One thing I found a little bit funny when reading the epilogue chapters and SLR is how Jinwoo is like. Not a very good dad. (He’s not a bad one! But he’s just so solidly a C grade father up until the point he ditches his son to go to space) and then presumably his wife decides to dip too??? (I’m only in the first few chapters of slr tho lol)
I did get that same train fo thought about his parenting methods and how they differ in the show on this post. And while it is funny, its honestly just level of weird bombastic and a lot of "sir that is a child" from me. I do have to say it also feels pretty sad, because Sung JinWoo was not like that at all in the begining and actively never wanted his family to encounter such dangers that he is exposing to Suho since he was 15 (or less). Like i did say before, no one feels more ooc in the side stories than him. The person that literally put his life on line time and time again instead of letting Jin-Ah get a job or leaving his mom to die from a disease that no one has been able to cure. Even after the Double Dungeon, he knew of all people just how dangerous it was for him and stopped Han Song Yi from working as a hunter. He also didnt join the jeju island raid because no one out there, not even the people that had been killed in that dungeon break and those mourning, were more important than his family and spending time with them after Kyung-Hye woke up again. In the dungeon break that also happened with in Japan, Jin Woo also tried to stop himself from going to that dungeon because Jin Ah was still recovering from her trauma. Of all things, his family means everything to him, (and we still see that it does) but he at the same time when he finished fighting all those monsters for 27 years, he almost became a whole new person from maners to literally fully merging himself with Ashborns powers.
He didnt see other peoples taunts as something bad and rather he joked that it was funny, he wasnt above torturing or straight up killing others that also went out of his way to harm him. He really just only wanted to get back to his family, because after he went to school, there wasnt any other motives for him to get a job or find a passion life that he could pursue. Neither was there a point in him finding solance or love with other people that werent those he already knew in the past timeline. Jin Woo just has no purpose to live expect protect his family. The family that he is also bringing constant danger into, but he doesnt care about that anymore, he owns up to that and still fights all the monsters either way. Yet withing his purpose to live, he just decides to take whatever offer Jinchul made instead of, idk, looking for things that you find interesting. (And yes his power help him with the cases but at the same time he could have been a million other things, a doctor, a surgeon, a painter, a lawyer, anything! Detective isnt bad either but its the fact that he never wanted it for himself but rather because someone else– someone he knew – told him he would be good at it.)
And thats fine for characters to have that goal centered about family, I love me some characters that do their best to just live for the people they care about and also go ballistic when their family is hurt. Which is why I also love SL Ragnarok more than SL. Su-ho is out there also fighting for his family, but we see why he cares about them when Suho's memories with his mother and Beru bleed out into his action with other characters, we see how he acts with Beru and Haein (but not jinwoo ahhhh) in the past and without them in the present canon events. His character isnt simply relegated to his family or a void of it [Jin Woo's character also had the same growth with Jin Ah's and Kyung Hye's interactions back pre jeju island arc and smaller moments thrown out in season two as a whole. So I really do believe that Post the 27 years fight, Jinwoo just felt more like Ashborn than his human self.] Other characters also get to say just how similar Suho is to one of his parents (cant spoil sorry) and at the same time he still isnt defined entirely by them. Heck he even goes out of his way, in the new chapters, to tell himslef that he will be different, that he wont become a succesor but rather a version of his own self. And thats awesome! He wants to carve out his own path and not be a copy of his father that is good!
Anyways Jinwoo is still like a good dad or at least has to be bc in SL Ragnarok, without much spoilers, does emphatise just how much Suho wants to see his dad and mom again, but at the same time my problem with it is that it feels a bit void of it, since Suho keeps getting flashbacks of his life when he was with the shadows and his mom, but there hasnt been a single memory (that i can remeber) shown of him with his dad. Its one of those details that SLR lacks which shouldnt honestly, when there are still some panels of Suho promising to become the best just for him. And those moments are really good imo.
Whats even sadder is that there are other implications of Jinwoo never being around much of Suho's life. Not enough to say he dipped, but rather that he used to work a lot (and also that monster fighting took his time too) so he wasnt always home to spend time with his family. The side srories almost made people think that he really dipped (hahahah), which already shows just how much he doesnt spent time with them, even at the end when he fights the monsters he thinks they should go out to eat something since its been who knows how long when they went out.
Noy only is Jinwoo distancing himself a lot from huamn interaction, but also I think he really wants his son to inherit his powers, becayse the way he trains Suho just feel like– very much with how Ashborn trained him. He is kinder in SL Ragnarok due to some features taken out of the system that dont make Suho completely turn out as bad as it did with Jin Woo (this kid was already born crazy), yet the parenting is also like :) 🤌🤌🤌 why, he is only 15 and he has died three times! And not in the nicest way possible too!
Why cant the kid not even know about his powers? "Kids will be scared of him and he will have no friends" but he is already 15! And in SLR he is almost 22! At least in case something bad happened to both the parents there should have been a shadow right there to take care of him. Jin Woo you have millions of them, you can leave one out for Suho and that one can stay on guard in case everything goes wrong. Which it hella did xd.
Also "he still cant awaken his powers because he is too brash" good point, another good point Suho literally fought its entire way through the dungeons just to go home and still asked you to get out but you said nothing! Sir he wasnt going to run away when he was already so close to getting out. Of course he is going to fight you because thats what he has been doing since he got. trapped. inside. that. dungeon.
In the end, I give a huge shoutout to Beru and Cha Hae In, they are the reason this kid is still alive to this day and have not fuked up their parenting at all, like at all. Even Bellion and Igris gets a standing ovation. But Jin Woo... please get some therapy, bc those 27 years in the dungeon were not good for you, you will probably need some otherworldy therapy from like a ruler instead of a normal person, like you are lossing yourself out there dude. You so ooc dude. Omg tgis was too much. Sorry!

Sung Jin-Woo x Fem Reader
Synopsis: Sung Jin-woo being left alone with the twins' for 24 hours
Warnings: fluff and shadow shenanigans, also Karmish is in this
Part 2 of Sir... We have a problem
It began off as an uncomplicated wager
" You think... that you can oversee our daughters for a full day without difficulties?" You arched your eyebrow in amusement as your husband held one of your 5-month-old daughters in his arm. Gently jumping her as she was studying her father's hair, yanking the strand as she babbled while the other one was playing with one of his shadow soldiers' infirmary group. The other twin, laughed and giggled as the shadow mage tickled her tiny belly. Your hubby nodded.
" Yea, and as their father, I'm willing to take the entire day spending with my precious little cuties." Your husband spoke with a fair and appealing voice as he brought his kid up to his face and rubbed it against hers while he gave you puppy dog eyes.
You sighed since your husband has always been busy with dungeon raids, and he did as though he hasn't been spending time with his own children, so your husband thought it would be okay for you to take a day off while he watched the twins.
"Okay, let's make a deal: If you can follow this list for the whole day, I'll let you watch them for next week and give you a special treat for your job well done." You emphasized the 'special treat' part. As you walked up to your husband, placing your head on his chest and hiking your leg on his hips.
He gives a teasing 'oh' "And what happens if I don't?" Giving you a signature smirk.
" No cuddles for two weeks." You teasingly commented. Knowing he will have no choice but to win this deal.
He gawked at you, arranging a hand on his chest. " You wouldn't- discharge me from my cuddling rights?" " I can, and I will. If you can follow the list from first to last."
