Headline Wembley Arena Show Announced For April 2022
New Postponed World Tour Dates Confirmed For Spring 2022
Louis Tomlinson today announces that he is partnering with BMG to release his second album globally.
Recording is already underway for the record, and Louis joins a roster at BMG that includes KSI, Craig David, Richard Ashcroft, The Prodigy and Kylie Minogue.
Louis says: "I’m very excited to start the next part of my journey with BMG.”
Jamie Nelson VP A&R at BMG UK says: "We are delighted to welcome Louis to BMG. He is already busy working on new music, and we are excited to join him on the next phase of his extraordinary career."
Louis also announces today the first wave of new 2022 dates for his postponed World Tour in UK, Europe, USA and Australia, including a brand new date at London's Wembley Arena. This show replaces Louis's two sold out London shows at The Roundhouse, and tickets will be transferred to the new venue.
Louis's first show at Wembley Arena will take place on April 22nd 2022, and extra tickets for the gig go on sale on Friday 14th May at 9am BST.
After postponing his 2020 world tour due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Louis will now finally get back on the road with his first solo tour, which is already completely sold out. The new dates are listed below. Further international rescheduled dates will be announced at a later date.
Last year, Louis released his million selling smash debut solo album 'Walls' which hit Top 3 in the UK and Top 10 in the USA. A lyrically personal album that proved he had found his feet as a solo artist, the album produced a clutch of acclaimed singles including the emotive first release Two of Us, the raucous Kill My Mind, the reflective We Made It.
In 2019 Louis headlined the Coca-Cola music festival in Madrid to an audience of 25,000 people, and performed to 65,000 fans at Premios Telehit in the Foro Sol stadium in Mexico City. Louis picked up the Best Song Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards for 'Two Of Us', which has so far hit over 100 million streams on Spotify alone.
In 2018 Louis won an iHeart Award for 'Best Solo Breakout', and an EMA Award for 'Best UK & Ireland Act' in 2017. He was ranked No.5 on Billboard’s emerging artists of 2018 and has over 60 million combined followers on social media. Last year he won 'Artist Of The Summer' in Philly radio station 96.5 TDY's annual awards.
In December 2020, Louis hosted one of the biggest live stream concert events of 2020, selling over 160,000 tickets to fans in over 100 countries and raising funds for several important charities. As a member of One Direction, Louis has sold over 100 million records. Overall Louis’ solo music has garnered over a BILLION streams.

Dear Trick or Treat Author
Dear Trick or Treat Author,
[WIP: 23:50 BST 19/09/21]
What a wonderful time of year! (Or is that Yuletime? Nearly there too!)
Hello! I am very easily pleased so please take this as a starting point if you need some ideas but otherwise write what makes you happy! I know horror tropes/genre are in my dislikes but if you want to write a scary trick, you do that, yes please! Just play within the canonical world (werewolves in Milton-Northern, vampires at Thornfield, ghosts at the White House) and I'll be a happy reader (but please still stay aware from my gore-related DNWs!).
My normal ramble about what I enjoy in fic isn't really relevant to a 300+ word exchange but you can find it in past letters, click the letter tag.
That said, things missing from my main signup include these:
Loves: exploration of power imbalances Likes: epistolary
My fandoms are in alphabetical order (ish), so here we go!
1.      16th Century CE RPF
Anne Boleyn Anne of Cleves Catherine of Aragon Catherine Parr Elizabeth I of England Henry VIII of England Margaret Pole Countess of Salisbury Robert Dudley 1st Earl of Leicester Thomas Seymour (1508 – 1549)
I've been on a bit of a Philippa Gregory kick this summer reading the Cousins' War series out of order. I'd love more stories about these figures – with some of them (Henry VIII in particular!) it's pretty easy to lean into the trick side of things, but there's treat potential too. Add more characters if you want; I've been reading histories and historical novels on this period for many, many years so if you drop in Maria de Salinas or Stephen Fisher or Kat Ashley or Thomas Cromwell or anyone I'm up for that, but I am also a laidback reader and this is a low-stress exchange, don't tie yourself in knots over accuracy. (Although I would, and I'd definitely recommend Ruth Goodman's How to be a Tudor if you haven't read it, even if you're not normally a non-fiction reader.)
