Jester urging Beau to consider forgiving her dad makes my hackles go up every single time and every single time, I have to admire Laura's play here. Because it WASN'T the right thing to say at all, but it is absolutely the way Jester sees the world and her own parents, especially her father. And all Jester wants to do is help. INSPIRED choice to pull Beau aside and make it worse. I hate it so much.

i understand all the laughs out of "we trust you most the most untrustworthy person in exandria" to essek, but I think his reaction is. so on point. for him, that meant they value him, that their trust in him is more important than, well, quite an incredible amount of power trent and the volstruckers could have brought with him. they trust their odds with him better. caleb, a person who, i think essek thinks, has a similar math brain to essek, does trust their odds with him better. for a person as calculating as essek is... of course, it would have cracked him up. it's (partially) because of this awareness of their choice away from potential power, i think, he says, "i hope to make this up to you."

I’m on the first happy fun ball episode of my rewatch, and nothing is funnier than the fact that Fjord touches the ruby and vanishes and then the rest of them DICK AROUND in the study and get into a battle with a cabinet. all the while, we know Fjord is about to appear with a dragon and have to wait a gazillion rounds before anyone else in the party shows up

Taliesin telling Jester/Laura about Molly's tarot card deck 😭 He had so much he wanted to do with that deck, so much love went into developing it. The depth of what we didn't get to see, even when I love what developed through c2, sometimes hits me hard.

Rewatching c2 and finding so many beautiful scenes I've completely forgot about, like the entirety of ep41 - the Nein as confusingly gentle pirates, powder mokney Nott, the magic paintbrush... Exactly the type of episode I needed after a fucked up day.

the early vibes of c2 were so nice they literally got out of prison and were just like "well shit where should we go" and basically picked a spot on the map and headed somewhere just for the hell of it and stuck together cuz they had nowhere better to be

beau got a lot of shit from the fandom for constantly poking at caleb and questioning his motives in the first half of the campaign but honestly she should get a lot more credit for it (especially from caleb fans) bc it's her pushing that forced him to be honest which made him a better person in the end

holding mollymauk “i don’t care what terrible things any of you have done, you’re here now” tealeaf and caleb “i believe in second starts and that’s enough for me” widogast like barbies and smushing their faces together to make them kiss

Things you realize on a third rewatch: Beau is the first member of the Mighty Nein to say "I love you" to another member of the Nein, and that member was in fact Caleb. Did she say it in passing? Kind of. Did she say it pre-bowlgate, at a time when they weren't even done hissing at each other yet? Yes. Does she possess the bleeding heart everyone can see from thirty paces except for her? Absolutely.

(Caleb is the first to say it altogether, but he is talking to his spirit cat in all fairness. Still. The first two "I love yous" in this campaign are from the two people who are affected the most by the new family they've made and who champion it the hardest. And that's something.)
