★ What are you planning to read next? We have a four day weekend here, and I’m planning to *finally* read @monicamurphyauthor’s Things I Wanted to Say, But Never Did! I am weak for bully romances in a school setting and have been wanting to read this one since @asthebookends recommended it awhile back! I’ve got the audiobook all ready to go on my phone. 😏 And look at these gorgeous covers! I can’t decide which one I like more. 🤔 I also read (and LOVED) Monica Murphy’s Wedded Bliss series last year, and then realized this book’s hero is the sister of the heroine in that series, and promptly bumped it up on my TBR. It’s been awhile since I did a #sundayshelfie 📚🤓📚 this is one of my favorite shelves, and happens to be the one I face when I can find my desk 😂 my #shelfdecor is primarily skulls, candles and daggers ☠️🔥⚔️ with a dash of twinkle lights for magic, of course! I need to go through and reorganize since this used to be my overflow shelves, but they’ve now filled up. Every time I make space, somehow I end up with more books 🤔 I’m not sure why that keeps happening #booknerdproblems 🤓📚🤓 now, 100 points to the House who can spot my favorite candle company!!! What Did I Even Do This Month?! | October Wrap-Up

This month was a slow one for me. Reading-wise, work-wise, home-wise, everything-wise. Since I graduated from college last month and I'd spent majority of my grad money on clothes, makeup and books, not much has gone on. It wasn't boring, just.....meh lol. Let's dive on in anyways!

IN REAL LIFE (IRL)

I took a hiatus from Instagram for a few weeks, since October 2. I took one look at my profile and was so jumbled by it, and all the different "themes" involved in it, that I just decided to take a break from posting so much. I used to post so many challenges, ranging from fashion to bookish content. But I just wasn't feeling it anymore. Maybe it's the excessive postings? Or me not having enough followers? Or is it seeing my IG peers thriving and I'm just not innovative enough to keep it going on my own? Whatever it is, going on a break has given me a chance to relax and focus more on myself.

Last week, I went to take the permit driving test in my hometown. I was thisclose to passing!! I answered 35 questions correctly, out of the 50 questions and in order to pass and get your permit, you have to answer 40 questions correctly. For someone who has not taken the test in a few months and has been studying her butt off, using the DMV Genie app for practice questions, I'm pretty proud of myself for at least passing 35 questions. Next month, I'll practice harder and try the test again, aiming for the full 40.

Readathons and Blog Challenges

I participated in a few readathons, like Spookie Shelfie (Empty Shelfie), Fem Power-A-Thon, and Dewey's 24 Hour Readathon. My favorite out of the three was definitely Dewey. This was my first time participating in the readathon, and I was really excited. I did a few Twitter chats and got to know a few people. I had to work the next morning and was exhausted AF, but it was totally worth it! At least I'd gotten a lot of reading done.

Book Reviews and Blog Tours

I'm a member of Ingrid Seymour's ARC street team, so I got first dibs of her latest short story, Unreality, which is apart of the Marked by Fate anthology box set. Ingrid is hosting a giveaway for one of her ARC team members to win a signed copy of Unreality. I'm still reading the ARC copy, so my review will be up later in November. I also was accepted into Xpresso Tours' blitz tour for Mick & Michelle by Nina Rossing, which sounds interesting because it's a book about a transgender girl and her family. Another book tour I've been accepted into is Xpresso Books' reviews-only tour for Exposure by Sylvie Parizeau. It's been awhile since I've done a reviews-only tour, so I hope this trilogy will be enjoyable.

Other than that, I haven't read much else, and I didn't sign up for blog tours besides for Marked by Fate. I'm thinking I want to give the signups a break and read some books I've been dying to read from my Goodreads TBR. But then again, I say that every month and it never happens haha! We'll see!!

How did you discover #bookstagram? ⠀ For me it was definitely through the ACOTAR fandom. I found myself totally sucked into it and joined a few fan groups on Facebook. ⠀ Every once in awhile I would see mention of this thing called bookstagram. People mentioning their favorite accounts, sharing photos from them and posting follow threads. ⠀ Initially I didn’t think much of it ... until I found myself down the rabbit hole and eventually created my own account a few months later. Books and photography are two of my favorite things, why not combine them!? It’s been almost two years since those first photos taken on my coffee table under artificial light. 😂 Initially it started as a fun hobby to pass the time – now it’s more or less a huge part of my lifestyle.