One of the twins babbled as one of the magic shadow soldiers made small colorful fireworks out of their hands. She cooed in awe, and Iron stood holding the child in his lap, sitting down. His eyes sparkled with fascination. " Yeah... I got this." Jinwoo said with confidence as he helped you with your purse. You opened the door before your husband stopped you, " Aren't you forgetting something?" He said with a cheeky, teasing smile on his face. You sighed as you turned around in one place and gave a short passionate kiss, " Be good for your mama and dada, my little sapphires." You whispered to your baby and gave her a soft peck on the cheek. The door closed behind her, Jinwoo carried your daughter in the air, and she laughed happily. " You and sister ready to have some fun? Yeah?" He chattered as the list he was supposed to follow dropped on the ground.
Tumblr media
The sky was as pure as day fluffy clouds covered the atmosphere, birds chirping like a song in a choir, not even a while three peaceful minutes later a giant shadow cast upon the poor little bird as a gust ignited wind blew it out of the the way with a confused squeak as it took a spiral. The sounds of laughter and cheers can he heard for miles as Karmish flew at full speed along with Beru making sure that morning one of them fall off the dragon’s back. Jinwoo held his daughters tightly as he had the best smile on his face.
“ yeah it’s fun isn’t it?” He said yelling happily . One of the little girls babbled as she pointed to the ocean. “Wanna go down there?” He cooed. The other one gave a big nod of determination. “ You heard them, to the ocean!” He ordered.
“As you wish, my king.”
He dived to the opened water head first, then gliding on top of it, as the water was split into nearly two. They cheered as the dragon was soaring above the water, his claws digging in it.
The girls cooed in awe as they saw their reflection in the waves. Beru asked with the most concern on his face, “ are you sure this is wise my king?” “. Of course I am! Look how happy they are!” He replied as he looked down at his daughters having the time of their lives. Unknown to them, a local fisherman recorded the entire thing since they entered.
The night fell on the horizon, and a small picnic blanket lay on the grassy floor as the pink and blue hues painted the sky along with the glittery stars. His daughters, Beru and Igris, played as he watched from afar. A gentle smile spread across his face. Any average child would’ve run away scared, but compared to his children, it’s completely normal. He’ll thank his wife for passing their boldness and compassion. The phone rang as he reached for his phone in the coat pocket and answered it. “Hello?”
“Hello, my shadow hubby.”
He stuttered in confusion. "Oh, H-H-Hi babe, uh...”
“So... I coming back from my raid in the U.S. it ended early.”
He felt his eyes dilate in fear. Ah, shit. He swallowed thickly, “so, what time do you have to be home?." "In the next 40 minutes or so-" He hunged up within an instant. Crap! she got off early. I gotta head back now. He called his servants and gave them an order: pack the stuff and head home quickly.
The car door opened as you walked out with a small suitcase in hand, you waved the driver goodbye and headed inside, not knowing about the shadow that flew above you, the keys jangled as you were about to unlock the door. Bur the door unlock itself, a welcoming smile on the shadow's soldiers face as he bowed, " Welcome Home my queen." You nodded in agreement. " It's good to be home, now where is your king and my children?," you asked as he grabbed the bag from your hand.
"They're waiting for you in the living room, my queen." He answered. He guided you to your shared living room. You can hear tiny giggles and babbles as you trod down the hallway. Your daughters were sitting against Tank's belly as the magic team showed off their new spells. Your husband sat on the couch and enjoyed the show. He followed to see you standing in the hallway with the softest smile on her face. He got up and greet you warmly, " Hey babe, how's the trip?' He kissed you on the cheek. " Everything was fine, my husband, how were the twins? Did they behave?" He nervously chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. " Oh-Oh yeah! they were great, nothing out of the ordinary." Your arched your brow, something is going on. Before you could answer your phone rang. " Oh hold up a sec..." You opened your phone and saw a video that was posted a couple hours ago: The Giant Black Dragon Kipnapped Three people including two newborn twins.

belatedly in honor of mark’s birthday, a collection of glimpses into luke celebrating the day of his own birth with his favorite girl. featuring my oc andrie (and perhaps some other galactic friends). a little suggestive at points, but still safe for work.
the last of life, for which the first was made
0 ABY. 19 years old.
When Aunt Beru calls Luke to the front entrance of the homestead, he hurries there with trepidation-fully expecting a lecture from Uncle Owen about not cleaning the vaporators thoroughly enough that morning.
Instead, he finds a much more welcome sight: a girl his own age holding a small folded cloth, shrewd blue eyes peering out from the shawl loosely wrapped around her head and shoulders. “Hello, stranger,” she smiles. “Heard it was someone’s birthday around here.”
“Andrie!” Luke grins, clambering up the steps for a brief hug. “I thought I wouldn’t see you today.”
“So did I, but Garit-“ Andrie nods back toward her uncle, waiting by their landspeeder-“managed to persuade Grandmama that I should be able to deliver my best wishes to my friend…” The cloth is pressed into his hands. “And give him this.”
Curious, Luke unfurls the gift, revealing a cotton pocket kerchief. Its starched white surface is decorated only by a sprig of desert sage and funnel flowers in the lower right corner; the plants have been meticulously (if a bit clumsily) hand-stitched. “Oh, how lovely!” exclaims Beru, admiring it over her nephew’s shoulder. “Did you make this yourself, Andrie?”
“I did, ma’am, and hated every minute,” Andrie smiles. She lightly punches Luke on the arm. “It’s a good thing he’s worth it.”
Luke scowls as he refolds the kerchief and tucks it into the hidden pocket inside his tunic. “You really know how to make a guy feel special,” he replies sardonically-then his voice softens into something more sincere. “Thanks, though. You didn’t have to get me anything.”
“I know. But I wanted to,” answers Andrie, regarding Luke with the sort of affection almost no one else does. The grin returns to his own face like sunlight breaking through clouds…and neither teen notices their respective guardians exchange a meaningful glance behind their backs.
Andrie and Garit decline Luke and Beru’s invitation to stay for refreshments. They’re expected back at the Mykarrah homestead as soon as possible; Zaria’s list of duties for her granddaughter won’t complete itself. Just before they set off, Garit shakes Luke’s hand. “Happy birthday, Skywalker,” he says genially. “Hope it’s been a good one.”
“Thank you, sir. It has.” Luke has learned his courtesies well, no matter what the older Mykarrah women believe. He lingers to watch the landspeeder depart, fingers unconsciously resting over his chest-and the hidden pocket containing the kerchief. It will be carried with him to work most days, dabbed over his sweaty face and neck countless times, with each pat reminding him that a wonderful girl cared enough to make it for him. Eventually it will be destroyed when the Imperials storm the farm, burned with everything else…but Luke cherishes its memory for the rest of his days.
~~
2 ABY. 21 years old.
To celebrate the birthdays of both their dashing Rogue Squadron commander and courageous princess (born on exactly the same day! what a coincidence!), several of the X-wing pilots have decided to throw a party. It’s not a high-class affair: the booze is homemade and nearly corrosive, the only food slightly stale ration biscuits, and the venue the base’s makeshift mess hall. But when friends and comrades alike are gathered in good spirits, music blasting, repeatedly toasting the guests of honor with shouts of unabashed joy, none of that seems to matter much.
