Went through the teen plushie liker plight of being made fun of for an impulse buy two seconds after and hating this guy for a while because of that but I've come around because look at that face. Look at that cloak and leaf hat. I'd let them curse my bloodline
oh this is fucking adorable. i didn't know a Wizard Celebi aesthetic even existed, unless this is unofficial—the only thing i remember was the thing they did for halloween one time. i like this. this is good. here have some nose ratings about it:

Can I request Organization XIII with a team of pokemon they would use?
Ohhhh!!! (Kanto to Alola, I can’t include the Galar Pokémon that were already revealed because I actively try to avoid everything about Sword and Shield until I hold the game in my own two hands)
Xemnas
He tends towards strong and impressive Pokémon
Of course, he’s aware that smaller Pokémon also have their merits, and he does have one or two in his team, but in general, he tends towards those that could easily scare his opponents
Team: Hydreigon, Tyranitar, Salamence, Garchomp, Zebstrika, Delphox
He has a few others at the castle, in case one from his main team gets hurt and needs replacing
If he could add a legendary to his team, he’d pick Necrozma
Xigbar
If Xigbar does his job right, his enemies won’t even know he’s there before they’re, well, dead
As such, his team is also mostly made up of either sneaky or long-range pokémon
Team: Umbreon, Sableye, Decidueye, Scolipede, Honchkrow, Noctowl
Back in the Castle, Xigbar has a Cutiefly - No one else knows about it, though
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Arceus (though he wouldn’t mind Yveltal or Darkrai either!)
Xaldin
Another one who prefers strong, impressive Pokémon
However, he isn’t as focused on them as Xemnas is; he prefers is team well-rounded
Team: Haxorus, Braviary, Nidoking, Nidoqueen, Drapion, Rhyperior
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Giratina
Vexen
Now, Vexen isn’t much of a fighter - He can fight, of course, but that’s not what he usually does
As such, he doesn’t need to rely on having a team that can fight. Instead, he has Pokémon that can either help with recon missions or in his research
Team: Abra, Stoutland, Malamar, Alolan Exeggutor, Eevee, Porygon-Z
He never really thought about which Legendary he’d add; however, he’d be very interested in Ultrabeasts and human-made or human-altered Pokémon (Mewtwu, Genesect, Magearna, Kyurem thanks to its ability to fuse with Zekrom/Reshiram)
Lexaeus
He prefers big, burly Pokémon, though for a different reason than Xemnas does
For one thing, he likes training with them, and the stronger his Pokémon, the better the effect
Second reason being that he is somewhat worried they might get hurt in a fight, and the more they can take, the more likely it is for them to make it through
Team: Kommo-o, Lucario, Tauros, Aegislash, Alolan Sandslash, Tyrantrum
While it doesn’t live at the castle, he’s managed to make friends with a Kangaskhan
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Groudon
Zexion
Now, Zexion is used to fighting from a distance while someone else is close-range and holds off the enemy
His team reflects that; mainly long-range Pokémon, with one or two to keep the enemy from getting closer
Team: Gallade, Decidueye, Florges, Chandelure, Gengar, Milotic
Back at the Castle, he has a Porygon2
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Hoopa
Saix
Axel tends to tease him that he should have a bunch of Fairy types, considering his affinity for the moon, but he prefers his team well-rounded
Berserk mode gives him, personally, a great offense; however, it also means he can’t really fight with his team, since he might risk hitting them in the process
His favorite tactic is to let his team wittle down his enemy’s stamina, then call them back and finish the opponent off
Team: Swampert, Mimikyu, Aurorus, Chesnaught, Miltank, Wobbuffet
He still has a Sylveon from his days as a Somebody; it refuses to battle for him, but it also refuses to leave
If he could any Legendary, he’d pick Lugia
Axel
In battle, Axel needs Pokémon who can, literally, take the heat; many of his attacks pretty much set the entire room on fire, and it’s easier if he doesn’t have to be careful
As such, most of his team is a Fire type, though he might have one or two from other types, too
Team: Ninetails, Flareon, Typhlosion, Toxapex, Incineroar, Rapidash
Back at the Castle, he’s got a Litten - And yes, it’s related to his Incineroar
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Entei
Demyx
So, Demyx doesn’t care too much about fighting, and his team reflects that
Instead, he pretty much just picks Pokémon he thinks are cool
Team: Loudred, Chatot, Wigglytuff, Primarina, Seviper, Alolan Raichu
That said, do not underestimate his team. It might not look as impressive as, say, Xemnas’s, but if need be, he can and does use it amazingly well in a battle
If he could add any Legendary to his team, he’d pick Suicune
Luxord
He has a thing for luck-based attacks - Be that due to low accuracy, high crit chance, or randomness like Metronome
That doesn’t mean his team has only that, but it’s noticeable
Team: Absol, Togetic, Persian, Crobat, Liepard, Meowstic
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick either Victini or Celebi
Marluxia
He has quite a few Pokémon, but seperates them into a battle team and a group which can help him in the garden
His battle team is pretty well-rounded, as he doesn’t focus on just one kind of Pokémon
Team: Espeon, Venusaur, Electivire, Altaria, Houndoom, Aggron
Garden Team: Diglett, Politoad, Spinarak
Also, he has an Espurr that he keeps as a pet
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Virizion
Larxene
Larxene isn’t one to pass up a fight; she can and will fight alongside her Pokémon
As such, she likes the ones that can match her preferred fighting style, which mainly relies on speed
(Outside of battle, she’s taken a liking to fluffy, cute Pokémon. But shh, don’t tell her I told ya!)
