Life in a Minor role - Kasumi Halloween 2022 4☆ Story -part 2-

(Saki enters the rehearsal room)

Kasumi: Ah, Saki-san. Hello there~

Saki: Kasumi-san, Hello. Are you here by yourself?

Kasumi: That’s right~

I found a part of the costume that made it difficult to move around in during the fitting session, so I had to go and get it fixed.

They just came back, so I was just checking the fit~

Saki: Is that so.

Kasumi: Oh right, the props also just arrived so please take a look at them if you’d like~

Saki: Is it really okay to look at the props? I’d love to see them!

Kasumi: Got it! It’s this one right here … … there we go.

(Kasumi placed the box of props down)

Kasumi: For this show, our main characters are a priest and a vampire, so we have staves and books as the props~

Saki: Wow, that’s so cool!

Well, the highlight of this show will be the main character, Mokuren’s passionate dance!

Mokuren’s character is indecisive by nature, but the strength of their volition is brilliantly demonstrated in his take of the role~

If Mokuren is that strong-minded as the priest, he can overcome any ordeal of God.

Saki: Then, it wouldn’t be a tragic love story anymore, unlike the original?

Kasumi: Well, you’ll have to wait and see!

Hey, same person who told you to pace yourself. I just noticed your passing thought on Blackstar (I think it’s BLACKSTAR: Theater Starless) & just wanted to ask what that game is about, what are your thoughts about it, & who is your favorite character or team (any answer is fine)? Also, if translations are not possible, how about just talking about your opinions on Blackstar’s story, events, songs, etc.?

Very long rambling ahead (warning)

I'm glad you asked! (cracks all my fingers)

It's about a show restaurant (Theater Starless) that puts on shows based on classic literature ranging from Western to Japanese. There are different teams that have different vibes/genres to them.

Those who work in Theater Starless are so-called "social rejects" in one way or another, the plot gets pretty crazy so I can't explain it all in one go, but conflicts between characters are what drive the story.

The game can be pretty fanservice-y which is friendly for those who yume like I do, but there's aspects like mystery, action, and drama in the plot that got me hooked. The plot can be better of course, but it's pretty good at catching your attention. Wish the gacha rates were as kind though

If you know about my Twitter account, it's very very obvious who my oshi is... (echoing voice: Yakou, Yakou...) I can't recall when and how I first fell for him but I was devastated during his hiatus from Starless

I even made a PowerPoint presentation about Yakou to show my friends (an excuse to ramble about him)

I talk a lot about the game, its events, and its songs on my Twitter account! I absolutely love songs from BLST, I have a playlist of all their songs I listen to on my way to school or whenever I go out. I really can't get enough of it. I love how each team has a different genre to them that is even apparent in their songs.

For example, "Breaking It Faster" is sung by Akira, a rock song, but you wouldn't guess it was from the literature piece "Romeo and Juliet" because of their vibe. It's a given but I'm in love with Yakou's voice, his singing voice is so satisfying to listen to, Akira and Zakuro too. (love u Matsu-nii, Kobataro and Shakemii) Everyone in the cast have such unique voices, I like the way that the singers are either industry professionals (band vocalists, theater singers, a rapper, soloist) and utaites (like Kradness)

2nd Anniversary Event — Ignite A Noise

Que my skeleton rising from the grave just to dance to Ego because it slaps way too hard 😂

Anyway, I decided to take a break from my mind numbing grind in Granblue since I already finished Proving Grounds + I don't feel like fully grinding out for gems in Enstars yet (even though I should because I have dire needs for the upcoming puka puka)

I mean ANYWAYS Chapters 1-5 under the cut :D

-Ignite A Noise-

Thanks to Haseyama, Starless hastily reopened to celebrate its second anniversary before the full restoration of the shop. Each team received a stage script with five interpretations from one original text.

Chapter 1 Cast: Kei, Kokuyo, Rindou, Mokuren, Mizuki, MC

MC (Today they’re going to be talking about the 2nd Anniversary Performance...) Unei Good work, everyone. Today, we’ll be having an important conversation about the 2nd Anniversary performance- Haseyama Quit blabbering, Unei. Time is golden after all. Oi, Kei. You’ve got the new song, so I’ll leave the 2nd Anniversary up to you. Kokuyo Why the hell does he know about it? Haseyama I’m the owner, aren’t I? There’s nothing I don’t know about my own shop. Kei Fine. A 2nd Anniversary show from the beginning. There’s no reason to spare. Haseyama Oh, since it is the 2nd Anniversary, I’ll be laying down some rules. Even though it’s a celebration, it won’t be much different from usual. The customers should be happy when watching the show. With that in mind, here are the 3 rules. First: The shows during this period should only be about the 2nd Anniversary. However, you will all decide what to do. Rindou So we’re allowed to choose the program? Haseyama That’s right. After a bit of discussion, it was decided...Surely you can understand that, don’t you? Second: Repeated performances and cast members are prohibited. Mizuki Huh? The hell do you mean? Haseyama Don’t do the same performance twice in a row. The same goes to the cast members. Mokuren That’s a pain. Why is there such a rule? (read: WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN’T DANCE ON STAGE FOR THE WHOLE DAY?) Haseyama I’ve been receiving all of your selfish requests. Don’t keep using the same cast members, you’ll die from overworking. In other words, this is the management looking out for you brats. You better be thankful. Now, for the last one. Rule 3. The cast members who get to perform on stage will be decided by this little lady. Really simple, isn’t it? MC H-huh!? I- I get to choose? Haseyama Yes, yes. You just need to tell daddy dearest. You don’t have to worry about the teams. (Don’t call yourself my daddy get out BLEGH) It can be based on your favourite, or who seems to make the most profits. I’ll leave that decision up to you. Mokuren ...Are you alright with that, Kei? Kei If that’s the case, all we can do is bear with it. After all, this store is hers. Whoever she picks to be up on the stage will never be wrong. Mizuki Oi, MC. You know what to do, right? Pick everyone from Team B. Rindou Mizuki. Don’t pressure her. Haseyama Oi. If there’s any disagreements, take that outside. This is all I have to say. All of you just have to do it or die trying, got it? Unei And without further ado, everyone, I hope everyone is able to prepare for the 2nd Anniversary performance well! Oh, that’s right. pt. 1

