Novoland: Pearl Eclipse [Ep 32-33
[Ep 32]
So the secretary is on the bad side too? Oh no, they're gonna try to kill Zhe Liu I can see it coming now. Because she accidentally touched the secret message letters. Okay, so they aren't going to kill her just keep her there until the 1st of the month is over. Since they're planning to kill the Emperor and Jian Ming then.
I really love how quick-witted Haishi is, and also how perceptive she is. Literally, she catches on to everything. (well except that Jian Ming loves her)
I hope Zhe Liu can warn them. WAIT WHAT!! She's taking a suicide potion! To keep Zhou Ying from being held back omg! Girl....you could just like break up with him damn. You ain't gotta kill yourself for him! Jesus, Cdrama's are so dramatic. [I'm skipping through the recap moments lol]
Ah, they weren't expecting the 2nd guy. I thought for sure that Zhe Liu would have warned them first.
[Ep 33]
Well, this episode opened up extremely stressfully. Who's dying today lol surely they all can't make it out of this encounter alive.
I refuse to believe that Zhou Ying actually intended to kill the Emperor. I think that was all a rouse to make it look real. Obviously, word will spread, and if his tribe hears that he tried to kill the Emperor then they will trust him more. I don't think he's a bad guy.
I don't understand his plan, to be honest. I mean he's sending Haishi off to get Zhou Ying or to kill him. Even Haishi doesn't understand. I agree with her, it seems like everyone is just a pawn used for the bigger scheme of just protecting the Emperor.
So literally Zhou Ying had to take a bet that Haishi would rather disobey Jian Ming than to kill him. But, she shot the arrow and it definitely looks like she killed him.
I honestly can not tell if General Fu is bad or good. Like he killed the doctor so the news doesn't leak out that Haishi is a girl. However, I feel like he's planning to use this information somehow.
It's cute that the Emperor is starting to fall in love with Tilan. You can tell because he's starting to smile at her like he did Zizan and also he's getting excited to be around her and talk about doing fun things together.
OH NO! General Fu works for Prince Chang! OH MY GOD! Now he's gonna tell him that Haishi is a girl! AHHH I need to know what's gonna happen next but I have to go to bed. I have work in the morning...cries!

CLJ Recaps
The first 12 minutes of this ep is the previous Moon Supreme making excuses for his abuse, naturally. He says that DFQC was the hope of the Moon Tribe's survival. Seems like a lot of pressure to put on a teenager but OK!
Me & DFQC upon hearing this:
Tumblr media
He then asks his father an important question: If you could turn back time, would you make the same choice? The previous Moon Supreme answers that he would do it all again. Neither DFQC nor I are surprised.
Tumblr media
The previous Moon Supreme tearfully pulls the "I had no choice" card, but this only further enrages his son. In the past, his father was fierce, strict, and firm. He demands to know why the old man waited until death to say that. In response, we get a flashback of when Shuiyuntian was winning the war against the Moon Tribe.
DFQC accuses his father of using him as a tool to fight against Shuiyuntian. Old Moon Supreme denies it ofc, saying that he couldn't bear to watch his son suffer.
Tumblr media
Sir, you are literally the cause of your son's suffering!! You put a teen through a ritual that was so painful that he begged for death instead. What the fuck do you mean you "couldn't bear it"? The previous Moon Supreme said that he chose death rather than bear living with the thought that he'd hurt his son, which IMO is a cowardly thing to do.
Teen!DFQC's emotions were removed, so he wouldn't have been able to feel resentment towards his father for the ritual. The old man merely had to step down and allow his son to take charge, but he was selfish instead. But Orchid gets fixated on the old man's wording.
Tumblr media
She says that she read the secret book and nowhere did it say that killing a loved one was necessary for the ritual to work. Old Moon Supreme explains that emotions are hard to kill (ofc) and that every time they recover, it takes another 1000 years to completely remove them again.
He says that his death was to ensure that DFQC's emotions did not recover. The old man recognizes that his son's emotional root has recovered and says that's why he's in so much pain. He asks, "Do you want all your previous suffering to be in vain?" which is honestly so cruel. He tries to goad DFQC into killing him, claiming it will free him from his pain, but DFQC says he can't do it.
Tumblr media
Rather than have the decision made for him like last time, DFQC wants to make his own choice.
Tumblr media
He chooses mercy and says he doesn't want to forget what it's like to feel. He remembers the good times and the bad and can experience joy and sorrow on his own. During this lull, Orchid offers DFQC the ball he played with when he was younger. He is still emotional and can only stare at it, but the previous Moon Supreme recognizes it immediately.
He reaches out and the ball materializes in his hand. Orchid & DFQC watch as the old man turns the ball over and relives when his son was young. He holds the ball out and DFQC sees a flash of his father from happier times. He kicks it towards his son in an attempt to connect, but DFQC hesitates. The flower is about to burn out and he doesn't have much time left. Orchid urges him to kick the ball back.
He doesn't. He looks up and the flower and his father's soul both fade into dust. I'm honestly really glad that DFQC didn't kick it back because wtf even was that scene? He made the decision not to permanently destroy his father's soul, but also not to forgive him.
Back on the surface, it's Xunfeng's designated execution by lightning day. Apparently in the Moon Tribe you can summon lightning with a special drum, which I think is really cool! Orchid steps forward to protest but DFQC eventually raises a hand to stop after 30 hits. He asks how many strikes are left, and an attendant answers: 51.
Tumblr media
Moon Supreme declares that he'll take the remaining blows for his brother, and both Shangque and Orchid protest. Xunfeng is so weak that he has to be held up by guards, but he still doesn't trust DFQC. Moon Supreme removes his top and orders the executioner to summon more lightning. Naturally, he hesitates to harm his ruler.
The main theme plays as he is struck my lightning over and over, and Orchid can't bear to watch. With each strike, Xunfeng gets more shaken. Why is his brother doing this? At the last strike, he falls to his knees and Orchid and SQ rush over. XF refuses to thank DFQC and vows to avenge their father even in death.
Tumblr media
This upsets Orchid, who heard the truth from their father himself.
Tumblr media
She says that he doesn't know the truth between their father and DFQC and calls Xunfeng selfish. During her rant, Moon Supreme stares at her in awe. Orchid has been awfully brazen lately, but who doesn't find a woman defending you sexy? ;) She leaves behind the mirror that captured her interaction with the previous Moon Supreme so she wouldn't forget.
