💀 New Detail of Ghost's Hands 💀
It's a ⚠️ Major Spoiler Alert ⚠️ though.
Look I know it's the saddest scene from the entire campaign okay, but let me cope by looking at these shots of Ghost's hand okay.
Bro has beautiful fingers and nice knuckles. I think I see a liil bit of rough patches on the joints but it could be me making things up.
That skeleton gloves do their work I guess.

NO ONE TO RETURN....
What if Sigma dies instead of Soap?
(Insporation of the pose credits gonto @/sleepyconfusedpotato)
Tumblr media
Sigma gasped as her shoulder got shot by Makarov. He knocked Soap out to the ground as he and Captain Price tries to defuse the bomb, while Sigma is covering their backs. Makarov also shoots Price's shoulder, he comes up to him, putting his foot on his chest, aiming his pistol at Price's face.
"Take this to hell with you, Captain... Never bury your enemies alive..." Makarov said bluntly, until Sigma comes right behind him and stabs his shoulder with her combat knife.
Makarov grunts in pain, but he fought back. He grabs Sigma's left arm and breaks it, Price was about to get up and help, but Makarov kicks his face, throwing him on the ground again and he shots Sigma's temple, blowing her brains out. She passes out on the ground in cold blood. Soap's eyes widens in shock, And also did Price's.
Soap feels his heart shattered in thousand pieces. "NOO!!" He yelled, now seeing Sigma's dead, cold body on the ground.
Ghost and Gaz came a little too late. But arrived as quickly as they could to return the fire, "Price, Johnny, Sigma!" Ghost yelled, killing the Konni group, Makarov ran away, Price was about to stop him, but the bullet train ran right into it, losing Makarov's tracks.
"Bloody hell!" Ghost cursed.
Soap quickly runs to Sigma's lifeless body, she laid there, the blood splattered around.
"No..." Soap mutters, he carefully picked Sigma's body up, holding her in his arms, his expression turns into pain, her bright ocean blue eyes who are still open, her temple is bleeding too, he carefully brushes black bangs out of her face.
"Sigma... No...!" Soap's voice cracks into sadness, Ghost kneels down in front of them, Gaz sighs shakily. "She's gone, Captain... the bomb-- how do we stop it?"
Gaz crouches and looks at the bomb's components. Price looks at Soap who's holding Sigma in her arms, Price grits his teeth and turns into bomb.
"Alright, find the red wire. RED ONLY -- Soap said we cut it together --on "3". Copy?" Price grabbed the red wire.
"Rog. On three!" Gaz also holding the red wire, in Countdown.*
"One...Two...Three!" By that, they together cut the red wire, the beeping stopped, Price and Gaz sighed in relief, the bomb is defused. They turned their heads to Soap and Ghost, who's still examining Sigma's body, Soap is still holding her.
Price feels the pain too in his heart, Gaz has no words left out of his mouth. They lost a perfect soldier who's supporting the most dangerous situations...
Price immediately went through his comms on his vest, pushing the PTT, "All stations -this is bravo in the blind. Threat neutralized. Bomb is safe... One KIA."
Price informs it, staring at Sigma's cold body. A young, American brave ex-airwoman fought till the very end.
Soap's eyes sting in pain, then a tear fall down his cheek, he hoped Sigma would hug him back. They were close friends, they understood each other right, protecting their backs. Now she is dead, never to return.
"I'm sorry..." Soap mutters in his Scottish accent, putting his forehead against hers, he hoped it was all a nightmare, a horrible one, just a nightmare. But it's not a dream anymore, it's a cruel war, war is suicide. But the chaos is real.
They put Sigma to rest, still not ready to say goodbye, yet. Soap is not happy how it ended, the fear is running on his mind. Sigma's aunt, Lala, also fell apart, not believing her ears what she heard.
With that, the funeral began outside. The sunset is almost setting, giving beautiful red colors in the sky.  Gaz, Soap, Price, and Ghost. Of course, Sigma's allies and soldiers from the Air Force academy, they also cared about her. Soap is lost in thought, with no emotions in his eyes.  Sigma's aunt, Lala brought Ruby in the furenal, she runs to the coffin and puts her paws on it, the coffin is also coverd with American flag. Ruby whimpers softly in sadness, putting her paws on the ground and lays down.
With that, a young woman, who has red hair and amber eyes, puts her hand on the coffin, paying respect.
"Aim High... Fly-Fight-Win... You were one of the best, Connors... Sleep easy." She says with full in emotions, tears in her eyes.
Soap remembers something that he wouldn't never forget... Sigma promised them when the chaos is over, they'll go to the Hawaii, make a vacation to relax. Now it's no use, and he knows the chaos will never stop...
With that, he feels something inside, like Sigma is hugging him, because she is...
"Yep, I know I made my promise, but you should move on. I'm leaving everything to you. Goodbye, Johnny..."
.
Okay, I wrote this 2 months ago after Cod mwiii was released, again. I'm sorry for this. This is originally posted on Ao3, but I fixed a few stuff here. So yea, don't attack me... I'm not a good writer so I apologize.