Seated with his closest companions, Luke absorbs the chatty chaos around him in a happy daze. He hasn’t been this tipsy in a long time-Han’s pushed perhaps a little more jet fuel on him than he should. The smuggler is currently focused on trying to charm Leia into dancing with him, and judging by her eye rolling he isn’t having much success. Those two, Luke thinks fondly, swirling the alcohol in his nearly-empty cup.
“Want a refill, starboy?” Andrie questions over the music, her words slightly slurred. His girlfriend’s high cheekbones are stained with sunfire, a few strands of her coppery hair escaping from their pinned knot. She looks very pretty.
“Nah. Any more, I’ll sleep right through drills tomorrow.”
“They’d probably let you, just this once. You’re an adult now, you know.” Andrie shifts a bit closer to him on the bench, arm slinging around his shoulders. “How does it feel?”
“Wait three weeks and you’ll find out,” Luke shoots back, referencing Andrie’s own upcoming birthday.
Her tongue pokes out at him. “Har har, hotshot.” Across the hall, a shout echoes as Hobbie has apparently won a fierce game of sabacc. Startled by the noise, the pair jump in their seats, which brings on a fit of giggles and apparently reminds Andrie: “Oh! You want your present now?”
Luke’s eyebrows zoom toward his hairline. If she means the kind of gift he received last year...“Right now?”
“Not that one, you dope!” she protests in mock-horror. “That one’s for later. This one!” Digging in her vest pocket, she produces a roughly creased square of brown flimsi. “Here.”
Inside lies a smallish helmet decal, shaped like a cresting ocean wave and colored cobalt blue with a white frothy crown. “So you can take a bit of me into space with you,” his sea-eyed girl explains. “If you want.”
His lips curve upward slowly. “You remember Manaan too.”
“Seeing the ocean for the first time with you…I’ll never forget that.” She kisses his jaw. “Happy birthday, Luke.”
Stowing the decal in his own pocket, the birthday boy pulls her closer. “So…how about my other present?” he murmurs cheekily into her ear.
She chuckles low, sending a delicious shiver up his spine. “You’re unbelievable. Later, I said. Let me enjoy some activities where I don’t have to be on my knees first.”
~~
21 ABY. 40 years old.
A hush has descended over their corner of Ossus as evening darkens. Insects chirrup in the forest surrounding the temple; the moon and stars glitter overhead. Padawans are sleeping, or pretending to be, in their individual huts after a long day of training. And in their hut, Luke and his wife quietly enjoy a glass of Akivan liqueur (a gift from Han and Leia) as he wonders: “Forty. How am I forty? Could’ve sworn that just yesterday I was a kid whining about power converters.”
Andrie sips at the floral purple liquid and shakes her head. “Time comes for all of us, Luke.”
“Not you,” insists Luke, eyes studying her intently in the lamplight. “You’re every bit as beautiful as the day I first came to your farm.”
“Oh, stop! Sometimes you’re worse than Lando,” she smirks. “And it’s your birthday-I should be the one complimenting you.”
He sets down his glass and leans back in his chair, lacing his fingers together over his stomach. “Sometimes I don’t think I deserve them much,” he admits, shrugging ruefully. Andrie can sense he means it to some extent-but he’s also playing up his melancholy, indicating that perhaps, if she so wishes, she could persuade him otherwise.
And why wouldn’t she, on today of all days? “Well, I disagree,” she begins, rising to her feet. “I think you should be told that you’re kind, and gentle, and compassionate. You’re powerful, but you never use that power to destroy unless you have no other choice.” As Andrie lists these qualities, she walks around the table to Luke. “You demand so much of our students, but you do it because you see their potential. You are a great Jedi Master. You’re a loyal friend, and a caring brother, and our nephew admires you.” Having reached his chair, she leans over him and his gaze flicks in her direction. “And you’re a wonderful husband…” A slender hand ghosts over his close-cropped beard. “And if I may say so, incredibly fucking sexy.”
Luke exhales a long slow breath, as much from her words as her touch traveling over his neck, his chest, lower still. “Andrie…”
“Hm?” she hums, pausing at his belt buckle.
In one swift motion, he sits upright again and pulls her onto his lap. As she exclaims in delighted surprise, he presses a kiss to the hollow of her throat, a grunt escaping him as he grinds his awakening arousal against her. “You really know how to make a guy feel special,” he manages, voice already rough with desire.
Andrie responds with a choked mewl, hands fisting in his hair and forcing him to make eye contact. “Happy birthday, my love,” she smiles before their lips meet, and part. His tongue slides in, warm and wet and insistent; his flesh hand glides up her ribs to cup her breast, thumb running over the nipple as it hardens even through the layers of her robes. Pelvises stir and stutter, searching for friction. Husband and wife sigh into each other’s mouths, soft as the breeze stirring the leaves outside. Whether they make it to the bed is debatable-but they know for sure that the Solos will be receiving a glowing thank-you note for that Akivan liqueur.
~~
35 ABY. 54 years old.
“Leia’s asking for you,” Andrie informs him, standing at the door to his quarters. (His, not their. Neither of them is ready for that yet.) “Poe’s organizing a little birthday toast for you two and she-“
“No.” Realizing how harsh that must sound, Luke hastily adds, “Thank you. I’d rather not.” The matter thus settled, he returns to the broken radio transmitter he was inspecting. Tinkering with things has always helped keep him calm and focused.
But Andrie doesn’t leave him alone, as he’d prefer. Crossing her arms, she frowns and says, “Don’t want them goggling at you like a zoo animal, huh?”
“…I guess that’s one way of putting it,” he acknowledges, placing the transmitter aside for the moment. Sitting on his bunk, Luke regards his wife as she fixes her eyes right back on him. The floor space between them might as well be a chasm. Six years of separation, of outright abandonment and deep wells of anger and pain, don’t simply vanish because an enemy is defeated. Their Force signatures dance so cautiously around each other, their past sinuous twining only an echo. The love remains, but the rest must be rebuilt…and if Luke could have any birthday wish fulfilled, that would be his choice.
And Andrie wants this too, he can feel it. But now isn’t the time to begin yet another hashing out. They stare in silence for another heartbeat before she relents, “All right, I’ll tell her. But before I go, can I give you something?”
He nods, fairly certain he’d requested no gifts of any kind today. Stepping into the simply furnished room, Andrie removes a cloth pouch from her jacket and places it in his outstretched palm. “I kept this,” she explains, “all the time you were gone. Almost didn’t…thought about burning it a few times. But I just couldn’t. It meant too much.”
Loosening the pouch strings, Luke turns the bag over and shakes out a braided leather cord. It is worn and fraying with age, its rich brown color now faded, but he’d recognize it anywhere. He hasn’t seen it since… “Stars,” he breathes, threading it through his fingers. “You want me to have this?”
“I do.”
“But why? I took everything this cord stands for and disgraced it. I was horrible to you. I-“ He stops himself cold before he truly careens down the shame spiral. “I can’t accept this.”
Andrie lowers herself onto the mattress and rests a comforting hand on his back. “You can keep it, but I want it to belong to both of us again. This is a symbol of what we promised each other on Endor. Our hearts and our lives, bound together in the living Force…”
“And what’s vowed in the Force can’t be undone,” he finishes. “I know. I don’t want to undo it.” He sighs heavily, then turns to face Andrie. “But I don’t think I’m worthy of this yet. I need more time.”