Rindou MC, this is where you were. Could I please have a bit of your time? I was going to start practicing by myself, but if you’d like, you can come watch. MC I don’t mind. Rindou Thank you very much. MC (...Huh? Was this routine always like this? It feels like this performance has much more determination than usual.) Rindou ...Uhm, how was that solo part just now? Please feel free to tell me what you thought. MC Hm, well... It certainly had a different feel from when I last saw it. Rindou ...Actually, that’s true. I intentionally changed it a bit. Right now, it’s still experimental. It was my day off yesterday, so I decided to go to an art museum. I was inspired by the painting I saw there... So I thought I’d give it a try. I thought this solo part could be more impactful. MC I see...you found inspiration at the art museum on how to do your acting. Rindou The museum was a mix of different inspirations. Still, there was many things to gain there. I usually don’t like to change the direction of the acting in the middle of a performance. However, I feel like this interpretation is something that came from myself. Bit by bit, I want to explore this new direction more. I hope to refine it soon. I know that right now it’s still a bit rough. I’m sorry, I’ve shown you something that isn’t completed yet. But, I really wanted to show someone this direction I want to go. I promise I’ll be able to show it while we perform this song. Because I want to be able to show you the finished product on the stage. MC Understood. I look forward to seeing it. Rindou I'm glad I was able to see you before the performance, MC-san. Thank you for being with me dring the lesson. Because of that, I was able to take a new direction for the acting. MC Then, that means... Rindou I want you to enjoy today's performance. More so than usual. Honestly, I still feel jittery. My feelings are overflowing. But, everything will be fine. That's what I think right now. I want you to be able to see this show to its completion. I'll cast a magic spell on you, so please stay seated until the very end, okay? I hope you enjoy it. Kokuyo It's whatever. But, if he keeps running away like that, he'll eventually get caught. I've seen a lot of stories where they manage to get by normally, but in the end eventually get caught in the act. Sin Is it the shadow of a bird or a beast that falls into the night? It's hard to distinguish. Kokuyo ...Hm.

Menou I wanted to focus more on the acting of it, but Mokuren kept pushing to focus on the dance aspect. Takami I feel like I've heard this conversation somewhere before. Menou Akira said he wanted to be the one singing, since he'd the top and all. Even Kei said to "Leave it all to the top's judgment." So really, in the end it was Akira's opinions that mattered. Takami The show looks well balanced though. Menou Nope. That whole thing is just a half-assed play. In the end, Akira left the directioning to Kei and left it at that. Takami I see. That's very Akira. Menou If you aren't gonna do your best with the acting, why even appoint me in the first place. Sinju Ah, Menou! Don't just go back to sleep! Takami For now, why not just stay at the wings? You don't want to leave a hole in the show, don't you? Menou Hm, yeah...guess I have no choice. (Menou leaves) Sinju ...Is he gonna be alright...? Takami Menou, Mokuren, and Akira... No matter how much I think of it, it really is an amazing team. Sinju It really is. But if you think about it, everyone is in a league of their own there, aren't they? It'll be an amazing show, no matter what, is what I think. Takami A lot of them want to focus on different things. It seems hard to be able to focus on a single direction.* (Takami actually says Too many ferrymen, eh? It'll be difficult to steer it which is a reference to a proverb. I didn't know if I should've used the proverb or explain it instead so like...y'know. Here we are. lol.)

Chapter 3

Ran (singing Polar Night) Lico Hey, can you like, shut up now? You're in an awfully good mood. Even you you always complain how a pain it is to be the cleaning crew. Ran 'is b'cause I get to go up on stage~! The cheers after a show is seriously the best! All the stress is go~ne completely. Lico That's so. I'm SO glad for you. Sotetsu If I'm not mistaken, Ran was chosen for Rindou's team, weren't you? The other people were...Kokuyo, Qu and Taiga, right? It's a pretty interesting lineup. The performance looks like it's different from the usual P stages, but I wanna know how it actually feels for you when you get up there. Ran Well, now that ya mention it... Rindou, well if everyone is misbehaving, it's like he won't know what to do. As for Kokuyo... Lico Kokuyo? What did he say? Ran Well, all I hear from him is that "I'm the top!," but he's actually pretty good at supporting [the team] too. Even if I did go wild, I'd get crushed immediately by him. Lico He does? It's pretty hard to imagine him being that helpful. Sotetsu Not at all. Kokuyo's pretty handy to have around too. Isn't it great for you to be able to see it, Ran? Ran We~ll. He is the "oldest" top member. So I guess 's to be expected? But the performance right now is su~per fun! Of course, nothing beats being able to perform as Team B, but there's not much I can do about it. Lico Well, if you're having fun there's no harm in it. Keep doing your best, alright?
