Today is going to be a good day!! I am tired, I am recovering, I am fatigued, but that’s ok because I’m in an environment where going slowly is not punished! I can do things as slowly as needed! Is ok!
#if you see me using tumblr as a platform to gentle parent myself mind your business JAUDJJQKKS#Walt talks#anyway reminding myself that progress is progress#and just because it’s done slowly doesn’t make it less successful#it just means I’m being kind to my brain instead of forcing out a progress spree that’ll re-deplete my battery and land me#in a worse burnout#todays mindset: sometimes adult chores need to get done but there’s no legal requirement to speedracer that shit#and it’s actually crucial I teach my brain that slow and steady won’t earn me punishment#sidenote: if I ever have kids I’m going to celebrate and be proud of them no matter how long it took for them to learn how to do a chore#because punishment for lack of effenciency (that children literally cannot control because they’re new at life) lands a mfer where I’m at#mentally right now#which is ‘if I can’t make quick progress for reasons I cannot control I have a 2nd instinct to punish myself emotionally’#‘and now I have to spend adulthood reparenting myself’