MAJOR mw3 spoilers under the cut // my thoughts
(contains who dies in mw3 basically)
You know my personal headcanon for Soap has always been that he was raised by a single mom, mama's boy, she cried when Soap got enlisted, worrying about being alone without her beloved son around.
Can you imagine how she felt when 141 brought Soaps dog tags back to her?

Ayo! CoD is one of the most underwhelming games I've ever tried to play. Like growing up I hated CoD and I still don't really like it. The campaigns are not all that compelling at all. However I will say this: where the fuck is Garrick? (Spoilers after the photo)
Tumblr media
They've got the dead one, the traumatized one, and the chronic smoker. Wtf? Damn not even Little Ceasars acknowledges that Gaz is 141.
This is so sad, Alexa play despacito.

ONE LAST DRINK, BROTHER...
⚠️CALL OF DUTY MW3 SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT!! ⚠️
I was so sad about Soap's death. And I wanted to write a small fic about how Sparrow would handle it. 🥺
Words: 1.546
Let's add a little more drama with this song😭
Tumblr media
Sparrow's hands were still shaking. The fresh scars burned inside her, still hurting when she moved. They were deep, too deep.
She still had flashes, every time she closed her eyes she still had the vision of the mountain falling on top of her. Her brother's screams, the rocks, the sharp ice, the lack of oxygen, the blood. K2 was a shark that hunted her every night with nightmares and memories of the accident. When was the last time she was able to sleep? Maybe ten months ago, when she was in a fucking coma for weeks.
She believed she was ready to return, she had recovered from her injuries, she could walk, she had exercised. She was strong again. She thought she could go back to 141 and go back to what she was before. Oh birdie... how wrong you were...
Now there is a before and after. There always is. The Sparrow from before the accident on K2 is not the same as now. You don't think you're immortal anymore, do you? You have played arm wrestling with death and you have lost, only death has let you win, it wants to play with you a little more.
Hannah was brought out of her thoughts when the sound of a bottle being placed on the table was heard over that lonely dining hall at 3 in the morning.
She raised her head. Smiling but sleepy blue eyes looked at her.
"Being a bad lass and staying up late, birdie?"
Sparrow forced a smile.
"If it was up to me I would sleep for days but..."
Soap also placed two glasses on the table and sat next to her.
"But K2 doesn't let you sleep." Soap finished the sentence. Always with a small smile, it wasn't evil, nor was it trying to make fun of Sparrow. He did it so Sparrow would smile back at him.
And Sparrow did it. She returned the smile.
"Yeah... I never thought a bloody mountain could chase me that far. It doesn't even have fucking legs."
Soap chuckled.
"Well, Dr. Soap has come here to help you." He placed the bottle in front of Sparrow.
"Scotch?" Sparrow raised an eyebrow. "You think getting drunk will cure my trauma? Have you heard of therapy, Johnny?"
"Yeah, but this is cheaper." John winked at her as he opened the bottle. "And we all go to therapy and it doesn't help one bit."
He managed to get a laugh out of Hannah.
"You're just using me as an excuse to drink inside the base." Sparrow rolled her eyes but the smile didn't go away, even her hands stopped shaking.
"Hey, the boss does it all the time in his office and no one tells him anything. Even Ghost drinks with him from time to time." Soap poured the amber liquid into both glasses. "Besides, you're not going to deny your brother from another mother a drink, are you?"
Sparrow chuckled and shook her head.
"Every time I say no, you chase me like a fucking hawk."
"Because I have good eyesight! I know when you need a drink. And you always end up giving in."
He pushed one glass toward Hannah and raised the other.
"What do you want to toast?" Soap asked.
"Do you want to toast?" Sparrow raised her eyebrows.
"It's very sad to drink without toasting. Come on Sparrow, I know you'll think of something."
Sparrow thought for a moment and then raised the glass. She looked her friend in the eyes and smiled.
"For fucking K2 who couldn't kill me. And for our deaths to be the most unforgettable of all!"
"And may the Valkyries call our name when the time comes!"
They both clinked their glasses and downed the Scotch in one gulp. Sparrow scrunched up her face as the alcohol burned her throat, but the scars hurt less now.
"And?"
"What?" Sparrow looked at him, confused
"Do you still believe that Irish Whiskey is better than Scotch?" Soap raised his eyebrows.
Sparrow chuckled.
"I think I have to drink a little more to make up my mind." Sparrow poured herself and Soap some more.
