with a slightly yellowish/golden tint
Rosy: This shade is fair too, but but has a milky and pinkish shade.
The exceptions: This one is kind of a surprise, idk where to include the ones present in this category
1. Krishna tone: Satyavati, Krishna, Arjun, Draupadi, Pradyumna, Shrutakarma
These ppl are here as they are clearly mentioned to have this skin tone. Sorry if I miss out anyone, do remind me, but these are the only ones who I can recall. Satyavati is probably a shade darker than the others, as one of her names is "Kali". Pradyumna's tone is not specified as per my knowledge, but he is said to look insanely similar to Krishna, so much that ppl mistook him for Krishna, he probably had the same skin tone. Shrutakarma is kinda obvious, both his parents are here, most likely he had the exact tone as them.
2. Dark but not dusky tone: Nakul, Yudhishthira, Kunti, Dhritrashtra, Bhishma, Shakuni, Shrutasena, Sutasoma
IDK, just felt that these ppl would fit. Kunti having a slightly dark tone suits, since Arjun needs to inherit that from somewhere.
3. Wheatish: Sahadeva, Ashwatthama, Drona, Duryodhana, Dushasana, Dhrishtadyumna, Satyaki
I always felt that Dhri must have had a lighter tone than Drau, so I put him here. Dury and Dushy are here because I headcanon them being similar in looks. Sahadeva is here so that Nakul cannot confuse others about their looks-
4. Molten gold: Subhadra, Madri, Gandhari, Duhshala, Vikarna, Amba, Ambika, Ambalika, Rukmini, Shatanika
If you see the statues at Jagannath Puri, Subhadra is colored yellow, so doesn't she suit this tone? IDK how to explain Molten gold and rosy, but it is def not the jaundice/cold type of fair, pls. The rest, idk why I just put them here, except Rukmini, she is Lakshmi, ofc her complexion is "golden".
5. Rosy: Balarama, Prativindhya, Uttara, Iravan
This one is so short, because I just could not think of anymore ppl. Balarama is clearly the fairest of his siblings, every single painting/Jagannath statue has him with white as his skin tone. Just imagine these ppls cheeks turning red just by a tiny pull-
6. The exceptions: Pandu, Karna, Abhimanyu
Ok so, now, for them, I shall be specific. All of these characters are most probably fair, but their complexion does not fit in any given category. Pandu is more yellow than molten gold, due to the jaundice.
Karna, IMO, had a molten gold complexion, but kinda like...the sun? I feel he had brownish hair, and very light skin, as if the sun's rays had hit him, if yk what I am trying to say- He is after all, sun's son.
Abhimanyu's complexion is rather specific: moon-like. WTF exactly is moon-like, is beyond me. Yes, in Sanskrit, it is called "Shashi-varna" or "Chandra-varna". Various ppl have been termed as this, like Ganesha and Krishna, but they are on the opposite sides regarding complexions.
There is a term called "as fair as the moon" used in various romantic literary works. Moon=fair has always been the context, mostly. Chandra Deva himself is always drawn as fair, unlike Shiva, Vishnu etc. I understood, that Abhimanyu had a fair complexion, but with a moon-like glow. So, probably, Karna and Abhimanyu's case is similar, but with context of the sun and moon respectively.
I hope I did not offend anyone, sorry If I did, it was not my intention.

Indra's About to Get His Ass Kicked
Swarga. Paradise. The abode of the gods, up in the heavens. It was filled with all sorts of wondrous things as far as the eye could see, and promised its inhabitants a safe and luxurious life, devoid of conflicts. There were wish fulfilling trees and flowers that never wilted, gemstones that granted what you thought and rivers of somarasa, the divine wine. Apsaras and gandharvas kept your senses entertained, while the companies of the gods and goddesses provided contentment to the mind and soul. Mortals too could access this plane of existence after death, provided they had earned enough merit on earth. All of this however was linked to its rulers, the king and queen of the gods, Indra and Shachi, god of rain and lightning and goddess of marriage, and right now, the world rejoiced at their merriment.
The divine couple were sitting in their private chamber, enjoying a performance by the apsaras, when their tranquility was thrown into chaos. Indra’s throne started shaking violently, and threw down its occupant on the floor in a big mess of jewels, fabric and wine. Stained with soma, and clearly furious and perplexed at this development, the king of the gods summoned his feared weapon, the Vajra, and stomped out to vaporize anyone who dared to do so.
Outside however, a storm raged. Palaces were crumbling and trees lay uprooted, the sky a dark so frightful that one might have thought the sun had gone out. The inhabitants of swarga shrieked and dodged the flying projectiles, otherwise so confident and content. Shyama and Sabal, Indra’s pet dogs who stood guard at heaven’s gates, came panting towards him, relaying their message in a series of barks. “Are you mad?!” Indra roared, even as his dogs whimpered and cowered. He then called forth Vayu, the god of wind, “Vayu, take your army of Maruts and give me a report on what’s happening. My dogs have apparently had wine as well!”
The forty-one gods came back a few minutes later, their faces stricken. “My lord, it’s a giant eagle! Its unlike anything we have ever seen! It’s approaching us with a frightening speed, and it seems intent on destroying Swarga!”
Still dumbfounded, the gods, led by Indra, approached their preceptor Brihaspati, lord of the planet Jupiter and god of wisdom. On reaching his abode however, they found him deep in meditation, unperturbed by the chaos around him.
“Gurudev, help us! The heavens are in trouble!” the devas cried.
