I was hanging out with my friends today in downtown Los Angeles and few weeks ago in Hollywood, on both occasions we noticed a small group of nice scientologists (who also spoke Spanish, they are trying to reach out the Hispanics community as well) they were passing out film tickets for “Dianetics” I felt nothing but pity for these men and women, Ive seen enough Scientology documentaries produced by high profile ex-members to independent ex-members and from both national and international news networks, and the one consistent thing that’s reported about that religion is the physiological abuse and in some cases physical violence. I believe the scientologist wanted to test my stress level in order to prescribe me their stress relieving system, I respectfully decline but I wished them a good evening, I’m not a confrontational person and even if I was I understand the pressure that they are in, I imagine that at end of their shift, a supervisor or shift lead checks out their daily progress and if their new customer intake come up low then they most likely get scolded. I don’t know if it was the Holy Spirit convicting me or my own guilt for not passing out gospel tracts but my only thought right now is to pray for these people, I will never consider myself better than someone who’s in a false religion like Scientology, I’m not a Christian because I’m smarter or wiser than them, I’m a Christian because of God choice me and that’s it.
