once again lost in the sauce of crochet pattern planning. i did my swatches and worked out a rough gauge for the front of the pattern so that's all sorted out. the back is pretty much the same. except for a kind of 'yoke' back panel in a very intermediate flower mesh pattern which i have to calculate very carefully so yh once i get tht worked out i'll be done with the top. gotta figure out the sleeves but they will be set in again so when i come to tht i just have to figure out if i wanna put one mesh flower in it or not.

Okay important and genuine message from me. I'm not much or often a poster on timblr but if I can give a sincere message. It's to have varied interests. Be into multiple things at once. It doesn't have to be the same intensity for all of them or level of interest or whatever. Hell not all of it has to be good. Just have multiple things to look forward to and care about

I know this is probably not anything profound and maybe people have already said the same thing... But in regards to you talking about your creative writing struggles, just write it. Yeah maybe it sounds stiff and shitty. Doesn't matter. Just write it. Speaking from experience, if you always let that get in the way you'll never actually write and get better.
So just write it, even if it sucks. That's what editing is for.
This is my weird attempt of encouragement but seriously I really hope you can reach a point where the creativity is flowing freely and you enjoy it :)

#really im usually a very confident writer. im very comfortable in my world of essays chapters and theses.#but this time it's not argumentative writing and i keep writing it like im trying to persuade my audience#it's coming across as so unnecessarily defensive of the story even before it's fully introduced#from a mechanical standpoint i know it's solid. but it reads as alternately soulless and insecure. distractingly so.#I'm still determined to finish it and i know it won't be a long piece#but it's hard not to feel like im presenting the story like data points in an evidence arc rather than plot points in a narrative arc#and yes yes I'll edit#but it's less about style and more about composition and scale#im so used to 'make your assertion; provide evidence; analyse your case study to demonstrate your assertion'#that even when the sentences are well formed and individual bits sound ok it still feels like...#idk what it feels like. sparknotes? or a powerpoint presentation of the plot like a pitch meeting?#again ill still write it#i like the idea and im determined to get it down#im not about to give up because im not instantly amazing at something i havent even seriously attempted since i was 14#in all likelihood if i get it to a place i like I'll probably submit it somewhere anonymously or under a pseudonym#and wash my hands of it content that i got it out of my head#asks#anon

oh jeez probably ridgefic?? which is funny bc on reread i do think its got some sloppy parts and you can definitely tell i wrote it out of order and in like four days but also i like how it came out a lot!!!!! there's a lot of dyssol Vibes i wanted to get in there and i think they came out well HOWEVER THAT SAID

#original entry#im going to vent about art stuff#so feel free to skip this#so im frustrated bc drawing has been so hard for me this past year and if yall couldnt tell im not really making any art definitely not post#ing it. im aware its one of those things thatll only get worse the less i do it bc PRACTICE IS IMPORTANT#but my life this past year has been all over the place and so i havent had time and really no motivation#however i have a few commissions from december i still havent finished#and i feel HORRIBLE that its taken me so long#but some of these pieces. one in particular i have to pretty much redraw every time i come back to it bc its just giving me so many problems#(this isnt the fault of the commissioner lemme just go ahead and say that now)#i WANT to work on it and i work on it for hours but theres no progress bc ive just erased and redrawn things that whole time but something#STILL always looks off and it makes me so frustrated and i want to cry#and so im frustrated but i feel so guilty bc its been such a long time and so often when i do come back to it i just wanna give up and refun#d them. bc it isnt enjoyable anymore#it isnt enjoyable and given how much time ive already spent struggling its really not worth the money. especially bc my comms were half pric#e when i got all these comms (which is WHY i got all these comms)#so i feel like i devalued my self a little and i definitely spread myself way too thin bc i got like 6 commissions in one night or smth like#that. but i feel so guilty giving up!! this persons been WAITING for this!!!#idk yall i didnt want to cry so i stopped working on it but im SO frustrated and dont know what to do