He half expects that famous Mykarrah temper to lash out at him then, for her to bite his head off like a rampaging rancor. But they are not the headstrong desert children that joined the Rebellion so many years ago. They have learned patience. They have endured horrors. And somehow, through everything, they have loved with a fierceness that still shocks him. She takes the cord from him and replaces it in its pouch, tying it tight. “Take all the time you need,” she reassures him. “You know where to find me.”
Leia still needs to be informed that her brother won’t be attending the birthday toast, so Andrie makes her exit. But before she does, she pecks her husband on the forehead and wishes him “happy birthday, Luke” with such tenderness his heart swells. The warmth of her surrounds him long after she leaves.
~~
59 ABY. 78 years old.
“Master Skywalker!”
Turning on the path, Luke meets the bright, nervous face of a young female Togruta, dressed in Padawan robes. Her purple lekku nearly trembling, she holds out to him a scraggly bouquet of wildflowers. “For you,” she clarifies helpfully. “For your birthday.”
He nods graciously at the child and accepts the flowers. “Thank you, Noshaa,” he says (once Luke learns a student’s name he never forgets it). “And how did you know it was my birthday?”
The answer is obvious before Noshaa replies. “Master Mykarrah told us after meditation. She said if we wanted we could give you a present, so Seffi and I picked those.”
“And you both chose well.” Indulgently Luke pats her on the head. “I’ll keep them in my quarters. Now run along or you’ll be late to saber practice. Master Rey doesn’t like to be kept waiting.”
After Noshaa skips back along the garden path, Luke continues slowly on his way, leaning against the staff he has increasingly come to rely on these past few years. Had he really felt so old at forty? He’d dive into the sarlaac pit if it meant he could be middle-aged again. Staring down eighty means a motley collection of twilight maladies, including the culmination of a lifetime of chronic injuries. The phantom pain of his cybernetic hand, the stiffening of his bones from the emperor’s Force lightning, the Force projection at Crait which had weakened his heart and nearly cost him his life…and those are just the major occurrences. Some mornings Luke can barely rise from his bed, and every night brings a wave of exhaustion like he’s never experienced.
And yet…even as his body fails him, his mind remains clear and he is strong in the Force. He is loved by his Padawans, by his surviving friends, by the galaxy at large-
And by the woman dearer to him than anyone else.
She sits on a bench overlooking the valley the resurrected Jedi Order calls home, though she immediately stands when she hears his staff tapping against the flagstones. “I was wondering where you were,” Andrie remarks as she guides her husband to his seat. Noticing the flowers, she asks, “From Noshaa and Seffi?”
Glad to be off his feet for a while, Luke passes the bouquet to his wife as he settles into the weathered bench. “Yes,” he groans, wincing as joints crack and pop. “Very sweet girls, but…I don’t like being fussed over much anymore.”
“Our older pupils are already aware it’s your birthday, Luke,” Andrie points out. “They would’ve told the young ones anyway. I just beat them to the punch.”
“…Still,” he mutters, “it’s the principle of the thing.”
“I apologize, then. I should have asked you first.”
“You’re forgiven.”
They don’t speak for a few minutes, soaking in the beauty of this place; after decades of a shared life, silences feel natural and perhaps even needed. Eventually Luke speaks: “Sometimes I think about him.”
“Who, dear heart?” Andrie inquires, slipping her hand into his.
“Him. Me. Who I once was.” Staring at the clouds drifting across the distant mountains, Luke continues as though he’s recounting a half-remembered dream. “I see that farm boy in my mind, yearning to leave that desert and become a great pilot, totally unaware of his destiny…he’s almost a stranger, but I know him far too well.” The lines and furrows of his face deepen in thought; his hair and beard (now with no trace of their former blond) ruffle in the breeze. “Do you ever think about her?”
“Often. More often now then I used to.” Andrie’s own hair contains only a few strands of copper, as always creeping stubbornly from their bindings. “I’m sad for her. She was angry and trapped and felt she could do nothing except snap her teeth at shadows…” Her grip tightens gently around Luke’s hand. “And then she met him.”
“The Force led them to each other, you mean,” he smiles nostalgically.
“And before they even knew what the Force was, they listened when it told them to walk their road together. It was long and painful, and they stumbled plenty of times-but it was worth it.”
Leaning over, Luke nuzzles her cheek, breathing in the scent of her. Andrie purrs a little at the sensation of his beard on her skin. “There are many things I’d do differently if I had the chance,” he confesses. “But not this. Not choosing you.”
“I told you a long time ago, you’re the only man for me,” she asserts. Then she grins wolfishly. “I don’t think any other man would’ve tolerated me this long.”
He barks a short laugh. “You tolerated me, more like.”
“You’re saying Wormie and Little Ghost weren’t made for each other?”
Shaking his head in good-natured exasperation, Luke draws Andrie’s head down to his shoulder. “It’s nice when we can be together like this,” he opines. “Just us.” And the memory of those no longer with us, the unspoken part hangs in the air. Leia, Han, Lando…their three lost children, never born…all who fought and died alongside them to restore peace in the galaxy. Among the beauty there is bloodshed, and among the bloodshed beauty. Such is the way of the Force.
And they have witnessed so much, if not together in body than connected in spirit. He is the wide open sky, she the restless ocean. “I love you, Luke,” Andrie whispers, one of the only truths she has ever counted on. “Happy birthday.”
“And I love you, Andrie,” he murmurs, drawing strength and serenity from her very being. “Always. You’re the only gift I need.”
“You’re such a sap, Skywalker.”
“But I’m your sap.”
“Shut up and come here,” she snickers, and the two share a playful but intimate kiss. Luke finds himself thinking of the kerchief she’d embroidered for him on his nineteenth birthday, the desert sage and funnel flowers in the corner. Her very first present to him, and now this-what he knows in his heart will be one of the last. Both equally as important to him. Both as treasured.
Five months later, Master Luke Skywalker breathes his last and becomes one with the Force. Andrie remains with him to the very end.

This is from Let's Get Together, the Obikin Parent Trap AU I've been working on. I got stuck for a while trying to make the 'one of them is getting remarried' plotline work, until I eventually decided to just cut that subplot entirely. So, Anakin and Leia (and now Obi-Wan and Luke, because this is in the switching-the-kids-back part of the story) are attending Owen and Beru's vow renewal.
“Is there ever going to be any, y’know, rehearsing, at this rehearsal dinner?” Anakin muttered under his breath.
“I think that’s just the name they give it,” Obi-Wan replied.
Anakin scowled. “Then why make a big deal about Leia needing to be here? I thought we were going to talk about, like…what time to arrive, or something.”
Obi-Wan arched his eyebrow. “You don’t know what time to arrive to the ceremony?”
“It was on the invitation, but I thought maybe it’d be different for flower girls.”
“So we’ll get there a little early.”
“Oh, yeah, because that’s historically been my best thing.”
“You were on time to work this morning.”
“Only because you drove me.”
“I will also drive you to the vow renewal. Problem solved.”
“Hey, so, speaking of which, I’m going to need you to drive me to work tomorrow, too. If you want the car all day, which I’m assuming you do.”
“That would be” -
“Where did you go for your first date?” Leia suddenly interrupted to ask.
Obi-Wan and Anakin both turned to look at her. “Whose first date? My first date?” Anakin asked.
Leia shook her head. “Yours. Like…both of you.”
“Can Obi-Wan even remember back that far?” Anakin smirked over Leia’s head.