What if [any utterly disastrous thing] didn't happen, or perhaps was somehow worse? Did Elizabeth and Dudley actually have some happiness in a romance, however brief? How did Anne of Cleves feel to retire as the King's beloved sister? What was Margaret Pole thinking on the morning of her execution? Is Henry VIII haunted by the ghosts of some of those he killed: friends and lovers and family? Did anything actually happen between Elizabeth I and Thomas Seymour (There's historical room for a secret pregnancy in the country…)
2.      Downton Abbey
Mary Crawley Edith Crawley Sybil Crawley Matthew Crawley Tom Branson Robert Crawley Cora Crawley Violet Crawley Isobel Crawley Lavinia Swire Anna Bates Evelyn Napier Freda Dudley Ward Marigold Crawley George Crawley Ship: Tom Branson/Sybil Crawley
This is like my TV comfort blanket. I rewatched it this year and I am interested in just about every main character except, oddly, Thomas – who is the favourite fic character of most writers! Give me a missing moment, a look at the future, a glance at the past, a look from the outside – whatever. Any point in, before or after canon is cool with me, except I tend to skim a lot of S4 (ugh, that rape storyline, please don’t use that).
Do ghosts walk the halls of Downton Abbey? What is life like in Ireland for Tom and Sybil? Do any of the characters ever feel a moment of true despair? What if Matthew had died in the war? What does the future hold for these characters? How did Robert, Cora and Violet get on in the 1890s? What was Carson like with Mary/Edith/Sybil as children? Does it parallel his relationship with their children?
3.      The Good Place
Eleanor Shellstrop Chidi Anagonye Tahani Al-Jamil Jason Mendoza Michael Janet
This is another show I can watch over and over and over. I think Chidi's my favourite but it's hard to be sure. I can tell you I absolutely sobbed during the S3 finale and I was a wreck for the S4 finale. Tug my heartstrings, make me laugh, make me cry, I don't care! I've studied philosophy and despised it so I'll take or leave what you include on that score, I just love the characters. Please include any or all other characters you'd like, but I definitely ship Eleanor/Chidi over Chidi/Simone! Although I'll take angst in that direction too! I don't know, I feel like a kid in a candy store writing this letter: hyper and having trouble deciding between all the possible wonders!
Existential dread? Moments from their human lives? Moments from the good place? Please tell me more about the time knife. Does Michael return to the good place when he dies? Does he reunite with Janet and/or Tahani?
4.      Jane Eyre
Jane Eyre Edward Rochester Adele Varens Ship: Jane Eyre/Edward Rochester
This is my favourite classic novel, I reread it every couple of years, most recently in 2020 for Yuletide. My reading of it changes each time, and I increasingly believe that Rochester is more bad guy than good guy and that Jane Eyre lies as a narrator and is as prejudiced and superior as those she crititcises for the same qualities. But I still love her, and that she says she got a happy ending.
Is Rochester more of a villain? How? How does Adele find school, either the one Rochester sends her to, or the one Jane moves her to? Post-canon happiness? Post-canon unhappiness? A scene from the engagement? A missing moment between the non-wedding and Jane running away? What if the wedding wasn't interrupted? (Full disclosure: I'm writing this too.) Canon divergence for, well, anything? Is Adele separated from Sophie? How does that go, how does she manage?
