My Girl

A/N: Just a sweet fluff I thought of, enjoy!! 🥰

The moment I laid eyes on her, I knew she was going to be my girl.

James, Lars and Dave moved up to the San Francisco area a few weeks ago so that I could join Metallica. I went to their place to hang out and she was there.

I didn’t see any of the guys around, but she was playing her Fleetwood Mac ‘Rumors’ album on the turntable. She danced freely and sang loudly along to ‘You Make Loving Fun’. I couldn’t hide the smile that graced my lips. As she spun around, she opened her eyes and screamed falling over.

“Oh my god, are you okay?” I asked moving to help her up.

“I’m fine. I didn’t think anyone was supposed to be here.” She said and put her hand in mine letting me pull her up. There was a cute dusting of pink over her cheeks. She hurried over to the turntable turning the volume down.

“Sorry, I didn’t call ahead to let the others know I was coming over, I just assumed they’d be here.” I said rubbing the back of my neck.

“They are out grocery shopping. You must be Cliff,” She started and I nodded, “I’ve heard so many good things about you. I mean you must be an absolute asset if those knuckleheads decided moving up here was the best choice for the band.”

“I sure hope so.” I grinned, “And you are?” I asked.

“Oh, shit sorry! I am Y/N, James is my cousin. I am just here for a visit to see if I like it up here.” She said, folding her arms.

“And if you like it here?” I asked as my eyebrow hiked up.

“Then I will find a place up here, and a job.” She answered.

“Do you want to do that?” I questioned leaning against the couch.

“Yeah, I mean I want to be close to James, we were raised together so we are more like brother and sister, but on the other hand I grew up in the LA area so moving out of my comfort zone is a little hard for me. Plus I’d have to make friends, I can’t rely on James and his friends to be my only friends.” She opened up with ease. For some reason that made my heart warm.

“All valid points, growing up is hard sometimes, and pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone can definitely be uncomfortable. Besides, I would like it if you moved up here.” I smiled. Her eyes met mine in a small look of surprise.

“You hardly know me.” She said softly.

“Yeah, but I’d like to get to know you better.” I said. The light dusting of pink she had on her cheeks earlier turned a darker shade of pink.

“I suppose I’d like to get to know you better too.” She answered coyly, making me chuckle.

“How long is your visit?” I asked.

“I will be here for a week, I got in yesterday.” she answered.

“Alright, then if you have some time this week, as a San Fran native I will show you around. Give you the local tour.” I offered.

“That sounds nice, I would like that a lot.” She smiled so sweetly at me, my heart melted.

“WE’RE BACK!” Lars' voice echoed through the house, ending the moment we were having.

“Oh you’re here.” Dave said as he walked past me to take some of the groceries to the kitchen.

“Nice, I wanted to introduce you two soon. Cliff, this is Y/N. Y/N, this is our new bassist who replaced Ron.” James said, sitting the beer down on the coffee table.

“We definitely met like 10 minutes ago when this beanpole scared the ever living shit out of me.” Y/N said, folding her arms letting out the most adorable huff looking away. I let out a chortle.

“Beanpole?” I questioned, but she wouldn’t budge. James raised his eyebrow, turning to look at me and I couldn’t hide my smirk. “I thought you guys would be here, and she thought she was alone-” I started.

“Oh my god did you see her naked?” James’ eyes widened and his nostrils flared. I put my hands up and Y/N whipped around.

“No!” She exclaimed, “I was singing and dancing.” She said more softly.

James cracked up holding his gut as he laughed.

“Sorry, man, nobody should be subjected to that train wreck.” James wheezed. Y/N wound her fist back landing an impressive punch on James’ arm.

“Ow, I was just joking!” He whined, she glared at him. If she could shoot fire from her eyes, James’ would be nothing but ashes.

“I don’t know, I kinda liked it, she looked like she was really enjoying herself, like she was free.” I grinned. Y/N hid her face but I caught a glimpse of the small smile on her lips as James looked up at me and then to her.

“I’m not saying anything because it isn’t my place-” He started.

“Then don’t say anything.” She shoved him softly and left for the kitchen. I heard her asking Dave if she could help put things away.

“You were saying?” I was curious to hear what he had to say.

“Break her heart and I’ll bust your face. She’s a big girl and can make her own decisions. However I’ll gladly put anyone who disrespects her in their place.” James finished.

