OC HALLOWEEN 2023 — DAY 3: DIFFERENT DECADE
originally released in the fall of '85, The Serpent was a supernatural horror movie following a group of misfit teens who accidentally get tangled in each other's lives after the murder of the son of a wealthy businessman. the movie discusses themes of love, grief, passion, and even includes some of the genre's first lgbtq+ characters. all of this caused the movie to become a beloved cult classic to this day.

The Bayford Manor has been home to ghosts long before Benjamin was even born. His grandfather dedicated his life to keeping the ghosts satiated and at bay, and once he dies this task falls on Benny’s shoulders. It’s a quiet and lonely life, but Benny bears it out of love, and to keep the memory of his grandfather alive.
Despite his attempts to fill the large house with companionship, the ghosts have always seemed to drive others away. That is until a stranger knocks on the door one late, stormy evening, seeking shelter. Benny, against his better judgement, grows fond of the stranger during that one long night. The stranger, for reasons unknown to Benny, seems determined to bear the haunting alongside Benny.

When Sweet Pea is finally chosen to go on a quest, he’s plain ecstatic about it. He has the whole thing perfectly planned - a perfect plan that includes the counselor of cabin nineteen. Even if Sweet Pea gets the idea that the boy really doesn’t like him. Tragically, for Sweet Pea, Benjamin Bayford had long ago decided to never go on a quest. Something about not wanting to upset the scales of fate, or so he said.
However, fate has a funny way of messing with Benny, and before he knows it he’s traveling halfway across America on a quest that he didn’t want to go on, with a boy he certainly doesn’t want to be with.

The Shadyside Serpents and Sunnyvale Bulldogs have hated each other for as long as any of them can remember, and the recent transfer of Jughead jones from Sunnyvale to Shadyside certainly did not help. When the teenagers are gathered together at Shadyside High for a memorial everyone figures it’s going to be a bloodbath—and they're not wrong.
When the curse of Sarah Fier once again rears it’s head the teenagers are forced to learn to work together in order to defeat the curse and save their own—and each other’s—lives.