“Ha, ha, very funny.”
“What were you, probably fourteen? Fifteen?” Anakin started playing with the straw in his water glass, bending and straightening it between his fingers.
“I believe she means when we started dating each other,” Obi-Wan clarified, and Leia nodded.
“Yeah! That.”
“Oh.” Anakin quickly sobered up. “Well, actually, sweetie, Obi-Wan and I…we didn’t really…”
“We had already been living together for a year before we started…dating,” Obi-Wan said, rolling the word around in his mouth.
“And you and Luke were just babies, so it was kind of hard for us to” –
Obi-Wan knew Anakin was trying to catch his gaze and purposefully avoided giving in, because he had to assume Anakin was thinking the exact same thing he was, which was, they had never really dated at all. They had been living together, and then had fallen into bed together, and the next morning they rearranged their bedroom distributions and moved Leia and Luke in together in one room so that Obi-Wan and Anakin could share the other. They didn’t date. They barely even talked about it. It just…was.
Honestly, besides the sex, it wasn’t even all that different from what they’d been doing before. Luke and Leia certainly never noticed the difference – at least not until two years later, when Obi-Wan had packed up his things and moved him and Luke halfway across the world.
And now Leia wanted to know where they’d gone on their first date. Was it wrong to tell a ten-year-old that your first date with her father had happened entirely inside your own bedroom? Probably.

agree with you when it comes to misogyny in the fandom (and in general lol) and shipping etc and I wanted to dump this here because it's been bugging me and I have nobody to talk to about it irl that hasn't heard me muttering about it before but why do people seem so anti-romance in general? I see 'Star Wars doesn't need romance or a love story' all the time and I can't help but feel like it falls into the misogyny category a little because romance is seen as something inherently feminine or 'for the girls' ig so people think it's an unnecessary addition to a plot but it can actually affect a character and how they act/think etc so much whether that's for good or bad, hope that makes sense?
obviously not every character needs a great romantic love and Din-doesn't-need-or-want-love enjoyers do your thing but even in the first season he clearly considers Omera and seems open to the idea at least, so people being against Bo just doesn't make sense to me? has she done bad things? well yeah but what character hasn't in Star Wars? and even if it's not Bo I still see it thrown around that Star Wars doesn't need a love story but why? what's wrong with romantic love? there are other shows that they're making/have made that yeah shoehorning in a romance would've made no sense (i.e. Kenobi, I mean I've not watched it but I can't imagine a love story working in that) but the Mandalorian hasn't set itself up to be a show like that?
I hope this has made sense but I basically wanted to air that out and it just came to me reading your answers to other questions that it's probably at least a little misogyny that plays a part in that anti-romance feeling going around or that makes sense in my head anyway
(also Jyn and Cassian soulmates truther here so if people wanna beef about them pls consider not doing that or I'll cry, they're basically built to be perfect for each other so???)
i wanted to publish this before tonight's episode (i just woke up for work 😂).
i agree. it's always when there is some prospect of romance for these kinds of female characters that the "we don't need romance" brigade comes out. like, there's nothing inherently wrong with romance nor is there anything wrong with not wanting romance. it's preference. but c'mon it's not star wars even has a lot of it on screen for major characters. at least healthy relationships or ones that don't end in untimely death.
i can name the actual romances on one hand probably and further discussion is going under a read more out of sake for length and because some minor spoilers for clone wars and rebels.
padme amidala and anakin skywalker ends in tragedy, the eradication of the jedi order and the fall of the republic. anakin turns into darth vader.
hera syndulla and kanan jarrus again ends in tragedy. he sacrifices himself to save hera, sabine and ezra.
bail and breha oranga perish in the destruction of alderaan.
obi-wan kenobi and satine kryze never officially get together as she's dutchess of mandalore and he's a jedi knight. she's murdered by maul to spite him.
vel sartha and cinta kaz external circumstances and cinta's devotion to The Cause of the Rebellion put them on shaky ground.
han solo and leia organa are depicted as a kind of volatile relationship and we never actually really see them be a couple on screen besides some crumbs. by the sequels they are separated.
cassian andor and jyn erso dead before they could really have a relationship.
galen and lyra erso ends in lyra being murdered in front of galen.
owen and beru lars seem to be a relatively normal married couple but than they get brutally murdered by the empire so.
so where's the over abundance of romantic relationships in star wars?
i'd like one couple in star wars that doesn't end in a tragic demise or a "casualties: everyone in the local vicinity" type of scenario.
besides a "strong female character" doesn't have be devoid of romance.
allison argent still says it best "can't i be strong and go to prom?"

My 80 year old grandma with Alzheimer’s has started kenobi. These are the comments so far:
“Where is old obi-wan? This one is a good actor but he looks like boy band Jesus.”
“I never thought someone so young could look so much like a disappointed parent.”
“If he doesn’t stop frowning like that, his face will stay up that way.”
“Does he really blame himself for the fall of a boy who he didn’t even know was married?”
“Kenobi seems like someone who claps when the plane lands.”
“I bet he would be a good cook. He slices up Vaders legs so easily.”
“Killing kids is wrong but maybe after the journey with the twins, kenobi might see them in a new light.”
“Do you think that I could pull off a look like the third sister? I mean I sew. Maybe I should crochet.”
“I think Obi-wan is like a goth because he’s sad.”
“Ben isn’t a cool name. Why didn’t he pick like a Star Wars name?”
“Why doesn’t he find a woman? There is no council anymore.”
“Obi-wan was smart to be among the sand for it is Darth vaders weakness. Like should have stayed among the sand.”
“Why is bail a senator if his wife was a queen?”
“Obi-wan is shocked Anakin is so sassy when he raised him.”
“I feel like obi-wan would write a fail on Anakin himself like he did back on the temple with his essays.”
“I think Lola has the sass chip the golden vacuum droid does.”
“Leia is smart. She gave her droid a name and not numbers and letters. She’s the best Organa and Skywalker.”
“Obi-wan is the kind of uncle to never let his brother have anything and then spoil his nieces and nephews.”
“Maybe the should have a yard sale on Tatooine. “??? This one I don’t get
“I thought he was from the mountains because he has the high ground.”
“I remember people calling black people negros and now the most popular movies when I had kids has one as the lead. That’s awesome. Though they shouldn’t just be villains.”
“Why is Anakin more obsessed with finding his old master then wether or not his kids survived?”
“Do you think it would be possible for him to have accidentally killed his children since he goes after the force kids?”
“Leia should write a book about how to get men to behave.”
“I bet Obi-wan would wear scarfs.”
“This show should be called Organa. She’s the joy of this show and it’s more about her. The Jedi are real bummers.”
“Do you think they could be like guides for the plane landing with their light sabers?”
“Why do men feel like they have to add dancing to their sword play to seem cooler than judge dancers?”
“For someone who hated politics, he really is constantly involved and friends with.”
“Do you think they told Leia she was adopted or her first words just figured them out completely?”
“Did they put them with other families to just kill those families?”
“Beru would like Arkansas. She’d like me.”
“Why is everyone blaming Ben? Like sorry mr.Lars, clearly not all Jedi suck.”
“I’d hate for Leia to be mad at me. Her stare can be a lightsaber.”
“A little girl has more fashion than every person I walk by.”
“I wish my hands could still make braids like that. Maybe the internet could teach me.”
“I thought droids were phones.”