Opening his eyes, Brihaspati then directly addressed Indra, “The Valakhilyas’ curse has come true Indra. Garuda, the son of Vinata and Kashyap, approaches Swarga in all earnest to claim your throne.”
The assembly went silent. After a beat, Indra gave a deafening laugh. “An eagle? That’s the mighty Indra of the Valakhilyas? And have you forgotten who I am, gurudev? I am the Slayer of Vritra and the Wielder of the Vajra! King of the gods and ruler of the sky! A puny eagle can’t defeat me!”
“I don’t think we should be overconfident Indra. Perhaps we should call forth the shakti army?” advised Agni, the god of fire.
The shakti army was the gods’ last resort, made up of all the goddesses in the world and led by the fearsome Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali themselves. They had come to their aid in the past against the asuras, and had even defeated the devas once in an epic episode where they had rallied around Goddess Parvati’s son Ganesha.
“He’s right Indra. Lord Kartikeya is away with the bulk of the army fighting the asuras. We should call forth the Shaktis.” Brihaspati said, agreeing with Agni.
“Rest assured Gurudev. Its nothing we can’t handle. Call forth Lord Surya and Lord Chandra, and send my son Jayanta to bring Lord Kartikeya. Today, the devas shall show the world their might!” Indra proclaimed, rallying his troops. The other gods, put at ease by their leader’s confidence, too gave shouts of victory and bravery, and started preparing for battle. Rolling his eyes, Brihaspati sent forth a silent prayer. “Narayana, please protect him from his folly.”

Effect Of Rahu Kaal (Rahu Kala) On Individuals.
Performing any religious rituals on Rahu Kaal is inauspicious. There will be no wedding festivities or prayer services during Rahu Kaal. The typical duration is 1.30 hours at sunrise and 1.30 hours at nightfall. Those who have a troublesome Rahu in their horoscope should exercise extra caution. For accurate advice, consult an astrologer.
Who Is Rahu?
Rahu, also known as "Svarbhanu," is a demon. Raa means hidden while "Raahu" also means terrifying.   He is a monster with a "severed" head who swallows the sun and moon, creating solar and lunar eclipses. He is a ruthless demon minister.
He is the Son of "Viprachitti" and "Simhika” - the Rakshasa.
However, Rahu plays an essential and inevitable part in how everything in the world works. He is the Almighty's preferred candidate to keep the universe in harmony and to continue ushering in change. Understanding Rahu, often known as "The Mighty One," and his significance is the key to wisdom.
Rahu's Story
According to the well-known tradition, the Devas and Asuras were divided into two camps after the Amrut-Manthan (the churning of the ocean to obtain nectar) process was complete. This was done to prevent any confusion or commotion on the part of the Asuras. Serving the nectar to the Devas and Asuras was Lord Vishnu's assignment when he assumed the shape of the Celestial Enchantress Mohini. The real goal was to consume all of the nectar before the Asuras took their turn. So, after revealing his plan, the Asura “Swarbhanu” disguised himself as a Deva and moved over to the camp of the Devas. He went and took a seat between “Chandra Dev and Surya Dev”.Suddenly, Surya and Chandra learned of Asura's cunning scheme and reported it.
Even though Lord Vishnu was already aware of Swarbhanu's true identity, it is said that he still permitted him to drink the nectar because he knew it was all already a part of the cosmic scheme and that, as a reward for his intense penance, Lord Brahma had already granted him a boon that gave him the authority and status of a planet.
Rahu lacks any physical structure. It is an imaginary planet.
The Relevance Of The Story.
Rahu would not care a lot about following norms and regulations. He prefers to constantly breach the law, cross societal norms, disregard traditions, query authority, and motivate problems for others. Rahu views the solar as his finest enemy because the sun is the authority, consequently, he consistently disdains and rebels in opposition to it. Rahu is regularly called the leader tormentor of the sun and Moon. Rahu is often referred to as the chief tormentor of the Sun and Moon. Rahu is regularly called the leader tormentor of the sun and Moon. The head of Rahu then continues and grudgingly attacks the Sun (while Ketu attacks the Moon) and is believed to swallow it, resulting in the "eclipse"
Rahu is similar to "Shani," and everyone is aware of it. Rahu possesses these characteristics because Shani is the one who administers the various punishments at some stage in our life.
What are the effects of the Rahu Dasha?
Only when starting businesses does Rahu Kaal apply. The dasha is active for 18 years of one's life.

Fear of authority figures and issues with some fixed assets and property may arise.
There are many barriers and difficulties in the route of advancement.
sudden loss of money and harm as a result of an accident.
poor nourishment and family members' deceit.
disputes with members of the local community.
A rise in the likelihood that close friends may lie to you)

Rahu Mahadasha Marriage
Marriage during the Rahu Mahadasha period will result in the loss of something—money, materialistic items, etc.—or an unfavourable event occurring on the day of the wedding, one must be extremely cautious and vigilant about their surroundings as well as their wealth. A Rahu Mahadasha does not support marriage as much as it might seem to do so because it promotes the concept of "being selfish" and "me, myself, and I." The Rahu Mahadasha has an eccentric and egotistical effect on its subject, rendering another person irrelevant. communication and engagement between the couples are essential in a marriage because it is a two-way street. To choose the best timing for your marriage, it is advised to speak with an astrologer.
What are the remedies for Rahu Dasha?
Place a gomed stone, some mishri, some urad daal, some silver, and thin white fabric on it. After that, simply bind the piece of cloth, bury it at your home's doorway, and let it be there, buried.