John laughed.
"This Scotch is not just any Scotch, my friend."
They both toasted again and drank. There was a comfortable, calm silence.
"So you finally took the title." Soap spoke again after a while of drinking in silence.
"Title? What title?" Sparrow asked strangely.
"From the ugliest person in 141." Soap laughed.
Sparrow laughed too and stroked the scars on her face.
"Are you saying that because now my scars are bigger than yours?"
"Partly yes. But you know I'm bloody handsome."
Sparrow rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say Mr. Humble."
Soap laughed again.
"Hey, do they hurt? The scars."
"Well, yes... it's something I'll have to learn to live with..." Sparrow stared into the glass.
"We learn to live with many things. And some we have to let go. As you often say, we have to cut the rope." Soap patted Sparrow's shoulder.
"Yes... cut the rope..."
________________
The wind chilled her hands. She didn't care, nothing could matter anymore. The clouds roared, spitting thunder, threatening a storm. But nothing mattered to her.
The grass was stirred and the waves crashed aggressively against the cliff. Scotland was crying. Just like her, although she had no tears left to cry.
Sparrow was sitting on a rock watching the angry sea. She was angry too. It had taken her months to return since his ashes were thrown away. She wasn't able to go back. But she had to do it.
She sighed and looked back. Amara, her girlfriend, was there waiting for her. Hannah had asked her for a moment alone with her friend, with her brother from another mother as he used to say. Amara hugged Hannah's coat, she was very cold. It broke her heart to see Hannah like this, so broken, so... Amara still remembered the day Hannah came home, how happy she was to see her girlfriend return home after so long, and how the world had changed when she fell to the ground. When Hannah dropped to her knees and started crying and screaming just a second after getting off her bike. Amara never really liked soldiers, 141 especially, but Soap was the exception. And she cried too.
Hannah was no longer the same. Amara knew it. As always, there is a before and after. For everything.
Amara smiled sadly waiting for Hannah to smile back but she never did. Instead, she turned her gaze to the sea.
She sighed and opened the backpack she had between her boots. She took out a Scotch and two glasses. The same old bottle from that night. She never touched it, she always said she would drink it at the right moment. Well, that moment has arrived, little bird. So she poured the liquid into the glasses and grabbed one. She didn't drink, she didn't like to drink without toasting. Drinking without toasting is too sad.
She played with the glass trying to think of what to say to him.
"I've tried to cut the rope... All these months I've tried." Sparrow's lower lip trembled. "But every time I tried to cut it, the knife gets caught in the threads and gets stuck."
She sobbed a little.
"Maybe because it's not time to cut it yet." She looked up at the waves again.
The wind froze her face.
"I'm going to find that son of a bitch, Johnny... And I'm going to make him pay for what he did." She nodded slightly a few times. "And after that, I'll be done, sarge. 141 won't need me anymore, and I won't need them either."
She took a breath and let it out shakily. The tears had already come, rolling down her cheeks and freezing halfway. The cold didn't matter to her, nothing mattered to her anymore.
"Rest for now. Just wait for me..." she looked at the glass. "C’mon. One last drink, brother."
She sighed again and raised the glass to toast.
"May the Valkyries welcome you and lead you though Odin's great battlefield. May they sing your name with love and fury. John "Soap" MacTavish. So that we might hear it rise from the depths of Valhalla and know that you've taken your rightful place at the table of kings, for a great man has fallen. A warrior. A sergeant. A friend. A brother."
She clicked her glass with the one resting on the rock and drank the scotch in one gulp. As always, she scrunched up her face as she felt the alcohol burn her throat.
She put the glass next to the other and stood up. She looked at the sea a little longer when the sound of a hawk made her look away. She looked up, the bird was circling around her. Sparrow smiled, whistled, and the hawk responded.
"You're a little far from home my friend. Although maybe you found a new one here..." she looked at the horizon again "There's always a before and after."
Se grabbed the backpack and left with Amara. Leaving both glasses and the bottle there. Knowing that the rest of the 141 would return to have one last drink with him.