“If yoda can take everyone, surely kenobi who already has the height and the high ground should be better.”
“Shouldn’t she be able to take down the Harry Potter of Star Wars if he taught him everything.”
“The mask that was broken showed a prettier face then the one in the seventies. Let Darth Vader be ugly.”
“Bail should send some supplies to Obi-wan. Coffee could change his life.”
“For someone who hates flying, he sure travels a lot.”
“Obi-wan is to smart to not make sure Vader is dead. Or maybe emotion really makes Jedi stupid.”
“For people who can read people, he really didn’t see how horny Anakin was to just see his wife. It was embarrassing.”
“So Palpatine can hide his identity as a Sith for so long and they struggle with the twins.”
“For someone who can like fed the world, how do they do badly not see things coming?”
“Coming from who their parents were, why did they not have like a constant camera on Leia? She is cunning enough for them to notice.”
“Your telling me he was like a celebrity and no one knows or recognizes him.”
“I wondered why he aged so much. Children like Leia are wonderful but I only look like this because of trying to keep up with similar ones.”

Anyways. I desperately want a fic where it’s only 10 years past the Empire (so they could potentially run into hermit Ben and his rabies twins) one day Din Djarin is out on a bounty when he suddenly ends up in custody of a small pointy eared girl who claims to be the reincarnated soul of Jedi Master Fay and Jedi Initiate Grogu (‘wtf is a Jedi?’ ‘…you. You’ll do just fine. Yes.’) and sets out on a journey to find Jedi and accidentally ends the empire’s reign like 15 years early and then Jedi start trickling out of the woodworks like hermit Ben (and his smol rabies twins whom he and Bail have decided to reunite) and Yoda (he actually had to be picked up from the swamp and insisted on bringing his own bacteria with him, what a nice guy, plz stop trying to feed people soup, it’s giving the humans hives) and Kanan and Ahsoka and Ezra (their own rabies specimen) and a bunch of other Jedi survivors are trickling in (Quinlan quite literally landed on Master Kenobi and started a brawl for besmirching Obi-Wan’s honor by Bail of all people and people took bets) and now they’re trying to adopt Din’s whole covert (and giving stupidly good reasons why Jedi and Mandalorians need to stick together too) and clones from all over the galaxy popping up to see what the fuss is and now Din is the very confused Buir of a tiny green frog and a tiny little… elf? Wtf species is Fay? Wtf Din is so confused, and helping rebuild the Jedi order which he never even heard of till a year ago Plz he’s only 28 he’s not ready for this responsibility he’s just a sleepy baby. The only buir move he’s got up his sleeve is enforced naps for both Grogu and Fay. He’s good at cuddling them to sleep. He hasn’t gotten Grogu to eat a single veggie in his presence. Fay eats leaves. Like. The ones you’re not supposed to eat. Master Kenobi cried when he saw her and cuddled her into a nap and made the twins he drags around mega jealous. There is a very pretty twink ghost that follows Kenobi around everywhere he whines about everything and it’s super cute cause Kenobi keeps placating and cooing at him. Not everyone can see the ghost but Paz can and it freaks him out. Obi-Wan decides Leia will be his Padawan. Yoda claims Luke. They will be the best little rabies specimen ever. Bail Organa gave them land on Alderaan to build the newest Jedi temple at. It’s not a wellspring, but it’ll do till they can claim an untainted wellspring planet to get a temple on. Maybe when Luke and Leia are trained so they can stay with their parents (Owen would have murdered Obi in cold blood if he took Luke off planet without asking, so him and Beru came with, but he’s been talking to Anakin’s force ghost and he’s really lightened up a bit with extra info) and Bail is delighting with the gentle chaos all the Mandos and Jedi are bringing about. It’s delightfully less stuffy and so many more citizens are talking about ending slavery now days. Delightful. Fay ends up BFFs with Breha who keeps braiding her hair all pretty and got custom robes for her. Fay feels a lil like a pretty princess and Leia is less jealous than Fay being cooed over by Obi for some reason… but still very jealous. Which leads to lots of cuddles with her and Winter and Breha and Fay. Girls club. Cal keeps coming back with more and more clones every time he wanders off. Wtf bruh.

For the Greater Good - Count Dooku has never seen the appeal of Anakin Skywalker, but, when the Chosen One breaks with the Council over the treatment of the clones, he decides acquiring the boy's allegiances might be worthwhile after all. (Anakin, Dooku, Palpatine) Abandoned WIP co-written with @grand-duc and @thendstartsnow
Ahsoka the Vampire Slayer - Ahsoka is the Chosen One, the Slayer. The one girl in all the world with the power to fight the forces of darkness, or at least she was until she died. She got better, but now there's a new Slayer in town and things with her Watcher are strained at best. Add in a bunch of zombie mind control bugs and Ahsoka's week could be going better. (Ahsoka, Anakin, Barriss Offee, Luminara Unduli) Star Wars/Buffy the Vampire Slayer fusion.
Bursts of Stardust - Parts I, II & III - Collection of short tumblr prompts (Anakin/Padmé, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, various Jedi, various clones)

I played Live a Live and it was an amazing game! Literally, one of the coolest things I’ve played and right up there with some of my favorites. So I figured I’d give some thoughts about all the different chapters of the game! SPOILER WARNING FOR LITERALLY EVERTHING
Prehistory: So the prehistory chapter is one of the chapters I like less in this game, though that’s probably because I’m a huge story person and this chapter has a word count of 0. The battles are incredibly brutal and some of the enemy design feels a bit...bland? Also, this may just be me, but I did not understand Pogo and Beru. I mean, I guess I like the two, but this man sees a girl and immediately loves her. He gives her food and she kisses him. They are now in love so much that he is willing to get thrown out of his village! How crazy is that! Unfortunately, after this point, the plot takes a nosedive off a cliff, only truly resuming at the very end, in which we get to fight A FREAKING DINOSAUR! Ok this is actually pretty cool as a fight, even if Odo is a bit easy. Nothing more to really say, let’s just move on.
The Wild West: This chapter is really simple, but that’s not a bad thing! I think it’s still a good chapter. Anyway, it begins with Sundown, an outlaw. We then get to meet his boyfriend Mad dog and we face him. After beating him we end up going to the town of Success, were we get to your mom a vagrant before beating him up. Things continue to escalate until we’re exploring the town as we look for traps in an incredibly anxiety inducing segment. Following this we fight O.Dio and then get sentimental on Mad Dog, before riding off into the sunset. This chapter really doesn’t have much to say about it but I don’t find that a problem. It’s short, sweet and tells a full story.
