Darby Shadow Character Theory (cont.)

I was rewatching girl meets world when I noticed that this continues in Girl Meets Sneak Attack & Girl Meets Friendship. I'm using the GMW timeline that @theowldetective and @emmying made rather than the airing order, so in this case the episode/story order is...

Darby in Girl Meets Sneak Attack
While Missy is flirting with Lucas, we get shots of Darby observing the encounter and looking longingly at Lucas (interestingly in the same exact way as she does in the pilot).
2. Right after Missy boops Lucas on the nose, Darby looks straight up HORRIFIED. Darby starts glaring at Missy.
3. Afterwards, when Riley is trying boop Lucas on the nose, Darby looks like she is experiencing second hand embarrassment.

Darby (along with almost everyone else) instantly takes notice of Lucas when he walks in the classroom.
2. In this scene, Maya is teasing Lucas about missing Texas. At this point, Darby is already looking longingly at Lucas.
3. But when Lucas flirts back?!?! Darby straight up swoons.

GMW Rewatch: Girl Meets World (pt 1)
Hi y'all! These are basically my reactions as I rewatch GMW. Time to see if I still remember all the Easter Eggs in the show! I'll be pointing them out as we go along ;)
-aww young Maya and Riley are so cute!!
This makes me so sad. Riley never got the chance to make it HER OWN world (Please Michael Jacobs it's never too late to make a season 4). She's still living in her Father's world by the end of the show.

Ahem, Riley is wearing kiwi lipgloss (Shawn & Angela parallels anyone? We'll get back to this in S2)
Two things here:
1) “Hi, I’m Maya. You’re really cute. We should hang out sometime. You make me happy. You don’t pay enough attention to me. This isn’t working out. It’s you, not me. We can still be friends. Not really.”
Maya just basically summarized how her and Lucas's relationship plays out in the later seasons.
2) Notice the LONG LASTING poster in the background of Maya and Lucas (hint hint). There's also a 2 Months Only poster in the background
Hmm interesting. When Riley is with Lucas, the LONG LASTING poster is blocked, and instead we can only see the "2 months only" poster.
When Riley ends up in Lucas's lap for the second time, the LONG LASTING poster is once again blocked.
Next scene, classroom scene. Farkle declares his love for both Riley AND Maya. He's loved them equally since the first grade. Riley = Sun, Maya = Night (a mystery to Farkle)
Credit to @bmgmw & @theowldetective for pointing this out! The blonde girl to the right might be a shadow character of Maya. A shadow character is a minor character in the the background who reflects the feelings of a main character. As soon as Lucas walks in, blonde girl is SHOOK. She can't take her eyes off him.
When Lucas sits down, Blonde Girl is still gaping at him. This is a very interesting reaction, esp since the rest of the extras aren't showing nearly as much emotion. Seems like this has to be intentional
Also, more early Rilucas!
Ahhh and so it begins (the theme of perception vs reality). We're introduced to the show with the assumption that Riley = Cory, Topanga = Lucas, and Shawn = Maya. We'll see later that this isn't exactly true, and that's something Riley and Cory need to discover.

7) Favourite books: There are so many but the ones that stand out to me the most are The Letter by Kathryn Hughes, Will Grayson Will Grayson by John Green and David Leuithan, Am I Normal Yet by Holly Bourne, The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and the Monogram Murderers by Sophie Hannah based on one of Agatha Christie’s main characters.
8) Last song I listened to: Fire on Fire by Sam Smith, it’s really good.
9) Last film I watched: I don’t watch movies too often...I think the last movie I watched was the Aladdin live action remake back in May 😂😂 It wasn’t bad, there were some things I liked and some things I didn’t but I am still sceptical of these remakes yet I will continue to watch them, which is very hypocritical of me, I know 😂😂
10) Inspiration for muse: I’m going to assume this is for writing...I don’t have a specific muse, I just think of things that I would want to see on the small screen and if they make sense I write them down.
11) Dream Job: An astrophysicist, writer (for tv shows/movies) or a Youtuber.
12) Meaning behind my URL: I discovered Tumblr through the show Girl Meets World and I wanted to read more and more theories about the show, so I joined Tumblr and my blog was exclusively a Girl Meets World Blog, I also added random numbers to make my URL sound like the typical fangirl username that you hear about in tv and because I think the URL gmwsuperfan was already taken. When Girl Meets World ended and I got interested in other shows and topics, my blog became a multifandom blog but I decided not to change my URL for nostalgic purposes.

Looking for Muffy blogs to follow
I am looking for Muffy centered blogs to follow (or ones with really good discussions/q&a’s on all things AM like @mackmeta or @bmgmw ).
Honestly this hiatus is driving me crazy no matter how much the reshoots will be worth it- I need something to keep me preoccupied. Might even consider rewatching the series.
But please, more Muffy central. I don’t mind if there are other ships but the only ones I am finding are Tyrus centered. Which is fine but they aren’t my main.

