Few weeks ago, we camped for couple of nights at Big4 Holiday Park Ledge Point WA, just to relax and unwind. The holiday park is at ~1.5 hrs drive north of Perth in the small town of Ledge Point. There's a nearby lookout providing bird eye view of the town, a golf course and the beach. C’est un petit reportage que nous avons vu à la télé qui nous a donné envie d’en savoir plus puis de partager avec vous cette belle idée.

Lisez le texte ci-dessous (extrait d’un journal local) puis regardez la vidéo ci-dessus, vous avez toutes les chances de trouver le concept amusant. Bien sûr, faut avoir une voiture mais tout le monde en a une (sauf nous) ! Et puis, pour les provinciaux, si vous faites des recherches sur Internet, vous allez sûrement trouver une société qui exploite des « BBQ Boat » près de chez vous. A notre avis, c’est quelque chose qui va se développer assez rapidement dans pas mal de coins en France. C’est sûr, il faut une rivière ou un fleuve calme. Les Gorges du Tarn, c’est pas l’idéal ou alors choisir l’option, « on mange à l’arrivée… » !

« BBQ BOAT » à Lagny : un barbecue, déjeuner ou apéro... sur un drôle de bateau

Une nouvelle activité a ouvert à Lagny-sur-Marne : les « BBQ Boat ». Sur ces bateaux ronds, on peut manger des brochettes, prendre un apéro ou un petit-déjeuner.

Depuis quelques semaines, ces bateaux en forme de donuts aux allures de soucoupe volante intriguent les passants des bords de Marne. Mais non, les extraterrestres n’ont pas débarqué à Lagny-sur-Marne. Ces drôles d’engins sont en fait… des « barbecues boat » ! Steve Renard, qui a créé cette activité, nous explique le concept.

« C’est un bateau sans permis que n’importe qui peut louer. On propose plusieurs formules. La plus originale, c’est le barbecue, mais on peut aussi prendre un apéro, un petit-déjeuner, un goûter… »

Ce passionné de navigation cherchait depuis quelques mois, un lieu pour installer sa nouvelle société « BBQ Boat 77 ». Et c’est à Lagny, qu’il a trouvé une oreille attentive.

Dans ces bateaux ronds, vous êtes le capitaine. Il y a même une casquette pour chacun !

C’est très simple à manipuler. Il suffit de tenir la barre pour se diriger, ensuite, ça marche comme une moto. La vitesse en moins toutefois. Ici, on ne dépasse pas les 5 km/h. Malgré tout, avant de laisser ses clients voguer sur la Marne, il prend une demi-heure pour leur expliquer le fonctionnement et les règles de sécurité. Gilets de sauvetage, couverture anti-feu, trousse de secours, tout est prévu en cas de pépin.

Barbecue, petit-déjeuner, apéro… sur l’eau

« Les gens se font leur programme ou leurs menus. On a déjà eu des réservations pour un anniversaire ; souffler ses bougies et manger une part de gâteau sur la Marne, c’est sympa ! », se réjouit l’entrepreneur. Ils ne sont pour l’instant pas très nombreux en France à avoir investi dans cette activité déjà très répandue en Guadeloupe et au Canada.

Steve, en tout cas, est confiant. « Il y a vraiment de la curiosité. Et puis, la variété des formules fait que chacun y trouve son compte », souligne-t-il depuis son petit chalet installé Quai Savarin, près de l’Office du Tourisme. Côté formule, il y a donc l’option barbecue. Ici, il est au gaz, le charbon est interdit et l’électrique ne plaît pas au gérant.

Si les clients peuvent choisir de ramener eux-mêmes leurs brochettes, ils peuvent aussi demander à Steve de tout prévoir.

« Je travaille avec les commerçants de Lagny. Là, une famille a demandé un plateau de fruits de mer. Le jour J, je ramène le bol rempli de glace et le poissonnier dispose le tout. D’autres voulaient un plateau de sushi, alors on l’a ajouté à la carte. De même pour la formule petit-déjeuner. Et les possibilités sont illimitées. Apéro, goûter… On est souple, il suffit de nous demander », invite le patron.