Team: Weavile, Crobat, Scyther, Luxray, Beedrill, Emolga
Back in the castle, she has a Glameow
If she could add any Legendary to her team, she’d pick Agoyon
Roxas
Since he’s one of the newest members, his team isn’t fully formed yet
In general though, he likes once that are kind of speedy and/or cool looking; plus, he tends towards first capturing a lot before he really focuses on training them
Team: Krokorok, Zebstrika, Totodile, Riolu, Ralts
If he could add any Legendary, he’d pick Celesteela, though he’d also love Silvally and Zeraora
Xion
Similar to Roxas, her team isn’t complete (or completely evolved) yet either
She prefers Pokémon that can support her or the team and/or give her opponent a disadvantage, and tends towards focus more on training the Pokémon she already has rather than catching new ones
Team: Bayleef, Sylveon, Roserade, Ribombee
If she could add any Legendary, she’d pick Jirachi

alright gamers here’s some #thoughts on a heroes/pokemon crossover (under a readmore because it’s a very long list. Like, you would not believe how much nonsense I have to say on this topic)
The voiceovers at the beginnings and endings of many episodes are about Pokémon evolution, how it differs from regular evolution, and so on
That being said, Mohinder is a Pokémon professor who specializes in studying evolution
Peter works in a Pokémon centre
Nathan is a member of the Unova Elite Four
Hiro and Ando work at Silph Co.
Instead of having a teddy bear collection, Claire has a Stufful she got from her father. It’s her favourite Pokémon
Whenever somebody uses their powers, it’s basically like a Pokémon move (“Peter used Mirror Move”, “Claire used Recover”, “Matt used Mind Reader”, etc.); they can run out of Power Points
“When destiny calls… you answer your Pokégear!”
The Company is actually a branch of Team Plasma (Plasma rather than any other evil team because Unova= America) and since “specials” can use Pokémon moves, the Company sees them as closer to Pokémon than humans and therefore want to “liberate” them from society
Arthur Petrelli’s power does extend to actual Pokémon moves as well; he used to have a job as a move deleter
The formula from volume three is basically a TM
When Peter jumps off the roof in season one, Nathan claims it was his Pidgoet that rescued him, not Nathan himself. However, Peter knows better because Nathan’s Pidgeot is currently at the Pokémon daycare
Actually, the way a lot of “specials” keep their powers a secret is by attributing their abilities to their Pokémon. For instance, Matt claims his Growlithe sniffed out Molly Walker when in fact he used Mind Reader
A surefire way to tell whether it’s Niki or Jessica: Niki has a Clefable; Jessica has a Gengar
The climax of season four takes place in Nimbasa City (since there’s a ferris wheel there)
Instead of fixing watches, Sylar used to work at a Pokéball factory
Rather than Mirror Move like Peter, Monica Dawson’s ability is more like Assist; she can only use moves that belong to the Pokémon on her team
Speaking of which, Peter can borrow moves from actual Pokémon as well. Sylar can’t, but on the upside, he isn’t limited by having only four move slots
*Paints Castelia City exploding* Isaac used Future Sight! Isaac foresaw an attack!
Since it doesn’t make as much sense for Daphne to call Hiro “Pikachu” if they’re in the Pokémon world, she instead calls him a twerp, a la Team Rocket from the anime
Matt’s turtle is a Tirtouga that he resurrected from a fossil which he found while wandering around in the desert
Mr. Muggles is a Lillipup; Sandra Bennet used to enter him in Pokémon contests
The Company uses a special kind of Pokéball called a Company Ball that’s not actually any different from a regular Pokéball but is black with a gold “Godsend” kanji on the front. In season one, Hiro thought he had to catch a Pokémon using a Company Ball in order to access his powers
Claire goes to the trainers’ school in Striaton City
Instead of the cello, Emma plays the Pokéflute
Tracy started out running an Ice-type gym but after season three she changed it to a Water-type gym
When the Company locks away a special, they confiscate their Pokémon as well and have them stored indefinitely in PC boxes. After the breakout in volume three, a couple main characters end up with Pokémon formerly belonging to these individuals—Peter ends up putting Jesse’s Loudred on his team, although it’s rather uncooperative and he eventually releases it
In season one, when Claire recorded herself trying to hurt herself & healing, she used a VS Recorder to do it. Normally a VS Recorder only records Pokémon, but since she was using a move (Recover) the VS Recorder registered it as a battle taking place
On a related note, Noah was able to track Sylar using a modified version of the Pokéfinder
Rather than finding Nathan’s body, Peter finds out about the whole “Sythan” ordeal because he finds a Yamask whose mask resembles Nathan’s face
Rather than accidentally shooting her, Peter and Isaac get into a Pokémon battle and Simone gets caught between energy blasts like Ash in Pokémon: The First Movie (but without the magic tears of life)
When Hiro is in the Feudal Era, Adam and Yaeko are amazed by the fact Hiro has a Pokémon team—Pokéballs didn’t exist back then
Micah uses his power to instantly fill out his Pokédex. He uses this information so he’ll be prepared for any rivals he comes across
Instead of torturing Sylar with a tuning fork, Mohinder tells his Minccino to use Echoed Voice. It’s super effective!
