a thing about rtd's era that i really really love seeing again is how he will usually wrap up the plot 10 or even 20 minutes before the episode ends and then the rest of that time is just dedicated to the characters talking to each other and dealing with their emotions and situations. like instead of a last minute win and a two minute goodbye they always get these massive spans of time to really get into everything emotionally and it always makes the episodes hit even harder

#this is rly on my mind since i just finished rewatching s3 too and like. the end of the #world plot wraps up in like 30 minutes the rest is just the characters talking to each other it's so good. houghhdgdgh #like they always leave so much time for everyone to just. HAVE CONVERSATIONS. and every #character has so many little things they do like for example martha calling up the ppl she #met during the year that never was.. like. you could say those scenes weren't necessary coz they #dont add anything to the plot and they really dont! we coulda spent that time on the Big Bad Villain. and yet it's a #much better use of that time because it makes everything feel so much more real #yes these ppl wont even remember meeting martha but here they are. they're okay and she cares abt them so much #same with the new ep like the plot ends at like minute 40 the rest is just them hanging out😭😭😭 it's so good....#doctor who #14th doctor #10th doctor #15th doctor #rtd #the giggle

#full time studying / volunteering at the refugee center / volunteering at two clinics #literally ab to have a meeting ab shadowing a doctor who’s researching ftd dementia in like 50 minutes #organic chemistry research 5 days a week bc ur bitch is trying to get published #hitting the gym 6 days a week. I’ll probably have to move it to mornings soon #meal prep #trying to snag a lowkey part time job #trying to read 30 minutes before bed #somehow have 2 fit a social life into this #I’m excited bc I finally feel like my time budgeting abilities are being put to the test BUT holy fuck .#studying will be my no 1 priority always. literally catch me doing anki cards in any pocket of free time I have #but I better live up to the challenge of juggling everything else too #ik I got this. and these are all things im choosing to do. not things I have to do #and I love being busy so it’ll be so fun #just had to be in awe for a second bc I used to admire girls who’re like this. and I am officially about to be one of them #p

My god, Disney+ is the most infuriating streaming site, I cannot believe it. It errors 99% of the time. It tells me to clear cache and data to fix. And once I do, it can't even let me log back in. I have 30 days of testing the service. Are they fucking out of their minds that I would ever pay for this service.

the best thing about keeping an easily accessible gallery of your super old art is that sometimes you look at it and go insane when you remember how much effort it took you to make that shit and knowing it'd now take you a FRACTION of the time and effort to draw something significantly better now

God... I have so many Thoughts about Scott Pilgrim Takes Off. The original comics/movie had a message of "The power of love IS powerful, but isn't enough to fix things on its own. You have to be willing to change yourself first, and it's never too late to make that change."

And like that's a good message! The first 3/4ths of the series kinda fumble that message, and then it only shows up at the end, but that really helps define the emphasis on that last part.

The original series has also aged like fucking MILK. Bryan Lee O'Malley has been VERY open about the fact that it hasn't aged well, and that even when it was being released he could have handled parts of it a lot better.

And so when he got the chance to make a 'faithful adaption' of his comic into an animated series, a full decade and a half later, what did he do? He took the message to heart and changed the series to be so steeped in that message that it permeated every single moment of it, because even if the series was complete, it still wasn't too late to change it and convey that message better.

#anyway i think 'rebuilds' are my new favorite genre #Evangelion FFVII and Scott Pilgrim #all three of them having their creators (to various extents of the word) look directly at their own thing and be like 'This could be better'#and just trying again. the originals are still there. they dont WANT to just do the originals again.#its the mass media equivalent of when an artist posts a sketch from 10 years ago next to them drawing it again now #and there is something beautiful about that!#i just rewatched the movie and the series again back to back #the movie was really hard to sit though #especially the first 30 minutes #jesus CHRIST that was rough

Out of curiosity, do any of the iterators in the off the string AU have back problems? I can't imagine the umbilical really gave them that much room to move around resulting in them being kinda stiff.

it'd be easier to ask who Isn't stiff jdkglsmdklcdsk i'm tryin not to do the whole "and they were all very cool epic fight capable machines able to do karate chops and myurder a lizard on accident" (← no shade throwing here) that kinda easily creeps into the stuff

like all of these bitches are lame stereotypical (when it comes to body capabilities) accountants. but i wouldn't say that they have back problems- when that's said i imagine stuff like scoliosis n kush yanno? their spines are some tough things, they are the main things holding the whole puppet together and not coming apart in the middle when the antigravity comes off in the chambers. they don't really have muscles to do that job for them, so it all comes down to the spine

the only Iterators who refuse to be reduced to accountants are Boreas, Orion and Haboob rn (with Notos possibly trying to get better at some point in the future)

and from all Iterators, Boreas manages to also be the stiffest one despite his grouping with the other two. he is Incredibly stiff and incapable of quick movement (the fastest stuff one will get out of him is a punch or a stomp for the sake of inflicting damage from his sheer strength). all as a consequence of the paralyzation venom administrations. he's gon bend over to pick smth up and do the grandpa move of holding his back n going "ugh fuck..." under his breath. man's a tank with the grandpa tax...

Orion is still relatively stiff like an usual Gen 1 can be expected to be with being an old model, but before he left his structure/Terminus, he first tried to get some hang of fighting. found himself a shield and a sword and did his best to do exercises that the soldiers during the war used to do and figured out how to move effectively with or around his physical limitations

Haboob is the only Iterator i'd say wouldn't have any physical issues concerning Any of this. her puppet was changed to be able to wander in Sabulum during the Ancients' time and after all of them were gone, she tinkered with it further out of spiteful determination to be useful even though it was dangerous. she's survival ready! so athletic to hell n back, no ouchies in the backies

visited my mother again, this time only for an hour because I couldn't stand it any longer. she's so........ annoying (understatement of the fucking century)

everything is just miserable and awful and bad with her. I just wanted to give her some stuff because she's been trying painting recently and I had promised, but oh my god why does it always have to just be negative?? oh she's sooo bad at it and it's not fun and she doesn't understand the point if it's not for making money. just don't fucking do it then?? no one's forcing you!

which then obviously led to 'oh but you're so talented and you should make money from your art and blah blah blah'

yeah great I'll do that once I get over all the shit that she did that makes it so I can't even post my dumb art on here for like 5 people to see. great idea. fucking awesome.

she also decided she wants to be an influencer to make money :) that was a weird conversation.