You can also donate Urad daal, sesame seeds, blue clothing, and a black wool blanket to the less fortunate and in need.
You can feed snakes with eggs and feed ants sugar.
Additionally, it is stated that reciting the Rahu mahamantra at least 324 times each day will benefit those who are going through this period.
To lessen the harmful impacts of Rahu, make some type of libation gifts to the Pitra or your ancestors.
Avoid naming your home after yourself and instead use the name of your ancestors or forefathers. Always choose the east side of your home to study, sit, and eat.
If a youngster in your family is affected by Rahu, you'll find that they don't listen to their elders and develop into nasty people.
All you need to do in these circumstances is ask the child :
On each Amavasya, bring four coconuts to the temple.
Ask the youngster to wear a small piece of white sandalwood that has been strung onto blue thread if they are unable to learn, are frequently scared, or are furious.
To their bathwater, add some Ashoka leaves and a few drops of wood oil or perfume.
Make sure the kid has dinner at the appropriate hour each night.
Insist the child feed the fish.
You could even let the child release some fish into a pond or body of water.
Give others coconuts on the child's behalf.
Make sure they consume coconuts and drink any variety of coconut water.
How to determine Rahu Kaal Today.
By dividing the number of hours between the astrological sunrise and sunset by 8, one can determine the Rahu Kaal (Rahu Kala). For instance, the length of Rahu kalam on a regular 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM day is 1.5 hours or 90 minutes (12 hours divided by 8).

Kaal Sarp Yoga/Dosha -Rahu in Hindu Mythology-story behind kaal sarp yoga
Rahu’s Birth
Simhika and Viprachitti gave birth to Rahu(also known as Swarnabhanu). Simhika also know as Simhita was daughter to Hiranyakashyap. Hiryanakashyap is an Asura (Devil) from the Puranic scriptures of Hinduism. Hiranyakashyap was killed by Prahalad who was a devotee of Lord Vishnu.
Rahu was given a status of a Planet by Lord Brahma.
Samudra Manthan
Long time back there used to be a Guru called Shukracharya. He was a Bhagwan Rishi who studied under Rishi Gautama. He hated Lord Vishnu, because Lord Vishnu had killed her mother for giving shelter to some Asura who Lord Vishnu was hunting. He performed tapasya (penance) to Lord Shiva and obtained the Sanjivni Mantra also known as Maha Mrityunjaya Mantra. Due to the hatred Shukra (Venus) bore towards Lord Vishnu, he decided to become the Guru of Asuras..
Tumblr media
Powered with Sanjivni Mantra, Shukra convinced Asuras to attack Devas. Shukra would bring back to life all Asuras who died in the War. Devas started loosing the battle and approached Lord Vishnu.
Vishnu then suggested all Devas to perform the Samudra Manthan, which would yield Amrita (Holy Nectar). Devas on drinking this Amrita would become Immortals.
The huge mountain, Mandara, was used as the pole to stir the waters. But as the pole entered the water it kept sliding into depths of the ocean. To stop this, Vishnu quickly transformed himself into a tortoise and placed the mountainon his back. This image of Vishnu as the tortoise was his second avatar called ‘Kurma.’
Once the pole was balanced, it was tied to the gigantic snake, Vasuki, and the Devas and Asuras started pulling it from either side. As the churning began and the massive waves whirled, an extremely poisonous drink called halahal came out. The gods became scared because this blue drink could destroy creation.
Tumblr media
They all got together and prayed to the powerful Shiva to help him them. Shiva appeared before all and gulped the entire poison. But, he did not swallow it. He kept the poison in his throat. Since then, Shiva’s throat became blue, and he became known as Neelkantha or the blue-throated one.
The churning continued and poured forth a number of gifts and treasures. They included Kamdhenu, the wish-fulfilling cow; the goddess of wealth, Laxmi; the wish-fulfilling tree, Kalpavriksha; and finally, came Dhanvantari carrying the pot of amrita and a book of medicine called Ayurveda.
Once the Amrita was out, Lord Vishnu disguised himself as Mohini, a dancer and took upon the responsibility of  distributing the Amrita among Devas and Asuras (who also helped in the Manthan process). For convenience of distribution, Mohini kept Asuras in one line and Devas in the other line. She tactfully offered to give Liquor to the Asuras in disguise of  Amrita. She kept offering Amrit to the Devas.
Seeing this, Swarbhanu (Rahu) suspected her and came to know the reality about Vishnu being Mohini. He disguised as one of the gods and sits in between Surya and Chandra to drink the Amrita. When Mohini was offering Amrita to Swarnbhanu, the sun and moon Devas recognised it to be a trick and complained to Mohini (Vishnu), who in turn, severed Swarnbhanu’s head with his Sudarshan Chakra. As Swarnbhanu had already consumed the Amrita, his head and torso became immortal. The head of Swarnbhanu is known as Rahu and the torso of Swarnabhanu is known as Ketu.
The Sun and Lunar Eclipse (Surya Grahan and Chandra Grahan)
The head of the Swarnabhanu (Rahu) fell on one side of Sun and the torso of Swarnbhanu (Ketu) fell on the other side of the Sun.
Sun being a responsible planet (In hindu astrology sun is a planet and not considered as a star), decided to stop his movement to keep Rahu from meeting Ketu. That is the reason in any astrology chart one will see Rahu and Ketu in 180 degrees placement from each other.