Noah isn‘t a trainer, but he borrows Pokémon from the Company to battle with when necessary
Claire has a Secret Base where she keeps all the Pokédolls Noah gets her. In later seasons, she spends a lot more time hiding away in it
Nathan, being a Gym Leader, is very much a competitive battler; he’ll disregard any Pokémon with poor IVs
Linderman is the boss of Team Rocket; if Niki doesn’t fully repay him, he’ll steal all her and her family’s Pokémon
Matt’s dad was one of the developers of the Entralink (because dreams)
At one point or another Hiro definitely teleports to the Ilex Forest and catches a Celebi
Tracy works at Pokéstar Studios
The formula Mohinder concocts in season 3 has the same properties as the Dubious Disk. He tests it on his Porygon-2, which evolves into Porygon-Z, and he takes this as a good sign
Remember that one time in the anime when Ash got turned into a Pikachu? That’s what Arthur Petrelli does to Hiro instead of scrambling his brain
Noah wants to keep Claire from having Pokémon battles–“why can’t you be a coordinator like your mother?”–but this only encourages her to train her team harder
When Meredith shows up with her level 85 Rapidash and level 87 Flareon, it’s a bit of a wake-up call for Claire: even if she constantly uses healing items on her team, they’ll keep taking damage from a burn affliction
Instead of just a bunch of pigeons (or Pidove) on the Deveaux building, it’s the location of the Pokémon daycare. Even though they’re not affiliated with the Pokémon centre, Peter still loves going up there to play with the Pokémon
The wall in the episode The Wall is UB-Wall; the episode ends when Peter and Sylar can defeat it in a double battle
Niki has a Kangaskhan that she spends most of season 1 thinking she doesn’t have the power to Mega Evolve, but in the finale she succeeds and fights side-by-side with Micah, who commands the baby Kangaskhan
Peter has a Rockruff that eventually evolves into a Midday Lycanroc. However, in every “bad” future, it’s instead in the Midnight form
During the early days of the study of specials, scientists tried to do things like capture them in Pokéballs
That being said, the corrupt desert camp in the 60s was branded as a Safari Zone
Isaac thinks he can only use Future Sight when he’s holding a Toxic Orb
The Burnt Toast Cafe is a Malasada shop (I guess that means Hiro is basically Hau? Accurate tbh)
From season three onwards, Micah has a Cubone on his team
Molly uses her power to find where wild Pokémon are hiding in the tall grass and avoid walking there
People who work for the Company or are prisoners of them aren’t allowed to have Pokémon, but Elle trains an Electabuzz in secret. When she and Sylar get together, she trades it to him in exchange for a Jolteon, and it evolves into Electivire
A lot of the side characters and characters without powers aren’t trainers. Ando doesn’t have any Pokémon of his own until the end of volume three, when he catches a Plusle that he uses to aid Hiro in double battles
In the Five Years Gone future, Niki has a Phantump on her team. Make of that what you will…
Throughout season one, Claire is reluctant to let her Pokémon evolve. At the start of season two, we see that she has evolved her Stufful into a Bewear and her Buneary into Lopunny
The first Pokémon Hiro ever caught was an Abra, which he never evolves (although it is evolved in the Five Years Gone future). In volume five, when he goes back in time to three years ago he trades it to Charlie. When he sees her as an old woman at the end of the show, she still has it, now as a Kadabra. She trades it back to him and it evolves into Alakazam
When one character dies, another will generally adopt their Pokémon. Peter puts Isaac’s Smeargle on his team, and later Nathan’s Unfezant; Matt keeps Daphne’s Accelgor and Crobat on his team; Meredith gives Claire her Torchic before she explodes; etc.
Tracy’ team is mostly ice and/or water-type, but her oldest Pokémon is a Wigglytuff that she doesn’t use in battle much, only as a companion
Bonus: everyone’s Pokémon teams at the start of the show and by the end
START:
Peter: Chansey, Eevee, Rockruff
Nathan: Pidgeot, Noctowl, Tailow, Staraptor, Braviary, Unfezant
Claire: Oricorio, Stufful, Buneary
Hiro: Pikachu, Abra
Matt: Growlithe, Turtwig, Slowpoke
Niki: Clefable, Gardevoir, Kangaskhan
DL: Haunter, Mismagius
Micah: Elekid
Mohinder: Porygon, Magnemite, Minchino
Angela: Persian, Gothorita, Munna
Sylar: Klink, Ditto
…And by the end:
Peter: Blissey, Sylveon, Lycanroc, Smeargle, Unfezant, Mew
Claire: Oricorio, Bewear, Lopunny, Ursaring, Blaziken, Delcatty
Hiro: Alolan Raichu, Alakazam, Celebi, Aegislash, Furret, Gyarados
Matt: Arcanine, Torterra, Grumpig, Tirtouga, Slowking, Hypno
Tracy: Wiggytuff, Frosslass, Lapras, Glaceon, Jellicent, Primarina
Micah: Electabuzz, Rotom, Marowak, Scrafty, Pancham
Mohinder: Porygon-Z, Magnezone, Minchino, Muk, Genesect
Angela: Persian, Gothitelle, Musharna, Xatu
Sylar: Klingklang, Ditto, Electivire, Umbreon, Zoroark, Mewtwo

Since the Gen VIII games are going to be Switch titles, I really, really, really want them to go the open world route, a la Breath of the Wild. There are a lot of reasons for this, not the least of which being that Breath of the Wild is the best game I’ve ever played, but I think that they have the potential to really do something incredible by combining Pokémon with an open world aspect, particularly since it would be a breath of fresh air for a series that has been strangled by linearity and restrictions in recent titles. (Particularly in Gen VII; when you’re not even allowed to visit the clothing shop in a city without progressing the plot first, there is a real and definite problem.)
With that said, we have to consider how Game Freak would craft a plot around an open world style game, since (unlike The Legend of Zelda) Pokémon is a role-playing game first and foremost, and therefore the story is actually important. While Nintendo crafts The Legend of Zelda titles around whatever gameplay mechanics they want to explore, Game Freak crafts Pokémon games around whatever themes they want to express. I can’t predict what theme Game Freak will try to explore next, but I can still try to find one that I think would fit an open world title . . . and to be honest, I think I have it:
Freedom of choice.
Part of the beauty of Breath of the Wild is that you could choose to experience the game however you wanted. There was no linearity; you could take on the Divine Beasts in any order. You could skip them entirely and, after the requisite beginning game tutorial (which doesn’t take that long at all and, to be honest, hardly even feels like a tutorial) rush straight to Hyrule Castle to face off against Calamity Ganon. Yes, you would likely die, but the point is that you can do it even if it isn’t wise. While I don’t think it would be possible to make a Pokémon game that open to the player’s whims, I think that Game Freak could still restore a lot of freedom back to the series, and perhaps even expand on the freedom that we experienced back in the first generation, when there was hardly any story, but we were rarely prevented from doing something if we so chose to do it. (In fact, the only notable barricades I can think of were the old man blocking your way until you delivered Oak’s parcel; the thirsty guards who refused to let you pass until you brought them a drink; and the Badge requirement for the League. Otherwise? You could pretty much go wherever, even if it meant you got stuck in Rock Tunnel for sixty years because your dumb ass went in there without HM05 Flash.)
