Yk what I want? I want a very early stages post canon labrumisu, but from Chilchuck's POV.

Imagine mister 'interparty romance is the devil' visiting court just to see these three circling each other like a pack of uniquely unhinged cats. And of course he sees it immediately, he's nothing if not perceptive and he's seen this happen so, so many times before. Kabru is hardly subtle in his fascination with Laios, who trusts him in turn more than nearly anybody else. He can see how close Mithrun and Kabru still are, even when there's little reason for the former captain to even stay in Melini. He can see where this is going. And he can see the disaster it's gonna end up in.

So he's just staring at them in horror, trying to figure out what in the world the dynamic here even is and glaring daggers at Kabru all the while for seemingly being the linchpin of this entire bullshit situation. King, his adviser and a fucking foreign noble?? Who thought THAT was a good idea! Is nobody else seeing this?? (no lol) Why is nobody objecting to this politically unsound love triangle that could literally ruin the kingdom they've only just established??

The anger! The distress! The despair when he first sees Laios getting all giddy when Mithrun so much as talks to him. Because hell, now he can't even blame the entire situation on one pretty boy insisting on having fingers in every possible pie, on political and personal level both!

And then they just. Quietly get together. All three of them. And Chil's just watching from the sidelines in complete bafflement because he's invented infinite worst case scenarios for how this will implode in all of their faces and destroy their friend group and topple the entire country and--

Instead they do. This. He'd be relieved if he wasn't so goddamn mad that he's spent months worrying about this shit just for them to resolve it in the least dramatic way possible.

Fuck this, he's taking a holiday.

oh so when moth flight has kittens as a medicine cat and gives them away to strangers, one of which let his own son die and considered killing babies, because she can’t deal and somehow cant ask her clanmates to help, shes noble and brave and wise and shaped things for generations to come and she gets to die peacefully with all her children being like “wow mom that was so cool of you, we’re so happy and you are so smart and epic”, but when leafpool has kittens as a medicine cat and gives them to her sister who she knows wont mistreat them, she’s treated like shit by most people around her and shes so unforgivable that her children can’t help but snark about this at her funeral and shes almost sent to cat hell. ok

#no lets talk abt how fucked up moth flight was for that actually. like heres the thing atleast the three grew up together #at least they had a family at least they were happy. and they were too young to remember leafpool nursing them #so its understandable when theyre mad but leaf did what she could with the circumstances #moths kittens were attached to her and each other and her clanmates. and she ripped them from all of that #this was FAR from her only option like the rule wasnt even set at that point. her hand was not forced at ALL #yes she struggled but she was not by herself and she didnt have stigma around it stopping her #not to mention uh. clear sky held her hostage a few chapters before. he let his own son die over his pride.#hes considered killing kittens before for the sake of it.#but he ''deserves'' her child more bc he lost a son and this is so cute and wholesome for him #even tho he hates outsiders and treats them like shit #nah lets demonize moth flight a bit more for this bc she was actually so morally fucked up and in the wrong for this #and it drives me crazy how this is not portrayed as a heinous act but a bittersweet noble sacrifice thats shes rewarded for #ntm leafpool only suffered as bad as she did over moth flights actions.#echoed voice

still not entirely sure how to feel about how its not at all a professional relationship and also what exactly is the age gap here and also there’s the problem with that power imbalance they have but im ignoring all of that for now and hoping they resolve it later

BUT YES. YEAH. Like The Day Of he's just paralyzed with worry and caught between wanting to do something and not wanting to go against Aoki... maybe at most he chances calling Arakawa telling him to be careful, because that's not too conspicuous given his role in the dissolution, but Arakawa just gives him the old I'll Be Fine Worry About Yourself... and, you know, why shouldn't he; they've always had their enemies and he's Arakawa the Assassin, he can handle himself... he can let himself have that fleeting hope, but deep down... and THEN he finds out and has to act like he didn't mean anything to him and has to go back to his duties like nothing happened... OUGH

Can I just say. Literally such an insane fucking series of scenes in Coin Locker Baby. Because you get Jo's despondence when he's saying he might have killed Arakawa--he's being a bitch to provoke Ichiban into a fight, but it's also an admission his inaction played a part, isn't it... and then you get him expressing that he's familiar with Ichiban's need to protect Arakawa... and then you get the sheer desperation and insistence in his voice when he says he could never kill him... and then you get--I'm not totally sure how clear it is in English--but you get him actively saying his feelings go deeper than Ichiban's without really explaining how... and then you get the tinge of fondness when he's thinking back on the old days when Arakawa lived up to his name... Like. Why Did They Do That. Any Of That.