5.      Memoirs of a Geisha
Nitta Sayuri Mameha Nobu Toshikazu Ship: Nitta Sayuri/Nobu Toshikazu Ship: Mameha/Matsunaga Tsuneyoshi | The Baron
6.      North and South
Margaret Hale John Thornton Hannah Thornton Bessy Higgins Ship: Margaret Hale/John Thornton
7.      Stardew Valley
Female Player Sebastian Shane Harvey Robin Elliott Leah Marlon Ship: Shane/Female Player Ship: Sebastian/Female Player Ship: Lewis/Marnie
Do Sebastian and the farmer go on any more bike rides? How did Lewis and Marnie’s relationship start? Are they ever found out? Why does Lewis want to keep it secret? Why is he such an arsehole to Marnie? Tales of the purple shorts. Tell me more about Harvey’s nerdy hobbies or fear of heights? What happened with Robin and Sebastian’s dad? The horrors of the mines, or the skull cavern? Is Leah frightened by the things that go bump in the night near her home? Is Elliott? Some angst or h/c around a wounded farmer, being found/nursed? Or how about some angst/horror in which... they’re not? Fics about the war with the Gotoro Empire?
8.      Star Trek: Voyager
Kathryn Janeway Chakotay Tuvok Kes Seven of Nine Naomi Wildman
I’ve been a J/C shipper since before I knew shipping was a thing (as a kid, I had all the two-parters, S5&6, and Resolutions on video. Pre-internet, how did I even know which episode Resolutions one? Shippy magic instinct, I guess?) So apart from that ship, or canonical relationships, I would prefer genfic please. I also don’t mind the other Voyager characters so they’re welcome to make an appearance, but these are the ones that interest me.
9.      The West Wing
CJ Cregg Josh Lyman Sam Seaborn Abbey Bartlet Charlie Young Donna Moss Jed Bartlet Leo McGarry Toby Ziegler Zoey Bartlet
Happy writing!

DAUGHTER, SISTER, NIECE AND WIFE
No one else will ever be all four to kings ( Edward IV, Edward V, Richard III, Henry VII ) but that distinction — much like your life — is marred by instability, grief and strife.
Your father became sick: whisperings of poison persist, and you must admit you are not sure of the truth. Your brother disappeared to the Tower: whisperings of murder exist, and you must admit you are not sure of the truth. But you are sure that your uncle met his end upon Bosworth field, and on the matter of your husband you are sure that you love him.
At first you were not sure, at first it was not easy, but such is love.
Sweet Elizabeth, daughter of scandal: the fairest of her father’s children by his second marriage to Elizabeth Woodville. They call her ‘common,’ though she is beautiful; they are not audacious enough to call you half-common, because it is only descendancy from the God-chosen King that matters to them.
There would be more daughters before Elizabeth Woodville gave unto her husband sons, and by then they are talking.
THINGS I PROBABLY DON’T NEED TO WRITE CREATIVELY BUT YOU DO NEED TO KNOW, A SAGA:
Elizabeth of York was the first-born daughter of Edward IV and his wife Elizabeth Woodville; she was widely believed to be the fairest of his children. She had two older half-siblings from her mother’s first marriage, and would have nine full-blooded siblings: Mary, Cecily, Edward (V), Margaret, Richard, Anne, George, Catherine, and Bridget. Bold denotes the two ‘Princes in the Tower’ and italics denotes siblings who died in infancy.
In childhood, she was betrothed to the future King Charles VIII of France, but the French failed to keep to their end of the agreement & it was called off. Previously, she had been betrothed to a noble’s son, but this too was repudiated after the father rebelled against Edward.
The former King Henry VI was briefly returned to the throne when Elizabeth was but four years old. Elizabeth, her siblings, and their pregnant mother lived under religious protection until Edward was restored in 1471.
In 1483, Edward IV died, and the unexpected nature of this death & the age of her brother — also named Edward — combined by the ambition for power held by her uncle the Lord Protector ( Richard, Duke of Gloucester ) threw the succession into doubt. Once again, they were forced into sancturary.
