this time you had made up your mind you were going to bake cupcakes, you wanted to challenge yourself knowing how bad you were at baking but just standing there in the kitchen with all the ingredients set on the counter made you start regretting you decision,

“ y/n” you look up to find your boyfriend, Donghyun, you hadn’t even heard the door unlock while zoning out at the thought of baking, “ there you are” he came up to you placing a kiss on your forehead then your lips,

“I’m gonna bake” you tell him grabbing a bowl from the cupboard, he looks at you doubt written all over his face clearly remembering last time you tried doing this, you frown at his distrust, “don’t-”,

“no listen how about we bake?” he smiles taking an apron to put on, your face brightens up as he scoots beside you scanning the ingredients on the table,

“so have you baked anything before?” you ask him as you start measuring your dry ingredients, you turn over to him after hearing no answer he grins his eyes smiling just as much as his mouth, you take a deep breath holding back your laughter before clapping your hands together to get your energy going,

“that’s the spirit” he claps along and the process begins.

the recipe that was seemed straightforward revealed itself to be far more complicated when you both realize you had too many white powders set on the table and no way of distinguishing one from the other so you either added 1 cup of baking soda or 1 cup of flour, tasting didn’t help since neither of you were actually familiar with either so you decided to spin a wheel,

“Hyun I think the sour one is the soda” you retort as he pulls out his phone to get a wheel of to make the decision for you,

“don’t worry y/n i’ll point us to the right direction” he says as he spins the wheel, you watch carefully as it lands on number 2 which you were convinced was the flour, “wait. which one is the 2?” he asks smiling innocently you glare at him making him burst out laughing,

“i’m sorry babe, i had to” he laughs kissing you softly till you smile back at him,

you exchange roles so you mix while he pours, he gets behind you to tie your hair up as your ponytail loosens placing a soft kiss on your neck when he’s done, making you smile the feeling of his lips on your skin always did that to you.

when you’re finally popping the cakes in the oven a couple hours had passed, on the recipe it said the prep was 20 minutes.

“if they’re not the best cupcakes ever i’m gonna cry” you groan as you fall on the couch, he nods along before adding something, “we made them together they can’t be anything less” you let yourself sink into his arms completely exhausted from the whole process, he holds you in a warm embrace gently massaging your waist as you fell asleep.

the smell of freshly baked goods woke you up, and you found your boyfriend in the kitchen munching on the cupcakes,

“these are so good” he says, his mouth full of cake taking a piece to feed you with, you open your mouth and feel relieved when it actually tastes like cake.

“you thought i was lying?” he questions his eyebrows raised in shock noticing your expression you smile shaking your head as you kiss his worries away.

a/n. if you like musicals you might like this if not i hope you like it anyway it was fun to imagine but on paper idk how well it works

Movies had become a part of your daily life with Donghyun, whether it was reciting lines from one of your favorite movies or randomly bursting into acapella from musicals you just had to add some movie elements into your day so when an open air karaoke screening of Mamma mia was announced you thought it would be crazy not to attend, you and Donghyun had the movie memorized from the many times you’d seen it, it was a tradition and it was sacred.

At the venue you had camped up a bit farther from the screen where there were fewer people so you didn’t disturb anyone, you came with a picnic blanket on the floor and a few pillows so you could be comfortable, one other thing you and your boyfriend couldn’t go without was snacks so you had a whole bag full of those, because a movie without snacks felt incomplete. You took your seat between Donghyun’s legs halfway laying down resting your head on his chest using his thighs as arm rests, he fed you popcorn as the movie begun.

“they’re gonna regret letting us come” he joked knowing how loud we are when we are just singing this in the four walls of our place, you tapped his thigh as you laughed almost choking, he hands you a bottle rubbing your shoulder as you drink,

“let’s make the most of it then”you turned your head back to get a look at him and he took the opportunity to kiss you, you rolled your eyes holding back your smile as you turned back to the movie.

You had been singing at the top of your lungs the whole time changing positions to reenact the scenes but when lay all your love on me came on you knew you had to do it right, he takes off his top revealing his torso to fully commit to the scene, you watched him sing the part the screen behind him mirroring his exact moves, every time he got closer your heart would beat faster even though you were used to it, he always looked at you in a way that you couldn’t just ignore, it was filled with love and lust, when he’d hold you close bringing your lips closer to his only for you to push him away it was thrilling, the smirk on his face was so telling all these moments leading up to the scene where you lay down and he kisses you for a second before going back to dancing with his invisible friends while you cheered him on. When it’s over he makes sure to kiss you right, running his hands from your neck to your scalp,

“that was exhausting, you were perfect” he breathes out letting himself fall on the blanket, you patted his belly telling him he was great, the rest of the movie you stayed seated singing, dancing and acting theatrically with big gestures and expressions then laughing at each other’s impressions,

“WHEN YOU’RE GONE HOW CAN I EVEN TRY TO GO ON” you sang along holding each other’s hands putting on your best show for just yourselves.

When the movie is over you decide to stay a bit longer the sun had set but you felt like enjoying each other’s company in this moment, it felt special knowing you could be yourself with someone you loved so much, he was similar to yet so different but at times you were the same people feeling the same things, he held you close as you wrapped yourselves in a blanket the air getting chilly,

“You’re everything i’ve dreamed of in a partner y/n” he whispers in your ear as you sit there under the stars the only light shining coming from the moon,

“Stop reading my mind” you tell him snuggling closer to his chest.