ALSO. GOD. I've gotten so much shit the past couple days because I said I want to lock Jo, Kume, and Tendo in a room for five minutes For My Entertainment. Reading those tags felt like coming home honestly 😭 Like, even Ichi was ready to kill someone over Arakawa, and Jo was out here threatening to disembowel people [in the dub]. And I Think They Should Be Allowed To. As A Treat. So FOR REAL the biggest "I'm so glad we get to talk" 😭😭😭

On that note genuinely so funny that I took an extra ten minutes re-rendering the video because I forgot to put the "flashback" part in Arakawa's subtitles at first but then nobody read it 😭

But it's also something I've been mulling over because I'm delusional. Getting actors as high-profile as Nakai and Takei back for just A Flashback is kinda crazy to me because Arakawa and Jo's screen-time took up a full four percent of the entire game [over ten percent of the cutscenes] originally. But then if it's multiple flashbacks equivalent to that... what exactly is going on here that the past is so intertwined...

And Because My Brain Is Evil there is the fact that technically speaking, Yokoyama only said that line was from a flashback, and specified Arakawa wouldn't be appearing in the main story. Now of course a normal person would interpret that as him reassuring the audience he won't appear in any present-day scenes, but part of me was like. Oh So A Side Story Is On The Table [<- it's not it's fucking not it will not be in a million years]

Okay. So ya’ll know how in AoC Terrako just… time travels, abducts the new champions, and tosses them in the past- thus creating a new branching timeline??? Similar to how the “adult” and “child” timelines are a thing???

Imagine Iliana figuring out how to play the Song of Time and Hylia deciding to just yeet her into the past the second she gets the notes right.

She would be so confused.

One second she’s playing by the statue, the next the statue’s gone. Sidon is a baby. Mipha’s alive. Link has no scars and is no longer missing part of an ear. King Dorephan doesn’t recognize her. Zelda hasn’t awakened her powers yet.

Doesn’t take long to figure out what just happened.

But oh BOY she has no idea to get back. How doth one play the Song of Time backwards??? Will Hylia even let it work if she tried??? No idea. Probably not. Iliana has many concerns.

Her biggest one, though, having not met Terrako yet as she appeared in the Zora’s Domain, is how the she’s gonna keep Mipha alive. Also who keeps giving baby!Sidon weapons ten times his size???

Iliana: “What are you holding?”

Baby!Sidon, ready to go hunt a Lynel: “A spear.”

Iliana: “No-!”

Also lowkey Mipha wondering if she’ll ever get to see Iliana in the future and Iliana honestly not knowing because her being there is literally due to divine intervention, and with the champions saved there’s really no reason for Hylia to save her life in a hundred years.

Iliana: “…Okay, so, give it like… ninety-seven, ninety-eight years. Lurelin Village. To be safe. Because in a hundred “I” might be dead.”

Mipha: “What.”

Iliana: “Yeah, no, it’s a whole thing. Pretty sure Bokoblins are the cause. Anyway; go to Lurelin, find a pair of twin boys; they’re “my” little brothers. “I” should be there too. Link won’t be there for me to travel with to get me to go to Zora’s Domain since he’ll be an old man, so ya’ll are gonna have to search for “me”, lol.”

Que Mipha being confused in 98 years after Sidon returns from Lurelin with two tiny twin kiddos and a woman who should be Iliana but is named Iliandra, and they all look like they’ve been through hell- with the exception of Sidon, who appears very angry over something.

And then Mipha raging when Sidon tells her what happened and she just fucking adopts Sarian and Medkah right off the bat because how dare anyone hurt a child, they’re her kids now, she’s healing them and raising them, and no one can tell her otherwise. Grandpa Link is amused.

Iliandra has absolutely no idea why she’s here in Zora’s Domain or why a pair of shark siblings are being very doting and protective towards her and her lil’ twin bros, but anywhere is better than where they were before.

Also they’re very pretty.

Iliandra did not know she had a thing for Zora until ten foot tall gentle giant Sidon showed up in Lurelin and just fucking growled at her parents, showcasing his very pretty and very sharp teeth, before telling her he was here to take her and her brothers somewhere safe and she just went, “y’know what? Sure.” because she was literally debating whether she should try running away soon when he appeared. A shark man can’t be worse than her parents, right???

She just wasn’t expecting him to be a prince.

A prince who is trying very hard to woo her, and is the absolute sweetest to her little bros. Also his sister, the crown princess, is so nice??? Mipha and her super old Hylian husband treat her like she’s an old friend. It’s kinda weird, but also Iliandra doesn’t hate it. Mipha makes sure Iliandra knows how to fight too, in case she ever gets attacked. Sidon teaches the boys how to use tridents.

Iliandra had no idea she was so good with a bow.