With that in mind, I think that freedom of choice could be a really interesting concept to explore. Tying legendary pokémon to this might be a tad difficult, as I feel we already have series legendaries which sort of brush against this theme (e.g. the lake trio from Sinnoh have representatives for spirit and will, for instance). Then again, that hasn’t stopped them before. Celebi was associated with time before Dialga showed up, and Mew was supposedly the first ever pokémon until Arceus reared its head. They could probably create a legendary to represent freedom / choice if they wanted, although to be honest, I don’t think that’s necessary. In fact, it could be neat to not have a legendary at all . . . or if there is one, have it not be a legendary of choice, per se, but rather tie its involvement in the plot to the player’s choices.
To that end . . .
Obviously, though this would be open world, it’s still in the PokéWorld, and we aren’t doing any massive time jumps. Thus, we need to base this region on a place that would offer a lot of exploration. Personally, I think basing a region off a country like New Zealand would be excellent, but Australia could also work for something like this. Hell, if we’re being honest, even if the Midwest in the United States could work. God knows there’s nothing in the Midwest but a bunch of wilderness, flatlands, and some mountains, and while in the past I’ve thought that this is the reason why Game Freak will never base a region off the Midwest (versus how they based regions off Arizona, New York, and Hawaii), this could be the excuse they need. Whatever the case, everything is still modern; I’m not saying they should go for the Breath of the Wild aesthetic entirely, in which it’s post-apocalyptic and much has been lost in the way of technology. No, nothing like that; but this region, whatever it is, could still have a lot of wilderness. There’s a lot to explore, and for the first time in series history the camera follows behind your character’s back at all times, or at least you’re able to freely rotate the camera, much like in a Legend of Zelda game. Also for the first time in series history is the ability to call upon your pokémon at will, and to actually climb on and over things. And as for wild pokémon battles? No longer do you just stumble across one in a random encounter. Rather, as you traverse the landscape, you can actually see the wild pokémon around you. Get near enough, and a battle will start. I think having battle transitions a la Tales of Graces would work very well. (Trainer battles could still work the same way, although again, having smoother battle transitions would be nice, and would help with the immersion aspect.)
All of that said, that’s our setting. So what about our plot?
I think it would be interesting if, as I said, there was a lot more freedom given, and I think that could show in how the plot starts off. In this narrative, perhaps you, as the player character, have decided to go on an adventure. There is no professor here to help you. You have not been summoned, the professor doesn’t happen upon you---it’s quite possible that the regional professor doesn’t even know your name. Instead, you decide---entirely of your own volition---that you want to go adventuring that day. (Or maybe your mom prods you, who knows.) So you set out. The game doesn’t tell you where to go. There’s one exit out of town, but you have to wander that way yourself, rather than being guided by your hand. And once you leave the town, you see that there are three paths you can take:
One path leads down to a riverbend.
One path leads into a forest.
One path leads up to some mountains.
And this is how your starter is chosen. Rather than having three pokéballs set before you with the choice laid out for you to ruminate on, you’re instead given the option of choosing where you go, and where you go determines your starter. If you go to the river, you’ll find the water-type starter. If you go to the forest, you’ll get the grass-type starter. And if you go to the mountains, you’ll get the fire-type starter. (Or you can stay in the town forever and not get anything. Your choice.)
In a move similar to (but not the same as) Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, you befriend your starter after they rescue you from some disaster in the locale of your choice. If you go to the river, there’s a cutscene where your character falls into the river and perhaps gets caught in some rapids, and so the water-type starter saves them from drowning. If you go to the forest, there’s a cutscene where the player gets stuck in some bramble, and the grass-type starter helps them get free. If you go to the mountains, there’s a cutscene where the player character is either cornered by some other wild pokémon, or where rocks tumble down and almost crush the player, only for the fire-type starter to leap in and save them at the last moment (because while yes, fire is weak to rock, I have to believe that a strong blast could knock some rocks out of the way). The player wouldn’t have any pokéballs at this point, but perhaps after they get free and thank the pokémon that saved them, that pokémon deigns to follow them around. The player character is bemused, but they can’t tell this wild pokémon what to do, so the pokémon traverses the rest of the area with them, fighting other wild pokémon (on the player’s command) along the way. When the player leaves the area and returns back home, the pokémon follows . . . and upon returning to their house, the player’s mother gives them a pokéball to use, and tells them that hey, they’ve got their first pokémon now, isn’t that special? And that’s when you get to name it, because once you name it, it’s yours forever.
After that there would be a brief skip to the next day, wherein the player’s mother would tell them that, since they have a pokémon now, they should go on an actual adventure around the region. And the player decides, why not. There’s still no overall quest here, you’re not told what to do. If you want, you can just waste your life in the town. But now that you have a pokémon, you can explore, so . . .
Go do that.
I figure that, in a game like this, there still could be Gyms. (There could also be Trials similar to the Gen VII games, but for the love of everything, if that’s the case, then make the Trials actually indepth (akin to temples in The Legend of Zelda games), and knock it off with the linear hand-holding, I beg you.) But even if there are, the player is not at any point required to visit them. No longer will there be a level requirement for pokémon to obey you. Instead, it’s a friendship requirement. Pokémon tentatively place their trust in you upon their capture; should you treat them well, they’ll obey your commands and listen to you in battle regardless of how much you level them up / how many badges you have. However, should you mistreat them, they’ll become unruly and rebellious, refusing to battle for someone who would treat them so cruelly. Similarly, you can trade over high-level pokemon, but their disobedience at first isn’t because you don’t necessarily have the Badges to train them, but rather because they don’t know you and miss their old trainer (awkward if they’re your ‘mon from a previous game, but they don’t know that yet---you have to prove it to them). You have to spend time befriending them in order to make them want to battle alongside you. So in this way, the Gyms are no longer a requirement, and for that matter, neither is the League. You can do those things if you wish, but you don’t have to. It’s not mandatory.
