[Side story: When i was young, we would go to Burboanan almost every weekend. And every morning, I would stay here after breakfast to listen to the rush of the waters, the chirp of the birds and insects, and the footsteps of people passing by. This bridge also became my first stage. 😉] I am in this chapter of my life right now where everything seems to be in place except for one. Yet I know these are just bumps in the road as I go testing the waters. While other people would choose to give up from the same circumstance, I won’t. Yes, my 2022 was planned out already. Living the moment. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In April 2016, we witnessed Imbayah Festival's wooden scooter racing event few minutes after arriving in Banaue--just like the Bear Brand Adult Plus TVC. Difference is that they just took a top shot with the terraces as the background and Igorots dressed in full regalia cheered on the sidelines. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Our version is more realistic. It happened at the curve en route to the town center with cheering locals dressed in normal clothes on the sidelines.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The wooden scooter race is part of the Imbayah Festival. This is a downhill 7-kilometer course that starts from the Rice Terraces View Point to the town proper.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ The Imbayah Festival happens every last week of April. I could still remember, when i was still a child, we would always go to our little farm house in Burboanan for the weekends. And as a sleepy head as i was, i would dose off a few minutes but my lola would wake me up when it’s this part of the road already. If i have already enough money, i would retire early and just live a simple life here. The air is so fresh! You can run barefoot to feel the life underneath. You can hear birds chirping. You can have siesta time and enjoy it with your loved ones, with or without electricity. BUKID LIFE FOR 1 DAY

So, yesterday pumunta ako sa bukid namin mag isa pero andun naman mga pinsan ko pero kinailangan ko lang talagang huminga away from the city. Alam mo yung feeling na while nag da drive ako iniisip ko kung paano kaya ako matutulog or makakatulog kaya ako kasi for sure kwentuhan to with pinsan. So, dumating ako doon siguro mga 10am tapos ayun kwentuhan, kainan. Wala kasi ibang magawa kasi walang tv, walang radio tapos iniiwasan kong mag online kasi gusto ko sulitin yung isang araw na relax ko. Char? Ayun, so nag usap usap kami, tawanan, naglaro ng mga pambata. Sobrang saya. Nakalimutan ko na mag picture kasi yung phone ko nasa bag ko lang siya for a whole day. Tapos kantahan pag gabi kasi yung kapitbahay ng pinsan ko marunong pala tumugtog ng gitara so nag inuman yung tito ko while kami kantahan. Ewan ko ba napakasimple ng buhay doon pero napakasaya. Sulit na sulit yung pahinga talaga. Lumabas yung totoong saya ko kahapon. Nakakamiss din tsaka na appreciate ko ulit yung buhay. Dami namin napagkwentuhan eh. 

Yung pain pala kahit gaano kasakit, talagang lilipas lang. Maaaring hindi mo makalimutan pero dumarating pala talaga sa point na magiging okay din, hihilum din. Mas masaya pala ang buhay kapag simple lang, mas madali kang makakusad kapag tanggap mong wala na, kapag tanggap mo na yung kwento niyo hanggang doon lang talaga. Mahirap pero kinailangang magpatuloy kasi hindi dapat umiikot yung mundo sa isang tao lang. 

Pahinga, mahalin ang sarili at higit sa lahat piliin lagi ang maging masaya.