As an act of revenge, every now and then Rahu gobbles Sun or Moon; causing world to suffer from darkness as a result we witness Solar/Lunar eclipses. The headless trunk of Rahu came to be known as Ketu and since then Rahu has become the eighth planet and is considered in astrological formulations, Ketu being ninth.
Tumblr media
Kaal Sarp Yog
Rahu worshipped lord Shiva. Lord Shiva’s own son Ganpati has the similiar story where Lord Ganesha’s head was chopped off. Lord Shiva had given Lord Ganesha a head of an elephant.
Rahu asked Lord Shiva to give him a body and Ketu a Head. Lord Shiva took mercy on Rahu and blessed Rahu with the body of a snake and Ketu with the head of a snake.
If in someone’s birth chart all planets lie in between Ketu (the head of snake) and Rahu (the tail of snake), then this yog in Kundli is called Kaal Sarpa Yog.
Kaal Sarp Yog can be formed in any person’s horoscope like king, rich, president, prime-minister, peon, poor etc. and those who has Kaal Sarp Yog in their horoscope, instead of they have all kind of facilities but always suffer from any tension, fear, insecure. A person who has bitten by snake cannot sit comfortably like this a person who has Kaal Sarp Yog in his horoscope always fear from death.

33 crores Devi Devta nahi 33 Koti Devta
The concept of “33 crores Devi Devtas” in Hinduism is a concept that has been widely known to all. Also, this has been a much-debated topic among different scholars. And it has been found that the concept is completely misunderstood by many, as there has been a wrong interpretation of Vedic Sanskrit by some foreign scholars. The Atharva Veda, Yajur Veda, and Satapatha-brahmana define “trayastrimsati koti” as 33 gods. The term “koti” is a Sanskrit word that has two meanings; one is “crore” and second is “type”. Hence, it is in their translation that the mistake occurred, and instead of explaining Hinduism in terms of 33 supreme Gods, the concept of 33 crores of Gods came into existence.
Believing the Vedas there are 33 devas and they are classified under the following names:
Adityas/Solar deities
These are 12 in number and are personified deities that correspond to the 12 solar months. Each represents different features of social life. On Sankranti, when the sun changes the zodiac signs, these Adityas change their positions. The 12 Adityas along with their relative attribute are:
Shakra/Indra:  It is the eldest and the leader of the other 11 Adityas
Ansh: Due share
Aryaman: nobility
Bhaag: Due inheritance
Dhatri: ritual skill
Tvashtar: crafting skill
Mitra: Friendship
Ravi/Pushan: Prosperity
Parjanya/ Savitra: word power
Vivasan/ Surya: social law
Varun: fate
Vaman: the law of the cosmos
These all are known to be the protectors that guard and maintain the law. These Vedic Gods are believed to be pure and bright which erases darkness and spread light. Being 12 in number, these are also known as Dvadash Adityas.
Vasus
These are 8 in number and are known as the sub-deities of Indra. These categorical elemental Gods are representative of different aspects of Nature. And these are:
Dhara/ Prithvi ( Earth)
Anila/ Vayu (Wind)
Anal/Agni (Fire)
Prabhas/Surya (Dawn)
Antariksh/Dyaus (Space)
Apas/ Varuna (Water)
Dhruv/Nakshatra (Pole Star)
Soma/Chandra (Moon)
These are also known as Astha Vasu. The chakra system is related to the seven Vasu, and the eight Vasu Sun is eternal. The followings are the different chakras and the elements they are related with:
Mooladhara/ root chakra: associated with Prithvi/the Earth
Manipura/solar plexus chakra: associated with Agni/ the Fire
Agya, Ajna/ the third eye chakra: associated with Chandra/ the Moon
Swadhisthana/ the sacral chakra: associated with Varuna/ the Water
Sahasrara/ the crown chakra: associated with Nakshatras/ the Stars
Vishuddhi/ the throat chakra: associated with Akasha/ the Sky
Anahata/ the heart chakra: associated with Vayu/ the Wind
Rudras
These are 11 in number, which are explained differently by different schools of thought:
One of the prominent schools of thought believes Rudras to consist of:
5 names of shiva:
Isana(ruler)
Tatpurusa( that person)
Vamadeva( Pleasant god)
Aghora( not terrible)
Sadyojata( born at once)
5 abstractions:
Vijnana( knowledge)
Prana( life/breath)
Ananda( bliss)
Vac(speech)
Manas( thought)
1 Atma (spiritual self)
According to Brihadaranyaka Upanishad, the 11 Rudras are the ten vital energies or Rudra-Prana, in the body, and the last being the Atma, the soul. The following are the names assigned for Rudra-Prana:
Atha rodayanti
Tadyadrodayanti
AtmaikAdashas
Katame Rudra iti
TasmAdrudra iti(4)
Te yada.asmAchchharlrAnmartyAdutkrAmanty
Rudras have a vital role in the universal work and are the God of Gods, the one that lives in the hearts of gods and other beings. He is the universal lord and is being prayed for moksha (liberation). The Hanuman, Bhairava, Dhumwan, Tara, Baglamukh, Mahakal, Kamal, Chinnamastak, Shodash Srividyesh, and Bala Bhuvanesh, are all Lord Rudras incarnations. The term “Rud” means to weep. The human body constitutes of 10 organs: 5 karmendriyas( motor organs) and 5 gyanendriya( sense organs), with the mind being the 11th. All these in total are Rudra as when they all exit the body, they make people weep. There are some other schools of thought according to which there are 10 pranas and the 11th is the soul.
