there’s an old friend i recently reunited w on twitter that i’ve been hesitant to follow back bc the reason we fell out (outwardly it looks like the LJ to tumblr exodus & we lost contact/changed fandoms) but it’s honestly bc they’re really self-destructive. tldr it was super exhausting to see them tweet abt their depression bc it’s the kind that’s like “there are ways to really pull yourself out if it’s getting very dire” but they just didn’t.

and that hasnt really changed? they’re still alive & that’s honestly fantastic. tho they still negatively self talk. in the past four years ive been in SK fandom, i’ve had the fortune of meeting ppl who make me want to be a better person. not so much by anything directly telling me what to do but by being decent, chill people. now that i hope i’m a more decent, chiller person...i think i can be that? for them? i know this sounds super pretentious but idk how else to word it or go about thinking about it.

like, i’ve been seriously trying to cut down on salt, manage my struggles in ways that actually help me & have just generally felt better surrounding myself w decent people that i feel ready to be part of the decent people that hopefully helps others too