DFQC is supported by Orchid & SQ back to his quarters where he promptly passes out. Orchid worriedly consults with the physician who says that lightning is powerful. Even though DFQC isn't going to die, he still needs to recover.
Tumblr media
I'm really into the aesthetic of the palace staff, and I'm kinda sad that DFQC and Xunfeng don't have painted lips or elaborate jeweled headdresses. Maybe I just miss Arthdal. Orchid is about to leave when DFQC suddenly grabs her wrist in panic. She's delighted that he's awake, but Moon Supreme weakly asks where she's going. "I'm not going anywhere. Your medicine is almost ready and I need to keep an eye on the fire."
Tumblr media
This is the first of many gentle touches in this episode. Though he reached out in panic at being left alone, Orchid takes DFQC's hand in both of hers to soothe him. Seeing this needy side of him is actually very endearing. Orchid is used to taking care of herself, but treats her loved ones kindly so she's the perfect person to take care of DFQC while he recovers.
However when Orchid returns with his medicine, the bed is empty. She searches for him and finds DFQC crumpled on the floor of the previous Moon Supreme's room and holding his childhood ball. When he hears Orchid approach, he tries to wipe his tears but is instead wracked with grief. Orchid sits beside him and reaches out but he puts a hand up to stop her. He's shaking too much and when her hand makes contact with his, he wraps his fingers around hers.
She wraps her arms around him and he clings to her and sobs. He's experiencing grief for the first time since his father's death.
Tumblr media
He asks if killing his Love Tree will make the suffering end, but we already saw him fail at that. Orchid holds him and silently cries with him as he sobs that he doesn't resent his father anymore.
Orchid continues to care for DFQC as he recovers and catches Xunfeng looking anxiously through the window of his brother's room, unable to enter. Now that he knows about their father, I'm sure he has a lot to say! Meanwhile Moon Supreme is sitting in bed reading a book with his hair down.
Tumblr media
This is the first time we've seen him this vulnerable with anyone. The disheveled hair and open robes mean that he's completely relaxed and doesn't care that Orchid sees him this way. He's even started to act bratty around her! DFQC refuses to take his medicine because it's too bitter, and Orchid chastises him and says that's why it's taking him so long to recover.
Tumblr media
She bribes him with flower cakes and he takes the medicine, but Shangque appears and says that Xunfeng wants to see DFQC. He's annoyed but immediately stands up and straightens out his clothes, much to Orchid's shock. He'd just said that he needed her help to walk, but clearly it was a lie!
XF does the Chinese equivalent of a mano (touching forehead to an elder's hand, or in this case, ring) and asks about DFQC's recovery. Now that he knows the truth, XF is being incredibly meek and Im kinda into it! But he's not just there to ask how his brother is doing: he has information.
Tumblr media
When DFQC was sealed away 30,000 years ago, everyone thought he was dead. This led to mutiny in Cangyan Sea. In the midst of the chaos, a mysterious man approached Xunfeng. That was Ronghao, who would later become the Lord of Haishi City. RH said that as long as XF helped him build the city, he would help control the Northern and Southern Kings.
DFQC is not impressed that his brother left the fate of their people to a stranger. XF says that when he discovered that Ronghao was using the primordial spirits of people from the Moon Tribe, he carefully examined his memories and found something strange: every time it seemed like Xunfeng was losing, Ronghao would help him. But when XF had the advantage, the Northern and Southern kings always got away. He was playing them against each other.
XF feels guilty towards his people for dragging them into a civil war and allowing the power of the Moon Tribe to dwindle. He says that being pardoned was a mistake and he should die for his actions.
Tumblr media
Orchid is listening in and after hearing that DFQC didn't pardon XF, she looks a little sad. He goes on to say that in order to correct his mistake, XF must win future battles. XF looks up in shock at his brother and promises that he will. DFQC dismisses him but XF hesitates, causing Moon Supreme to think that there are perhaps more details to report.
The problem is that Xunfeng was hoping to speak to his brother instead of his ruler. When they're alone, Orchid brings this up to DFQC. She says instead of always scolding XF as the Moon Supreme, DFQC needs an intimate gesture to show that he's forgiven.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, DFQC's training was solely in fighting & conquering. He has no idea how to be a person (much less a brother) outside of being the Moon Supreme. Orchid says he should try smiling, but DFQC's attempts are a little unsettling. Orchid gives him some assistance, which only makes him look more ridiculous. After smiling training is done, she suggests that DFQC hug his brother.
But he has no idea how to hug! Orchid opens her arms to show him but accidentally gets too close to his face and embarrasses herself. They're starting to be Conscious of each other and it's so delicious! Back in her Siming Hall replica, Jieli catches Orchid smiling and even calling the Moon Supreme cute.
She praises Orchid's "acting" and says that even she herself was fooled. When Orchid hesitates, JL jumps up.
Tumblr media
Orchid denies any real feelings and says that of course she's just acting! But JL's staring unnerves her. She's definitely aware that there's Something There That Wasn't There Before ;)
While this is going down, DFQC is meeting with XF to tell him about how to free the 100k soldiers that are trapped in stasis. He's tracked down the next reincarnation of Chidi Nuzu, who is apparently named Xie Wanqing. He gives XF the order to go to Yunmeng Lake when she is born and take her to Xuanxu Realm. Putting her soul into the Shuofeng Sword will break the seal of the spell. XF is speaking excitedly this entire time and is eager to show his brother what he's capable of.
As he's leaving, Moon Supreme tells him to wait and attempts to put theory into practice. When he raises his hand, XF visibly flinches and seems alarmed. When DFQC's hand comes down on his shoulder, he jumps a bit.
Tumblr media
These are two men who are not used to being affectionate with each other and it shows! But the gesture is not lost on XF, especially now that he knows his brother previously had his emotions removed. He manages to smile awkwardly back and then excuses himself. In the background, SQ is grinning like a madman with his teeth showing. That kind of smile is a bit too advanced for Moon Supreme atm.
SQ is happy to act out the encounter for the ladies and Orchid says that DFQC is still shy about showing his emotions to others but the fact that he's trying shows great improvement! The thought of his master making up with his brother delights Shangque, but he is worried about something.
Tumblr media
Since Yannu was betrayed by her lover from Shuiyuntian, the two have been mortal enemies. An emotional Moon Supreme is unheard of. Orchid doesn't understand why there must be hatred in the heart of a leader. She says that DFQC is different and JL is on the cusp of calling Orchid's bs when the man himself appears.