Observer la nature des bords de Marne

L’un des avantages des « BBQ Boat 77 », ce sont les moteurs électriques, silencieux et sans odeur. « On n’est que deux à proposer cela, explique Steve. Pour moi, c’était évident. C’est plus cher à l’achat, mais c’est l’avenir et ça ne fait pas de bruit. » Une fois en balade, il est vrai que la faune sauvage ne semble pas se préoccuper de notre présence et l’on peut observer à loisir les hérons cendrés et autres oiseaux qui peuplent les bords de Marne.

L’autonomie des bateaux permet largement de tenir les 4h (durée maximale de la balade). Il faut compter une bonne heure pour parcourir les 4 km jusqu’à la passerelle de Chessy.

« BBQ boat » : à réserver en avance

Pour réserver, mieux vaut prendre s’y prendre un peu en avance. « BBQ Boat 77 » restera ouvert jusqu’en octobre si le temps le permet et le planning se remplit vite.

Le dernier départ se fait à 20h pour un retour à 22h, à la tombée de la nuit. Dès que le soleil se couche, les bateaux s’éclairent grâce à leurs néons colorés.

« Je n’ai que de bons retours, c’est très détente, les gens se sentent en vacances », se félicite Steve. Et la saison n’est pas terminée !

Billie avait remplacée une collègue de la banque toute la semaine. Plutôt que d’être simple caissière comme d’habitude, elle avait ouvert des comptes et renseigner des clients qui avaient besoin d’une aide plus soutenue. C’était un travail très intéressant mais pour Billie il nécessitait beaucoup de concentration et d’être en constante adaptation.

Elle s’efforçait de ne pas laisser voir sa surdité. Plus d’un client ne voulait pas être servie par, selon eux, une handicapée. Elle travaillait d’arrache-pied pour avoir une belle carrière même si elle se doutait bien qu’elle allait plafonnée sous peu.

Le vendredi après-midi vers 16h, sa collègue et amie de la réception lui envoya un message par messagerie interne.

Une ouverture de compte était une procédure plutôt longue et prenait généralement près d’une heure si en plus le client voulait s’acheter une maison cela allait être encore plus long. Billie ne voulait pas prendre la chance de perdre un client. Si en plus il était sexy pourquoi pas.

Billie: Oui je vais le prendre. J’arrive dans 2 minutes. Elle passa rapidement aux toilettes. En arrivant à la réception, elle demanda son nom à la réceptionniste.

-James Syverson. Je peux lui dire de repasser lundi. Ça va te prendre des plombes. On est vendredi! On devait finir à 16h30.

-T’inquiète pas. Tu peux partir je vais fermer derrière toi, dit-elle en lui faisait un sourire. Elle lissa son blazer bleu marine sur sa camisole de dentelle crème et s’assura que son pantalon assorti tombait bien. Elle se redressa bien droite sur ses talons aiguilles multi-couleurs et bomba le torse. La réceptionniste leva les deux pouces.

Avec toute l’assurance que lui donnait son tailleur, elle s’approcha de la salle d’attente presque déserte. James Syverson attendait patiemment debout face à la fenêtre. Il avait les mains dans les poches de son pantalon gris. Les manches de son chandail noir étaient remontées sur ses avant-bras. Billie s’attarda un instant sur ses fesses magnifiquement musclées. Cet homme devait passer des jours entiers à la salle de musculation pour avoir ce physique. Il avait coupé ses cheveux depuis la dernière fois qu’elle l’avait vu.

« Ça suffit, c’est ton client pas un steak chez le boucher. »

--Monsieur Syverson?

Il se retourna et la reconnu instantanément. Son visage s'illumina d’un sourire. Elle lui sourit en retour en lui tendant la main. Elle se présenta à nouveau.

-Billie Morgan.

-Ravie de vous revoir Mademoiselle Morgan. Il prit sa petite main dans sa grande main chaude. Il avait gardé sa barbe fournie. Il était absolument à tomber par terre mais il rappelait toujours autant de mauvais souvenirs à Billie.

-Suivez-moi, je vais m’occuper de vous. Elle le précéda vers son bureau en essayant d’avoir l’air le plus naturel possible.

