parker was WORRIED –– more than the usual, slight anxiety of something wrong happening, of potentially losing someone, of constantly wondering if that was the last conversation he’d have with a person. he was always in that state of fear. but this was different –– the moment he’d read autumn’s text, his heart started racing. can you please come over? i’m not okay. he’d excused him from rehearsal with the jazz band ( dick move, as the lead of the rhythm section, but he’d ask for forgiveness later ), and found himself at her doorstep in a matter of moments. i’m coming. be there soon, he’d texted before immediately pocketing his phone and running over.
he knocked twice, not harshly, not gently. he couldn’t stand still –– his hands were shaking … he knew he’d have to set his feelings ( whatever they were ) aside, and just BE there for her. parker had sort of subconsciously avoided her since the night of the party, not sure how he would react to seeing her, knowing she’d been with someone else that night. it was silly, he should have just been NORMAL –– and that’s how he’d be, now. he had to be. “autumn? it’s me,” he called out through the door, concern painting his words.

he felt like a stranger in a crowd of people he couldn’t recognize. he didn’t want to – parker still felt on edge, like he wasn’t SUPPOSED to be here, like he would just cause even more trouble if he stuck around longer than he intended. come in, talk to the cromwells, and leave. that had been his plan, and he was planning on sticking to it, that is, until he spotted the back of a beautiful, pink, floral dress that parker just had a FEELING about. it had taken only two quick glances for parker to confirm his suspicions about the owner, and one quick sweep to determine that she wasn’t busy with someone else. “so … uh, a little birdy told me you don’t have anyone to dance with,” he said into her ear from behind her, before sweeping into her field of view. he smiled at her, trying his hardest to not make this AWKWARD, given that he wasn’t autumn’s date. he wasn’t sure if she even had one, but he couldn’t be too careful. “is that still true?”

Ramon had been having a rough time lately, to say the least. It seemed he didn't have the right things to say at the right times with anyone in his life. What he needed was a large fishbowl full of whiskey, but he made his way into a small coffee shop instead. Not usually a coffee guy, but he figured it'd at least help him get through a day of running errands without falling asleep by noon. He stalks up to the counter to place his order, realizing he didn’t know what half the shit on the menu was. Deciding to play it safe, he ordered a regular coffee with two sugar, no milk. A sigh escapes him as he makes his way to the opposite side of the counter, waiting for his coffee to be made. He found himself zoning out as he looked out onto the street, not hearing it the first time his name was called.

“Don’t tell me you didn’t miss this face,” he chuckles softly, leaning against the door frame. There’s liquor in his hands but this time, no beer. Vodka and rum instead, and with mixer options. He wasn’t about to show up empty handed, especially not when he’d worked double shifts all week, hardly having any time to see her. So, he opted for something a little more... Well, more. He’d missed her, it could be seen in his eyes as clear as day, the way they lit up at the sight of her.

He found himself opening the door and speaking aloud into the thin air. “Before you kill me, nothing happened,” he felt the need to clarify that. “She punched someone I guess,” he shrugs as he removes his boots and jacket, waiting for her to pop up in front of him.

Ramon slipped on his never-worn black leather jacket and ruffled up his hair a bit before he made it out the door. He lights up a cigarette for the drive over, music loud enough to hurt one’s ears, although he liked it that way. Finally, he pulls up to her apartment and parks the car, sends her a quick text that he’s made it and makes his way up to the lobby of her apartment. He’s in such a good mood that he’s even whistling as he goes, all the way up until he knocks on her door.

Autumn and Valencia
Has to convince the other(s) to go to a party/leave the house: They both go back and forth on whether they want to go to the party they’ve been invited to and eventually decide to just go because if they don’t all of their friends will be texting them asking where they are
Drinks too much and has to be driven home: They take a car
Makes a bunch of resolutions (do they keep them?): They’ve been making them since they were younger but never really follow through with them
Gets drunk quicker: They are drinking at the same pace so they’re pretty even
Is scared to open the champagne bottle/passes it to the other(s): Autumn passes it to Valencia because she thinks she’s going to hit someone in the head or something lmfao
Initiates kissing the other(s) at midnight: Autumn is leading the way up the stairs and Valencia is the one pushing Autumn up against a wall when they do get to a private space
Wishes there wasn’t such a big fuss over it all: Kinda both but kinda neither
Wants to clean the whole house: N/A it’s not their house
Goes a little overboard with confetti: Autumn is throwing it in people’s faces all night

Wishes there wasn’t such a big fuss over it all: Caroline because she’s trying to like let go of the past and it’s always been a big deal in her neck of the woods and she’s just over that life so she’s glad she has a shift that night
Wants to clean the whole house: not a thing
Goes a little overboard with confetti: Desi is throwing it out at the ‘crowd’ while she’s on the bar dancing weeee
Makes a cheesy toast: Caroline and she’s drunk and not making any sense, something along the lines of “im so happy i work heerreee”

“Normally you’d say no my ass.” Autumn snorted and took the candy cane out of Valentina’s mouth. She stuck it in her own and passed over the big bundle of ribbon she’d been holding. “You can’t say no to me.” She grinned and knocked her hip against her girlfriends. “Besides, it gonna be fun... and if we get bored of this then I’ll just ask Lindy to wrap them.” Autumn figured that she and Valentina would get about three presents deep into the giant stack she had to wrap. After that they’d be too bored and distracted and Lindy, Autumn’s second favorite person in the world, would take over. But she wouldn’t officially be in the Christmas spirit if she didn’t attempt to wrap a few gifts.