Ultimately, both Edward V and the younger Richard disappeared shortly after her uncle took the throne as Richard III, known as the Princes in the Tower, with much credence lent to the theory that they were murdered; the Titulus Regius, in declaring the late King’s controversial — as Elizabeth Woodville was a ‘common’ widower and the marriage secret — marriage invalid, bastardised their children and robbed Elizabeth of York and her siblings of status & rights to succession.
When whispers began of an effort against Richard for the throne, the strongest claim was undoubtedly Elizabeth of York’s own. But there had been no queen that ruled in her own right, and would not for some years, and so Elizabeth Woodville arranged for her to marry the Lancastrian claimant Henry Tudor, who traced his line through a legitimised bastard line.
It was illegal for a Beaufort to take the throne, but it was agreed that they would support his efforts, perhaps due to Elizabeth’s vitriol toward Richard for the disappearance of her son. Henry vowed to marry Elizabeth in 1483.
Henry Tudor won the battle of Bosworth Field and was crowned Henry VII: he married Elizabeth in January 1486, their first child, Arthur, being born that autumn.
The marriage initially was politics-born, but they came to love one another deeply, and there is no evidence of the king having kept a mistress.
FROM DEATH TO “DEATH”
18 March, 1496
The eighteenth of March, fourteen ninety-six, is immortalised in your mind as the day that you died. You were thirty that day — giving birth to your fifth child, Mary — and you are thirty now, utterly untouched by the centuries.
The death must have lasted mere moments; no one beyond your attentive husband noticed, and it was some time beyond then that the both of you began to believe it.
It was the tallest of the tales your mother told you in her confinement at Bermondsey before her death four years ago. But when they told you she was dead ( perhaps of plague, demanding a rushed & private ceremony ) it would take a fool not to wonder whether the machinations of Elizabeth Woodville, the queen dowager, would continue from beyond the ‘grave.’
( The Reaper himself surely could not stop so ambitious a woman: and were it not for the king’s mother, perhaps you could have been more like her. You wonder whether you would want to be. )
Time passed, and yet none upon your face. Henry holds you close in anxious murmurings of what they will do to you if you are discovered; whisperings between kisses of witch-burnings.
You know, though you wish that he was not, that he is right to be afraid.
4 April, 1502
For all the world and time, no worse news could be imagined; the existence of those without faith is one without pity or mercy & you have always tried to keep your love of God intact, but it is oh-so-difficult when the world itself is so malignant as to take your little prince away.
Why is it, then, that you must live and yet bury your son? Why must his wife live on and yet he must die? You are not a spiteful woman. But even you, in this all-consuming grief, must be allowed your bitterness.
You remind your husband of the grace of God: it does not help you believe it.
You remind your that you have a son and two daughters, and that Arthur is with God, and it does not help you believe it.
You remind your husband that you are both young and have time enough yet.
It does not help you believe it.
As soon as you are gone from him, having remained strong for Henry’s sake alone, you buckle, and you wail, and you scream in defiance; it is hopeless, of course, for you to have insisted on sparing him your grief. When you need him, he will always come, until he can no longer.
10th February, 1503
Your newborn daughter Katherine stopped breathing, and something trapped the scream in your throat like a reassurance: some hand over your mouth whispering wait, until the baby girl wailed and began to move again.
She is too young to have the burden of forever on those tiny shoulders, you think, but did any of you ever get a choice in whether or not you wanted to be Time’s Atlas? You say nothing of the occurrence to anyone bar your dearest beloved, who you trust with an implicitness thought impossible the day you married him.
How could one of the white rose trust one of the red?
Your blood still mars the bedsheets, too much of it, dark & damning; they thought the sanguine waterfall would never stem, skin growing paler and paler, until you were a paper ghost. Of course, you knew that you would not die. The doctors didn’t: they call you a miracle. The bells are rung for joy, but when they are gone, there is rue upon your husband’s face. Not long ago, they began to comment upon your unchanging visage, like an ever-fresh flower, and you both knew.