Sy regarda cette très jolie femme marcher devant lui en se déhanchant légèrement sur ses talons hauts et se demanda quel effet cela faisait de caresser ses belles fesses rondes. Il fit de très gros efforts pour se concentrer sur son dos et ses cheveux qui laissaient dans leur sillage un doux parfum de menthe et romarin.

Elle l’entraina dans un petit bureau et l’invita à s’asseoir, tandis qu’elle refermait la porte. Elle s’assit devant lui et posa son regard sur lui. Il prenait pratiquement tout l’espace disponible dans le bureau avec sa large carrure. Son regard était sûr mais Sy vit ses mains trembler légèrement. Elle était nerveuse.

-Alors Monsieur Syverson vous souhaitez ouvrir un compte et éventuellement acheter une maison?

-Oui. Appelle-moi Sy s’il te plait Monsieur Syverson c’est mon père. Lui dit-il avec un sourire. Ils venaient tout naturellement de passer au tutoiement plus personnel mais ça ne dérangeait pas Billie.

Elle baissa les yeux en souriant.

-D’accord. J’espère que tu as une bonne heure devant toi? On en a pour un bout de temps.

-Non. Ne t'inquiète pas.

Elle commençait à pianoter nerveusement sur son ordinateur puis s’arrêta.

-Je te sers un café, thé? Il hocha la tête.

-Oui un café s’il te plait. Noir.

Billie se releva et sortit. Elle en profita pour prendre plusieurs grandes respirations pendant que la cafetière infusait les deux tasses de café. C’était plus fort qu’elle chaque fois qu’elle le voyait, elle revoyait la scène dans le chalet.

« Putain Morgan calme toi. C’est un client, il ne va pas te manger. »

Elle revint un peu plus calme avec les deux tasses de café bouillantes. Elle le buvait noir elle aussi remarqua Sy. Il prit un petit une gorgée et la regarda au-dessus de sa tasse.

Ses mains tremblaient toujours pendant qu’elle prenait elle aussi une gorgée.

Durant l’heure qui suivit, elle lui fit presque subir un interrogatoire. Il venait de prendre sa retraite de l’armée et s’était fait muter dans le même poste de police que son frère comme capitaine. Il avait 35 ans. Elle sut qu’il conduisait un Ford F-150, qu’il louait un appartement dans un quartier non loin de chez elle. Elle déglutit avant de lui demander.

-Votre statut civil? Marié, célibataire…

-Divorcé. Célibataire. Billie se mordit le petit diamant sur sa lèvre inférieure en pianotait.

L’heure passa à toute vitesse. Finalement, Billie avait arrêté de tremblée et semblait beaucoup plus à l’aise. Syverson dégageait une énergie très forte mais très calme.

Quand elle sortit chercher des papiers, le regard de Sy tomba sur une photo sur le bureau. Elle était photographiée avec un petit chien. Un Jack Russell. Elle souriant encore de ce beau sourire éclatant.

Quand elle revint il lui demanda :

--C’est ton chien? En pointant la photo.

Elle hocha la tête en lui tendant les documents.

-Oui elle s’appelle Mia.

Il signa aux endroits indiqués.

-Elle ne doit pas manquer d’énergie! Tu fais comment pour la garder en appartement? J’ai un Akita américain. Il est en train de devenir fou en ville.

-J’ai une maison avec un grand jardin et puis il y a un parc à chien sur Tribeca street. Je l’emmène aussi courir tous les matins, sinon elle devient dingue et mange mes souliers! Sy se mit à rire.

Sans savoir elle venait de lui donner une mine d’informations sur elle.

-Tu vis dans le coin? Elle hocha la tête. Tu connais un bon restaurant, pour l’instant je n’en ai pas trouvé de bon, seulement des fast-food. Elle grimaça un peu, réfléchit et mordilla le petit diamant sur sa lèvre.