The Ending of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 is good actually.
Don't get me wrong- it's bad for what it intended. And it's shitty writing. As a piece of pro-military propaganda it failed at glamorising war and death by killing Soap in the most casual and accidental way.
But as a true depiction of violence, war and male disposability the ending shows how little imperial war machines care about life and the individual. Hence, by failing it's propagandistic goal the ending is more honest and "better" than what was to be expected.

Just declined going to a movie with my friend on Friday citing that it was because I had to study when in actuality I will be watching the download bar of MW3 and hitting "Start Game" as soon as that baby hits 100% and not leaving the view of my TV until that campaign is done.
And yes, it is so I can binge on new GhostSoap moments as soon as possible.
And yes, I've already been spoiled, but remember, I am a prequel/TCW Star Wars girly first. Canon has no power over me.

Thinking of army dreamers by Kate bush and soap’s family hearing about his death - especially his mom.
I don’t really know how this death announcement would go, but I think it’s either by call or in person. For the sake of this post, imagine it’s in person. As much as I’d like for ghost to be there to maximise the angst potential, I hate mischaracterisation and I really think he wouldn’t be there.
I can’t imagine anyone other than price who would announce the news. He was soap’s captain after all, and he would feel the most responsible for him. ( esp because he could have prevented his death if only he let soap kill makarov right then and there but we’re getting off track-)
I know most people like to think soap has a good family who he loves, but going by the lore from his backstory I feel like he would have problems at least with some parts of his family due to him running off to the army at such a young age. I like to headcanon that he has a bunch of problems with his dad; it’s like they weren’t related at all, if bit by most of his features being a carbon copy on soap’s face. (He hates it with his entire being.) but he gets along just fine with the rest of his family. He loves his ma, no matter how much he can’t understand why she got married to him, and has a loving but slightly strained relationship with his sisters (2). They never know what to do with soaps explosive personality, how to calm him down, how to prevent the arguments from getting worse. His father passed a few years after soap signed up for SAS, dying from alcohol poisoning and lung cancer as a cherry on top. Soap wasn’t there to wish him goodbye.
When the knock happened on the door, his Ma was listening to the radio, almost missed the knock, if not for it knocking again, sharper, harder. Elaine MacTavish liked to pride herself on knowing her children more than they knew themselves. So when she awoke a few days ago, covered in a cold nervous sweat and a tightening in her chest, her mind pricking ands searching for what could possibly be wrong. She had phoned her kids right away, knowing she wouldn’t come in touch with her John-boy, he had told her he might be uncontactable foe a few days, he had sounded tired, but excited. “Finally puttin’ tha sick bastard to hell, this time Ma I swear.” He sounded so resolute, her precious boy. As she dried her hands on a towel, uneasiness feeling from a few days ago still not settled, the from door clicked open with a slight squeak from old age and rust, seeing her boy’s captain standing there like a stone figure. Elaine knows army boys were rough, her son’s task force even rougher. she had once thought that with pride swelling in her chest which now deflated and left a pit in her stomach as the captain of that exact Taskforce seemed like a sad puppy with his tail between his legs.
Elaine knew how hard her son had become; she had been there since his soft chubs melted into awkward, lanky limbs that had eventually hardened into sharp edges, 5 o’clock shadows, more and more scars littering her baby boy. It had been too much, it was almost too much. But every time he had come home with a blinding smile, the mischievous twinkle in his eye every time he replies with “that’s confidential.” to his family’s curious questions, the flush if excitement on his face when he talks about all the amazing places and people he’s met, it made all her worries melt away. It had made it worth it. But one part of her thought that he was somehow invincible, he was going to be honourably discharged with numerous glittering medals and a beautiful wife at his elbow (lmao) and live a long and happy life. She supposes that if she considered anything else, she wouldn’t know how to bear with the pure agonising despair that would wreck her already frail body. John’s confidence was contagious, the way she had so blindingly believed that her son was invincible. She doesn’t believe that anymore.
