Little Known Brotherhood Members: CARMELLA UNUSCIONE!
Carmella Unuscione was one of the second-gen Acolytes recruited by Fabian Cortez after he murdered the first incarnation of the team, along with Magneto---though of course he did not tell his new recruits this, instead fabricating the story that Magneto and the others had been killed by humans. When Magneto returned from the grave, Carmella, like the rest of the Acolytes, was happily taken into service by him and his new follower Exodus. Carmella had the ability to generate a force-field exoskeleton, which could protect her and attack foes, pummeling or strangling them. She is also able to generate bio-electric energy charges through her exoskeleton that cause intense pain and a temporary disruption of a living being's neuro-synaptic impulses, resulting in a loss of autonomic body function, basically paralyzing them. Like most second-gen Acolytes, Carmella was vicious and cruel. In fact, she was one of the worst of the lot. Not only ready to kill children for the crime of being human, she also tried to kill a mutant child for having Down’s Syndrome and thus being, in her eyes, no better than a human. Luckily, she was stopped from this heinous act by the intervention of the X-Men. Being such a nasty person means she gets along well with the equally cruel Kleinstock brothers, but not so much the more moderate Amelia Voght. thouhg relationship never shown one way or other in comics, they were rivals to the point of violence in the Mutant Empire novel trilogy. In fact, Carmella tried to kill Amelia in the third book, and though Amelia wanted to do the same to Carmella. she refrained...but teleported away part of Carmella’s exoskeleton, so that a piece of her would be missing forever. You may notice that Carmella has the same surname as Unus the Untouchable, who served Magneto in the Brotherhood long before the Acolytes were founded.er exact relation to him was never revealed in the comics, but she was confirmed as his daughter in Mutant Empire novel trilogy by Christopher Golden. Her father is one of her two soft spots, the other being that she was one of three Acolytes (the other being Frenzy and Milan) who talked out a young mutant (Simon Hall aka Neophyte) when he had holed himself up in a church after discovering his powers. When Legion altered reality into the Age of X, Carmella became one of the “Force Warriors” known was Stand-Off, who used her powers to protect Fortress X, the last mutant stronghold. Regular reality has since resumed, and Carmella has not been seen since. Wherever she is though, you can bet she’s up to no good! Part of the “Little Known Brotherhood Members” series on this blog! See previous and pending entries listed HERE!

AU where the acolytes never met Magneto and started their own group and found others.
This is really good one! I’m sorry this took a bit, I had to think about it a lot, but I really liked it!- Fabian starts gathering a lot o the same people who would have become the second-gen Acolytes---the Kleinstocks, Carmella Unuscione, Amelia Voght, and so on. But their more bloodthirsty, kill-all-humans-for-fun attitudes clash with the more noble-minded Chrome, Delgado, and Anne Marie. Fabian tries to make peace between the two sides, because he wants to rule the whole group, and he can’t do that if they’re splitting apart or killing each other. - Fabian and the Acolytes arriving at Erik’s doorstep are what pulled him out of “retirement” so if they never came to him...then he would never have come back, never pulled out Wolverine’s skeleton, never become ruler of Genosha. That last one leaves a hell of a power vacuum. I don’t know how exactly, but I think it would be interesting (read: terrible) if Fabian took advantage of said vacuum, and wound up ruling Genosha himself. Now that’s an AU of its own!- Magneto never coming back (I mean, I’m sure he would eventually, but it’d be later, and that changes a lot) means he didn’t wake up Exodus. But I like Exodus, so I say someone had to. Why not the Acolytes, right?- Like the first-gen Acolytes, Exodus is a much more noble character, one who cares about his fellow mutants and isn’t just here to step on humans for kicks like the second-gens. And unlike the first-gens, he has the power to enforce that. Exodus is a GOD-TIER mutant. Thus, he is able to unite the Acolytes...by controlling the second-gen ones with fear if they step out of line. Naturally, this makes him the leader, the one in control, and that makes Fabian angry. He works to undermine Exodus and win the loyalty of the discontent second-gens. Eventually, Fabian and most of the second-gens split from the others, forming a new Brotherhood, also known as The Annihilationists, with Fabian as the leader. This is probably the group that takes over Genosha. - Much as they hate the cruel ways of their brethren, Exodus and the first-ge Acolytes leave the second-gens/Brotherhood/Annihilationists alone to focus on saving their fellow mutant. Likewise, this new “Brotherhood” leaves them be as well (namely because they know Exodus would DESTROY THEM)

93) UNUS THE UNTOUCHABLE                                                                      Imię, nazwisko: Gunther Bain (legalnie zmienione z Angelo Unuscione)         Inne pseudonimy: Brak                                                                                     Pierwsze pojawienie: X-Men v1 #8.                                                                 Moc mutanta: Unus generuje wokół siebie niewidzialne pole psioniczne. Krewni:                                                                                                                 1. Carmella Unuscione "Unuscione" (domniemana córka)                            2. Jared Corbo "Radius" (domniemany syn)                                                   Drużyny:                                                                                                              a. Brotherhood of Evil Mutants                                                                      b. Factor Three                                                                                                 c. Przyjął przydomek Unus the Untouchable.                                                                  - Za namową Masteminda walczył z X-Men. Wrócił do roli zapaśnika. - Utracił moce podczas M-Day.

Oh, I think one of my friends already showed me a scan of that, they said it was future Brotherhood! It had Exodus, Magik, Sabreooth, and Carmella Unuscione (one of the lady Acolytes), does that sound like it?
Sounds about right. though I’m not sure about Magik.

I was flipping ahead in the "Mutant Empire: Sanctuary" novel to find Acoytes bits
Something happens I always wanted. Okay not LITERALLY always, but I've wanted it, is what I'm saying
The Blob meets Carmella Unuscione
Now, I realize y'all are probably all going “what why is that something you wanted?” and probably also “who the hell is Carmella”
Carmella Unuscione is an Acolyte who is the daughter of the X-Men villain Unus the Untouchable aka Angelo Unuscione aka Gunther Bain, and he was best friends with the Blob
Like, super best friends, LOOK AT THEM
So of course I've always wondered if Fred Dukes knew his best buddy "Gunther" (as he went by in the US; he's originally from Italy) had a daughter, and I wanted them to meet
and now they have
And it gets better! Blob tells  her “Your father was a hell of a guy”
and I just
I HAVE FEELS, GUYS
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED IT WOULD BE and I am hoping for an uncle/niece type relationship to develop out of this, though it probably won't BUT IT MIGHT! The novels are really great for fleshing out villains who don't normally get that kind of attention given to their personalities and stories, so who knows!

Hey Fabian LOOK! Magneto has successfully replaced you with a right hand that has great red hair, looks amazing in the uniform, has a top notch bluetooth, and one fantastic cape! Can we say Fabian is old news?
**** “Her name is Carmella Unuscione and SHE USED TO WORK FOR ME! I’m the one who recruited her originally!”