-Tous dépend de tes goûts! Il y a chez Mom’s qui a une bonne cuisine bio et Swartz qui fait des pizza maison à tomber par terre. Sinon la boulangerie de Donna fait les meilleurs sandwich et muffins de la ville, il y a quelques petits resto pubs sympa aussi… Tout dépend de toi.. Il y a aussi d’excellents BBQ selon Luke. Nous avons terminé Ty as-tu d’autres questions, sur tes finances? Je vais transmettre ton dossier pour approbation tu devrais avoir des nouvelles rapidement. Il se releva de tout son long.

-Non tout est parfait. Merci beaucoup. Il allait sortir mais se retourna. Je… voudrais t'inviter, tu as faim?

Malheureusement pour lui, il eut le réflexe de se frotter la moustache en parlant et Billie perdit ce qu’il lui demanda.

-Pardon?

Sy perdit son courage. Comment une si petite femme pouvait-il lui faire perdre tous ses moyens ?!

-As-tu un numéro de téléphone si jamais j’ai d’autres questions.

-Oui bien sûr. Elle ouvrit un tiroir et pris une petite carte de visite et griffonna son email professionnel dessus. Elle le lui tendit.

--Merci.

Elle le raccompagna à la porte de façon très professionnel et lui serra la main avant de le laisser partir.

-Bonne soirée mademoiselle Morgan.

-Bonne soirée Monsieur Syverson.

Sy partit vers son camion la tête pleine de ce petit bout de femme puis son téléphone sonne.

-Allo!

-Capitaine? Les Maladouchi ont recommencés, on a une nouvelle victime.

Sa bonne humeur s’envola presque.

-D’accord j’arrive.

Pendant ce temps de retour dans son bureau, Billie regarda son téléphone.

Jane : N’oublie pas l’essayage de ta robe!

-Fuck!

Elle avait totalement oublié ce stupide essayage de robe.

Elle ne prit même pas la peine de se changer, elle enleva simplement son épinglette de la banque sur le revers de son veston et sauta dans le premier taxi.

Vingt minutes plus tard, elle arrivait dans la très chic boutique de robe de mariée Signé Madame.

Luke voulait que sa femme soit la plus belle mariée, elle avait un budget illimité.

Elle accepta la flûte de champagne qu’on lui tendit et se dirigea vers le salon privé au fond de la salle. Jane et sa sœur Sara l’attendaient déjà. Jane fulminait.

-Ca fait une demi-heure qu’on t’attends qu’est ce que tu foutais?

-Désolée, j’ai eu une ouverture de compte à la dernière minute. Je ne pouvais pas décaler. Il était déjà dans la salle d’attente.

Jane vida sa coupe de champagne.

-Un homme ? Il en valait la peine au moins?

-Oui. C’était le capitaine de Luke, Ty. Il est…

Jane se mit à rire.

-Ty? Sy plutôt!

Elle écrivit les lettres sur la table avec son doigt.

-Merde ! Quelle conne! Je l’ai appelé comme ça toute la soirée!

Elle détestait se tromper de nom. Les deux filles étaient tordues de rire. Billie fulminait elle repoussa une mèche de cheveux dans son dos.

-Alors ces robes….

Dans une allée sombre non loin de là, Sy ne pensait plus à la jolie rousse. On avait découvert un nouveau corps. Une jeune femme. Une petite vingtaine d’années à en juger par ses vêtements plutôt ce qu’il en restait.

Sa robe courte était déchirée, laissant son corps mutilé exposé aux rats. On lui avait attaché les mains avec sa petite culotte, son ventre et son sexe était entièrement lacérés de fine entailles plus ou moins profondes mais le pire c’était son visage. Sy avait vu beaucoup de mort et de blessures impressionnante durant sa carrière militaire mais il fallait avouer que c’était horrible.

Sy se pencha sur la jeune femme. Elle avait des pétales de roses dans ses cheveux blond platine. On pourrait encore sentir son parfum de mauvaise qualité au-delà du sang.

-Encore une pauvre fille qui s’est fait enlever par les Maladouchi? Demanda Evans en prenant des photos.

-Probablement. Marco à laisser sa signature. Pointa Sy avec sa lampe de poche sur l’abdomen de la jeune femme.

