The 56th Directors' Fortnight poster is adorned with the schoolboy imagination of Takeshi Kitano which features his exuberant work of art. This quirky painting emblematises the poetry, humor and burlesque of the Japanese filmmaker, actor, writer, comedian and painter. Directors' Fortnight is a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival. Details Inside.

Lebanon Cinema: A Window into the Rich Cultural Heritage of the Middle East
Lebanon has a rich cinematic history that has given birth to some of the most celebrated films of the region. Lebanese cinema offers a unique perspective into the rich cultural heritage of the Middle East, capturing the essence of Lebanese society and its unique blend of cultures.
The Birth of Lebanese Cinema
The first Lebanese film was produced in 1929, and the industry has come a long way since then. Lebanese cinema was heavily influenced by French cinema in the early years, but it has since developed its own unique style. The 1960s and 1970s marked the Golden Age of Lebanese cinema, with filmmakers such as Maroun Baghdadi, Ghassan Salhab, and Jean Chamoun leading the way. These filmmakers created films that addressed social and political issues, showcasing the diversity of Lebanese society and its complex history.

Lebanese cinema has faced numerous challenges over the years, including political turmoil, civil war, and censorship. Despite these challenges, Lebanese filmmakers have continued to create powerful films that address important social issues such as gender inequality, corruption, and sectarianism. They have also used the power of storytelling to capture the beauty and complexity of Lebanese society, showcasing its rich cultural heritage and diversity.

On the occasion of the honorary poster of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, I am posting some selected portraits I have taken of Catherine Deneuve from 1983 to 1996, for 15 years.
The first was in 1983 at the Carlton fumoir with her director friend #andrétéchiné and a few more to come...more on the fb page https://www.facebook.com/studiorassias Faces of 7th Art.
Deneuve remains the heroine of French cinema, with excellent films such as ''Les Parapluies de Cherbourg'', ''La Belle du Jour'', ''Tristana'', ''Le Sauvage'', ''La Chamade'' '' etc...and as the magazine reports Elle ''this time, the high mass of the seventh art has chosen to pay tribute to a French icon: Catherine Deneuve.
A poster produced by Hartland Villa (Lionel Avignon, Stefan de Vivies), from a black and white snapshot of Jack Garofalo, taken on the set of "La Chamade", on the beach of Pampelonne, specifies the press release

With red carpet season in full swing, there seems to be a secret behind some of the most recognizable faces at festivals and award ceremonies.
One of whom is Persian beauty Mahlagha Jaberi who has captured red carpet attention at Cannes, Venice and most recently at the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia.
Last year, Arabian Moda spent a day with Mahlagha in Cannes and spoke to her about all things red carpet.
On her advice for a first-timer she says: “Be confident, be yourself and don’t overthink it. Play with the cameras, wave, blow kisses, smile. Most importantly, have fun.”

@cannes_filmfestival 1997
Ηταν πρωτοεμφανιζόμενη ως Bess McNeil στου Lars von Trier's ''Breaking the Waves΄΄ (1996).
I met her in Cannes in 1997.
She made her debut as Bess McNeil in Lars von Trier's ''Breaking the Waves'' (1996).
I could say that he had a reserved gentleness, bordering on shyness. But that gray-blue look showed a great stubbornness, which is needed in this job called acting...
Since then her career has soared, with many outstanding roles and many awards.