“I respect that.” I nodded.

“Good. There is more beer in the car. Will you help bring it in?” James asked.

“Sure man.” I answered and went to grab the beer.

I was mentally planning out all the spots to take Y/N on her tour. She doesn’t know it yet, but I do, she is going to move up here and in no time at all, she will be my girl.

"Alright, you guys! How are we feeling tonight?"

Daya smiled as the crowd enthusiastically yelled in reply. It was probably the biggest venue of the tour so far, she still couldn't believe all ten thousand of them were there to see their band.

"Seems like they are having fun, Betty," Bosco chimed in as they checked their bass to make sure everything was in check for the second half of the show, "Aren't you, loves?"

The fans cheered even loudly, many holding up different handmade signs for each of the members.

Daya took off her guitar, gently resting it on the stage before grabbing her microphone from its stand and walking up to the bassist.

"So, as many of you know, Boscy here," she teased them, resting her arm on their shoulder, "is celebrating their birthday today!"

Bosco tried to hide their smile, failing miserably as the crowd chanted their name, "Thank you, guys," they waved at the fans before Daya continued to talk.

"Do you think they deserve a nice surprise?"

Bosco slightly frowned, that was something that hadn't talked about. The brunette wasn't huge on receiving gifts, being on tour with their best friends was already the best birthday gift they could wish for.

"What did you do this time, Betty?" They raised a brow when Daya tugged on their arm, prompting them to set down their bass on stage.

"Nothing illegal this time!" She joked, earning a general laugh from the band. It was a well-known fact that the pink-haired guitarist got herself in trouble often.

Bosco rolled their eyes while Orion and Willow shared a knowing smile with Daya.

"You turn around and close your eyes!" The guitarist then pointed at the crowd closet to the part of the stage where she had left Bosco, "Guys! Keep an eye on her!"

The brunette chuckled but followed the instructions as they were told, a sense of excitement washing over them.

"Everyone quiet now!"

Daya run backstage to grab something, her heavy boots footsteps were hard to miss.

"You can look now!"

Bosco opened their eyes to be met with a homemade birthday cake with 'Happy Birthday, baby cakes x' written on it. They let out a loud cackle upon seeing it, pure joy on their face as they took a better look.

"Who even made this?! I know it's not you," they gave Daya a side look, "My smoke alarm still has PTSD from your cooking"

"Asshole!" she replied before pointing at the side of the stage where someone was standing, "You can thank me later"

Bosco followed her finger with her eyes until they met who Daya was pointing at.

Jasmine.

She was there, after almost three months without seeing her.

"Holy shit," they muttered under their breath, it almost felt too good to be true.

Jasmine's smile only widened at her girlfriend's reaction, it was one of the few times she had managed to leave them speechless.

"Hi, baby," she let out as Bosco walked up to her, the screams of the adoring fans almost dampened her voice.

The brunette didn't reply; instead, they reached for her waist and pulled her up in for a kiss.

Her legs wrapped around their waist in an all-too-familiar move, her arms crossing behind their neck.

She leaned in to whisper a gentle 'Happy Birthday' against their lips before she was pulled in for another kiss.

Perhaps the seven-hour impromptu flight in economy with a freshly baked cake was worth it, after all.

I need to love and be loved - but that's easy ❤️🦇🌻 A sense of achievement is something I need to fulfill every so often - whether it's recognized by others or not. Mostly a sense of equilibrium - that I can go home at the end of the day and feel completely at ease.

2. Wistfulness for all, generally. But just being able to sit and look at them for a while helps with that sense of equilibrium.

Seeing Skid Row in Concert 20/10/2022✨

This was my first ever rock concert and wow did it set the bar high! I saw them in Brighton with my sister, and the support bands were Collateral and Enuff Z’nuff. the venue was essentially a small nightclub, definitely not designed with bands like Skid Row in mind, but it just made it more intimate and a better vibe overall🥰 I can honestly say that this was one of the best nights on my life so far, and I'll try my best to recount the events. Pictures will be posted soon!

Even tho we got there about 90 mins before doors, we were still second in line and were let in after about 40 mins.

I was talking to a lady in the line as well who had seen the Stadium Tour, and basically every rock band you could think of.

like we would name drop and she would say “aw yes i’ve seen them they're great i’m friends with x members” I honestly love that for her she was so cool.

