Drumroll, please—it is time for our Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange and Madness 2019 works to start being unveiled! Come and see what creators came up with and leave them some love.

Tony had come to every appointment.
In the first couple months Rhodey had practically thrown a hissy fit. He’d complained about not needing a babysitter, said Tony being there made him feel even more self conscious than he already was.

The Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange 2019
Sorry for the slight delay due to technical problems! But here we are!
Sign-ups for our first ever Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange have started! Unlike our Holiday Exchange, our midyear exchange is specifically a fanwork exchange between writers and artists, where each artist is assigned to a writer to create art based on an existing story, and each writer is assigned to an artist to write a story based on existing artwork.
The Midyear Exchange will consist of 2 parts:
An exchange period in which artists and authors will have about 5 weeks to create a work that is at least a fully realized sketch or a story of 500 words!
A madness period that is open to all members of the community to create additional "treats" for any of the participants who have signed up.

June 30: Exchange sign-ups open
July 12: Sign-ups close at 23:59 EST (what time is that for me?)
July 13: Matching period (until July 18, the latest)
July 19: All assignments sent out at the latest

The Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange is a fanwork exchange between writers and artists, where artists are assigned to writers and writers to artists to choose and create illustrations based on existing stories or stories on existing for at least one of their available works of their assignee.

2019 Cap-IM Midyear Madness is Open!
Now that the Midyear Exchange assignments deadline has passed, the Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Madness 2019 is open for business! Requests are now visible for anyone who wants to create a Treat.

Midyear Madness is the low-stress, no obligation phase of the Midyear Exchange. During Madness, you are welcome to create as many Treats for signed up participants as you want or feel comfortable with, from now August 30th. There is no sign up needed for people who would like to create Treats during Madness!
Works in the Midyear Exchange Collection, including all Treats created during Midyear Madness, will be revealed from August 30th.

C-IM Midyear Exchange: Call for Artists & Sign-up Corrections!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up for the Midyear Exchange! As mentioned before, this is the first time it's been run as a formal exchange and we almost have the match numbers worked out. However, to ensure that everyone receives an assignment to work on...
We still need 2 more artists to sign up for the exchange!
If you'd like to join, please contact the mods at [email protected] by Monday, July 15th and we can arrange for you to sign up in the collection! Similarly, if any current participants can take on an additional art assignment (whether you've signed up as an artist, writer, or both), please let us know!
During this time, we'll also be reaching out to any participants who need to correct their sign-ups. We'll be sending out emails during the next 2 days so please make sure that you check your email and make all necessary changes before Monday, July 15th.
If we don't hear back from you or see any changes to your sign-up, we'll either have to make the adjustments on your behalf or omit your form from the exchange section of the event. If you aren't contacted, that means that you're good to go!
Lastly, we'd like to remind everyone that we always need pinch-hitters in events like these! If you'd like to sign up as a pinch-hitter, please contact us at [email protected] and we'll add you to our list.

2019 Cap-IM Midyear Madness: One Day Left!
The AO3 collection will close on August 30th at 23:59 EST (what time is this for me?), so you have one more day to get your Treats in!
Remember, there are no minimum requirements for fanworks created for Midyear Madness. You can write as few words as you'd like if you're writing, and you can submit sketches and line art if you're drawing.
Once your Treat is done, post it to the 2019 Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange Collection to be included as part of the challenge.
Please make sure you link to the original fanwork as a related work using the "This work is a remix, a translation, a podfic, or was inspired by another work" field on AO3.

Sign-ups for our first ever Captain America & Iron Man Midyear Exchange have closed and all matches have been sent out! Participants, check your AO3 emails and remember that you have the next month to create a gift for your assigned person!
Look out look out for the Madness announcement in a few weeks if you want to create additional “treats” for any of the participants who have signed up to the exchange. Hi, I want to participate in the exchange but I just have two works that’s are not gifts or part of the RBB, so that invalidate me as a participant, right? But I can participate as a pitch hitter? Just to be sure, thank you.

The Midyear Exchange is currently in its creation period, but you can still offer your services as a pinch hitter! Just contact [email protected] and don’t forget to mention whether you can pinch hit art or fic, and we’ll add you to our list. If the need for a pinch hitter does arise, we will get in touch! You don’t need to meet the exhcange eligibility requirements to sign up as a pinch hitter.
Please also keep an eye out for more details about our Midyear Exchange Madness Period, where anyone can create a gift to the signed up participants of the exchange.

Hi. I posted my exchange fic yesterday the 21st but it’s still listed as unapproved. When do the posts get approved?
Hi Winterstar,Thanks for your question! There's nothing for you to be concerned about - it is just the default state pending moderation. All gifts that have been submitted to the collection will be staying unapproved until just before the deadline. This is because after approval, a "mystery gift" shows up in people's AO3 list, although it will be anonymous, and some tags are viewable.
We'll be letting people know if there's something they need to change about their work in the coming hours; if you don’t have an email from us, you’re good to go! There are 5 1/2 hours till exchange assignments are due by August 22nd 23:59 EST (what time is this for me?) at the time of this post, and we are still expecting a number of works to be submitted to us.Congratulations on submitting your gift - we hope you were inspired by your match and had a fun time creating for them! -2019 Cap-IM Midyear Exchange Mods
