C.A. Jensen (June 26, 1792 - 1870) was a Danish painter of the Golden Age.
Jensen was a pioneer of the small scale ‘intimate’ portrait painting that became fashionable in the 1830s. He had studied at the Danish Royal Academy, but skipped off to Dresden after winning the Silver Medal. From there it was on to Vienna, Northern Italy, and finally Rome where he joined the Thorvaldsen circle of Danish ex-pat artists.

"Hans Christian Andersen" by C.A. Jensen (1836)
I love the highlights on the fingernails, something that my current art teacher also emphasizes.
There are a few off details. The line of the eyes and forehead is more horizontal than the line of the mouth and nose. The nose is probably a tad long unless HCA had an exceptionally elongated face. The sleeve that is closest to the viewer is too far out and the folds of the cloth are perfunctory. All the same, the overall effect is good and provides a lively portrait of Andersen.

Thank you all for joining me at C.A.
My name is Ary, and I've been addicted to Cockles for seven years. They started wrecking my life the moment I saw Jensen jump off the stage to get Misha's resume. I haven't been the same since. My relationships have suffered. I don't sleep anymore. I cry for no reason. I used to think they just made me happy, but now I know, they are actually killing me. This worst part is, I don't want to them stop. I don't think they could even if I did want them to.
I am an addict, I will admit that, but Jensen and Misha turned me into one, and it is both the worst and happiest thing in my life.

The artist's wife | Christian Albrecht Jensen | 1844 | National Gallery of Denmark
“To the patriotic art critics of the Golden Age of Danish painting, the internationally-minded style of painting adopted by the portrait painter C.A. Jensen was suspicious due to its use of rapid brushstrokes. The artist left them unfinished on his portraits of common and prominent citizens alike. The style imbued his portrayals with a fleeting quality that ethical gazes might regard as non-committal. The portrait of the artist’s wife, Cathrine, features the same style of painting. However, the model’s appearance is reproduced from a timeless perspective. Cathrine’s right hand in front of her lap and the multi-coloured turban forming a halo around her head are quotations from canonical depictions of women within European art history, specifically from ancient statues of Venus holding her hands to modestly cover her bosom and sex, and the Renaissance painter Raphael’s portrait of his mistress, La Fornarina, wearing a similar turban."

Born June 26, 1792 - d. 1870, Danish painter of the Golden Age, C.A. Jensen…
Among Jensen’s many portraits of famous Danes, I’ve picked this 1836 likeness of Hans Christian Andersen, as the Americans like to call our fairy tale writer...
The canvas is currently at Odense Bys Museer.

Expected Results
Before buying into the idea of educating inmates, one needs to understand the expectations. First, Wilson, Gallagher, and MacKenzie (2000) stated that work and educational programs are expected to reduce problematic behaviors within the facilities because inmates are engaging in more productive behavior (Wilson, Gallagher, MacKenzie, 2000). That alone is a positive result that eases the stress of the inmates as well as the correctional guards.
Secondly, “the skills learned in correctional education programs aids offenders in becoming self-efficient upon release by providing them with tangible skills and knowledge that is used to support themselves upon release from prison” (Jensen & Reed 2006). Correctional programs provide more for the inmates than just a basic education. As students, they develop confidence in their abilities and learn that they can be self-sufficient. In a 1976 study, McCormick acknowledged that the educational programs “provide real hope for inmates” (MacCormick, 1976). These individuals are capable of taking the lessons they’ve learned from hardships and applying them to their education. Bennet (2015) found that an individual’s  “…past experiences and resiliency during difficult times may have an impact on motivation, participation, and success in correctional education programs” (Bennett, 2015).
