Time for the Arthur countdown!! For the next five weeks, I will be posting about my top FIVE favorite Arthurs in cinema. Here in at number five we have Arthur Pendragon from the BBC's kid's show Merlin!! When I first started this show, it gave me awful flashbacks to BBC's weird Robin Hood starring Jonas Armstrong. I am something of an Arthurian Legend Purist (trademark pending). I even mocked this show by calling Arthur High King Peter (from the Chronicles of Narnia, which I understand now is the farthest thing from an insult...I love Peter) because of his young age and boyish ways. I never thought I could love this Arthur. Oh, how wrong I was. We all know the ending to the Arthurian legend...It's not a happy one. When that last episode rolled around, I was DYING. I bawled all afternoon. Bradly James is actually a great actor and I fell in love with his Arthur like I do most Arthurs. The show is kind of tongue in cheek, but if you like Arthurian legend AT ALL you will watch this show.