Moon Tribe custom dictates that to thank someone, you must apply your own blood to the other person's face. He knew that Orchid wouldn't like real blood, so DFQC replaced it with cinnabar instead. I read up on it and while it's toxic to humans, it's apparently been used in Chinese lacquerware for centuries! Orchid is hesitant, but DFQC insists that this tradition is important because it's the first time he's ever thanked somebody.
Orchid relents and offers her cheek to Moon Supreme. He touches her SO GENTLY that I want to explode!!!!
Tumblr media
They are both starting to be more conscious of each other and Orchid seems to be catching real feels. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS TO UNFOLD!!

2023 drama recap
Note: these are dramas (webdramas & one cdrama & one Western show as well) that I’ve watched this year, but not all of them were released in 2023.
Shadow&bone s2: not gonna lie, this one felt messy and a bit all over the place, but I guess when you read the books and the TV show is a mix of different book series, it's expected
My review: 6/10
Use for my talent: the supporting couples carry this show on the back, I have nothing more positive to say because the main leads' love triangle is super annoying and the kiss scenes are so forced and unrealistic, it's not even funny anymore :') I haven't yet watched it until the end, but so far:
My review: 6.5/10
When i fly towards you (cdrama): this was a charming drama that got me until the second half of it when it lost its charm, and I realised that it's way too unrealistic, there were a lot of cringey scenes, the end felt dragged and repetitive, and I didn't really see any character development even though we saw the main leads growing up (but props to the second leads, I really loved their dynamics!)
My review: 6.5/10
User not found (webdrama): it was more enjoyable than annoying, but overall, it did have some unnecessary drama and the main female lead's acting wasn't up to my liking
My review: 7/10
Tracer: I'm pretty sure it would have been more enjoyable if we had managed to find good subtitles for it because the acting was really good, but I didn't get the plotline fully because of the Google Translate-like subs, so yeah, that's why it's only 7.5 (but Im Siwan's acting is 10/10 as always)
My review: 7.5/10
The witch store reopens (webdrama): it was perfectly fine considering that it was a webdrama (so expect some overexaggerated acting and such), it was cute, funny, and the leads (Yonghee and Yerin) did well
My review: 8/10
The heavenly idol: I've watched it for Kim Minkyu, but it was unexpectedly serious at times (touched upon bullying, double standards for idols, the nasty parts of the showbiz industry), so it did surprise me positively - however, the special effects were a bit odd at times, and you can't take the storyline seriously, but if you let go of reality, it's pretty enjoyable
My review: 8/10
Revenge of others: it was pretty dramatic at times and I didn't necessary like the big plot twist at the end, but I really loved the investigating part of it and the whole storyline wasn't that predictable
My review: 8.5/10
Seasons of blossom: this definitely delivered some emotional punches (read: I cried), and the acting was really good on the leads' part, some other acting was kind of forced, but overall, it was a meaningful drama
My review: 9/10
Crash course in romance: me and my mother both really enjoyed this show, we were waiting for the episodes to come out week after week. It was really funny, had some serious topics to touch upon, and the acting was overall really good. I deduct 0.5 point because sometimes I didn't feel the balance between the crime part (yes, there's one like that) and the main storyline, it wasn't that annoying, but I have to mention it
My review: 9.5/10
King the land: it was similar to Business Proposal to me in terms of how much I enjoyed it and why I deduct 0.5 point - it was funny, it was cute, the acting was really good, but there were a lot of clichés that you can't help but shrug off because it was really enjoyable
My review: 9.5/10
Castaway diva: I have 3 episodes left, so this is not my final verdict, but it's been really good so far, I really love the way they touch upon such sensitive topics, and the acting ranges here on the three main leads' parts are just wow! (I only deduct 0.5 point because of Yoon Ranjoo and her whole showbiz team, it's like they can't decide which side they want to be on)
My review: 9.5/10
Twinkling watermelon: my favourite drama this year, genuinely a 10/10, it was funny, heart-warming, heart-breaking, and very meaningful, would highly recommend
My review: 10/10

I haven't seen the new episodes yet. But from what I can gather this show is wish fulfillment and I'm quite excited that from what I've heard so far the plot is going like. The Most ideal way i would have hoped for it to be written

Till the End of the Moon - Episode 39
Tumblr media
Second to last episode. Already. It’s been a while since I watched quite consistently one drama so it almost feels like an achievement to have reached that far, so fast. I’m completely in the dark as to what might happened next. Cang Jiumin got all of the artifacts back. Susu came to ask him for the truth. We still don’t know if Ye Qingyu has become or not the king of Jing. I don’t know if I’m the only one still wondering about that? Like, they implied there was someone who knew about Tantai Jin behind that mask and they haven’t used that info yet and I kind of need closure on that. That’s the only think I haven’t seen reused so far and yeah. It needs to be used. Thank you.
He’s upset she came, but he still kills the demon that came to try and kill her. Then he tells her he did this because he hates her and can’t forgive her for what she did to him. She doesn’t want to believe it. But then the demon god take possession of Cang Jiumin and reaches for Susu’s throat, strangling her. More yelling. I was thinking that Luo Yunxi did a pretty good job in this part, like you can see him being torn while completely embracing trying to be the villain. But I don’t know why they ask them to scream all the time they’re fighting. It looks so stupid and kind of breaks any intense moment. Even though the demon god tries to convince Cang Jiumin that no one ever loved him, he manages to break free and release Susu. He tries to kill the demon god, but it doesn’t work, obviously and the demon god uses the demonic weapons to try and force him into becoming the demon god. It kind of backfires because the weapons don’t obey anymore the original demon god and Cang Jiumin uses them to absorb the demon god. Or something like that. It was weird.
He figures out that since only a true god can kill the demon god, it has to be Susu killing him, as she’s the daughter of Chu Huang and suitable to follow the Heartless way to become a god. So he tells the demons to announce to the different sects that he’s going to marry her in three days and they are invited to the wedding if they want to come and congratulate him.
Gongye Jiwu decides to let himself get contaminated by demonic energy, even though he’s going to become a demon because of that because he’s not strong enough to fight Cang Jiumin as he is now. That character makes me really sad. In all of his lives, he ends up being a puppet to others’ plan. He ended up dying miserably because of his stupid father as Xiao Lin. Then he’s manipulated by Dimian. He had kind of everything to succeed, but then... he’s so upright that it’s kind of his downfall. It’s so sad really.
