Lou Henry Hoover School, Whittier, California, USA Built in 1938 Architect: William Harrison. The sculpted mural frieze is by Bartholomew (Bartolo) Mako and stands over the school's main entrance. It depicts a scene of the early Quakers who founded the city of Whittier more than one hundred years ago. Lou Henry Hoover was President Herbert Hoover's wife.