So I was talking to my brother (who doesn’t watch Andi Mack but who I constantly bore with my theories and thoughts about it lol) about the new promo and how everyone was freaking out about it. He said that promo and the fandom’s reaction to it reminded him of a Diablo Cody quote he just read (when he said this I just look at him like ?????).
The quote is “The purpose of marketing is not to educate or to responsibly inform the consumer. They’re trying to sell tickets.”
And I do think it’s relevant to what was shown in the promo, especially the possible J/andi kiss. They’re showing us what we believe to be this big moment between Andi and Jonah but we haven’t been given enough information to know exactly what happens yet. The clip is meant to rile us up, to make us watch the show to see what happens.
So I guess what I’m trying to say and what @bmgmw has said as well is that PROMOS ARE MISLEADING. They’re meant to get us to watch the show even if what actually ends up happening on the show isn’t anything like what we were led to believe in the promo. I hope everyone takes that into consideration and tries not to give up hope on certain storylines happening just because of one misleading promo.

me spitballing about the promo
- (based on @bmgmw‘s observations) i think the board game is happening at cyrus’ house. and the scene with amber is also taking place there and it’s in the same episode. amber might want to seek professional help but she can’t afford it, or it’s a pretense so she can spy on jonah, or it’s coincidence that they’re all there on the same day, or amber picked a lock lmao
- i don’t think that what we saw was cyrus’ reaction to the jandi kiss. it’s probably just edited to look that way
- “you have a crush on him?” i wouldn’t be surprised if this is all about cyrus jumping to conclusions like he’s doing parkour (if he’s talking to buffy that is. if he’s talking to andi then it’s probably about walker. (the whole thing could be edited so that it looks like he’s talking to buffy))
- i have doubts that it’s jonah in the yearbook (well, one of them, they show two different people/pages) the name on the right might start with jo but if that section is really about the choir then i don’t think it’s jonah bc 1. that would totally come out of left field 2. i think it’s only when he talks to bowie that he discovers that he can sing/likes music
- i really hope that jonah isn’t running around being jealous of wandi all the time boy go straight to jail don’t pass go and don’t collect $200. lmao but seriously it almost seems to me like andi is gonna feel some kind of responsibility towards jonah bc she has liked him for so long and now she can’t really move on to walker even though she doesn’t feel like this for jonah anymore but she isn’t sure. and jonah is absolutely not ready to commit to a relatonship and i hope he won’t make a fool of himself chasing after andi. when iris said “it’s like [amber] can’t exist without a boyfriend” that might be somewhat true for jonah too. i mean a lot of us are already thinking that jonah can’t be alone and thinks the solution to his problems is clinging to andi.
and maybe he’s starting to cling to this idea of andi, Who Prevents Him From Having Panic Attacks, rather than a person he likes to spend time with/has common interests with/etc
- it’s gonna get so messy and i’m rEADY but i’m alsO NOT you feel me

There is something interesting about the show never letting Jonah not date anyone and Iris mentioning Amber can’t live without a boyfriend in early season 2. And how they specifically chose to have Jonah and Amber’s characters be intertwined through their families’ financial problems despite their toxic past which should’ve made their characters go separate ways for a while longer.
I know the way Jamber was set up in this recent episode was abrupt but I have little doubt that the show will address both Jonah and Amber’s behavior in an upcoming episode (doesn’t seem to be 3x13 though) given how open to interpretation the ending was. As @bmgmw pointed out in a post, Andi Mack has this strong pacing/storytelling issue that makes “arcs” and seasons as a whole appear incohesive (examples of that being the lantern wish being completely forgotten for almost ten episodes, or Cyrus’ crush on Jonah never being directly talked about until it was gone, etc.). I don’t see Jamber lasting longer than it will take to get to the next episode addressing it, and I feel like this episode will be an important episode for both Jonah and Amber in this same confusing Andi Mack fashion that has brought valuable lessons before.
I believe we might be in for an important milestone in Jonah and Amber’s individual growth in the near future! I don’t think anybody really expects Jamber to be endgame so their equally abrupt break up could lead to potentially interesting conversations.

So I saw this a while ago from a comparison that @bmgmw made and forgot to comment on this. BUT one thing that is funny about both pictures is that we have these two ships, Muffy and Jyrus. They are sitting face to face but there is something in the middle that is almost SEPARATING them. For Muffy, this is a soccer goal; I took this to mean that Muffy can happen, but sports, winning, and the obsession thereof is definitely gonna be an obstacle and come between them. For Jyrus, Buffy is in the middle; this could mean that friendship could come between Jyrus happening. Maybe not Buffy specifically, but friendship with the Good Hair Crew in general.