Marco Maladouchi était un vrai malade. C’était le boucher de la famille. Sy n’arrivait pas à le coincé pour la torture des victimes de leur commerce. Ils enlevaient des jeunes femmes sans familles et les forçaient à se prostituer puis quand elles rapportaient moins d’argent, Marco les mutilait avant de les tuer à coup de batte. La famille était riche et puissante à New-York, les meilleurs avocats travaillaient pour eux.

Marco était atteint d’une déficience intellectuelle. Il ne pouvait être tenu responsable de ses crimes et les Maladouchi le savait. Sy le terrorisait littéralement mais il avait compris qu’il ne devait pas parler aux policiers.

Sy donna une grande claque sur la table.

-Pourquoi tu as fait ça Marco?

Marco se recroquevilla sur lui-même en tremblant. Un bip sonore prévint Sy de sortir de la pièce.

-Cet enculé refuse de parler. Luke avait les bras croisés et regardait le suspect au travers de la vitre sans teint.

-Tu le terrorise Capitaine. Il ne parlera pas. Tonton Alvaro est arrivé avec son bataillon d’avocat.

- Fais chier! Ils vont tuer combien de filles avant qu’on les arrête?

Marco fut libéré faute de preuves. Il n’avait pas laissé le moindre indice qui pouvait l’incriminer. Ils continuaient de tourner autour sans pouvoir mettre la main dessus.

JAJA - JOUR 2 - BAIE ST-PAUL - CREMAGLACE & BIERES

C’est le premier matin, une douce brume embaume la forêt autour. Ça sent tellement le confort ici.

Et 5 minutes plus tard... ça sent le café latté bien chaud et coulé dans mon vase de Hoch’lag. Je suis debout la première suivi de très près.

On petit déjeune à la bagette vec brie fondant aux pacanes caramélisées, ainsi qu’un choix de Baklava. Deux filles plutôt ‘Happy’’ !!

La journée s’organise mais quitter le chalet trop tôt ca ne nous tente pas vraiment, on est ici aussi pour en profiter, se reposer, écrire et continuer de tout se raconter, bien affaler sur le grand sofa avec musique de fond. Manu doit travailler un brin et moi je tapote mon clavier, j’écrirais toutes la journée des fois... Finalement, nous irons marcher le village de Baie St-Paul départ fin d’avant-midi avec un p’tit lunch ‘en cas’ le déjeuner ayant fait une bonne job !

Un petit arrêt sur un ‘lookout’ et on se fait une session de ‘Selfie’. J’peux juste pas imaginer de quoi on a l’air, vu de l’extérieur. Si on fait sourire tant mieux, nous autres on ne vous voit pas! Je me suis fait un chignon de grand-maman ce matin et là vraiment, il me tape sur les nerfs, c’est comme une motte ou une Smock comme dirait Manu!

Nous descendons la rue principalement animée de Baie St-Paul en s’arrêtant partout ou c’est ouvert. Les galeries d’art sont abondantes et nous y avons chacun un coup de cœur pour des toiles, mais ce n’est pas aujourd’hui que nous ferons ce genre d’achat. Je déniche quelques cadeaux pour la saison de Noël, comme lors de chacun de nos voyages. Artistique Baie St-Paul tu me charmes évidemment !!

Un temps d’arrêt pour manger un peu et nous retournons de l’autre coté de la rue apaiser toute notre curiosité dans d’autres boutiques Ce n’est pas bondé, la saison est tombante mais pour nous c’est notre temps préféré pour les vacances, Covid ou pas, on a toujours aimé mieux moins de monde, plus d’espace.

Arrêt gâterie! Oui! J'ai le goût d’une crèmaglace... Et là j’ai pas le choix la comptine me surprends en y goûtant ! 😜

Au retour, un arrêt dans un autre endroit avec point de vue superbe sur l’île aux coudres. Le ciel est blanc aujourd’hui, c’est moins impressionnant. Pourquoi pas d’autres selfies, du genre: Petite face, grosse face parce que nous n’avons pas de ‘selfie stick’

On rentre. Ce soir c’est dégustation de bières et repas BBQ. je suis occupée au grill et j’aime ça. La bière est bonne et plus précisément la ‘LAFONTAINE’. C’est une soirée parfaite dans la véranda....bla bla bla..