Imperial China: Probably my favorite chapter in the game, Imperial China blends amazing gameplay with a stellar story and the best mechanic in the game: Inheritance. It’s also at this point I would like to take a side rant to talk about the visuals and music. The visuals are gorgeous, every area and character looks great. And the musical score is one I would add to my Spotify playlist, no question. But I digress. The disciples! This is a cool mechanic, where you train your next successor. All the disciples are cool and there’s a choice for everyone. I personally ‘chose’ Lei. I put it in quotation marks, because the character you give the most training to will be your successor. And in a shock twist, the other two will die. This moment shook me. But anyway, with Lei and the Shifu we go and beat up the indominable fist fortress. A cool battle based segment, where there is actually some link between story and gameplay as the Shifu feels weaker and Lei is becoming a powerhouse. But the coolest part of all? We fight the boss, Ou Di Wan lee, with Lei! This was a really cool moment that showed the shift in the story, Lei surpassing her master. And then it all ends as it began and Lei is ready to continue her Shifu’s legacy. Overall, a stellar chapter that is a treat both for new players to start with and old players to enjoy yet again. Twilight of Edo Japan: Let me preface this with the fact that I did a pacifist run of this chapter, so that may skew my opinions. With that being said, Twilight of Edo Japan is both incredibly rewarding and incredibly frustrating. There is a lot of freedom and exploration with how you tackle this chapter, but that can lead to a lack of direction and getting incredibly lost. A lot of this chapter is trial and error, as it is incredibly easy to get softlocked. The combat becomes stale after you unlock a few specific moves and the final few enemies that you face are a complete joke. Though when I got to the end, a new day dawning and the game acknowledging that I had gotten 0 kills, I felt extremely fulfilled. It was a tough challenge, but one I had surpassed.
Present Day: This chapter is easily the worst in the game. This is due to a complete lack of story and gameplay that actively requires you to be hit to get moves, which is actually really difficult somehow. At least it’s short and you can get it finished relativity quickly. This is as good a time as any to talk about the combat. Combat takes place on a grid, with you moving around and using moves of both physical and magical capacity. The combat is built around an action gage. All actions take a certain amount of time to do and certain abilities require time to charge. If an enemy is charging, you can interrupt them by knocking them back spaces or applying a stunning move. There are also weaknesses and resistances. Weaknesses deal extra damage, while resistances deal less. Though this may seem daunting, you’ll quickly pick this up and the combat system will feel incredibly fulfilling very quickly as well as super fun. Anyway, I guess we killed Odi O’Bright so let’s move on already.
Near Future: Ok this is a fever dream and I love it. The Near Future is a chapter about a psychic orphan and his robot turtle friend taking down a mecha god statue. This chapter plays like an anime with a deep and gripping story and incredibly fun gameplay where you fight armies of robots. The overworld exploration is incredibly fun and the story takes you by the hand and takes you on an emotional journey. Matsu’s death especially hit me hard. And by the end when you’re flying the steel titan? Incredible and climactic. I don’t really know what to say about this chapter, except I love it. Distant Future: This chapter makes me feel things. We begin with the creation of Cube and we meet Inventor Dad, also known as Kato. We are then introduced to the rest of the crew. Rachel, Kirk, Hewey and Darthe. A strength of this chapter is the complete lack of combat. It enhances the eerie atmosphere of this chapter and makes the Behemoth a nightmare. It immerses you in the fear. It also gives you a chance to learn about the characters and establish their dynamics and give them all coffee. Slowly but slowly, the chapter becomes more anxiety inducing and you worry for the safety of the final alive characters after the tragic deaths of Kirk, Hewey, Rachel and the captain. After Kato is attacked, Darthe and Cube form an unlikely alliance to finally confront OD-10, which we will do through the machine of Captain Square (That we will not talk about because it sucks.) And the OD-10 fight. So climactic and cool. It is such a fun fight and Cube is a powerhouse and badass. After kicking this robots butt, we get a monologue about the nature of humans. Darthe finally opens up to us about his hatred for robots in a scene that made me cry and we finally give him coffee, officially cementing his status as Corporal Dad. This scene made me cry. The Chapter ends as the three survivors return to earth. A truly emotional experience I thoroughly enjoyed.
Medieval: This chapter had one hell of a twist. What started out as your basic “knight saves the princess” story with some super fun gameplay morphed into a hero who was blamed for actions he didn’t really commit which then took a 180 heel turn into Pseudo-sympathetic Geocidal demon. The story starts out rather simply. Our main character, Oersted, is set to marry the princess. Unfortunately, she is kidnapped by the Lord of Dark. So we set out to save her. What ensues is a story of tragic deaths as we slowly lose faith in humanity as a whole all because of one incel who thought he deserved something more than a participation award. Shout out to Streighbow for being more hateable than most villains from other games I’ve played. Hasshe’s death wasn’t surprising but still hit me in the feels. The death of the king and the following mass murder of knights completely shook me. The death of Uranus was sad and made me feel horrible. The death of Alethea was insane and I just...don’t know how to feel. It was an emotional experience. And the heel turn twist in which Oersted becomes Odio? Magnificent. Overall, the Medieval chapter is an experience and I love it. The Dominion of Hate: The final, climactic chapter. I have very little to say about it except I think it’s cool how all the game times together, the final boss was climactic with a tough challenge, amazing designs and a banger score. And Sin of Odio? Literally everything I was seeking and everything I was hoping for. Using all 8 playable characters in one battle was so cool. Oersted’s final speech left me feeling bad for my demonic baby. And the end credits, where we see everyone moving forward with their lives was the cherry on top. All in all, Live a Live was an experience, one I highly recommend for all to play. It may be one of my favorite games of all time and with it’s stellar story and incredible gameplay on top of some of the best presentation and soundtrack, it should not be skipped.

The SL Gang in beach:
- when the boys had taken off their shirts, there may or may not be an unspoken competition on whose physique is the best.
- the girls spend the longest in the changing room, too busy giving one another compliments.
- Hae-in is timid when showing off her body. So in the beginning, she just sits on the shore with a shirt to hide her bikini. Eventually, after gaining some self-confidence, she finally takes it off and heads to the welcoming waves. It left Jin-woo jaw-drop at the sight that Zhigang splashes water directly into the Korean's mouth.
- Yoon-ho flexes his muscles. Jong-In makes fun of it in every second and mocks the poses.
- Hei-in is a beast in beach volleyball.
- Jin-ho is the one who came the most prepared — sunscreens? Umbrellas? Blankets? Sunglasses? Extra trunks? You name it!
- Kanae and Shimizu mostly prefer bathing under the sun. But if they got disturbed, they won't hesitate to throw someone to the water.
- Thomas simply shows up in Hawaiian shirts and a pair of sunglasses. He has always been ready for the beach since day one.
- Yoon-ho hides Jong-in's eyeglasses somewhere in the sand. Needless to say, the temperature feels like hell brought on earth for real.
- Jin-ho doesn't know how to swim. He clings to Jin-woo for dear life even though the tide is only at their knees.
- Goto Ryuji gets buried in sand by his children teammates.
- Zhigang does a hair flip after taking a deep dive on the sea. Everyone thinks he did the hair flip better than the one in the mermaid cartoon.
- Jin-woo surprises Hei-in by either carrying her in bridal style or scooping her up in his arms when she's about to leave the water.
- Thomas effortlessly holds everyone when they're making a human pyramid.
- Beru makes a sand castle/sand monument for his liege, spends the next ten minutes yelling at the waves for destroying it.
- Zhigang has seashells get stuck on his hair.
- Min Byung-gyu plays the guitar as they gather around the bonfire.
- Jin-woo primarily prepares the food for everyone.
- Kei takes photos and selfies almost every second. Most of them are stolen shots among the crew.
- Ippei actually squeals when they arrived at the beach. Kanae has a secret footage of her comrade's complete reaction.
- Jin-chul basks on his seat with a book in his hand. The hunters don't know he's there, but it will be a coincidence if they do catch him. He just so happens to take on a vacation to the same location as the hunters, and he can't help but be happy for them from the distance.
