I wish to see more indian artist exploring indian concepts it makes me so sad when i see so few so i am gonna list sources that helped me in art, of course my art skills are average at best but i also started rly late to draw so i feel like if u r in your teens you would already have an edge and a lot of time to learn and if u r older and have been drawing for some time this will help in sharpening ur skills so here it goes
1.) Actually first thing i did was just draw panels of manga from artist i rly looked up to its controversial for a lot but imo it helps in not making your proportions wonky for example when we start out either the hand we draw is way to long for the body or torso is way too short like obviously starting out our art looks off so just copying from great artist at first helps in subconciously learning proportions, i see literal 13 year olds get good at art just because they copy and learn from their fav manga artists and everything so..
Later on when i found out about simplified pose drawings i started to draw them first and then over the top i drew the characters i was drawing, i am talking about these-

(Also taken from some japanese person) i started to draw these underneath and then draw the characters, so my art went from wonky to being bit more coherant, these are like shapes underneeath every human body and once you learn it, it makes human body a lot more simplified for you, i should give more examples-

Just search pose drawing or figure drawing and find them yourself, drawing these before you draw the actual body gives good idea about basic structure and it can help in drawing without reference when you have it all down. So like before i had to look at pages from manga to draw anything at all but once the basic shapes of human anatomy is down you dont have to look for every basic detail, if you know how neck connects to the body you wont have to stare at reference nonstop to get it down right so this is good in that way and almost every artist does this.
2.) Inspiration - Actually this is the first step because this is what rly inspires you to draw, it could be ideas or it could be artists whose art inspires you a lot. I will list some of my inspiration which got me or motivated me to be into art-

^I actually started to draw thanks to naruto only, i really liked how "good looking" characters looked like idk how else to explain it lol plus all the orange and blue in coloured cover pics also inspired me a lot and later i found out that orange and blue are harmonious together according to colour theory so🤷‍♀️ you find out things that are important instinctively once you have an inspiration like this and it gets ingrained you, otherwise imagine just memorizing what colour go good together instead you find it out yourself and develope a taste for it naturally imo

^ this @2964_ko from twitter, they are one of my earliar inspo and i think i dont need to explain why they are so inspiring i mean just look at their art..
You too might have some artist you rly like whose art gives you a great feeling or you get blown away by their art skill, it great to have inspiration and you should try to learn from them as much as you can, copying their art for your own self is also good as long as you dont pass off their idea and art as yours and do it as a learning experience, you may not become as great but even a little bit improvement goes long way doesnt it.
Some youtube channels that i would recomment for artists-
▪︎Coax illust - it's a korean artist who just draws digitally, also videos are in korean however the process is very good to see, it can teach you a lot how they paint skin and everything, watching great artist paint and draw is very usefull for learners
▪︎Proko- great art channel which is actually made to teach learners you will get all sorts of art help from this channel
▪︎Sinix design-
▪︎Artwod-
▪︎Moderndayjames- this one is actually animation related? But basics are same for almost all artists so great page still
▪︎Koizu-
▪︎Ethan becker- it mostly geared towards animators? But still helpful to almost all artist and the youtuber sort of has ironic sarcastic humour which is funny for me and a lot of other viewers but just a heads up and also very helpful tips regarding references and how to use them and all
▪︎Marc Brunet-
▪︎Marco Bucci-
▪︎Chris Hong Art-
▪︎Chommang drawing-
So these are the ones i feel like would be really helpfull if you are learning art.
Also if you already draw and you are one of those people who look up some art and then just draw it like full on copy and then post it i think you can change that a little bit, btw this thing is good if you are trying to learn from the said art and just want to recreate it without thinking of making anything or passing anything you make as your own, thats ok, but if you want to make something original it would be great to actually take inspo from more than one painting, for example, if you like the pose in some drawing then draw that pose BUT use colours inspired from some other artwork, it will actually help you learn faster and innovate a lot of things in your own, ( this is what i do too) there is nothing wrong from taking inspo and references however to stop being a copycat its important to take two or three inspo/ reference artowrk at once to create something orignal that is unique to you (almost every artist does it, either from irl or from different paintings), it will make you happy too.
Also it is said to draw from irl a lot because it makes big difference, i tried to do this but since i am kinda awkward it got bit difficult for me however if u can do it please do so.
This is all i wanted to say from all that i ve learned, i am still learning but i also want to see more upcoming indian artists who are into indian concepts and drawings and everything and i was kinda sad that its so few i mean the fault is in education system we dont get taught art from childhood like a lot of other countries so all we can do is take whats available and make do.
Of cource if you can afford to get an art tutor please do so that would actually be the best.
You can hmu if you got any questions i will try helpin anyway possible.
Thats alll pls create art❤❤❤
