What a weird collaboration: Yu-Gi-Oh! x Sanrio x McDonald's Happy Meals?
Can barely tell Cinnamoroll is dressed as a BEWD, but I couldn't resist...

Won't having art to share this week so here my favorite page from Jonouchi's comic, you can still read it by buying it on my kofi.
It's been so long since I drew a proper comic, about two years, and being able to work in one and experiment more with mixing traditional and digital art felt extremely satisfactory. I still feel is messy, it was my first time working with textured layers and I know that I could have done a better job, but in the end all I can feel about it is pride and motivation to do more.
I'm very happy of getting back the joy of drawing comics, specially thank to yugioh. Never thought it would happen lol. And I want to keep working on more comics and see what I am capable of!
Here an extra too, a more sketchy example of a page.

Original post here. Took me a few months due to laziness, but I finally got backdrops fitted and lights installed, and added a few new things, so the shelves are a bit fuller : )
Dark Magicians and Yami's Duel Monsters shelf:
Egyptian themed shelf:
Seto Kaiba and Blue Eyes shelf:
I swapped the 2nd and 3rd shelves from the original layout - slightly nervewracking having a 20 lb statue on the middle shelf, but at least that minimizes the visual interruption of the horizontal support bar.
Also not 100% sold on the 3rd shelf backdrop, the blue circuit board looks okay from a distance but it gets busier the closer you get. I might end up doing a space one instead, if it gets to be too much.

[Entry from 2022 July 08]
Decided to draw the Dark Magician as my tribute, and as I was drawing him earlier, it felt like seeing an old friend.
Yu-Gi-Oh has been a big part of my childhood, and the one that jumpstarted my art style in 2003, away from stick/block figures.
Wanted to make a tribute earlier so I pulled out my copy of Duel Art (book with his illustrations) for inspiration, and ended up crying as I opened it.
You'll always be my #1 art influence, Kazuki Takahashi-sensei, may you watch us from above along with Atem.