- scars are visible in the entire time ofc, but all of them brushed it off like the scars are nothing. Rather, they are rewards for the battles they've gone through. They deserve this vacation.

cassie is a big party girl, so a formal event like this is not usually her jam, but she loves halloween and she loves free food so why not, right?
darcy lewis - dressing as a mermaid
darcy is both big into parties and insanely curious about the government so catch her sneaking off and trying to explore
davina claire - dressing as a demon
she’s a stereotype witch, what do you want from her? halloween is her jam and she’s gotta be spooky.
elphaba thropp - dressing as a witch
elphaba is not a party person, but she’s accepted that she goes to them now, so she’ll be a bit of a wallflower until someone drags her into having a bit of fun
feng xin - dressing formally
man is... reluctant at best to be here but he feels like it’s something he should experience and see how it’s going
feyre archeron - dressing formally
feyre is mostly here as a senator, she’s fairly neutral on parties but doesn’t mind them at all, and she’s happy her kids get to enjoy themselves
hallie parker - dressing as a butterfly
will probably be filming a lot of the night for content, but she’s also going to get absolutely drunk off her ass and have fun with strangers
howl jenkins pendragon - dressing formally
howl loves formal events, especially because he can mooch free alcohol and food off the government and not have to think about anything
james potter - dressing as a dinosaur
james is wearing an inflatable t-rex costume because he thinks it’s funny, but he has a nice outfit underneath for when he actually gets hot and tired lmao
james witherdale - dressing as a vampire
that’s not fake blood lmao. man is having some snacks tonight and using it as his costume this is his ideal night
jeyne westerling - dressing as a fairy
does love formal events, but she’s mostly here as a politician to make a good impression but she will definitely be having a few drinks
jin zixuan - dressing formally
while he has no social skills, he does enjoy a party because he likes to observe other people and enjoys dressing up, so i’m sorry to whoever talks to him
korra - dressing as the solar system
korra is not the greatest at parties, but they go because she’s used to attending back home as the avatar, and they do genuinely enjoy it sometimes
lan wangji - dressing formally
wangji is only here for his family. he does not like formal events he gets tense and awkward but he’s trying his best
lumine - dressing as a star
a bit of a redundant costume for a literal human star, lumine struggles with formal events but enjoys them, so she tries it out when she can
lyanna stark - dressing formally
girl was raised in a castle, any opportunity to dress up, she’s taking it. she loves pretty dresses and balls, so this is her ideal night
marinette dupain-cheng - dressing formally
marinette takes any opportunity to show off her own designs, and a formal event at the white house is the perfect chance to do just that
mj jones - dressing as icarus
mj tends to go to parties more to observe others than to actually party herself, but she also absolutely adores halloween, so she might have more fun at this one than a traditional ball
mobei-jun - dressing formally
he... does not really get what this holiday is or why it’s being celebrated, but he’s intrigued by this world so he’s going and checking it out
mya stone - dressing as an elf
this is literally her favorite thing she’s ever gone to. free drinks and food, a chance to dress up as something fun and sexy, and some spooky fall vibes to boot? incredible
nie mingjue - dressing formally
this is different to the formal events he’s used to, but he’s determined to give it a shot and see how it goes. initially was going alone because it’s a work thing and he knows xichen isn’t a fan of parties, but he surprised him and showed up anyways so he’s definitely in a better mood
renesmee cullen - dressing as daenerys targaryen
her family is going to this so they need to behave, but they’re not above getting lit and taking someone home afterwards
rose weasley - dressing as a phoenix
rose is always down for an excuse to cut loose and party, so this is a perfect shot for her to have fun
sheev palpatine - dressing formally
he only goes to these things because he has to, so he will simply be dealing with politicians the whole night and contemplating murder
shen qingqiu - dressing formally
an event where it’s socially acceptable, even encouraged, to hide your whole face?? qingqiu’s literal dream man is living do not perceive him. he’s taking binghe because he knows his husband will get a kick out of this, but will also be drinking and stressing trying to keep his friends out of prison
thanatos - dressing as himself
they really don’t care that much about the holiday, they’re wearing his clothes from home and a mask, and will likely be chilling and observing. they’re going with zag, which is really the only reason they’re here at all but he’ll probably have a good time
ty lee - dressing as a ballerina
while she’s never been to a ball before, she’s incredibly excited to try something new, especially if it means they get to dance all night
wanda maximoff - dressing as a sorceress
she’s not a fan of parties at all, but with how insane things are, she kind of feels obligated to go to big events to keep an eye on things
wen qing - dressing as a sun goddess
gotta pay a little homage to the fam, they’re determined to enjoy themselves at this party, because she deserves it at this point. they have a date but will not be providing details on that particular thing because her friends and family are nosy
xiao lanhua - dressing as a fairy
another slightly on the nose outfit, but lanhua is absolutely thrilled to spend the night partying and seeing what the white house has to offer
yor forger - dressing as sleeping beauty
the costume is absolutely because of her assassin title and even though no one else will get it, she thinks it’s funny. she’s awkward as hell but could be persuaded to have fun

I am Extremely Normal about Andor, apologies in advance for the fandom post.
One of the things that really struck me with this one was how they used gender. Remember, those of us who grew up with the original trilogy, Leia wasn’t just the best girl, she was practically the only girl. We joked about it. You had Aunt Beru, the sisters at the Cantina, one woman at the Hoth base, a couple background women in Cloud City, Oola, the fat dancer, and Sy Snoodles. And Mon Mothma, the only other woman with a speaking part. And that’s it for three movies! The galaxy is overwhelmingly, distractingly, male. So I kept finding myself looking at Ferrix and Aldhani and Coruscant and just constantly being amazed at how many women there are. Foreground women, background women, an old woman! Hookers, antiques dealers, scrappers, organizers, a child! A surly teenage girl child! The governor’s wife! It’s right and correct and I’m glad they did it but also it was distracting because I’d been conditioned to expect so much less.
And then we get to prison.
Narkina 5 has 5,000 men, plus the 70 or so imperials guarding them and running the place. All men. All human men. It looks like, well, what we used to expect. And with that jarring transition you start to piece together more things. How Dedra fights tooth and nail to be one of only two women in that boardroom, how when she is not in the building they disregard her strong and correct opinions. How Cyril has the fucking audacity to grab her on the street. The empire has incredibly toxic views on gender, as well as human supremacy. And it’s reflected in who they choose for the important labor camps, instead of the mines (remember where we’re gonna find Jyn in just a couple years). It’s baked into everything.
But there’s more to pull back, because if it’s just the empire then why is the rebellion also overwhelmingly male by the time of the battle of Yavin? Yes, I know, 1977, but in universe we finally can start to see an answer forming. When we fight monsters, we come to reflect them, oftentimes without realizing it. Fascism uses people and discards them, fascism sells people on being heroes to extract their labor, and WE SEE LUTHEN DO IT TOO. He even says it out loud! “I use the tools of my enemies to defeat them”!!! There are key deaths that take women (and people of color) out of the fight before Yavin, but there is also the thread of becoming that which you hate, a toxic mirror. And I love that because of the way things play out, it shows that sometimes you gotta stare in the abyss anyway. Sometimes losing your humanity for the sake of someone else’s is worth it. And sometimes that damage has knock on effects for generations. And every one of those eggs you broke mattered.
Idk I gotta go do things but I’ve just been gnawing on this too long to keep it to myself. There’s so much to unpack with this show