So then, you wonder, what about the plot? Well, I think it would be interesting if, in a game about freedom of choice, we actually had multiple different endings this time around. Perhaps this game is less about being set on a path to see whatever story is laid out for you, and more about changing the direction of the story based on what you do. The fandom has been begging for a game where you can be the villain since 1996 / 1998, and perhaps this is the game where you don’t necessarily start out as the villain, but if you want to help the villains, you can. You’ll get a Bad End, but you can do it if you want.
Here’s the idea:
Over the course of your wandering around (and completing Gyms, probably, because it’s habitual for us by this point), you encounter numerous different characters, as per usual. You encounter characters such as whatever rivals you pick up, but you also encounter the villainous team, and whatever it is they’re doing. The only difference here is that while the villainous team is the villainous team, they don’t necessarily act that way to you. Instead, perhaps the Big Bad is actually quite affable. They’re cordial to you. They explain their motivations and, since they don’t see themselves as evil, they have no reason to be aggressive (at least, not when you first encounter them). They think that whatever they’re doing is for the benefit of everyone, and they hope that everyone can see that, you included.
And the thing is, you’re given the choice to see that.
At a certain point in the game, perhaps you’re given options to join up with (or at least assist) the villainous team. And unlike previous games where you could say “yes, please, let me help you” but then get told that you were being sarcastic even when you weren’t, this time, you’re taken at your word. You can help them. You can battle alongside them, against characters such as local Gym Leaders or even the regional Champion. You can take important items to whatever important location they need those items taken to. You can, if you choose to, assist them in whatever goal they have, and ultimately help them accomplish it, if that is what you want. Again, this being Pokémon, that would lead to a Bad End---but if you want that, if you want to see what will happen, you have that choice. You can do it.
Alternatively, of course, you can be the hero you’re so used to being. You can fight them at every turn, and as a result they’ll grow increasingly more aggressive toward you, until the affable gloves come off and they fight you for real, all the while saying how they thought you could see things their way, but no. Clearly you can’t.
And more alternatively still, perhaps we could get a bit of Undertale in here where you can have a route that is more neutral, where you sometimes help the villains and sometimes fight against them, all leading up to a neutral end where the villains don’t succeed, but perhaps not everyone is as happy as they could have been, either.
All of this is to say . . . Pokémon games don’t allow for multiple save files, and obviously no one would want to be locked into a Bad End. So perhaps, then, the mascot legendary (or one of them) has an association with time, like Celebi or Dialga. Perhaps the multiverse can be brought back for Gen VIII, and perhaps in these games it can be explained that the multiverse is really more like a bunch of different branching timelines. These separate universes are the way they are not because they were created as separate dimensions by some god, but rather because some significant choice was made along the way that resulted in the creation of a great big parallel world. The legendary pokémon of this generation (perhaps it’s one pokémon with multiple evolutions, like Cosmog) can traverse those different timelines at will, rather than being restricted to one timeline (a la Celebi), or simply being in charge of creating time (a la Dialga). Since this legendary pokémon can hop across the different timelines / parallel worlds at will (and since they can move along those timelines / worlds as they please), perhaps you befriend them, and so at the end of the game, if you don’t like the ending you received . . .
. . . if you want to see how things could be different . . .
. . . if you want to give it another go . . .
. . . you can battle that pokémon, and if you win, they’ll take you back in time to a point where your choices could still change your ending. The points would be predetermined, there would be some things you couldn’t undo (and note, if you choose this, any levels you gained or items you had after that point will be lost), but for the most part, you could rewind enough so that you can have a shot at a new ending without starting the game over from scratch. And, so long as you’re okay with losing certain things in your trip back through time, you could do this as many times as you pleased to see the different endings as many times as you like. It’s your choice, after all. It’s all up to you.
I think something like that would be very cool, as well as a fresh, new experience. Who knows what the villainous team’s goal would be (regional domination, or world devastation, who knows), but I also don’t think it would matter as much as the experience of getting to assist them with it, only to reset (as in, use the legendary) and stop them, only to reset and help them a little while ultimately stopping them, only to reset and . . . (bonus points if, like in Undertale, dialogue starts changing to reflect that they have some degree of awareness you’re doing this, while not full awareness of it. Things like, “I don’t know why, but I get the feeling we’ve been here before . . .) I think something like that would make for a very cool Pokémon game with tons of stuff to do, and it would really utilize an open world and all the themes surrounding it, but, well . . .
Probably what we’re going to get instead is another very linear game with tons of roadblocks and handholding.
Well, I can dream of better things, anyway.

Personalities that are badly explained sorry.
Mod Tk’s Legendaries! Also even more terrible explanations…
Like Star said, not all Legendaries/Mythicals are here. I’m adding humans, and there is one OC of my own.
F = Female. M = Male.
Moltres: SINnamon roll, quickly becoming a cinnamon roll. Is always warm and gives awesome hugs (very clingy). Please protect. In a Brotp with Reshiram and in an Ot3 (probably) with Reshiram and Groudon. M.
Reshiram: This guy is a hotheaded mess of insanity and possessiveness. IS EXTREMELY INSANE BUT CAN HOLD IT IN… sometimes. Likes to spoon people. Is very arrogant (especially to Pokémon who have a disadvantage to fire) and tends to show off his fire. Is also a huge sadist and has killed the majority of the Legendaries probably. M.