Ashwini
These are 2 in number. These Vedic Gods are known to be the only God’s physicians; they are the ones who blessed the sages with the knowledge of medicine and treatment. Even the Rig Veda mentions the Ashwins as the savior. Different ancient stories narrate them as vaidya, “life restorers”. In modern terms, they are equivalent to a doctor. There are different stories about their existence in ancient times. The Mahabharata times celebrated them as Nakul and Sahadev, the sons of Kunti (mother of Pandavas). These Vedic Gods are also called Nasatya, which means to return home safely.
Yet another story explains their existence as Ashwini Kumara, the sons of Ashwini. According to the story, the partner of Surya could not stand the heat of the Lord and hence took shelter in a forest. And to hide her identity, she started living there as a mare (female horse). She was blessed with twins in the jungle (the Ashwins), the sons of Lord Surya.
The sages or rishis who were considered to be awakened souls transmitted their knowledge to us through their writings. These writings were called Puranas, Vedas, Upanishads, etc. Atharva Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda, and Rig Veda are the four Vedas known to mankind. These are the root of the entire knowledge, wisdom, and logic. These texts constitute everything; from our evolution to the dissolution of the universe to the 33 Vedic Gods, one can know everything by reading the Vedas. They support the presence of 33 koti Gods and Goddesses, which is misinterpreted to be 33 crores Gods in Hinduism by some foreign scholars. So, there are 33 supreme Devi Devtas (11 Adityas+ 11 Rudras+8 Vasus+2 Ashwinis) that people worship and not 33 crores of Gods.

Amrita Talon Abraxas
Amrita is the nectar of immortality which was churned out of celestial ocean of milk (Kshherasagaram) by the Gods and demons. The story of getting Amrita is described in ancient Hindu scriptures. The legend has great importance in both ‘Shaivite’ and ‘Vaishnavite’ system of beliefs.
Myths of Amrita
Hindu texts explain amrita as an elixir, consumed by the Gods which made them eternal. According to the legends, four drops of the nectar fell upon earth at Ujjain, Prayag, Haridwar and Nasik. Once, there was continuous war between Gods and demons. The Gods were afraid of losing the battle. Lord Vishnu suggested them to churn the ocean of milk to get Amrita. By drinking Amrita, Gods will be immortal. Devas and Asuras (gods and demons) united their efforts to churn the ocean of milk in quest of Amrita. Gods were holding the tail of Vasuki while the demons were holding the side of the head of the serpent. Mandara Mountain was used as a churning stick and mythological serpent Vasuki was used as the churning rope.
Lord Vishnu took the form of his incarnation, ‘Koorma’ (tortoise) to hold the Mandara Mountain in place so that it does not sink into the ocean. Many precious things came out by churning the sea. Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth emerged from the ocean and also the moon God Chandra. The divine elephant Airavata came out which was occupied by king of God, Indra. After that emerged the precious stone, ‘Kaustuva’, which Lord Vishnu had put on his chest. After all these, came the dreaded poison, ‘Kalkoota’, which was so toxic that all the creation was about to destroy. Gods and demons appealed to Lord Shiva to save them from the fumes that the poison yielded. Lord Shiva consumed the poison to save the world and retained it in his throat, which turned blue due to the effect of the poison. Henceforth, Shiva is known as the name of 'Neelakantha' or 'Vishaapaharana Murthy'.
Devasand Asuras continued with the churning of ocean after their obstacles were overcome in quest of their ultimate goal, Amrita. Finally, they got their reward when the divine physician Dhanvantariemerged out of the ocean with a pot bearing the celestial nectar of immortality or Amrita. A fierce tussle followed between the Gods and the demons regarding who will have the share of Amrita. Again Lord Vishnu took the responsibility of protecting the God. He took the guise of a beautiful charming lady named Mohini. Mohini persuaded the Asuras with her charm and served all the Amrita or ambrosia to the Gods. Thus, Lord Vishnu saved the world from the calamity that was about to take place if the Asuras had attained immortality by drinking Amrita.
Two of the Asuras were aware of the trick of Mohini. They took the guise of Gods and got a dose of Amrita. Vishnu came to know the fact and when the Asuras had consumed only half the dose of Amrita, he proceeded to destroy them. The Demons took the form of Rahu and Ketu respectively. Rahu had snake's head and human body while Ketu had human head and snake's body. Vishnu destroyed Rahu's body but his head was saved due to consuming Amrita up to the throat. It is believed that Rahu is the cause of solar and lunar eclipse as he engulfs Sun and Moon because they could see him through his guise. Another legend tells that serpent Vasuki consumed the Amrita against the wishes of sun and moon and his body was split into two demons, Rahu and Ketu and thus they became permanent enemy of sun and moon causing the eclipse.

Shrapit Dosha – Its Effects and Remedies
Shrapit Dosha is a negative influence present in your horoscope. According to the best astrologer in India, This Dosha can cause many harmful effects in your life. However, there are remedial measures you can take to reduce its effects.
Shrapit Dosh Meaning and Its Impact :
Every jatak or Kundli has many different facets. Some of these may cause good effects in your life, while others might have a negative influence. A Dosha is a feature in your Kundli that causes bad effects.
 What is the Shrapit Dosha?
The Shrapit Dosha usually occurs when the planets Shani and Rahu are present in the same house in your horoscope. It can also be caused when Shani resides in a house from where he can aspect the house of Rahu. This Dosha occurs because of bad deeds done in past lives. Shrapit means “cursed”. So a curse acquired in a past life may also result in Shrapit Dosha.