Cang Jiumin prepared a dream like world like the one Mingye left behind for Susu to remember him after everything’s over. She wonders why he would love a simple mortal life, but he doesn’t explain much. In the end, she kisses him and they spend the night together as a farewell I guess. Then he takes her back for the wedding.
Pang Yizhi gave Gongye Jiwu a charm about the demonic punishment the gods tried to use against the first demon god. He plans on using it on the day of the wedding to kill Cang Jiumin. The other sects’ disciple agree to follow him in doing so.
I have to say once more though... The costumes in this drama. I love them. There was only the grass cape Tantai Jin wore for his wedding which was really bad (but still kind of grew on me anyways). Everything else... the head pieces, the capes, the details. The costume designers did a very good job. I mean, there’s so many of them so I’m not sure of the quality up close but on my tiny screen it’s gorgeous.
And as the wedding is about to begin, end of the episode. Only one left and it’s over. I have no idea how things are going to turn out, how it will be resolved. But none of the main characters died yet. So I expect that some of them will tragically perish during next episode, if not all of them.

A 2022 Recap: My 5 favorite dramas of the year
2022 was an interesting year. I didn’t watch as many dramas as I hoped to have had, so making this list wasn’t as hard as I expected it to be.
Disclaimer: This list is purely based on my own enjoyment of the show. They come in no particular order. This list is subjective, and will only include dramas that premiered in 2022 or have had their last episode air this year.
Our Beloved Summer (SBS,Netflix)
Tumblr media
“A life without love is like a year without summer.”
This was absolutely beautiful. The cinematography, the music, and the chemistry between the leads were amazing. Watching this is like watching a movie. It was well-written and poetic. Notwithstanding the fact that I initially found the relationship between the leads toxic, this is actually a really solid romance drama. The characters were able to outgrow these toxic characteristics later on when they were older and gave the viewers a beautiful take on a second chance romance.
Twenty Five, Twenty One (tvN, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This drama taught me what love was. I have never seen a connection between two characters as beautiful as what Na Hee Do and Baek Yijin shared. It’s been 9 months and I still think about them from time to time.
This drama captured the beauty of youth, first loves, and fighting for your dreams. Definitely was broken hearted with the ending. I didn’t need a happy ending; I just want one that made sense. I felt cheated when I first watched it, but then I realized how this drama literally resurrected me from my drama slump. Sometimes we forget how beautiful something was in the beginning, just because of its ending. The first 3/4 of the drama was definitely a 10. Regardless of how it tied everything, this was definitely one of the best dramas I’ve seen in my entire life.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo (ENA, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This is the best surprise I had this year. I wasn’t really keeping up with the news surrounding this drama nor was I planning on watching it. I just started it on a whim one night and easily fell in love with it.
Although I love the portrayal of the romance, the real star of the show is the growth of Woo Young Woo as a lawyer. I love how each case she handles ties in with important themes in society. I especially like how this drama highlights the treatment of autistic people, since the titular character is one. You will definitely see how she tries to fit in, in a world where people have so many prejudices against people like her.
Relevant themes, unique, well-acted and heartwarming. This is definitely one of the best dramas this year.
A Dream of Splendor (Tencent)
Tumblr media
This historical drama filled in what I was looking for in Chinese dramas for so long: a good, solid historical romance.
Well-acted and has a sensible plot. This drama is considerate to the eyes and the brain. I also liked how there is a story outside the romance. The 3 women’s journeys to finding their places in a male-dominated world is to root for. I especially liked each woman had a different personality and at some point, even had different directions in their lives, but they still kept their strong friendship in the end.
Love Between Fairy and Devil (iQiyi)
Tumblr media
The hype is real guys. This is the xianxia drama of the year.
This is straight out like a fairytale. “What happens when the villain falls in love?” Watch him damn the whole world just so he can kiss her one last time.
The CGI, costumes, music, and the overall aesthetic of this drama was absolutely beautiful. I definitely think this is a good drama to watch as an introduction to the world of xianxia dramas.
Runner Ups
A Business Proposal (SBS, Netflix)
Tumblr media
This definitely reminded me so much of old-school romcom Kdramas which I missed so much. This is cliche done right. It almost has every trope you’ll find often plagued in Kdramas, but this drama did it so well.
I do wish the ending was different. Definitely a drama to watch if you just want to turn off your brain and watch two most unlikely people fall in love.
Lighter and Princess (Youku)
Tumblr media
Definitely a guilty-pleasure. I really enjoyed the transitions of the relationship of the main couple. They started out as academic rivals, then became co-workers, then friends, then lovers, broke up, met again in a new workplace, became friends again, then got back together. Objectively, it’s not the best drama out there. The second half most especially felt lacking, and I didn’t like the “villain” of the story. Still this drama got me so hooked I bought a Youku subscription.
Maybe it was because of the chemistry between the leads, maybe it was because of Arthur Chen’s dashing looks, or maybe it was the fact that it rekindled my love for bad boys. I can’t pinpoint specifically what made this drama so addictive. But I do know for sure that this is my favorite modern Chinese romance drama of the year.

The Empress of China-Ep. 1 Recap and Thoughts
First of all, why didn't they subtitle the intro. song? It sounds pretty epic...
Why do the soldiers listen to the guy who just killed their leader? I would not have closed that gate.
So it looks like they have this whole plan for this coup, right? Which by the way, Operation Dragon?, worst name for an uncover coup plan IMHO, and it all hinges on this guy
Tumblr media
A forty-five-year-old man that at the same time reminds me of a chubby two-year-old. (with a 'stach)
And then this guy walks in.
Tumblr media
all like here's that head you wanted!
Tumblr media
What head? I didn't? whhaaa?
At this point I'm feeling really bad for Chubby Crown Prince. I mean at this point a bunch of people of already died and then this guy drops a literal head at his feet. Then they start quilt tripping about how its already started and if you don't finish it then all of us are gonna die? Is that what you want? Don't be so selfish.
And he's all like whoa, whoa hold your horses guys. I'm already Crown Prince, just wait until she kicks the bucket and then ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, I'm Emperor!
But then this skeletal looking mf walks in
Tumblr media
Pfft, yea if you last that long Chubbs. She's killed like 34 people from this family and another blah, blah, blah from this one and she's even killed just as much from her own family. And I KNOW, that its supposed to make us think of her of this monster but honestly, it just made me question the circumstances. Not saying she was right, but I think more info is needed here.