Zekrom: Kind of silent. Is more of a background character, really. But an important one. Is completely 100% done with Reshiram. M.
Kyurem: Often seen as emotionless. Also an important background character but has more inputs than Zekrom. Only gets arrogant/angry when there is someone he has an advantage over or when someone says they have better ice than him. M.
N (I DO NOT OWN THIS CHARACTER WHATSOEVER AND HE BELONGS TO POKÉMON!!!): A cinnamon roll. The only one Reshiram actually listens to properly and will not threaten. Please protect. Is trying hard to make friends but Reshiram is too possessive. M.
Xerneas: Salt™. Is very arrogant over healing abilities. Is actually a cinnamon roll and is very sad at times. Gives surprisingly good hugs?? Seems emotionless sometimes. M.
Yveltal: Lololol™. “Only living to annoy me.” - Xerneas. Is probably insane and will not hesitate to destroy you (you know… Yveltal’s the destruction Pokémon ;;). Is Xerneas’ main support source weirdly. Is good for hugging. M.
Zygarde: Obsesses over death and suicide way too much. Is confused a lot. Is silently extremely angsty regarding Aura Trio. Wants someone to do suicide with him. Xerneas wants him to stop. tHE AMOUNT OF TIMES HE’S BEEN REVIVED. M.
Giratina: Saltier than Xerneas™. Is done with Arceus so much oHMYGOD. Hides away in the Distortion World way too much. Hates many people… pretends to, anyway. M.
Palkia: He’s obsessed with aliens? Greets many space Pokémon(?) with open arms! Is such a cinnamon roll protect him right now. Under-rated. M.
Dialga: CELEBI, STOP, I AM TIME. Denies everything. More done (even compared to Giratina) with Arceus. Constantly goes back in time to find out secrets. Fails. Commonly known as ‘Done Dialga’ and probably has the best done expression. M.
Lunala: Is confused half the time, denies generally everything. Also questions everything. (Like Star said - we accidentally made a male Lunala and a female Solgaleo lolol. But we’re still destroying stereotypes so it doesn’t matter!). M.
Groudon: Your good ol’ classic hotheaded tsundere! Is extremely angry. Like, all the time. YELLS AND SWEARS WAY TOO MUCH LIKE STOP DUDE AND C H I L L. Can cook very well like omg Groudon hOw. Apparently hates everyone. Is very short and hates it sO MUCH. Only likes three people, maybe four. M.
Spark (ONCE AGAIN, THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO POKÉMON ENTIRELY AND I HOLD NO CREDIT WHATSOEVER.): Obsesses over electric types way too much. Very happy and optimistic! Protect him. IS THE DANKEST MEMELORD AROUND. Loves hugs so much omg. Are you sad? Here, have a hug! He might even buy you something… like food! Is silently Angst™ wtf Spark.
Harper (this character is my own, I created them with my own ideas!): Hated by many Legendaries, ESPECIALLY Reshiram. Commitment issues™. Often called emo for some reason? Says emo things. Oops. Actually needs love omg. Gets along with Spark and N. Scowls too much, hates too much, is bitter too much. Has an angsty backstory I think? F.
Arceus: IS AN ACTUAL MEME. Not as dank as Spark though of course. Very fond of Missingno. Is always willing to help! Constantly seeks Dialga’s praise, cries when there’s just Done Dialga instead. Very clingy and is always ready for a hug or even cuddles! Loves emojis. M.
Latios: Smol bean. Dense at times, often confused. Sometimes possessive. It honestly depends. Is honestly?? so?? good???? to?? hug????? Likes to fly around a lot. Has trust issues so is kind of angsty™. Was once forgotten about for a long time. Very bitter. M.
Latias: Angst™. Pretends to be nice, usually gets away with it. Has a very awkward background with Latios, both of them don’t like talking about it. Kind of a background character?? F.
Entei: MUM™. Fusses over literally everyone. Is often viewed as a background character. Extremely under-appreciated. Likes to bake cookies. Is very strict and forces anti-social people to be social… nO MATTER WHAT. Very comforting and gives good advice! Gives a m a z i n g hugs omg. M.
Xurkitree: Narcissist™. Kind of sad backstory, it’s a long story. Bitter. Salty at times. Likes annoying people that have disadvantages to him. Gangly limbs that give really good comforting hugs! Probs has a praise kink sorry. Praise him? HE WILL STOP INSULTING YOU AND WILL BECOME YOUR BEST FRIEND. M.
Necrozma: Extremely low self-esteem. Is often thrown in the shadows of the Ultra Beasts but doesn’t care! Cinnamon roll most of the time. Is also under-appreciated probably. M.
Nihilego: LOVES HUMANS SO MUCH. hOw DiD tHeY gEt So FaR bY tHeMsElF tHo? Nihilego, stop. Likes to act like a girl, sometimes gets away it. Acts innocent, is a sin. M (destroying stereotypes 101).
Celesteela: COMPLETELY 100% DONE WITH XURKITREE. Very tall. Very done. Not as done as Dialga tho. Very close. xUrKiTrEe PlEaSe StOp BeInG aN aRrOgAnT pIeCe Of-. F.
Regice: Is blind. Like, literally. Blind as in cannot see AT ALL. Doesn’t act like it though? Like, you sure you’re blind?????? Acts like he can see. He genuinely can’t though. Comes off as emotionless, is actual emotional. REALLY LIKES TO ANNOY KYUREM. “I’m the best ice type BECAUSE I LITERALLY HAVE ICE IN MY NAME.” Is a good person sometimes and likes hugs. Quietly possessive. M.
Once again, not all Legendaries and Mythicals are here! I know I have more male characters than female lolol. We have both added Ultra Beasts, even though not all are here. We might be adding more in the future!

Mod name: :v OOC Contact: Tumblr IM; but if we’re mutuals I’ll give you my discord! I have Skype too, but I don’t really use it much.