Je termine de profiter de l’extérieur seule dans le spa, c’est pas le dada à Manu. Tiens un selfie pour immortaliser ce full bonheur de bain... Cochonnerie d’appareil, qui fonctionne quand ça y tente... 22 prises, une photo poche!

Un selfie qui va me coûter cher en indulgence pour rentrer au paradis ! Bonne nuit xx

who hogs the duvet - This has a two part answer. When they first get together, and Hardy is at the stage of the relationship where he is too afraid to fart in bed for fear of scaring her off and he honestly cannot believe that Hannah is even in his bed, then it is Hannah who hogs the covers. He lays so still and anxious and praying that he won’t have another heart attack because Hannah Fucking Baxter is laying next to him. The longer they are together and the more comfortable he becomes in their relationship, the more easily sleep comes to him. Until finally one day, he’s like a freakin’ snoring log, and he wraps himself up in the blankets and poor Hannah hasn’t got a chance at recovering any of them. She just shrugs though and cuddles into his back to keep warm.

who texts/rings to check how their day is going - Look, Hardy would forget his head if it wasn’t attached to his body, especially when he is deep in an investigation. Hannah understands though and send him emojis and silly little texts throughout the day and a reminder to eat lunch. Hardy pretends to be annoyed, but he secretly loves it.

who’s the most creative when it comes to gifts - Hannah has a natural affinity for just finding the right gift for the right person for the right occasion. She doesn’t spend a lot of time thinking about it, but it’s always perfect. Hardy spends more time worrying and debating and really, really tries to be creative. More often than not he puts off buying things until the very last minute because he just cannot decide and then he scrambles to find an open shop and ultimately shows up with wine, flowers, chocolates, and a sheepish expression. There was that one time he surprised Hannah with a trip to the Maldives, though, that completely caught her off guard. (He noticed a pink bikini in her things, asked Miller the next morning where she thought a romantic beach destination might be, and voilà, one of the easiest…most romantic gifts of his life.)

who gets up first in the morning - Hardy. He often goes into work early and Hannah likes to snuggle in the warm spot he leaves behind.

who suggests new things in bed - Hannah. There is literally no other way to answer this question.

who cries at movies - Hardy. He is a soft boi wrapped in a prickly exterior, but give him Judy Hopps pinning a badge onto new police academy graduate, Nick Wilde, and he’s a blubbering mess.

who gives unprompted massages - At the beginning of their relationship, it was always Hannah. She’s sensuous and tactile. But over time, Hardy grows used to the touching and being touched in return and eventually he can give as good as he gets.

It takes a very long time and a lot of shagging to get him to a point where he isn’t afraid she is going to leave him. So, he does a lot of grin and baring it. He draws the line at someone touching her though. The first time it happens and he pushes someone up against a wall for groping her without her consent, she is so turned on, she drags him from the bar to the loo and fucks him (or lets him fuck her) against the door to the ladies.

who has the most embarrassing taste in music - Hannah. She listens to anything and everything. She sings off key and dances like a dork to make Hardy laugh. But she also has the best taste in music, and often uses it to set the mood at home.

who collects something unusual - Hannah. Have you seen her collection of sex toys? And while she may have gotten rid of a lot of things when they moved in together, her collection is still extensive.

who takes the longest to get ready - Have you met Hardy? Have you seen how he dresses? Okay, to be fair it used to take him a long time to decide what to wear when he was trying to impress Hannah at the beginning of their relationship. It didn’t take him very long to shower, shave and dress though. Hannah, on the other hand, has a routine™ that she keeps to almost every day. It is designed to slay, and slay she does.

who is the most tidy and organised - Hannah, it’s a throwback to when she needed to keep Hannah and Belle separate. She had a lot of personal rules for herself, and while many have been relaxed, that energy still comes out in how she keeps her things.

who gets most excited about the holidays - Hardy dreads the holidays because it almost always means more work for him. Inevitably some idiot does something stupid after over-indulging in eggnog and his time with his family is cut short. He does love having Daisy visit though. Hannah loves getting to spend the time with Alec and Daisy, but dreads having to visit her own family. If her mother doesn’t stop asking when she and Alec are going to have children of their own, she might just scream.