Tumblr media
Shanishchara:
Shanaishchara, commonly known as Shani, is the son of Surya and Chaya Devi. The word Shanishchara means “one who moves slowly”.
Shani is the planet Saturn. The ancient Hindu astrologers made a pretty accurate calculation of the period of Saturn’s Sidereal Revolution – 10,765 days, just a few days off from the modern calculation of 10, 758 days.
Shani is a male deity with a sword or stick (Danda) in his hand. His vehicle is the crow.
 Rahu:
While seven of the navagrahas are physical celestial objects, two are not. Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets or Chaya Grahas. An asura called Swarbhanu posed as a Deva and consumed the Amrita being distributed by Mohini. However, Surya and Chandra identified him as an asura and pointed it out to Mohini who severed his head with the Sudarshan chakra. However, as he had consumed the Amritha, the head and body became immortal entities. The head became Rahu and the tail became Ketu.
Rahu and Ketu became shadow planets and were given the ability to influence the lives of people through their presence in the natal chart. In common belief, it is stated that eclipses are caused by Rahu and Ketu swallowing the Sun and the Moon periodically, in an everlasting feud as these two betrayed them to Mohini.
In Hindu astronomy, Rahu and Ketu actually symbolise the north lunar node and south lunar node respectively, coinciding with the intersection points of the sun and the moon as they travel around the celestial sphere. Eclipses occur on these points.
 Shrapit Dosha:
Through the eyes of the best astrologer in Kolkata, when Shani and Rahu come together in one house in the horoscope, or when Shani is able to directly affect Rahu’s house, conflicts arise. This is because Shani and Rahu are polar opposites in many ways. Shani is seen as the Lord of Justice among the planets. He lives within rules and limits. Rahu, on the other hand, is a rule-breaker, he wants to test the limits at all times.
 The Effects of Shrapit Dosha:
As there is an intrinsic conflict of viewpoints between these planets, Shrapit Dosha also results in conflicts and disagreements, among other effects:
Tumblr media
1.Delay in marriages.
2.Conflict within family.
4.Conflict between a married couple, frequent quarrels and disagreements.
4.Could lead to divorce.
5.Possibility of death of a spouse.
6.Difficulty in conceiving and having a child, frequent miscarriages.
7.Problems with the health of children.
8.Education and career growth of the native might also be affected.

The Vamana Avatar of Lord Vishnu
Tumblr media
Vamana is Lord Vishnu’s fifth avatar (incarnation), taking the form of a stunning young brahmin. He was the one who defeated the Asura King Mahabali and handed the Deva Loka back to Lord Indra.
Know more about Mahabali and Vamana Avatar. Get an online astrology consultation with a professional astrologer to find out the answers to all of your questions.
The narrative of King Mahabali and Vamana’s Vishnu avatar is told in the Shrimad Bhagavatam’s Eighth Canto.
Lord Vamana is associated with the planet Jupiter in the Bṛhat Parashar Hora Shastra, a work on Vedic astrology by Maharshi Parashar. Vamana serves as a metaphor for the wise person who is familiar with the cosmos.
Lord Vishnu's incarnation as Vamana
The powerful asura king Bali existed during the Satya Yuga, according to Shrimad Bhagavatam. The man was Prahalad’s grandson. He overthrew the deva king Lord Indra and took possession of Deva Loka. Aditi and Kashyap Muni, the parents of the Devas, were thrown off by this (demigods).
Aditi and Kashyap pleaded to Vishnu for his protection from the Asuras for their sons. Lord Vishnu appeared at Kashyap and his wife’s home via prayer and service. Then, Lord Vishnu manifested as the dwarf brahmana Vamana.
The great sages carried out all the required sacred rites after being pleased to view the manifestations of Vishnu. Vamana was initiated as a brahmin at the event, and Lord Surya spoke the Gayathri mantra while Brihaspati presented a sacred thread and Kashyap a grass belt.
He received a deerskin from Bhudevi (Mother Earth), and a brahma-danda, or brahmachari’s stick, from Chandra deva. He was given underwear by Mother Aditi, and an umbrella by the sky god.
The seven sages presented kusha grass to Lord Vamana, Maa Sarasvati brought a Rudraksha rosary, and Lord Brahma brought a pitcher of water. He was given a begging bowl by Lord Kuber, and Maa Bhagavati made the first offering.
The greatest of the Brahmacharis, Lord Vamana, welcomed and blessed everyone in attendance before revealing the brilliance of Brahman. He thus overshadowed the entire gathering, which was made up of outstanding saints and brahmins, with His beauty.

Mahabali and Vamana Avatar
Lord Vamana, who was renowned for his generosity, participated in the Yajna of King Mahabali. The kid Vamana was honored by the king when he arrived. He welcomed Him and announced that he wished to present Him with a gift. Back then, no Brahmin was ever turned away. Only three feet of land were requested by Vamana. Surprised, Mahabali asked Vamana to inquire further.
Mahabali’s Guru, Guru Shukracharya, was aware that this brahmin was not a regular individual. He understood that Lord Vishnu had assumed the shape of a brahmin kid to ruin Mahabali’s riches. Shukracharya started reprimanding his student for making a three-step land promise. According to him, Lord Vishnu was sent to trick Bali and rob him of all his wealth.
The earth, Mahabali said, could support the mass of hills and oceans but not the weight of a liar. Vamana’s prayer was therefore granted, and Trivikrama was created from the dwarf (giant form).
