A personal headcanon of mine is that Wendell was adopted by humans, much like Beary Barrington, except they're the farmer and his wife.

Wendell has never felt unloved by his parents, and though they may be a little dull and simple, they always try their very best to keep up with their colorfully hyperactive son, who has a wide range of interests and hobbies. Even if one of those hobbies is doing a little sidestep.

Oh, and his parents also fully support his little gay ass~

Moodboards of my OTP Henry x Wendell (Wenry/Hendell)

On the top row, we have three images representing Henry.

The first image on the left is of a raccoon, representing his singing, top hat-companion, and pet raccoon, Sammy. The second image in the middle is of a football with a football helmet, representing him as a retired football player from the Goose Creek Bruins. And the third image on the right is of a guitar, representing his instrument of choice and his transfer to a music career as the MC of the Country Bear Jamboree.

On the bottom row, we have three images representing Wendell.

The first image on the right is of a mandolin, representing his instrument of choice and his title as the "Mandolin Maestro" of the Country Bear Jamboree. The middle image is of a football, representing the fact that he was literally used as a football by two quarterbacks, which led to his early retirement from his "gridiron career." And the third image on the right is of a skunk, representing Randy the Skunk from the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown and my personal headcanon that Randy is Wendell's pet skunk, whom Wendell begs Henry to let perform with him in the show because he taught Randy how to tap dance. (I'm sorry, but Randy has too much of Wendell's chaotic energy to not be his pet.)

Is it silly that I'm salty that they took Sammy out of the Country Bear Jamboree for the Vacation Hoedown redesign? I mean, it's pretty silly, considering that the Disneyland version doesn't even exist anymore (rip) and the Vacation Hoedown only plays in Tokyo, but I just. Henry loves his lil buddy. Sammy's a good boy. Leave him alone :( Also, Wendell's voice in the Vacation Hoedown really bothered me. They made him such a hick, when before he was just a gentle friend. And the way they made Trixie into a whiner is really unfortunate. Before, she was a beautiful temptress, lamenting a heartbreak... and then they turned her into a whiny diva, and also made her voice less pretty. That show was just. I mean it was cute, but not exactly well-executed in more than a few respects. I know I'm kicking a decades-dead horse, but just. ugh. even tho I never saw the CBJ in person, I'm still disgruntled abt it. That's what I get for having animatronics as a SI tho 😂 rip me