Prince Chubbs is like yea she killed them all, why do you think I'm scared. (Maybe he's smarter than I thought? Great self-preservation skills.)
But old dude is like don't worry, you got that Dragon Blood baby! Pure bred pedigree, majestic awesomeness courses through them veins baby!
Guys...it worked lol
Cut to this pretty boy.
Tumblr media
Who's all like it quiet...too quiet. Hey you, tiny female maid-go check it out. So she dies, obviously, at the hands of Cubby Crown Prince.
Tumblr media
Gee Thanks boss.
And then Chubbs kills pretty boy.
And then they make it to the final boss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LMFAO
So Queen Bee Empress finally shows up and gives them all a verbal smack down.
Tumblr media
Literally howled at this point. I'm not sure if she's mocking Chubby Prince or if she sincerely means that this is him at his bravest in which case yikes.
But then she says this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wait? What?! She wanted Gate Boy and Pretty Boy to die? So like she orchestrated this whole coup on herself? She is devious! and I kinda love it?
But she got what she wanted and is like I'm going to let the rest of you go since I got what I wanted. None of this ever happened.
Chubby Crown Prince is all see you!
Tumblr media
So that pretty much busts up the little party until it is just the Empress and Skeletor .Then this next conversation is a little confusing to me to be honest but basically, he goes from staging a coup to them having a little laugh together and being a little buddy buddy . And then she's like I had a dream about a parrot with some broken wings. And somehow Skeletor takes that to mean that she is killing the dynasty but not immediately handling over the reins to the throne to her sons as requested by the previous Emperor on his deathbed.
And then it turns into this whole thing where she is tired and she's walking up the stairs to the throne and this dress omg
Tumblr media
Cue about ten minutes of me delusionally trying to convince myself that I can make this myself some how.
Then I think she is dead? dying? maybe a ghost? Whatever she is now, she starts doing the flash back to when she first entered the palace.
Tumblr media
There is young Empress giving out all sorts of pastel Handmaid's Tale vibes with all the other entry level concubines. Like dress, hairstyles and hair ornaments all the same.
And then this random chair comes towards them from the other side.
Tumblr media
And someone tells all the Concubines to kneel down because it's the Emperor's chair. So they all drop it like it's hot, except this one.
Tumblr media
And all the other girls are looking at each other like the nerve of this ho over here.
But guys...the chair is empty. So the chair passes by and the head Eunuch sees that this girl stayed up the whole time the chair was passing by and he is pissed. But the girl is like but its empty.
And old man is like IDGAF, you see the chair you break them knees dropping to the ground capeesh?
Then we finally see the Emperor having some sort of weird pissing contest/learning lesson with his three sons. The Emperor takes on his three sons at once in a sword fight and then tells them how and why they didn't win- obviously because they are not fighting together as a unit. Get a tiny glimpse of their personalities here.
Then we get a couple of scenes where it shows the new concubines being groomed and measured so that they can prepare to *ahem* serve the Emperor, except this one ho who thinks she's better than that and won't let herself get measured. She pulls the do you know who my daddy is card and they (the eunuchs that is) just let it slide, cause obviously any one from that family must be gorgeous.
Which totally unfair IMHO and the opinion of the young future Empress as well, but then this ho is all like no don't say that.
Tumblr media
Which is she trying to help her? Probably but it also makes her seem like a 'fraidy cat or is she just smart for being cautious in the harem?
We then have all the newcomers lined up all outside of a pavilion looking thing, sun blazing down on them while four women are inside drinking some tea.
We got mean looking cat lady.
Tumblr media
Like she's smiling but doesn't she give out I got something up my sleeve vibes?
Tumblr media
This tea sipping lady- seems like she's maybe the calm, spiritual one.
Tumblr media
This pretty, delicate one who is sick and I'm betting like perpetually sick, probably because someone is poisoning her.
Tumblr media
And this drop-dead gorgeous lady is the pregnant one. As if you could not tell by her compulsively rubbing her stomach.
So after sipping tea and taking verbal jabs at each other as required by the Drama Gods, they decide to let the newbies into the shade of the pavilion.
So they have them all kneeling, and the Cat Lady is walking all through them and giving this holier than thou speech about luck and destiny in the harem. Just showboating IMO.
And then she notices the young future Empress- finally get a name- Wu Ruyi-and is all like I know your dad, he's a merchant, right? (I think he's actually a Duke but he bought the title with money from his business)
Which apparently is a bad thing? Because a couple of the meaner newbies start giggling about it and makes Ruyi sad.
Tumblr media
Don't worry Ruyi, there is no shame coming from a self-made family girl. But I bet you Ruyi is going to remember about this, she does not look like a girl who takes things laying down you know?
So they finally let the newbies go off to do their newbie things. and as the four main ladies are climbing down the stair a fall!
Tumblr media
The pregnant Concubine falls from no where, seriously I don't think there was anyone really close to her.
Immediately everything is in chaos and calling for doctors and then bombshell-
Tumblr media
She says the sick one pushed her!!!
The episode ends here but did she really push her? I mean I doubt it- if she's the sickly one then I don't think she has the energy to do that- And if she did push anybody it would have been a pretty weak push, maybe combo of stair, and high shoes was enough to just throw her off balance?
Sorry, this was longer than I thought it would be. Should I keep going? I probably will anyways since I don't have people IRL who would appreciate my recaps and rambling of these types of shows.

Rising Feather: Episode 1
notes: Spoilers! Master list of all recaps
We start with… oh my.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Have not seen this before in a cdrama.
But we don't have time to dwell as we need to keep the story moving- we only have 12 minutes per episode, after all.
Tumblr media
We meet our male lead Yun Huan who is out in the woods, exterminating Princess Huai's rebels. Just as he finishes the fight, a messenger arrives with a letter. It must be important to be delivered in the dead of night in a remote wooded location, right? Not really- it's Yun Huan's father-in-law Lord Mu announcing that he's taking in a new concubine. Yun Huan heads home immediately as instructed.
Tumblr media
And when I say home, I mean a brothel where the concubine-to-be is dancing a solo. Tonight's lucky lady is the female lead Qing Que, who has a complicated past, if all the flashbacks are anything to go by.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Qing Que begins to make meaningful eyes at Yun Huan as soon as he arrives, and tries to incorporate him into her act.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yun Huan shoves her away but steals a sachet from her as they tussle.
Tumblr media
Later as she walks back to her room, Qing Que has a flashback where we find out Que is an assumed name and she's targeted Lord Mu's family on purpose. The ultimate goal: assisinate Yun Huan. And speak of the devil, he's in her room waiting for her.