Lord Vamana put the entire cosmos under his feet in just two steps. Because there was no better available space, King Bali volunteered to place the third step atop his head. When Vamana was satisfied, he put the third step on his head and gave Bali permission to go to Patal Loka with the asuras’ army and establish authority there. Lord Indra reclaimed his Deva Loka or Swarga empire.
Lesson from Vamana Avatar According to Vamana, someone who lacks self-control would never be happy, even if they acquire all of the world’s wealth. However, someone who has self-control will always be happy. Even with a lot of money, those who prioritize material stuff are never happy.
Controlling our senses is important.
Lord Vamana reminded the King during the discussion between Vamana and Bali that to obtain true satisfaction in life, irrespective of worldly riches, one must be able to control their senses. True believers are always content with what they possess.
Truthfulness Lesson
Mahabali responded that he could not lie to the Brahman since the burden of a liar is too great for Mother Earth to bear when Shukracharya begged him to reject the commitment made to Vamana. One of the guiding principles of religion is sincerity. Vishnu restored dharma as a result of Mahabali’s honesty, and Bali remained in power as an Asura king.
Unwavering Devotion
Mahabali is a singular illustration of a believer who has given himself over to Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu occasionally sends us tribulations in the shape of hardship and adversity. A devotee might easily turn to the Divine in such a hopeless circumstance. When Lord Vishnu, on the other hand, grants us everything – wealth, strength, attraction, and wisdom – it turns into a far more serious challenge.
We must be careful not to become arrogant and misuse them. We can also recall the brilliance of the young brahmin kid Shri Vamana Deva in securing the “super-special mercy” required in such a circumstance.

Who was Sage Durvasa? How was it possible for him to be a part of both Ramayana and Mahabharata?
Who was Sage Durvasa? Let us know about him first. Durvasa (Sanskrit: दुर्वासा) also known as Durvasas (Sanskrit: दुर्वासस्), was an ancient Rishi, the son of Atri and Anasuya. He is known for his short temper. Hence, wherever he went, he was received with great reverence from humans and devas alike.
2.Sage Durvasa was born of the Great Sage Atri and his chaste wife Anasuya. Three sons were born of this sacred couple. Who were they? First, Chandra as the incarnation of Lord Brahma, the Creator was born; the second was the Lord Dattatreya {incarnation of mainly Lord Vishnu, the Sustainer] and the last one was none other than the Hero of our topic, i.e., Sage Durvasa [the incarnation of Rudra].
Incidentally, it may be pointed out that Sage Atri was named as such by the trinity as He did penance and meditation beyond the realms of three Gunas, viz., Satva, Thamasa and Rajo gunas. He was the inventor of Ayurveda. He also is endowed with performing of non-pareil achievements like transforming Himself as Sun and Moon when the whole world was drowned in darkness. He was the first and foremost, through his clairvoyance, to have known the existence of Rig Veda’s foremost, through his clairvoyance, to have known the existence of Rig Veda’s Śākala Shākha {Fifth Mandala (circle)] wherein the Indra Sthuti and Agni Stotram were found. It was, through him only, the whole world has come to know of the same. How did he decipher that? It was through his deep penetration of his wisdom through intensive meditation and penance. Śākala Shākha (Sanskrit:शाकल शाखा) is the oldest shakha ("branch" or "recension") of Rigveda. The Śākala tradition is mainly followed in Maharashtra. The Bashkala recension of the Rigveda has the Khilani which are not present in the Shakala text but is preserved in one Kashmir manuscript {now at Pune]. Please see the manuscript below:-
Durvasa was born of the Great Sage Atri when he was in the grip of uncontrollable energy and the result of his union with Anasuya resulted in the birth of Durvasa. Chapter 44 of the Brahmanda Purana contains a very interesting incident. It so happened that Shiva and his consort Parvati got entangled into a heated argument and witnessing the rage of Lord Shiva as a sequel to this quarrel, the Devas took to their heels. Later, realising the magnitude of his anger, Shiva decided to deposit the anger into Anasuya and out of this, sprouted the child Durvasa. Literally, it denotes one who is difficult to live with. Because of this, Durvasa had an irascible nature.
Why was he named like that? There is another interesting episode. Durvaasaa (it is a compound of Dur _ Vaasaa in Sanskrit]. He was about six months old and one day when Anasuya went to the river bank for fetching water and the Sage Atri (Sanskrit: अत्रि) was engaged in performance of Agni santhanam {i.e., daily rituals of homa or Agni worship), the child got thirsty as it was time for his mother’s breast-feeding. As he could not bear the thirst, he kicked off his legs in such a way that the Kamandal kept nearby was thrown off at some distance. Seeing the child being obstreperous, Sage Atri took out one {darbha-like grass] { meaning Dhurvaa in Sanskrit} and through it driblets of water were poured in. Now, the child was smiling as its thirst had been slaked.
Now, harking back to the issue, how Durvasa was a part of both Threthayuga (when Ramayana took place] and Dwaparayuga {when Mahabharatha took place]. Durvasa occupies a predominant position in the history of sages. When Sage Atri through his clairvoyance saw that the child’s anger, per se, will be a taboo for his life span, he immediately excogitated a plan whereby He turned the anger into a boon. He blessed the child that the more Durvasa curses, his life span will automatically increase. Hence, wherever he went, if he was not satisfied even to a little extent, he would immediately utter a curse. At the same time, his anger could be compared to that of the milk boiling in a vessel and when it is about to overflow, pouring of small drops of water would contain the boiling point. Similarly, Durvasa after venting his spleen, would calm down instantaneously and also suggest remedial measures to overcome his curse.