who is the big spoon/little spoon - At the beginning of the night, Alec starts off as the big spoon, but at some point during the night, they switch, and Alec wakes up most mornings with Hannah’s breasts pressed up against his back.

who gets most competitive when playing games and/or sports - Hardy doesn’t like to lose, either at work or at play, but he was unprepared for how all in Hannah goes when she decides she is going to win at something. It is easiest to just get out of her way.

who starts the most arguments - Hannah is very opinionated and isn’t afraid to tell Hardy when he’s being a pillock. Though when he is being particularly hard-headed, her favorite insult to lob at him is, “Miller is right, you are a knob!” After he has a chance to cool down, he reflects on what he’s done and will apologize if she has a point. If he stands by his actions, he usually ends up yelling at her as to why he acted like a knob (usually its because he loves his daughter or his friends or her) and then she throws herself at him and they have angry sex or make-up sex and by the time they’re done, neither remembers that they even had an argument.

who suggests that they buy a pet - Hardy thinks that Hannah might like the company during the day, so he suggests it, but Hannah really doesn’t want the responsibility of making sure an animal stays alive. She’s perfectly happy to flit about town as the desire strikes her or to go to the beach or when she’s missing Alec something fierce break out the toys she still has and take naughty pictures which she send to his mobile.

what couple traditions they have - they are a non-traditional couple and as such don’t put much stock in things that other couples might find important. Hardy tries to get home from work early on their anniversary, but it doesn’t always happen and it’s not a big deal to either of them. He will take her out for a nice dinner to celebrate, though sometimes it’s a week after the fact. Hannah tries to keep their sex life spicy and Hardy will go along with almost anything she throws at him. If she want to be blindfolded and have hot wax dripped on her, count him in. If she wants to play with handcuffs and riding crops and vibrators, well, ok if it makes her happy. If she gets drunk one night and orders a strap-on because “it’s hilarious, Alec,” he’ll let her peg him as long as Daisy’s not visiting at the time. And actually, he finds he enjoys it more than he expected he would, so she reserves it for use on special occasions. He comes to the realization that all those things he thought he was doing for her, she was doing for him, and so it really was all about them. And they are stronger for it.

what tv shows they watch together - Alec hates TV. He hates the news, he has reporters, he thinks those singing shows are shite. But the minute that he finds out Hannah’s book is being made into a TV show, he is mentally rearranging his schedule so that he is always home to watch it with her.

what other couple they hang out with - Miller and this bloke that Hannah introduced her to - he’s a screenwriter on her new show - divorces with two little mites of his own; also, Bambi and Byron come to visit twice a year.

how they spend time together as a couple - they do a lot of cuddling at home and shagging. They stroll along the river behind their chalet and sneak snogs along the way. They go to Miller’s for dinner and backyard bbqs in the summer. They go dancing, though Hardy hates it, Hannah can usually get him to at least join her on the dance floor for a few songs (as long as they’re slow and he can hold her close). Hannah adores going to wine and painting events, she can’t paint worth a damn and usually gives up on the still life before she finishes her first glass. There was that one time she decided straight away to paint Hardy in the buff, the instructor was scandalized by how large she’s made his cock (Hannah insists it’s to scale, Hardy refuses to discuss it). She hung it over their bed.

who made the first move - Hannah. Hardy nearly passed out when they first spoke. Ok, he may have been having a cardiac event, but Hannah got him to hospital, pretended to be his wife, and then when he gained consciousness berated him for not taking care of himself which scared the bejesus out of her as he collapse in front of her. In the end, he decided staying under the care of the doctor was better than checking himself out and having to deal with an angry Hannah. But as you can see, it all turned out all right for Alec.

who brings flowers home - Alec is the king of flowers (and wine and chocolate). Hannah never lets him live it down after Miller told her that story. But she still shags him silly whenever he comes home with them for her.

who is the best cook - Hannah. She tries and can usually follow a recipe. Alec thought microwaving tea was acceptable behavior.