Tumblr media
He tells her he knows there is poison in the sachet. Instead of turning her in, he gives it back to her and essentially says good luck murdering your new husband. He also makes the following observation:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(This will become important in less than a minute.)
After she returns to the party, Lord Mu grabs Qing Que and starts to remove her veil.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The veil comes off and Lord Mu recognizes Qing Que. So does Yun Huan. Cut to flashback!
Tumblr media
It's snowing and no one is wearing a coat but everyone has an umbrella that they can dramatically let fall to the ground at just the right part of the OST.
Tumblr media
We find out that Yun Huan and Qing Que had a relationship.
Tumblr media
A relationship that ended when Yun Huan found out that Qing Que was Lord Huai's daughter.
Tumblr media
Oh noes, those are the rebels he was fighting back at the start of the episode! This level of betrayal merits a stabbing.
Tumblr media
oof, right in the ovary
Yun Huan lets Qing Que slide gracefully to the ground and sadly makes the following promise:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naw dog, I'm good. Qing Que is still alive, but Yun Huan roots around her clothes and steals a broken jade ornament.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then he walks to where his current wife is waiting for him and they leave.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cue the single tear. End episode.
Tumblr media
why do I keep switching directions?
Final Thoughts This is either a masterpiece of non-linear storytelling or a hot mess.

Four Seasons Manor (四季山庄): Set Layout, Part Two!
I found it. I finally found the second set. I'm so ridiculously proud of myself 😂 All details will be revealed and broken down shortly, here and in a third part, but first let me recap my Siji Manor drafting progress so far:
If you're stumbling over this post in the wild - hi! I draw architectural drafts of cdrama sets, as accurately to the show as I can. A huge amount of research goes into creating my art, and so far no set location has been as elusive as this one. All of my set design projects start with a lot of research and resource gathering, to ensure that I am drafting the sets as accurately as possible. One element of each of my finished pieces is, as you may know, a birdseye view of the set. I include this to show the spatial relationship of the architectural elements I draft, and to give the fictional location cohesion and comprehensibility as a "lived space," further enriching - I hope - your experience of my art and of the show itself.
This process, however, becomes incredibly complicated to achieve when 1) the set I am trying to draft is split across different film locations, especially if 2) I can't find one of the sets.
At the time of my last post, linked here, I had located the set used for the front courtyard of Siji Manor in Hengdian World Studio's Spring and Autumn Tang Park, (what I have begun to call the "exterior set"), and had ruled out the wider set as locations for the main "interior" set - the inner courtyards of Siji Manor where the majority of the scenes in episodes 24-29 take place.
Well friends, just over a year later, I have confirmed that my suspicions in my very first Siji Manor draft post were, in fact, true. The second shooting location for Siji Manor was inside one of Hengdian's film studios. It was filmed in the "Mansion Scene" set, in Huaxia Shed #2:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
My journey to finding this set lead me through two other dramas, and to the discovery that this set was also used for part of the filming of WOH episode 5, in Sanbai Manor. By cross-checking all of these scenes, I've been finally able to identify all relevant buildings and map the main set for Siji:
Tumblr media
(First part of an insane, dizzying breakdown under the cut. It's long. It's confusing. Godspeed.)
project list | kofi | prints
I will begin by saying that, although I am confident of this layout as you see it above being Siji Manor, I am not certain that this is the full Mansion Scene in Huaxia Shed #2. This is because my only source for the photos above comes from this article, which also includes three photos I've been unable to place in relation to the above map, despite clearly being from the same area. Moreover, because of the lack of wide camera angles or even full use of this above set in WOH itself, my scale/placement of buildings in relation to each other is still a little off. I've also given myself some artistic license with minor parts of the landscaping. That being said, let me break down this set layout for you, and reveal Siji Manor to you all:
WKX and ZZS's rooms
Tumblr media
Buildings 1 and 3 are used as WKX and ZZS's rooms respectively. My confirmation of this fact - and many more to come - comes from the drama Mysterious Lotus Casebook (MLC), in which we see a clearer view of the courtyard between the rooms itself, where the kitchen in WOH resides (labelled 2):
Tumblr media
Firstly, how do I know that the kitchen where Chengling has his chicken showdown is outside WKX's room? Because we can see it outside in this screenshot:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And how do we know that this room, WKX's room, is the one on the left side of the screen in the Mysterious Lotus Casebook screenshot? Because that room, belonging to Yun Biqiu, matches the layout of WKX's room:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Note that WKX's room is used as the Princess's room in episode 1 of WOH, and despite significantly different set dressing/modification, her room - WKX's room - bears the same structural layout as Biqiu's. But you probably just have to trust me on that latter point because they like to move walls and floors in the film studios.)
To verify building 3 as ZZS's room (which is likewise used as Li Xiangyi's from MLC), and to show that you can walk straight through this room from the kitchen (2) courtyard into the formal courtyard (5), I'm going to have to let these door panels do the heavy lifting for me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Did you follow that? Don't worry, I've mapped the route on a copy of the main birdseye view below. Hang in there!
Formal Courtyard
The snowy screenshot above brings us to what could be considered the "formal" courtyard of this mansion - the QHZ snow scene! It is the fact that this scene occurs with ZZS's room to the right (note those door panels) that makes me headcanon ZZS took up residence in QHZ's room on his return to Siji (and that WKX took Qin-furen's....).
There isn't much to say about this courtyard itself, but enjoy these screenshots from MLC:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, did you remember those other door panels? In MLC, Li Xiangyi walks from this courtyard around the side of his old room (again - note the door panels) past a small, private seating area for his/ZZS/QHZ's room - labelled as area 4.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This brings him, and us, along the walkway dividing the kitchen courtyard, and the main courtyard of this set. If you're struggling to follow along (as even I am at this point😵‍💫), this is the route I have taken you on so far:
Tumblr media
I'm about to divert you into Sanbai Manor, WOH episode 5, for a look at area 7, and then we will dive into the main area of this Siji Manor set in part three.
So, surprise! This set is also briefly used for Chengling's room in Sanbai Manor. I thought I was crazy for this, but damn it, I was right. Here's a view of his "room" which is actually the side of the main hall (6):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's at this point that I concede it might have just been easier to start this breakdown with the main courtyard and main hall. Whoops.