He has been a great part of both the Ramayan and the Mahabharat. He has caused many major incidents to unfold. Since he was a sage of higher order, it is quite possible for him to live much longer than lesser mortals. Not just in Ramayan (Treta Yug) or Mahabharata (Dwapar Yug), he was the reason for the famous incident of Sagar Manthan (Satya Yug) too, according to Padma Puran etc.
Sage Durvasa was not only the Sage to be the part of both Ramayana and Mahabharatha; but there are others as well.
Let’s see the list hereinfor:-
1.Vayu Deva. Father of both Hanuman and Bhima.
2.Mayasura He was the foster Father of Mandodari and in Mahabharat, he stays in Khandavaprasthak and Takhak is his friend. After destruction of Khandarvam (in Sanskrit) forest, at the behest of Lord Krishna and Arjuna, he built a beautiful palace for Pandavas and also gifted his mace to Bhima.
3.Maharshi Bharadwaj: In Ramayana, both Rama and Seeta stay at his Ashram. Bharatha and his large retinue was given a sumptuous feast. And, in Mahabharat, he is the Father of Dronacharya. Drona was not born from the womb but when the Sage Bharadwaj went to Ganges with his disciples fo a bath, he came across a beautiful Apsara and the Sage could not control his excitement and ejaculated the semen. This was preserved in a vessel made of leaf and Drona was born out of that.
4.Kubera, the Lord of Wealth and a friend of Lord Shiva. Once, he ruled Lanka and driven away by his half-brother, Ravana, he settled in Alaka in Himayalas. He is the son of Pulastya Prajapati and Idavida. He is stated to have been born of a cow.
5. Hanuman: No narration is needed of Lord Hanuman. In Ramayana, his role is impeccable and ineffable. In Mahabharat, he occupies the Flag of Chariot which Lord Krishna as charioteer with Arjuna. The Gitopadesa is imparted by the former to the latter in the battlefield. Hanuman also prevents Bhima when the latter goes in search of Saukandhika flowers for Draupadi.
6. Sage Parashuram: Being an Avatar of Lord Vishnu, he invites Rama for a fight. When Lord Rama breaks the Vishnu Bow, his ego against Kshatriyas is subdued and he apologises to Rama. Rama broke Pinaka {Shiva Bow) in Ramayana. In Mahabharat, Parashuram is the mentor of Bhishma, Drona and Karna.
7.Vibhishana: In Ramayana, he is the younger brother of Ravana and advises and pleads with his brother to return Sita to Rama. He is driven out of Lanka and takes refuge at the lotus feet of Lord Rama. In Mahabharat, Sahadeva, while on a mission to Lanka for the completion of Rajasuya Yajna, meets Vibhishana.
8. Agasthya Maharshi: In Ramayana, both Lord Rama and Sita meet the Sage and seek his benisons. At the battle field, he preaches Aditya Hridaya stotram to Lord Rama for winning the war. He also gives a divine bow and arrow to him. In Mahabharat, he advises Vindhya mountains against growing further till his return back so that the Sun, Moon, etc. could pass over easily.
9.Shakti Maharshi: He is the son of Sage Vashishta, who was the Preceptor to Dasaratha and Lord Rama thereafter. Shakthi is the Father of Parasara and grandfather of Sage Vyasa, author of Mahabharat, Bhagawad Gita and Vishnu Purana.
10. Finally, we have come to DURVASA: In Ramayana, the Sage, famous for short temperament, visits Ayodhya and insists on having an audience with Lord Rama. Lakshmana is guarding the place where Lord Yama is in private conversation with Lord Rama. Rama promises Lord Yama that if any one interrupts the meeting, he will be executed. Lakshmana, fearing the curse on Ayodhya which the Sage was to cast, intervenes in the midst and Rama asks his younger brother to leave him for ever which is equivalent to death. Lakshmana goes to the banks of River Sarayu and leaves for Vaikuntam through that river.
Sage Durvasa, an incarnation of Lord Shiva’s anger and also known for his short termper is not seen in Tretayuga and Dwaparayuga but also is seen in Satya Yuga. Albeit he was respected for his knowledge and wisdom, people were scared of him because of his short lived short temper. He has attained, through his meditation and penance, many powers and able to attain greater achievements by adhering to Ashtanga Yoga. Many such events of his life were remembered for centuries and he was the main cause of Lord Indra to lose his wealth and power.
In Mahabharata, the Sage gives boon to Kunti while she was a young girl who was deputised by her Father, Kunt Bhoja, to cater to the needs of the Sage. Due to that boon, not only Kunti but also Madri begets the Pandavas.
Now, harking back to the crux, Sage Durvasa lives through the Yugas (aeons) because of his yogic powers and siddhi obtained through rigorous austerities. It is no wonder for the Great Sages and Saints of yore to live through the Yugas as it is beyond the realms of imagination of the moral beings.
What does the term “Atri” mean? It denotes one who has reached the zenith of Triputi (त्रिपुटी) i.e., knower, knowing {the objet] and knowledge, i.e., the aggregate of agent, object and action.
11. Jambhavan: In Ramayana, everyone knows that he was the part of the Vanara Sena {Monkey Legion albeit he was a Bear]. He was instrumental in kindling the innate characteristics of Lord Hanuman which helped the latter to cross the ocean and reach Sri Lanka. In Mahabharat, he offers his Daughter Jambhavathi to Lord Krishna as also Shymanthakamani which was the cause of blame on Krishna.
