according to all known laws of aviation, the kushala daora should not be able to fly. its wings are simply too small to pull its fat metal body off the ground. the kushala daora does not care, for it flies anyways.

Hi, hello, brushing off the dust on this blog for a quick PSA/warning. I’m only posting here because I know a decent amount of MadCom fans follow me and some important shit needs to be said; There’s no comeback for me, unfortunately, at least not yet.

Some of you may know @/maddsmakara. If you don’t, now’s a good chance to know about them. First thing’s first, please, for the love of whatever god there is, BLOCK THEM. For the past year, there’s been an ongoing streak of bad things all around involving them, particularly with one of my close friends. They’re responsible for heavy psychological abuse and manipulation, which has left a horrible lasting impression on all of us.

They would constantly guilt trip anyone they came across into feeling bad for them and making everything about them. They would also mention several things about doing unpleasant things to their OCs, claiming that they were “uncomfortable discussing it with minors” (all of us had done TERRIBLE things to our OCs, so this was a pretty big red flag) but would constantly squeal at the mere mention of anything violent. They always shoved their OCs down everyone else’s throats and forced their hands in OUR characters’ lore to fit their own. Madds also would infantilize many characters, which made several people uncomfortable. I won’t go into much detail on a personal level for the sake of my friend, but I’ll update this bit of the post if I have permission to go on. Please, for your own sakes, if you’re “friends”/aqcuantances or have some kind of contact with them, block them immediately. Save yourself from the potential abuse you’ll face.

Again, if I get permission, I’ll link a full document detailing what happened with Madds and our friend group; I just don’t wanna drop something that heavy without making sure it’s okay with my friends, y’know? That being said, I’ll be happy to answer any questions about all this to the best of my ability with proof if available. We have PLENTY of screenshots saved up for multiple incidents.

Hello I am here to ask for context for that amazing fanart with Metal Sonic you did a while back

Oh hello! If you mean this one, I'd love to explain! It comes from a scene that I had planned for the original fic (but I still might use it for the rewritten one), which needs a whole bunch more explaining on its own, but the basic premise is as follows:

If you're not familiar with my AU, Shattered Hope is an anti-villain team made up of Eggman's past "allies", be it badnik or otherwise. The main three that lead the team are Zero (Infinite), Metal Sonic, and Doctor Starline.

During a training session to help Zero get a better handle on the weakened phantom ruby's powers, Metal is struck by a surge of energy by pure accident. Instead of shrugging it off since an inorganic being like him would, he's immediately overcome by an intense onslaught of terror. Since he's never felt any sort of emotion all that much, it's very confusing and just an overall mess for him. The ruby's illusions do their work and make him relove the scariest moment of his life, that being his recent escape from his creator's clutches (Robotnik had planned to dismantle him for his inability to follow orders to a T in favor of using the scrap for his newest project, Codename: Deadlocke. Metal, suddenly feeling like he actually had a life to lose, ran away before anything could happen). The intensity of the situation causes him to overheat and shut down.

This also happens to kick off his future broship with Tails since he was the one to repair the poor guy, which is something I am incredibly excited to touch up on in the far future. Far future being after the main fic is finished and I start working on the epilogue fic involving the next gen.

So glad you asked (deranged)! To make a very long story short - paraphrased from @artdragon122 , the basic gist of it is that it follows a timeline where Kale survives and the "bad guys" play nice with the "good guys". A redemption arc if you will, and that was what the original plan was.

Full rundown under cut; General TWs for child abuse and neglect (Kale is not a happy camper).

Dragon and I came up with the AU following just that - everyone is happy and coexists with one another, and it gave us a chance to insert our OCs as well. No one died (well. kind of) and there was really nothing wrong. But I think the general trend with anything I, and by extension Dragon, touch never ends up being pure and happy and blissful.

We mostly use this AU for roleplay scenarios, so the both of us have different characters assigned to one another. The most important thing you should know about this is that Dragon had the ability to handle Kale, and miraculously, turned him into the saddest most tragic wet cat of a man ever. And by that I mean we both noticed that his poor relationship with the rest of his family is. Not that great. We took the fact that neither Peppermint nor Roxanne even batted an eye at his death in the game and ran with it.

Without going too deep into it just yet, Kale was heavily neglected and abused by his mother for not being the favorite child. Peppermint was raised to think he was the scum of the earth and thus treated him as such. Spectra ended up being the result of that, and was originally filled with the intent to brainwash his mother into giving him the love and care he was never able to have. Over time it evolved into something more sinister, thus bringing the events of the game to fruition.