I was expecting to be waiting for a while so I didn't have my tickets ready and was panicking trying to find them lmao. I was right near the front of the line ofc so I was panicking and holding everyone up but it was fine in the end😂

after that fiasco that wast really a fiasco we went in and we were RIGHT FRONT AND FUCKIN CENTER YALL!

it wasn't long at all until Collateral, the first support act, came on and they were actually aMAZING???

They were all on the younger side so I love that they chose up and coming bands to support.

I also forgot how loud live music is let alone rock/metal music rip my ears and I could feel the bass in my fuckin bones

The lead singer of Collateral was the biGGEST HOE EVER I LOVE HIM SM

mans was pullin shapes and swishing his long af hair around I love that

at one point he got up onto the barrier and was singing right into this one woman’s soul, she was holding onto his hips and he was holding her face with one had uUHHH it was all very hoe-ish of him and I know that woman was absolutely living

the guitarist also tried to crowd surf (I think?) but I think the security stopped him AKDJFKHJ so he was just kinda sitting on the barrier shredding on the guitar as you do ofc

anyways yeah Collateral were cool af and very early Skid Row esque you should check them out!

The next support act was Enuff Z’nuff and oh my god were they eccentric.

I've heard of the band before and i’ve listened to a few of their songs but I didn't know how cool they were live!

Chip, the lead singer and bassist, is just the epitome of seasoned glam rocker dude and he was so chaotic.

as in the band entered the stage to circus music (you know the one I mean) and I was like oH ok this is what we’re dealing with.

thy also played a glam metal version of Eleanor Rigby which was beautiful and unexpected.

one of the guitarists looked so much like Mike from the Young Ones as well, and the drummer was also v cute I think I might have a small crush on him-

but now its the time you've all been waiting for: SKID MF ROW ARE IN THE HOUSEEE

the last song the venue played before Skid Row went on was Crazy Train and everyone was losing their shit it was awesome

just as they were coming onto the stage Scotti gave me The Eyes™ and I almost evaporated there and then. boi was also wearing sO much eyeliner it was beautiful.

btw incase you didn't know the new singer for Skid Row is a very dapper younger lad by the name of Erik Grönwall, lets just say he will be a very important character throughout the rest of this report.

before they went into the first song and the guitars were just kinda reverbing, Erik just stood right in fucking front of me and sTARED AT EVERONE WITH THE BIGGEST GRIN ON HIS FACE LFJKLDHFKD IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT YALL

they opened with Slave to the Grind and

wow

just wow

they sound iNCREDIBLE live and Erik has the most AMAZING VOICE OH MY FUCKIN JESUS

(no we’re not going to compare them but just to put things into perspective, yes it was just like 80-90s Sebastian Bach)

Erik was also just aggressively head banging at every given opportunity my neck hurt just watching him but you could tell the man was just having the time of his life up there

he is also just sO. FUCKING. CHARMING

YOU CANT NOT FALL IN LOVE WITH THAT MAN I JUST- UUUGHHH

It was also in this first song where the initial realisation sunk in that this is THE Skid Row

as in this is the same Scotti, Snake and Rachel that I watch in all those live performances and interviews and just random videos from the 80s and 90s, and who are probably besties with some of my other favourite musicians and-

Rachel also had a sparkly bass which was so beautiful I want 34 of my own

also no-one told he that Scotti Hill was slightly unhinged djkjfkgh

he would just sTARE at you with The Eyes™ while playing and it was very intimidating so I just stared back when he would do it to me

I guess not many people can say they've had a staring contest with Scotti Hill but here we are😪

They played In A Darkened Room and Psychotherapy which I did NOT expect but I very much appreciate as they are two of my faves

also during IADR Erik Took someones phone and recorded the crowd and the band, I wonder how it feels to have a video as iconic as that one on your phone?

