Skids has various things he knows a lot about, but is very secretive about, and hasn’t told anyone, feeling saying anything to do with it would not only be painful, but he feels it could potentially compromise him. The only things he excitedly tells anyone about is anything to do with Kirah, whether he’s just saying actual facts he’s learned about her, or just saying how much he loves her and what she does. The only other thing he will talk about similarly is how much he wants to be a bin man (it’s his dream job and he has a huge admiration for them), and what he knows about the job from watching bin men before he was forcefully “employed” at ScumBucketz.

nvm this is still on my brain. kim does not like to watch harry suffer… to say that kim takes satisfaction in harry’s pain is a huge misconstruing of his character.
the “getting thrashed like a schoolboy” line comes from a board game, lol. it’s a tease, not a cruelty. there’s never any line that implies that Kim enjoys seeing Harry taking actual morale damage.
he can be amused if you fail a check, but the check is always relatively inconsequential, and again, Harry isn’t taking damage in these.

(also in both of these examples he only responds smugly if you choose for Harry to stubbornly dig in his heels. if Harry gets huffy, Kim teases. If Harry backs down right away Kim won’t rub it in, which feels significant to me! it reminds me of that recent post goin around about Kim meeting your energy!)

it’s affectionate ribbing!! twisting it into anything else is bizarre 2 me lmao!
anyways. kim is a foil to every other cop we meet in the game specifically because he doesn’t view harry as a punching bag or a lost cause. gottlieb does nothing but sling jabs and glib jokes about harry’s health. torson+mclaine and the others laugh at harry’s panic attack over the radio. in response to harry’s suicide-by-car attempt(!!!!) jean yells about RCM budget. all kim’s lines in response to harry’s check failures and health-damage are consistent, explicit textual contrast against the callousness of the rest of the RCM. twisting kim’s character here requires a bad faith interpretation of the whole game.

stupid fluffy crackfic thoughts entirely inspired by the replies on this ask from @greatstormcat
okay, bin day with domestic!141 under the cut
price is the unofficial "binfluencer" of the street. you absolutely rely on him to make sure you're putting out the general waste and glass recycling on the correct week. his bins are out at 8pm the night before collection, no earlier and no later. they're lined up with military precision outside his house, carefully placed so they don't block the pavement too much nor do they block his driveway. he never gets caught out by a bank holiday collection change.
gaz isn't quite on price's level but he puts out the correct bin 9 out of 10 times. he puts his bins out the night before too but it's not uncommon to hear him dragging the wheelie bin out at 10pm. less methodical about where he places his bins but it's not terrible. has definitely accidentally blocked his garden gate before. occasionally gets caught out by bank holidays but makes the effort to move his bins out of the way so people can still use the pavement in the meantime.
soap is my ADHD darling and i refuse to believe differently. he tries bless him, but there are just too many steps to remembering which bins go out each week so he chucks everything out and hopes for the best. has on multiple occasions dragged the bins out at 6am just as the bin lorry is turning onto the street because he forgot to put them out the night before. he's definitely been caught out standing in his boxers watching the bin lorry turn out of the street because he's missed them by mere minutes. oh well. only 6 days until the next bin collection.
ghost is sneaky. you never EVER see or hear him put his bins out. you'd think he was living in an unoccupied house if it wasn't for the brief glimpse you caught of him lifting (lifting?!) the wheelie bin over the low wall of his front garden with a cigarette hanging out of the corner of his mouth moments after it was emptied. ghost definitely has the best relationship with the bin men. they're happy to chuck out his bulky items that you'd definitely need to ask the council to collect separately.

NPT recently got some green recycling bins that lock. I assume it's because the recycling collectors kept lobbing our bins like it was a sport. I once found my recycling bin half way down a street that I didn't even live on.
Yeah that's just the NPT way. The bin men empty them into the lorry and then are suddenly possessed by the spirit of Barry John, but, and this is a crucially important detail, not the skill of Barry John. So rather than replacing the bin on the pavement and moving calmly to the next they are compelled to drop kick them. This results in plastic food waste bins being punted at an average speed of 67mph through hedges, cars, and occasionally living room windows.
