𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧 ~ 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐱 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
Tumblr media
Summary: It had been weeks since you have genuinely spent time with Sevika, and frankly, you missed her. Communication is important in any relationship, right? So you make it a point to tell her and well...that goes wonderfully (it doesn't).
Sevika comes around though, she always does. Because your relationship is more than just a stupid little argument.
Pairing: Sevika x Reader
Warnings: Some light arguing, nothing much. It's Hurt/Comfort lol.
Authors Note: Haha! I have finally gotten around to writing Sevika, lmao. I was nervous to write for her for the longest time because I adore her so much I didn't want to mess it up, but this prompt was sitting in my mind for a few days so I just had to write about it lol. I hope you enjoy!
The early hours of the morning in Zaun were of the sparse times when the bustle of the Underground had quieted, it was thoroughly a city that lived at night after all. This didn’t mean it was any less beautiful though, in its unique kind of way. The few rays of sun that could reach this far down shined through the windows of the apartment you lived in, painting the room in a green-tinted glow and effectively pulling you out of your slumber.
With a groan you curl into yourself a bit to escape the day for a little while longer and flop onto your side to look at Sevika, hoping you could get her to do the same.
It seemed as though you were the early riser of the two of you today you thought to yourself with surprise as you admired her in the light, her firm expression softened as she slept. With light fingers you trailed them over her light blue scars, their pulsing slowed with the peaceful beat of her heart. Smiling to yourself you watch as an eyebrow twitched, once, twice, before steely gray eyes met yours sleepily.
“Morning, baby,” she says, her morning voice making it lower than usual and had you forcing back a shiver at her tone.
“Good morning, my love.” The pet name has Sevika smiling back at you softly for a moment before she tiredly trails a hand down her face, already moving to get out of bed even though she had just woken up.
It was like this every day. Despite the fact that mornings were the few times that you and Sevika could spend together in the day, she was more than eager to escape them as soon as possible. From morning to late at night she was at work, you hardly saw her at all anymore as she drowned in work that had to be done. It had been like this for weeks, the only sign she was still around was when she pulled you close late at night or now.
You didn't say anything because you understood her job's importance; she wanted to repaint Zaun in the light of her choosing and make it a better place. So you said nothing usually, but you couldn’t stop yourself today. You missed her, more than anything. Missed the times when she would pull you close to her on the couch simply talking about the day, or when you would both go to The Last Drop to drink the night away. Now those times were few and far between.
So before she could climb out of bed you grasped onto her waist, sitting up so you could hug her from behind as she sat up.
“Please…stay home today Sev. We hardly see each other anymore, I…I’ve missed you” you say softly but firmly, not wanting to be brushed off. Shifting a bit so you could see her expression you watched as a flash of annoyance went through her eyes, but regardless you pressed forward. “Surely one day off wouldn’t be so much?,” you reason, “You work so hard, after all, anyone would be a fool to not see that.”
A sharp sigh. “Don’t make this harder than it already is baby, a job is a job,” she says simply, nudging your arms away and brushing you off just like that before getting out of bed and walking over to the dresser.
Your heart pangs with hurt as you realize she completely disregarded your feelings, and unwillingly tears well up in your eyes from frustration and sadness but you blink them back.
“Yeah, but the world doesn’t stop the moment you relax for a bit, Sevika. This can’t be good for you, and besides, Silco and his goons can more than manage,” you argue.
“Enough, I won’t hear any more of this,” she says, not even turning back to look at you, her tone final.
“Fine,” you mutter, before flipping over so your back is turned to her and cuddling into your pillow in place of her. Tears flow hotly down your face, and you try to stifle your sobs since you didn’t want to seem pathetic in front of Sevika. It worked for a while, but when you heard her footsteps leave the room, it was like a dam exploded as you sobbed.
She didn’t come back for the rest of the day.

To be honest, you had no will to be productive after the argument you and Sevika had in the morning, instead turning to mope around the house all day. Later in the evening, you settled on the couch to read, a blanket wrapped around your body like a protective barrier to the outside world. It was pretty nice.
You lost yourself in the words, transported to the world of your choosing. You had been lucky enough to learn how to read growing up, a luxury not so common in the Undercity, so whenever you could you brought it upon yourself to read.
All of a sudden the click of the lock draws you out and back into the waking world, and you watch the door as it opens and Sevika makes her way through. You couldn’t help the look of surprise that passed over your face, this was the earliest she had been back home in ages, you thought to yourself. Regardless, you turned back to the words and promptly ignored her. If there was one thing you were, it was petty, although you had to admit it warmed your heart to see her trying to be more present despite the argument the two of you had.
Despite your eyes on the page your focus was anywhere but on it. You heard the clink of keys on the countertop, her heavy boots loud as she stepped around before taking them off. Before long, the usual scent of Sevika filled the room, a mix of cigarette smoke and pine, comfort.
You heard her sigh before she made her way over to you, settling down on the couch by your side. You both waited for a moment, the air heavy with hesitancy before she wrapped you up in her arms, blanket and all and pulled your back to her chest holding you close.
“I can tell you don’t want want to talk right now baby, but I just needed to say I…” she hesitates for a moment. “I’m sorry.” Your eyes widen once more in surprise. Arguments in any relationship were inevitable, you and Sevika were no different, but she was never one to apologize. Instead, she would make it up to you in other ways, so hearing her say sorry almost made you want to cry again.
“I should have heard you out before getting short with you. Work has been…difficult lately, but that’s not an excuse I can give. There is none, frankly, I was shitty and I haven’t been spending enough time at home where I should be, by your side. I talked to Silco about it because you were right, I’m not the only person capable of doing jobs. Maybe the only one who can do them properly,” she scoffs, which makes you laugh lightly, “but still. I’ll be around more often, I promise,” she finishes before quieting again, waiting to hear what you have to say.
You wiggle around in her grasp for a moment and she lets you go immediately, a sound of displeasure coming from her throat as she probably thought you were trying to leave. But you were only trying to turn around to face her, and that was a bit difficult when she had effectively turned you into a human burrito with the blanket.
Straddling her waist you throw your arms over her neck.
“It’s alright Sev, I forgive you,” you say, pressing your lips to her cheek chastely. “That’s all I wanted, I have missed you a lot lately.” Sevika has a far-off look in her eyes for a moment, regret flashing through them.
“I’ve…missed you too baby,” she says before she grasps your chin between her fingertips and captures your lips between hers in a passionate and tender kiss.
“But you won’t have to anymore,” she grins.
A/N: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I HOPE THAT WAS OKAY LMAO.