Anyway, I hope this first part has been an interesting, if chaotic, read. Let me know your thoughts so far! Have you been able to follow along okay? Do I need to clarify anything? What do you think about the revelation of all these sets colliding? (Particularly if part one and the first set is fresh in your mind.)
As always, if you'd like to support my research madness and help fuel my many artistic endeavors, please consider donating to my kofi or checking out my print shop:
project list | kofi | prints
Now, click through to part three below, where I will take you through the main area of Siji Manor. See you there!

Novoland: Pearl Eclipse [Ep 30-31]
[Ep 30]
[Lost what I had written so far so oh well]
I wish he would tell her he likes her out loud and also not answer her questions only when she's drunk. Wait why did he pass out? Oh, those old wounds and new ones. So he's gonna die in a couple years? That's not fair.
Prince Chang seems to love his brother a lot but I just...idk I feel like he's got ulterior motives for some reason. Maybe not, but I guess I'll find out later on.
Oh so the Nanny was actually in on it. She knew it wasn't the real princess and helped Jian Ming and the Emperor.
Awww, Tilan is scared of thunderstorms. That's cute.
I hope Jian Ming listens to at least some of what Youdu is saying. He makes a lot of sense. I also like how he specifically said "I'm giving up because I know I'll lose. Not to you, but to Haishi's obsession with you." Youdu is more than capable of being someone worthy of Haishi but Haishi only has Jian Ming in her heart, so Youdu knows there is no room for him there.
Why does Zhe Liu want to see the messages though? Is it because she's trying to see if they match to the ones her Aunt did or what? Kinda confused.
[Ep 31]
Ahhh, he finally hugged her! Okay see, Prince Chang (Lord Chang whatever his name is) is definitely not talking about eagles! I knew he was up to something! He also seems to be acting normal not "foolish" and "childish" either. I knew something was up!
Well, the second lead didn't last very long. He's already leaving.
I definitely feel like something is going to happen while the Emperor and Tilan go to the hot spring. [Oh wait, is this gonna be where that dude that the prince talked to is gonna show up?]
[I honestly really love how they filmed everything. The director of this did a great job. Even just the scene of Tilan getting into the water is filmed really beautifully] The Emperor is jealous of Haishi...just a little bit lol. He's telling "him" that he is great at archery but must can only see far to shoot. Since Haishi was glancing back as the maids were bringing Tilan's clothes. Sir lol Haishi is a girl...if only you knew she was and only loves Jian Ming.
I KNEW IT! The little brother is EVIL! The guy he hired is to kill the Emperor omg!
So Jian Ming wants Zhou Ying to go back to his homeland. However, he's warning him that he only has one option. He can't stay because his identity is close to being exposed, but his tribe people won't trust him. [I'm assuming the option being talked about is to kill his older brother and claim his place as the leader]
Why do I feel like Zhou Ying won't return?
Oooh, Jian Ming knows...he just knows! He doesn't have definite proof but he knows!

Story of Kunning Palace Ep 1 - Relationship Chart Recap
Tumblr media
In which I pretend the author thing isn't part of the story.
As always, charts don’t spoil future eps.
I'm still in the middle of watching the series, but I'm starting to get confused with all the different palace study buddies and people cropping up. So, we're back at the relationship chart recaps. Hope the way I'm representing future vs present doesn't bite me in later episodes.

CLJ Episode Recaps
Congrats to DFQC on being a plant dad! Since he's the most powerful being, he feels like fixing Orchid's immortal root will be no problem. The sooner he can break the curse linking their emotions, the better. He consults the scroll containing the wisdom of the Xilan Tribe on how to take care of Xilan Holy Grass.
The world's most powerful villain personally collected morning dew for Orchid to drink and traveled to the Cangyan Sea to get a flame of Immortal Fire to make her room warmer. But the scroll says there's more work to do.
Tumblr media
Siming Hall is the opposite of what Orchid needs. It's remote and dark, and faces away from the morning sun. DFQC links these factors to the reason Orchid is so weak but it almost feels deliberate. If Orchid's master did indeed bring her from Xishan, why bring her to a place she couldn't grow to her full potential?
Siming is also conveniently out "traveling" and only appears in flashbacks. I don't trust her.
Tumblr media
I liked that Orchid & DFQC are standing in the same place as Chang Heng & his brother, but the mood is completely different. Orchid thanks DFQC and he is flooded with her happiness. The beginning of the episode showed Chang Heng being told by his brother that his feelings for Orchid interfere with his duty. He's betrothed to a goddess who hasn't been seen in 30,000 years which is weird af.
The brothers are surrounded by gold & light but there is no happiness. Chang Heng is shown to be a rigid person but in his flashbacks to meeting Orchid for the first time, we see that he felt at ease with her.
He reminisces about the one time he was allowed to relax and then shuts away Orchid's handkerchief, symbolizing that he's "putting a lid" on his feelings. DFQC sums up my feelings for these pretty immortals:
Tumblr media
It sure would be a shame if someone burnt this entire beautiful, glittering realm to the ground for the one he loved!!! Let him have a little murder. As a treat :)
The episode ends with a fascinating discovery by our leading man:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reason there haven't been improvements is because he'd been treating Orchid as a plant instead of a person! While it's true that a comfortable environment improves your mental health, it's not enough to make someone thrive.
For that you need connection. Orchid is isolated and lonely. She's naive and her only interactions with other people are when they come to the Hall for something or when she goes out. She's either treated badly or ignored, so no one truly sees her. Just like no one truly sees Chang Heng.
I hope DFQC falls in love first! ;)

2022 drama recap
Note: these are dramas (webdramas & one cdrama as well) that I’ve watched this year, but not all of them were released in 2022.
Falling into your smile (cdrama): I loved it even though I have nothing to do with e-gaming. This drama was better than I’ve expected and touched on more serious matters regarding the gaming industry and double standards. The acting was a bit exaggerated sometimes, but overall, the couple’s chemistry was nice.
My review: 8.5/10
Our beloved summer (kdrama): I love slow-burn dramas, and this one delivered. Had just the right amount of everything, and I loved that they ended up breaking up for very real reasons in the past, not plain misunderstandings. The acting was excellent!
My review: 10/10
Kiss goblin (webdrama): This was short, sweet and funny. It exceeded my expectations, but you shouldn’t expect a miracle, it still has the budget of a webdrama. I would recommend it for binge-watchers though.
My review: 8/10
Beyond evil (kdrama): My first thriller kdrama, and honestly, it was really good. Totally gave me the chills, the acting was amazing as well. It felt a bit dragged by the last around 3 episodes, but nevertheless, it was an awesome drama.
