SITBC Station ID - Logo as Magnet (Pencil Test Variant)
Context:
Just recently, David M Strandquest had uploaded high-quality (and possibly upscaled) as well as drafts of Powerhouse bumpers that he had made for Cartoon Network and Primal Screens, including ones of SITBC, onto his YouTube channel.
I decided to upload them onto this blog (as well as my Archive.org account, which you can find here. Though will make a proper post about the account soon.) for archival purposes.

Just came across a random YouTube video talking about the impact of the CN city era of cartoon network. As someone who implemented CN city style bumpers into the internet web show I use to do, I can say this era had a huge impact on my life. However, the guy in YouTube video mentioned the branding firm around those bumpers made an entire website dedicated to it. With bumpers never seen before. Coolest shit I have accidentally found in a while.

Sidekicks
They’ve been called second bananas. They’ve been called straight men. But most agree only one name really says it all.
Launchpad: Basically, we’re there to make the stars look better. And that’s a responsibility and I think everyone will agree with me, that we don’t take lightly.
Polly: No, it‘s true. We may not get the best lines, but we move the story along.
Remy: Sidekick isn’t a dirty word in this business anymore.
Gus: And I think we owe that, in large part, to the actors that came before us. I mean look, Donald Duck had a full-fledged career as a star going and he really only started doing his best work as a sidekick, and there’s no shame in that!
Scratch: Look, I ain’t supposed to be here. I’m not a sidekick. I’m a co-star. My name is in the title for crying out loud!
*all the patrons stare at Scratch*
Scratch: What?! I think I would know if I was a sidekick or not!

Hey everyone guess who has a new Instagram account for Cartoon Network infographics! The newest one is about the overall continuity of Cartoon Network programming and how the Cartoon Network canon predates the network itself. I will probably repost a few more of these on here eventually but here's a preview of the page for now

Is there a Cartoon Network Multiverse?
The short answer is most likely. The long answer takes a little history. Cartoon Network was originally established to house the Hanna-Barbera library of animated series. Hanna-Barbera cartoons already had an established history of multi series continuity that predates CN, so likewise this continuity followed the shows onto the network.
This HB animated canon was established over a long history of crossovers. There's honestly enough of theses crossovers to be slightly overwhelming so here's three examples to jump off from if you are interested in diving into the older series
Space Ghost (1967) (Council of Doom arc) (The last 2 Space Ghost episodes (six segments), were dedicated to introducing series that were following after Space Ghost in production including The Herculoids, Mighty Mightor, and Shazzan)
The New Scooby-Doo Movies (1972) (This series is known for its guest stars, and this includes characters from other HB produced series; Josie and the Pussycats, Jeannie, and Speed Buggy)
Yogi’s Gang (1973) (Contains 20 different series worth of characters including Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound and Wally Gator fighting the likes of Dr.Bigot and sutch)
These series are three of the dozens of crossovers HB characters that existed before there was even a Cartoon Network.
When Cartoon Network was established, and eventually introduced its own series, at first it was implied these series were part of the older countuity. For instance Dexter's lab had a crossover with Dynomutt and The Blue Falcon, while Space Ghost and Birdman both cameo in an episode of The Powerpuff Girls.
Around the second half of CN G1, Cartoon Network shows started to move away from the prime HB timeline and focused more on individual series being self contained, however the crossovers never really slowed down, with a large amount of crossover material including; Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, the Cartoon Network City bumpers, Fusion Fall, Crossover Nexus, Punch Time Explosion, and even an upcoming (as of publishing) episode of Jellystone
HB being a multiverse in particular was already established by at least the 1980s in “Space Stars”, in with the “Teen Force” characters regularly and casually traveling between alternative dimensions, but continues to today with CN works like “Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake”, which goes into detail about the logistics of Adventure Time’s central multiverse, and, by extension Cartoon Network’s larger multiverse as a whole. There's even a very telling “The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack” cameo.

in early 2007 adult swim attempted to promote the show aqua teen hunger force by putting up small LED boards of the mooninites, these pixel-looking characters who were pretty ubiquitous to anyone who watched adult swim but not to the genpop. they went up around the Massachusetts metro areas -- boston, cambridge, somerville.
so anyway skip to january 31st of that year and i'm watching the news and there's this big story about "suspicious devices" being located in boston. now this was near the peak "see something say something" era, when people in big cities were told to be wary of things like abandoned suitcases, funny-looking electronic devices, anything that could be house an explosive. from the morning through the early afternoon america was rapt to this story of a potential terrorist attack in boston.
and the thing is, a lot of people finally got a look at the devices and figured out what was going on. but most people did not. cartoon network didnt find out what was going on until about 3 pm-ish, and this had started around 8/9 AM. adult swim had to issue an apology during that night's opening bumper. i cant find a copy of it (though i'm sure it's out there) but i remember watching it -- total silence, white text on black, pretty eerie.