Tumblr media
WHO IS HE:
Professor Oak is a renowned Pokémon Professor most notably known for his invention of the Pokédex, his Welcome To The World of Pokémon! lecture / documentary and his extensive research surrounding the relationships between pokémon and people. He’s a very recognizable icon in the pokéworld; it would be impossible not to know who he is.
Alternatively, while he’s mostly known for being a scientist, he has wide recognition for his Pokémon poetry. He also does regular recordings with DJ Mary at Goldenrod Radio Tower.
The Professor resides in Pallet Town, Kanto, in one of the world’s most impressive laboratory reserve - stretching across acres upon acres of land, built entirely to replicate all types of pokémon’s natural habitats and terrains.
As a former pokémon trainer ( as well as Kanto Champion ), he has one grandson, Gary Oak, who is also former pokémon trainer, but is now currently on the path to becoming a Scientist himself, specializing in fossil revival.
Points of interest:
My portrayal of Professor Oak is mostly anime-based. This means I do not consider game function as canon or as character trait (ex. Professor Oak forgetting his grandson’s name. I have heard this joke enough to last me a lifetime, please Don’t™.) However, I include some elements of the manga/game, I guess, but usually only to fill in the many gaps untouched in the anime. With that being said, Green / Blue / Red and even Daisy do not exist. I have exceptions of interactions with some people, but it does not fall under my Main Canon and is more of some weird, blended AU, lol.
Professor Oak is a 50+ year old man. On top of that, a parent and a grandparent. Because of this, most of the time ( not always ) he will naturally be more intuitive and perceptive to situations than a younger muse might be. He has had many, many life experiences to draw from that he applies to current context; empathizing and offering advice comes easy. With that being said, please communicate with me if I’ve crossed a line with this; I won’t take offense!
Professor Oak has interacted with legendary Pokémon. See: Celebi, ft. Suicune. Professor Oak is not immune to... strange occurrences. He’s interacted with the legendary pokémon Celebi ( and Suicune ) when he was a young boy. However, I portray this muse as someone that has seen much more ( of the unexplainable, not necessarily legendaries ), yet appreciates them within the comfort of his own privacy.
Professor Oak has very high public status! While the man certainly lives his life as a regular person, his life is anything but. Hailing from Kanto and living peacefully in Pallet Town, Samuel’s demeanor is very humble, but his Net Worth is one of the highest, given his important influence, multi-faceted popularity and on-going relevancy among the citizens of the poké-universe. It goes without saying that he has made some of the most important contributions to the field of science and world of pokémon, but he is also sort of a pop culture “idol”. His name is attached to hundreds of awards, recognitions, lifetime achievements, entertainment achievements. Whatever there is to do, Professor Oak does it all: Scientist, Writer, Artist, Humanitarian, Pokémon Professor, TV Host, Radio Host, University Lecturer, Motivational Speaker, Activist, League Advisor, Parent. There is nothing he won’t dive into if it’s for the greater good.  List of Awards: here.
What they’ve been up to recently:
*POST-CANON. Same ol’, same ol’. Professor Oak has many years left in him yet! You can still find him on his happy little hill in Pallet Town doing what he does best: giving trainers their starters, and babysitting those same 9482536 kids under his care. Including, but not limited to all the 3948357927682294 pokémon he and - everyone’s favorite personal assistant son - Tracey Sketchit share responsibility for. His life will pretty much be the same, as it has been; the perks of being old and well-adjusted.  *I use ‘post canon’ loosely. My default timeline is ongoing with the show itself, but since time never seems to progress, I’ve taken it upon myself to lazily assume some years have passed since S1E1 ( hence why I say Oak is 50+ rather than actually 50 ).
MULTI-VERSE. If you are a non-pokémon muse, Professor Oak will happily accept that you’re simply not someone from his universe. As mentioned above, stranger things have happened to him. Because of his own experiences, he’s very open-minded about the possibilities the universe has up it’s sleeve. I like to think of his corral and his lab are portal spots for the unknown to materialize. Maybe a point deep in the mountain and forest terrain. Or perhaps from the forest ( between Kanto and Johto ) where Celebi dwells. This concept isn’t necessary to follow for the multi-verse, just a suggestion! TL;DR Let Professor Oak be your away-from-home grandpa, he has lots of Experience™.
Where to find them:
DEFAULT VERSE. There are a lot of places to find the ever-active Professor Oak. However, the top three most common places are: his research lab ( corral included ) in Pallet Town, Kanto, Goldenrod Radio Tower, and Celadon University. Because he is so famous, he can be anywhere, though. Whether it’s doing charity work, raising awareness, doing lectures, being a guest at internships, working with media across regions, visiting other pokémon professors, being on a much needed vacation, traveling for work. Pretty much, wherever your muse is, I can find a reason for Professor Oak to be there.
POST-COLLEGE. I don’t actually have a ‘verse’ for this but it takes place shortly after Samuel finishes grad school and takes position as Kanto’s Pokémon Professor. He’s the first one to reside in Pallet Town. The lab itself is still under renovation; he’s moved back home after being away for years at school, and still trying to mourn the loss of his fiancé. He’s a single father, struggling to balance work and parenthood, but he gets by. ( Further down this timeline, about thirteen years later, he suffers the loss of his children, and becomes the guardian of his grandson, Gary Oak. )
To find Professor Oak is the other ‘verses’ from the Offered / Desired sections, just ask.
Current plans:
Keeping busy. Professor Oak is a very goal-oriented person and although he finds relaxation necessary, he also prefers to be active. His hands are always full running the biggest pokémon lab, but he’s always throwing himself into new projects of all kinds of varieties.
Travel and meet new people. Ever the social butterfly, the Professor is always welcoming new faces to his growing list of companions. Although his reasons for traveling are no longer for becoming a Pokémon Champion, he finds that there are plenty of things he hadn’t quite noticed or appreciated before. It’s interesting to see how some things have changed, and for others, how they’ve stayed the same. It’s all for business purposes of course ( mostly ), but coming full circle provides closure for memories he’d only reminisced about for years after he graduated from college.