“It won’t be long before—” You press your finger gently to his lips, and he moves it away. “It’s time.”
“I know.”
11th February, 1503
The tower is just barely lit by the sun; you have been here many times before — a highlight of the fact the world still thinks the reality of childbirth, the suffering that comes with a miracle, to be a matter of shame — and he has always hated the separation from you, but this time, in the eyes of the nation ( he will deceive even his mother ) you will not leave it alive.
Cast your gaze back over your shoulder, and ask the most natural question of the immortal race: how did you get here?
To this liminal space, this balancing-act, between the past ( for this home of yours will be your past, your life with him will be your past, but your love for him will be your present, your tomorrow, and your always ) and forever? Can you process the endlessness of it — of forever — my love, where so many empires, overestimating their longevity, have failed; can you understand, darling, that you will watch the crumbling demise of so many more without him?
( When you see his vision misted over with tears, is your husband still the most beautiful, lovable thing you have ever beheld? He is. He is, and no matter how the centuries pass — no matter how many kings, queens and vagabonds you lay eyes upon — he always will be; they will brand him a penny-pincher and a miser as loss haunts him, but you will remember him like this, in the most pain he has and will ever be in, but selfless anyway, because here’s the kicker they all forget: he loves you. )
“My Lizzie,” he murmurs to you, kisses the backs of your fingers, and it is a vow. Even in the depths of his pre-emptive sorrow, he looks up. His mother always says he was God-chosen to be king, but it has always been you who puts him on his knees. “Happy Birthday.”
You promise yourself then — ruminating on the fact you have never had an unhappier birthday than this — that you will never forget it.
LIFE AFTER “DEATH” ( POST-1503 )
As is hinted, Henry knew of Elizabeth’s immortality & assisted her in faking her “death.”
Elizabeth has had a long time to live.
The sole large expense never recorded in the royal books by Henry was to send her away and give her a life of means: the most painful act her husband ever undertook, but which he did because he loved her so dearly. Henry never remarried: though he spoke of it ( had to, because his wife was ostensibly dead ) he staved it off with the instructions he gave to those searching for a second wife.
Hint: they perfectly described Elizabeth.
For some time, the parted couple sent letters, before they deemed even that a risk to their wellbeing.
Elizabeth was once a pious woman. She is not, anymore: an eternity of time and of watching all die around her will rob any woman of her faith. She was renowned for gentleness and generosity, and that is not entirely lost upon her, but the same grief that forged the Winter King from Henry has touched her, too.
She is more cynical, more bitter, but she is still trying. It was necessary for her to change: even at first, knowing she had forever to live, she had to force herself to accept the life Henry gave her & not bequeath her money to others who needed it more, as suddenly she needed it to maintain her own life throughout the centuries.
Throughout her life, though, this attitude has meant she has built up enough money to both give comfortably and be comfortable. For example, now, she is both heavily charitable but lives in Belgravia.
Many lives have passed: in just one, for example, she has been a teacher, just as she was to her son Henry. She has settled in this life on a political aide, so she can more obviously move the world.
The years have made her more ambitious.
She just hopes she will find hope — and her husband, because she knows that if he were dead he would feel it in her heart — before she indelibly becomes the Winter Queen.
TRIVIA ( some things I love & a note on some I have elected to ignore )
Obligatory note that I would sell my soul for someone to play James McAvoy as Henry VII.
Among other things, the Queen from “Sing A Song Of Sixpence” is reportedly Elizabeth of York, and Henry is the King counting his money.
However, Henry’s penny-pinching nature only blossomed after Elizabeth’s death ( or in this case ‘death’ ) and prior to that death he was very liberal in spending money upon his wife and family.
Elizabeth may also have inspired the Queen of Hearts on modern-day playing cards.
She was particularly tall for Tudor women — perhaps inherited from her father — as most were much shorter than five-foot six or seven.
History believes Elizabeth had little political influence, but that perhaps is not so true as they believe.