The stage was also small af too so Erik would just stand right at the edge (towering tf over me I might add skskjhkfg) and would knock off all the wires there LMAO

the security had to keep picking them up idk I just thought that that was so funny

another cool thing about Erik that Rachel mentioned is that before Covid happened, Erik was a support act for Skid Row while they were touring, and now hE’S THE LEAD SINGER OF THE BAND HE WAS SUPPORTING THREE YEARS AGO???? AWWWW???

honestly the rest of the night was kind of a blur (in a good way!)

that was until they played I Remember You

it was all going fine and dandy when I randomly decided to reach out my hand

and the beautiful bastard that is Erik Grönwall

REACHED OUT AND HELD MY MF HAND WHILE SINGING RIGHT AT ME

our fingers were interlinked for only a few seconds (I actually dont remember how long it was my brain was freaking out) but within those few seconds I officially sold my soul to Erik

my main character moment

a true core memory for sure

I did see a video someone took of the whole song but you couldn't see me and Erik h*lding h*nds in it lkdgfkldgh😭

he also took someones phone again and recorded everyone which was cool bc everyone had their phones lit up🥰

They closed with Youth Gone Wild which was just perfect because me and my sister were, for this entire concert, the mf youth gone wild🥰

earlier Rachel even said that x song was “from our first album, which was released before some of you guys were even born by the looks of things” and stared straight at me with That Smile Of His

Scotti and Snake were also just jamming together and living their best lives while playing Youth Gone Wild it was beautiful🥰

also when Erik sang “a boss screaming in my ear...” he gestured at Rachel LMAOO

while they were playing the outro I got to high-five Erik once again and I also got to fist bump Rachel, Scotti and Rob

and that was that!

I got a poster and also got to meet Chip there too! he was so cool!

just as we were leaving we also met Snake outside skjhgfsghjkf

he was honestly sO SWEET OH MY GOD

I was very very VERY awkward as i’ve never met anyone famous before and was definitely nOT expecting to meet him and I was also in a rush

we talked for a little bit and took a photo together

I got to hug him twice and that was honestly the cherry on top of a perfect night

i’m having withdrawals already I miss them all sm😭

“Surprise! Happy birthday!!”

Robert looked dumbfounded at the scene before him. His friends and family, and a boat load of acquaintances, all packed into his and Aaron’s house. To celebrate his birthday with him. Apparently.

“Did you do this?” he asked Aaron who just laughed and gave him a shrug.

There were people there he hadn’t seen in years and people he’d seen just a few hours ago. He noticed his brother Andy and his wife Katie and wondered who’d paid them to show up. And how much.

“Happy birthday, mate!” Ellis, the guitarist in his band said as he pulled him into a hug. “Long time no see.” he joked. they’d spent the better part of the past few weeks locked in their studio to get ready for the upcoming club tour.

“And there was me thinking I’d be free of your ugly mug for one night.”

Ellis laughed.

“Blame your boyfriend.” he said and left to get himself another drink.

The thing was, Robert would love to blame his boyfriend, if only he could find him. Somehow Aaron had managed to disappear the second they walked through the door.

And their house wasn’t that big.

“Happy birthday to the biggest pain in my ass in my address book.” Nicola, his manager, said as she handed him a glass of champagne and clinked their glasses together. “But you make me a lot of money so it’s ok.”

He couldn’t help but laugh.

“Thanks Nicola. Your support really warms my heart.”

“Always a pleasure.” she raised her glass at him and took a sip. “I’d love to stay and chat but I better go find Jimmy. The last I saw of him he was talking to a girl with multicoloured hair and a rainbow on her ass.”

Robert laughed as she walked away and tried to figure out who he knew dressed like that. it was like Aaron had invited every person they’d ever met.

He took another sip of his drink and decided to mingle a bit in a hope to find his boyfriend.

He found his drummer Matty snogging a girl he vaguely recognised as some up and coming star Nicola kept telling him to make nice with so she’d record a duet with him. Apparently Matty had decided to take matters in his own hands.

He was just about to try make it clear to Matty that he’d kill him if he took that girl upstairs to his and Aaron’s bedroom (it wouldn’t be the first time) when someone wrapped their arms around his waist.

“I made your cake. Triple chocolate, just like Aaron ordered.” his sister Victoria said as he stood on her tip toes to kiss his cheek. “Happy birthday big bro.”

“Aaron ordered a cake from you?”

“Well he knows I’m the best, and he wanted the best for you. Don’t forget to mention me in your instagram post.”

“So that’s what you’re after, promo for your cakes?” he said in mock outrage “And there was me thinking you just wanted to come wish me happy birthday.”

“That too. But I want the promo too.” She said and laughed before patting his arm and leaving to go talk to Aaron’s friend Adam. Robert had a feeling she liked him as more than just a friend. But this party was hardly the place to sit her down and ask for details.

