The beauty of DnD
So this will be kind of a long one but I just have to say I love playing d&d so much and I love all the people I've met because of it!
But this post is about something very important that happened tonight at our table. A dear friend of ours @calypti who I've only known for 2 years but is an amazing person and roleplayer. She goes back home tomorrow and we are all so heart broken about losing her and we will miss her so much.
Anyways about why I love d&d, tonight we had the long awaited cathartic moment between our characters that at the beginning of the campaign no one would have seen coming. Lalami Lalami the lalafell astrologian and Bas'il the mi'qote monk confessed their love to eachother under the protective light of the goddess of love, unbeknownst to them that that their party could see everything the whole time.
Words may have failed them, but their thoughts rang true to eachother and while everyone at the table wept they kissed. Though just as our dear friend is leaving so too is her character, so after a few more tender moments together, seemingly alone and content to be in eachothers arms, she was teleported away. Given a quest by an old God to save her beloved best friend catman, and he watched weeping as she was transported away, not knowing how long she would be gone, but having faith that they would be reunited again.
Anyways I just really love how even when you start with a couple of real dingdong chaotic trash piles, you can end up with a truly heartbreaking romance that will be burned into my memory forever. Thank you kath, thank to our dm, thank you to everyone in our Friday sessions of Alphonsia. MoFos for life yall.

@eu-calypti in response to the tags you added to my post (which is a ‘dialogue’ and therefore can’t be commented on so I thought I’d address them here):
• While “a bad guy with a gun can be stopped by a good guy with a gun” is theoretically true, the instances in which this have occurred are few and far between. Even if this happened one-hundred times per year, it would sadly not even make a dent in the number of annual gun deaths in the US.
• True, illegality does not stop use. But consider what would happen if the US banned all forms of electric lawnmower. Would very dedicated individuals still manage to cut grass? Yes. Would the speed and efficiency of these individuals go down? Also yes. Is regulating guns much more thoroughly going to stop all gun violence? No. No one is saying that. But if someone is truly a “good guy,” then they should have no issue whatsoever with an extremely thorough and / or lengthy “vetting” process to obtain a firearm.
• As far as the Constitution goes, Trump has literally been sued more than 34 times since his election, including over the refugee ban. In fact, he is currently being sued for violating the Constitution because of his foreign business deals.
• Concerning the “20 vetted citizens who have been found with ties to terrorist organizations” could you provide me with a credible source on that, please? I’ve been unable to find anything that isn’t from alarmist websites and I do want to be informed. However, even if I accept that at face value, the number of refugees (the demographic I was referring to in the original post) who have carried out fatal terrorist attacks on US soil since before 1980 is literally zero. Almost all acts of terrorism, regardless of what the media calls it because oddly enough when a white boy murders black churchgoers he is not called a terrorist in our press, are committed by our own citizens.
• As for the Obama comment, no, this was not enacted by the Obama administration, though I have seen that reach several times today. What actually happened was that in 2011, the State Department delayed (not stopped) the issue of immigrant visas to Iraqi applicants because there was a possible breach in the screening of two individuals. This was enacted to enhance screening procedures, and it was issued to one country.

Aaaah wow I had such a fun time at Conbust this year! Got to hang out with a bunch of old friends and meet some cool new ones! One of the best parts was meeting a fellow Ladybug fan, @calypti! We did a little impromptu art trade, look at how cute her picture is I can’t handle it aaaah
Conbust is by far my favorite convention, I get to see all my friends from college and injure myself dancing like I never graduated