It is true that Margaret Beaufort exercised a grand deal of influence and was loudly opinionated, but Elizabeth was able to influence matters through gentle whispers in her husband’s ear, and through love. She did not live for the applause: never had done. Elizabeth was known to be heavily charitable. So why would she make fanfare of her achievements in her husband’s court?
I know Henry VIII isn’t allowed, but Elizabeth would bitch slap him. She would. It has to be said.

“i asked her once how she managed to master diplomacy and espionage at a time when no one wanted to see a woman succeed at either. and she said "compromise where you can. where you can't, don't. even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say no, you move.” — captain america: civil war

BRIEF BIO —
margaret carter, founder of s.h.i.e.l.d., has been having an interesting time since the end of the second world war. the s.s.r., it seemed, was ( although not keen on serving women in the first place ) even less inclined to give a women a shot, and thus she felt for some time reduced to a coffee-carrying glorified secretary for men like chief dooley and perhaps the most patronising of all — agent jack thompson.
however, when her close friend howard stark gets himself caught up in a congress investigation regarding stolen inventions of his, she is recruited by him to clear his name and try to recover the weapons; all without attracting the eye of her fellow agents, and with the assistance of his butler, her countryman edwin jarvis. it leads her along a road of chaos as howard’s inventions — stolen and sold along — create more and more havoc, and ends upon the brooklyn bridge disposing of the last sample of steve rogers’ blood as a last goodbye.
however, she didn’t expect to have to clear her own name as a heavily redacted file seemingly about an m. carter begins to circulate, accusing her of war crimes, as her colleague jack thompson ponders using it as blackmail.
who also accompanies her as the focus slowly turns to a russian group known as leviathan, and the deadly assassins of the red room, including one dottie underwood, putting her and all those she cares about ( even including l&l automat worker angie martinelli, who she has come to call a friend ) in danger. the trail becomes more dangerous still when zero matter and fanatical actress-scientist whitney frost comes into the equation, seeking to use it for her own ends and to ‘advance’ humanity beyond imagining.
the ‘m. carter’ file comes back into focus when agent jack thompson is shot and the file stolen — and the investigation, to peggy’s horror, leads her to her not-so-dead brother michael who has turned to the very organisation peggy had spent years of her life struggling against, forcing her to choose between family and what is right. ( being who she is, of course, she chooses the rightful path. )
later, howard stark approaches her for help to run the new s.h.i.e.l.d. and she becomes one of its founding members, the successor organisation to the s.s.r. she had by then spent some time in both new york and l.a., and decided to pursue feelings for angie ‘in spite of her better judgement.’ she married for cover ( her husband being privy to the truth ) so that she and angie could have a relationship with lesser fear of danger / persecution. she and her husband have a child. she had been spending some years with shield when on november 8, 1956, shortly after the re-election of dwight d. eisenhower to the presidency, she was thrown to new york — a city she knew, but in a different time, with people she knew to find there.

☆ ━ ━ OUT OF THE WAY ! CAN’T YOU SEE ANNE BOLEYN (formerly Percy), THE COUNTESS OF NORTHUMBERLAND COMING THIS WAY ?  I HEAR SHE IS CAPTIVATING, BUT ALSO IMPULSIVE. SHE SEEMS TO REMIND EVERYONE OF COURTLY LOVE, FRENCH SILK, .&. BLOOMING FLOWERS. HOPEFULLY ONE DAY SHE WILL SUCCEED IN HER AMBITION TO RETURN TO COURT LIFE, BUT THEN AGAIN, THE COURT IS A DANGEROUS PLACE. ONE CAN ONLY HOPE SHE WILL KEEP HER HEAD… ( NATALIE DORMER  ) ━ ━ ☆ AS WRITTEN BY BEE ;;  BST, SHE/HER, 23 .