Supporting Gary. As his grandson begins his journey in the field of science, Professor Oak prioritizes helping him adjust and giving him the support he needs.
Otherwise, the plans depend on what your muse brings. :O
Desired interactions:
Retired Oak! Literally everything is the same except he’s wearing tropical shirts and jorts. B^) Alola cruise, anyone?
Alzheimer’s Oak! LISTEN, I KNOW.. ... .. Game-mechanic jokes aside, lmao - I have no real excuse. It just hurts so good. ;^(
Grandpa Oak. I’m sure raising Gary and Ash was nothing but and Experience™.
TRACEY. MY PURE ASSISTANT SON -
College. What goes on in college, stays in college. College timeline: here.
Celebi, Again! Starring... Professor Oak! B^) Swapped into the body of his younger self. How does he fix this? Calamity ensues.
Dr. Fuji, Who? No, Professor Oak isn’t part of Team Rocket but he did get roped into helping them create MewTwo with the desperate attempt to also bring his family back to life. Did I rip that from Dr. Fuji? Yes I did, and I don’t care, let me live -
Team Rocket? Or, alternatively, he does work for Team Rocket with this ridiculous concept that he was blackmailed into working for them post-grad because of his unremarkable intelligence and promise. While his public face is the friendly Professor Oak everyone knows and loves, his lab holds darker secrets, the darkest being that he could no loner resist their persistence in making him comply, after they staged his children’s death as an innocent car accident. : ) ... Anyway,
Persistent Press. Be annoying and invasive. Start scandals. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Unrequited. Get rejected by the notorious man himself. He will be gentle.
Agatha. How dare you,
CROSSOVERS!!!
Offered interactions:
Are you a Pokémon Trainer™ or some other kind of pokémon-specializing person ( pokémon watcher, photographer, breeder, ranger, etc. )? Ring up your Professor when Officer Jenny arrests you for something he told you not to do in the first place so he can judge you with a proper scolding. For the others, show him your talents and skills! If you’re not a Kanto Trainer, I’m sure one of the other Professors can send you his way, either to drop something off / pick something up / for general help, etc. and he’s always excited to meet his colleagues’ kiddos. Also excited to see others contribute to the world of pokémon in some way! He loves pokémon and humans interacting!
Are you a Pokémon Professor? Doctor, Nurse? Let’s gather ‘round and be stressed about Ash our reckless trainers. But also drinking and karaoke! Pokémon Discourse™. Camping retreats. Boring, obligatory conferences. Peer Review. Or maybe you just need a little advice from one of the pokéworlds more experienced Professors! Unless you’re Professor Rowan - in that case you’re BFFs that get into shenanigans nobody would ever believe.
Are you a Science Major? Limited internships available for college students.
Do you live in Pallet Town? Hi, neighbor! B^) Professor Oak ( and Tracey ) most likely talk to you in passing, should it occur. ( Please message me about pre-established relationships first. ) Common places include, the mart, post office, movie theaters, etc.
Summer Camp? Boom, Professor Oak has summer camp for the kiddos at his corral.
Are you a big idolizer of Professor Oak? Lucky for you, there’s more than one way to be a fan! You can reach him via fanmail, @’ing him on social media, finding his personal phone number from some sketchy fan forum, hogging up the radio show hotline, stalking his schedule to make each appearance panel, hovering outside around his lab, stealing candid photos, bombarding him in public with intrusive questions, shoving your notepad out for an autograph... You can even be one of those weird people who try to proclaim your love to ‘celebrities’ too old for you that you know little about. Who knows what this poor man will do?
Are you into Traditional Kanto / Johto? You may share the same passions if you’re into calligraphy, ikebana, haiku, tea ceremonies, etc.
Are you a Celadon University Student? Feel free to talk to your Intro To Pokémon ( or Pokémon Sociology 101, etc. ) Professor about anything unclear about assignments, to offer questions or concerns... or try to make excuses for not turning in homework and being late, you lazy student. :T Doubles as an Unofficial Guidance Counselor to said students even though that’s not his job - but he can’t help it, he’s a parent before he’s a Professor.
Are you a child associated with Make-A-Wish Foundation? Professor Oak offers terminally-ill children the opportunity to choose their starters, and spend time with their favorite idol. : (
Are you affiliated with the media? All press can inquire about guest speakings, giveaways, promotions, advertisement deals, interviews, volunteer work, hosting/co-hosting, etc. and Professor Oak will get back to you at his earliest convenience. This INCLUDES those working at Goldenrod Radio Tower!
Are you a business person? Politician? High-Profile Celebrity / Figure? Meet Professor Oak at a Gala! Or any other formal event. Feel free to offer business negotiations, inquire about his residence, or other sketchy things. :v
Are you affiliated with Kanto’s Pokémon League? Albeit not as recently involved as per usual, he’s an advisor, so he and your muse are at least associates, if not more.
Are you one of the developers that helped with the Pokédex? Nerds will be nerds.
Do you know Samuel from his days prior to being Professor Oak? Whether it be from childhood, training days, or college, they all matter. ( I’m aware this is highly unlikely because nobody RP’s old pokémon muses, but with that being said, I’m open to interacting with kids / grandkids of the aforementioned. )
Are you Team Rocket a villain? Have you reached your Kidnap-A-Scientist quota today?
Current open post/s:
I had very few, but I’m too lazy to look for them. Plotting is probably better. /gestures to this post
Anything else?:
Threading is not limited to this list. I’m always open to more ideas!
I’m not sure what the huge difference is between the Desired / Offered interactions -
You don’t need a pokémon verse to interact with me!
Your muse does not need to idolize Professor Oak to interact with him.
CROSSOVERS.