In his search for his boyfriend he got talking to his bassist Priya and her girlfriend Leyla, some friends from the music world, had an awkward catch up with his brother, and took selfies with people he barely recognised before finally ending up in the garden.

It was quieter and it seemed Aaron had worked his magic here too. There was a pagoda in the middle of their garden Robert was sure hadn’t been there this morning and the path from the back door was lit up by lanterns.

And finally, there was Aaron. He’d somehow managed to change into a suit without Robert noticing and he looked amazing.

“Did you do all this?” Robert asked him for the second time that night as he walked down the path to the pagoda.

“I just wanted to you to have a nice night.” Aaron shrugged, like it was no big deal every person Robert had ever talked to was in their house to celebrate his birthday with him.

“Did you invite Andy?”

“Yeah… did you not want him here? I know things are complicated with the two of you… but he’s your brother and I thought you’d want him here.” Aaron rambled.

“It’s fine. More than fine. It’s amazing. This whole party is amazing. You didn’t have to do all this for me.”

“I wanted to. I wanted tonight to be special.”

Robert stepped closer to him and put his hands on Aaron’s hips.

“It is special. it’s all amazing. Thank you.” he leaned in and kissed his boyfriend.

“It’s not over yet.” Aaron stepped back and tapped his phone until a song started playing. A love song that had been playing on the radio the first time he’d worked up the courage to kiss Aaron.

Before the fame and the fans, before thousands of people would sing his songs back to him, before everything when he was just Robert. Robert who fancied the guy he saw on the train on his way to work every morning, and again on his way home every night. Robert who decided to ask him out on a whim after a row with his boss had left him buzzing with energy.

And to his surprise, Aaron had said yes.

Dinner and a movie had turned into curry and beer in the pub near Aaron’s flat and a DVD on his sofa. Only they’d never actually gotten to the DVD part. Aaron’s neighbours didn’t seem to know their music could be played softly and they heard every word through the thin walls.

It was a song about hoping and wishing the other person felt the same and concluded in a declaration of love. Robert had taken that as a sign and had kissed Aaron who had happily kissed him back.

And now Aaron was standing in front of him again, looking every bit as gorgeous as that day, holding out his hand.

“Dance with me.”

“You don’t dance.” Robert said, taking his hand and swaying with him to the music.

“I do now.” Aaron said and leaned in to kiss him. “I love you. Happy birthday.”

yechan used to do be in a band called ganeundong band and went viral while playing with them - they mainly did busking which yechan loves and consistently says he wants to return to at some point

yechan is the group's leader (a lot of people assume it's yeop :') )

they can all play a lot of instruments

gwangil was originally a vocalist and guitar/bassist and learned drums while on superband

gwangil speaks spanish! he lived in peru for 7 years as a kid

their birthday lives are the most chaotic videos

wonsang's best friend/soulmate is park jihwan from yenevara and the first few lines of the song buddy (my mom likes you more than she likes me) were written about him 🥺

wonsang loves animals and wants to make a lot of money so that he can take care of animals that don't have homes

the song love me love you was made with lee suhyun for kara the bom center, an animal center/shelter

sangyeop is the most mentally strong of the group, and has said that he wasn't always that way - he had a hard time when he was younger and that's what led him to where he is now

yechan did a dance cover of brave girls' rollin and no i will never stop talking about it

last year they did a summer mashup of like 19 songs and if you like their music i guarantee you will love this

wonsang loves anime

yeop has a cat named lucky

wonsang has a dog named holly (and two other dogs but i don't remember their names and i think they're more his family's dogs)

gwangil has 3 fish named hola, que tal, and como estas and he stole them from his cousin (?)

yechan has a younger brother named seongchan who he bullies constantly but it's okay cause seongchan bullies him back

they were regulars on day6 kiss the radio and became very close with young k + did lots of amazing covers

they did a cover of maniac with young k and it's still my favorite thing!!!

they're friends with a lot of the superband contestants, both from season 1 and season 2! yechan performed with hong jinho from hoppipolla and lee nau from purple rain not too long ago

the channel blue heart island has the best and most chaotic lucy content on youtube but also dear walwal subs is subbing a lot of lucy content recently and their official channel has lots of subbed content, covers, and live clips
