this is just a me issue but theres two reasons why my first period fucked me up so much - one was because it was confirmation that my body was becoming a "woman" and i didnt want that, i always thought growing up that thered be a day where id get to stop pretending to be a girl and grow up and be a man, but the second thing is because i got mine pretty early like 4th or 5th grade and i didnt know what it was beforehand. i think that both of these issues can be addressed and resolved with better reproductive education for people at appropriate ages