YOU KNOW WHO IT IS! It’s your girl, Anne Boleyn, as you know her but with improvements. Obviously her circumstance are quite different from history so bear with me. Here’s the short version:
Anne’s upbringing is very much canon; she went to Austria at the age of 12 to stay with Margaret of Austria before travelling to France to enter Mary Tudor’s house hold and then later Queen Claude’s.
In 1522 she made her debut at court in 1522 and caught the eye of both male and female attendees alike very quickly. She values herself for being educated, well spoken and, perhaps most of all, cultured away from court.
Where she deviates from history is that she married Henry Percy before the two could be separated and faced a great deal of backlash for it. The two were greatly in love with each other but their betrothal had been a secret agreement between the two, their wedding had been the same, but without seeking permission from the King they were technically committing treason. The pair were removed from court as punishment and Anne hasn’t returned since 1531.
In the years since, it has come to light that all not is well in the marriage which began out of love. When Anne became pregnant Henry’s eye drifted a little which, understandably, angered Anne greatly and caused much trouble within the marriage. Sadly Anne lost that child and grieved heavily over it, the years following saw more difficulty as Henry Percy did not remain faithful to his wife and he grew ill as a result to the lifestyle he adopted.
With her husband now unable to travel to court due to illness, Anne had prepared to make the journey to court alone but, before she could depart, Henry’s condition worsened and his wife nursed him in the few days until his death. As a widow, so soon after her husband’s death, Anne should have entered mourning straight away and adopted the role of a widow but court called. With the royal funeral and coronation, she could not risk being confined to life as a widow in the country with no hope of liberation.
While Anne’s story sounds somewhat similar to that which she suffered in real life, Henry Percy’s infidelity was not as deep as Henry VIII’s and Anne never had to enter the business of manipulation on the behalf of her family so expect noticeable differences!
Anne Boleyn is the thirty five year old daughter of Thomas Boleyn and Elizabeth Howard, born in Norfolk but spent her childhood at Hever Castle in Kent. Her father was a favourite of Henry VIII and so liked as a diplomat through Europe that his daughter Anne was offered a position in the daughter of the HRE’s household in Austria at the mere age of twelve. Margaret of Austria described Anne as being “so presentable and so pleasant, considering her youthful age“ but Anne’s time with Margaret was cut short when her father found her a position in France with Henry VIII’s sister, Mary, where she remained from 1514 until 1522.
Anne made her court debut at the Château Vert (Green Castle) pageant in honour of the imperial ambassadors on 4 March 1522, playing "Perseverance." There she took part in an elaborate dance accompanying Henry's younger sister Mary, several other ladies of the court, and her sister. All wore gowns of white satin embroidered with gold thread. She quickly established herself as one of the most stylish and accomplished women at the court, and soon a number of young men were competing for her. Anne was no doubt aware of the attention she received and enjoyed it greatly, however it was around this time that she began to be courted by Henry Percy and the pair entered a secret betrothal. Their love remained secret for a while, during which Thomas Boleyn desired to place his daughter in the sights of the king and Percy’s father had a marriage for his son waiting in the wings, but under the pressure from their parents to part ways and the looming eye of a King whose advanced were becoming more direct they opted for a secret wedding in 1530. The pressure seemed to be too much for young Anne, as she heard suggestions that the King would have her named a Marquess, she knew the only way to reclaim her dignity was to take the drastic leap of faith. It was an act which infuriated their families on both parts and also caused great difficulty as a petition for permission was not submitted to the king for the match. Both Anne and Henry faced banishment or, at worst, execution for the act but the loyalties of their fathers somehow managed to keep the King on side. A match between Thomas Howard’s niece, Mary Howard, and the King’s illegitimate son, Henry Fitzroy, worked well on Boleyn’s behalf for his relationship with the Howards but Anne and Henry Percy were not entirely off the hook. From 1531 Anne and Henry were removed from court to live on the lands entitled to Henry only due to his father previously holding the position as Earl in good favour with the king.