While the other bosses survived Chai's escapades, Kale was not so lucky. He, quite literally, exploded to bits and was very lucky to even be able to be repaired. Chai had to and continues to live with the guilt that he did wind up killing someone. As Kale recovers, Chai and his gang handle the events at the secret Spectra lab below the island. Dragon had the brilliant idea of changing the memos you usually find down there to be a log of Kale's descent into insanity. It's very eye-opening for them and changes their entire perspective on why Kale did anything at all (except for Peppermint, we'll get to that later).

A few months later, a groupchat is made (where we stsrted this whole thing) in order to help everyone get along with each other better. It does go well save for a few incidents, one involving Chai stupidly throwing himself into a "rematch" with Roquefort and barely surviving, and some unlikely friendships are made. It slowly becomes obvious that Kale has a lot more going on than originally thought, even after everything, and surprisingly Chai is able to help him and Peppermint restore their relationship as siblings who deserve to care for one another.

Although, there is a more fucked up timeline to all this where Peppermint practically undergoes a villain arc which Dragon and I have dubbed the "Cocomelon AU". That's not important right now though.

That's basically all we have in terms of canon events for now, but here's some extra info that is just a bunch of things we decided to say "fuck it" and make canon:

• Roquefort and Drake (Dragon's OC) are married but like to pretend that they aren't. They're the pinnacle of ""toxic"" yaoi (they care about each other a lot).

• Chai is hopelessly head over heels for Kale. Kale is in that mixed stage of "why do I care about him so much" and no further moves have been made despite Chai's desperate attempts to get together. They'll figure it out eventually.

• Zanzo and Mimosa kiss each other apparently and they make it everyone's problem once people find out. It's horrid (awesome).

• We can make any franchise we want canon. This includes Monster Hunter and Ultrakill. Chai and Peppermint, who are completely "normal" about UK, were able to convince Zanzo to design IRL replicas of V1 and V2.

• Chai is a streamer and a very surprisingly wealthy furry artist. His top paying commissioner is Roquefort. It makes for very funny blackmail material.

• CNMN apparently works retail.

• Chai, Kale, and Peppermint are trans.

• Kale suffers from chronic migraines and is unfortunately subjected to the effects of getting high off of high doses of ibuprofen (may or may not have caused some emotional phone calls with his sister).

Holy fucking shit this is long. We will end up making this a sideblog at some point so if any of you are interested in this AU there will be that! If Dragon sees this feel free to add on LMAO

I just read your Vandalize fanfic on AO3 and I just wanted to tell you how AMAZING it was??? It was so good and I don't think I've ever read a Hi-Fi RUSH fanfic that was so high quality before. And it was all in character too which was UUGGH it was so good. Do you have any tips for how you write?? I'm just obsessed with how you wrote the whole thing!!

TEEHEE TY!!! It was an idea I had stewing in my brain for a few days before I actually did anything with it. So glad you enjoyed it so far!

As for writing tips, I'm gonna be honest and say I overexplain things. A lot. It's like some special breed of autism for me to just describe things in intense detail because I have so much to talk about. I turn my brain off and just... write. Whenever I got stuck I utilized Sprinto on Discord for that extra motivation, plus it was fun to see how much I could write in a short timeframe. It also helps to have a few friends willing to read what I have/share ideas that I can use for the current chapter or for later ones. Believe me, the fic is only barely starting.

I also tend to overanalyze characters. Can't tell you how much time I spent rewatching playthroughs and scouring the wiki to get a feel for everyone's personalities. Hi-Fi Rush is just one of those games that captivates me like an iPad baby's daily dose of Cocomelon. It really helped to write down canon quirks, personal headcannons, and extra lore I came up with before I actually worked on the fic itself.

Shoutout to my friend Dragon for suggesting making Kale trans btw. It was subtly nodded to in the fic but will be expanded upon a lot more in a future chapter. Probably one of the best ideas he's ever had. I'm such a sucker for unlikely T4T.

I will say the themes get a lot darker later on. I turn Kale into a sopping wet cat of a man and I don't intend on holding back on making him the most tragic character I've ever written; And that's a MASSIVE bar to pass considering my work involving my Sonic and Pokémon AUs.

TY again! I probably rambled a lot here LMAO I'm just glad to see people like what I do for fun. I hope you look forward to what's in store :]