My review: 9/10
Rookie cops (kdrama): This was a lovely feel-good drama, though don’t get too attached. It gets darker than expected. Loved the friendship, loved the crimes.
My review: 8/10
A business proposal (kdrama): I only deduct 0.5 point because it did have a lot of clichés, and Minwoo should have stayed out of the way a lot sooner, but otherwise, it was definitely the funniest drama I’ve watched this year, and it’s going to have a special place in my heart. Loved both the main couple and the second lead couple!
My review: 9.5/10
Love all play (kdrama): It was a huge disappointment for me. The first half was kind of okay, but the second half was a struggle for me, it felt so repetitive and dragged. I’ve watched until the end only because of the second lead couple.
My review: 6.5/10
School 2021 (kdrama): It was such a breath of fresh air. I loved the bickering main couple and the tough looking guy who’s a real softie+the tough looking girl who just has a hard time showing her emotions second couple. The supporting characters didn’t really interest me that much, especially that out-of-the-blue baby part, but otherwise, it was a lovely, lovely drama.
My review: 9/10
Extraordinary attorney woo (kdrama): Do yourself a favour and watch it! Yes, the law stuff can be a bit boring at times if you’re not that interested in law, but because of everyting else, it’s really worth it!
My review: 10/10
Hot stove league (kdrama): It was a really nice drama with a lot of touching background stories. It did go into a lot of sports-related details at times, but it’s a sports drama, so you can see it coming.
My review: 9/10
Best mistake 3 (webdrama): I have to be honest, I’ve only watched it because of Wonpil and Hyunsuk, and I haven’t watched the first 2 seasons, so I can’t talk about that. It’s a webdrama, the storyline is sometimes boring and some characters are pretty annoying, but at least you can support some idol actors/actresses. :D
My review: 6.5/10
All of us are dead (kdrama): It was my first drama of its kind, and I’ve loved it a lot more than I would have expected. I couldn’t believe that Gwinam couldn’t die though, and I wasn’t super interested in Onjo and Chungsan’s love story (I’ve started watching it because of Namra & Soohyuk), but otherwise, it was super intense and exciting.
My review: 9/10
Summer strike (kdrama): I loved it with everything it had to offer, and it was truly a healing drama for me. I liked the main couple and the second lead couple, too. The acting ranges were also excellent.
My review: 10/10
Taxi driver (kdrama): I love a good justice league drama, and it perfectly did its job. You get attached to all of the main characters, and it makes you feel satisfied when the bad guys get their punishment. The acting ranges were also excellent here.
My review: 10/10

here's the extremely biased recap of my 2023 in dramaland:
also, happy holidays and merry christmas to all who celebrate!!
favorite drama: Because I can never pick just one and I know, it's a weird combination lol:
Moving (kdrama) Perfect, from beginning to end. Breaks your heart and heals it at the same time. Delivers on action, plot, family and romance. SO much romance.
Dr Romantic (kdrama) saw S2&S3 back to back. If you're in pain, you only need Teacher Kim and the Doldam team.
My School President (thai drama) still obsessed with the ost till now. A simple coming-of-age love story, executed perfectly. On par with Heartstopper. There, I said it.
Tumblr media
I spent my time rewatching instead of making posts about any of these lol
Favorite Male lead: Jang ShinYu (Destined with you, kdrama). Excuse you, that show had 99 problems, but Rowoon wasn't one of them.
Runner Up: Seo Woojin (Dr. Romantic, kdrama).
Favorite female lead: I'm gonna be honest, I think they did dirty most female leads, especially in Korea, but the women from Dr. Romantic were all exceptional. So they're my pick.
Favorite OTPs: DoHa&YoungHwa (Moon in the Day, kdrama). ALL the ships in Moving. TinnGun (My School President, thai drama). KiHo&MokHa (Castway Diva, kdrama).
Favorite period drama: Under the Queen's Umbrella, (kdrama).
Runner Up: The Forbidden Marriage(kdrama) Also, i have just realised I didn't see many period dramas this year, but many dramas had a past life, that has to count, right?
Best chaebol romance: The third finger offered to a King (jdrama). Shame on you Korea, you failed to deliver on your area of expertise.
Runner up: A boss and a babe (thai drama). My Demon (kdrama)
Best makjang to keep you at the edge of your seat: Perfect Revenge Marriage . Runner Up: Celebrity. I know it's not exactly a makjang, but idk how else to describe it.
Best Mother: The Queen (Under the Queen's Umbrella, kdrama). Half of her problems were created by her own children, poor woman.
best father: Adoptive dad, Castaway Diva (kdrama). The man was a saint.
Runner Up: Kim Sabu, Dr. Romantic. He has like 20 children among his medical staff lmao
Best Daddy: Joo In Sung, Moving. I don't have to explain lol
Most intense high school romance&story: The Eclipse (thai drama). Runner Up: Never let me go (thai drama)
Best Musical drama: My School President (thai drama).
Runner Up: Castway Diva. Park Eun Bin can do everything. What a Queen.
Best Cohesive storytelling imo: My Lovely Liar. Not the best, but pretty good overall. Runner Up: Sountrack No 2 (kdrama). Worst thing about this is that it was so short, I needed more!!!
Swetest down to earth love story: Hidden Love, cdrama.
Runner Up: HeartLiming in Moonlight Chicken (thai drama). And basically all the other couples in there. The Last twilight Series (thai drama).
Most tragic love story: Moon in the day, kdrama. The competition was strong, but I think falling in love with the man who killed your whole family and caused the downfall of your kingdom is hard to top. Plus, she had to kill him in the end. And it took 1500+ years to get their HEA.
best wtf did I just watch but why was it so fun: My man is cupid (kdrama). Runner Up: Fish Upon the Sky (thai drama)
Best Live Action: From me to you, jdrama. Cute coming of age story. I still prefer the 2010 movie though.
Dishonorable mentions:
Biggest what if: Justice in the Dark (cdrama). I can't talk about this without crying lol Runner Up: Till the end of the moon. I need cdramas to be 40+ eps again!
biggest disappointment: It is with a heavy heart that I must say the Legend of Anle (cdrama). Still, I had my fun with it. I will always be biased about GongJun lol Runner up: King The Land, i mean where was the plot??
messiest past lives story, the theme of the year in kdramas: See You in my 19th life. Runner Up: Destined with You.
