ok wait i have kind of a long reaching headcanon but i think its funny.

so, Black Pete says in episode 7 “why i dont i take some men out on reconnaissance, see what we can’t rustle up”

now, reconnaissance comes from the french “reconnaitre” which means “to recognize”.

reconnaissance wasn’t a word truly familiar to the english language until the mid-1800′s. by technicality its presence is an anachronism.

so what if Black Pete speaks french.

look, it makes sense, his thing in episode 2 starts with french men and he clearly has a modicum of understanding of the language. so what if he speaks french.
