What are your thoughts on how King Allfire and Queen Griddle got married?
I always had the feeling it was an arranged marriage. It doesn't seem to be loving with Griddle willing to flirt elsewhere and cheat if she could and Allfire simply not caring for most part and cringing at the very idea of being intimate with her or partaking with her hobbies (essentially a Boomer comic marriage just without the hate), but they still seem to be close enough to enjoy little walks together and him be gallant to her and among othr things she does her job of a king's queen pretty seriously in trying to marry off his daughter, teach her how to be a real Lady and shaking him off when he acts a little stupid or balless instead of a King because she knows image and people understanding his laws matter pretty much. Add to that Griddle seems to still be in loce with her late husband Sir Herman in the way she talks about him and has tears just thinking about him going missing so shr might have never moved on (and tried to by getting married again and being promiscuous but it doesn't heal her heart... oof I made myself sad)
So not loving but working, therefore arranged. Plus both are widowed single royal parents (I mean it's never said for Allfire but we guess so) and back then a king and a princess couldn't stay widowed for too long because marriages were business contracts for alliances, especially because in tradition a mother figure had to care for a father's child and a father figure had to provide fot a mother and her child
So I always saw a still grieving King Allfire having to rise a newborn Princess Flame alone being advised to remarry to consolidate the alliances of the just as new Camelhot now whatever alliance was with his late wife's family couldn't work anymore and a still grieving Princess Griddle rising a toddler Sir Blaze alone being told by her mother Queen Mammoth a mother princess couldn't stay unmarried for the sake of both her son and her kingdom. So both were looking for a new engagement at the same time, found each other's advert (with how wacky this universe is I bet royals look for spouses through the papers too lmao) and because they were just what they were looking for got married with no other reason except maybe lust/physical attraction (Allfire was canonically a buff looker when he was young and we KNOW how Griddle is into "beefcakes" plus he was famous among kings for pulling Excaliburn and we know she loves prestige ; and with how she loves to tale care of herself and acts like she isn't old we can imagine she too was beautiful and Allfire didn't mind at all) but that aside no feeling, and they just grew to tolerate each other as they aged together because they had a deal
Also personnal headcanon that King Allfire had met Sir Herman before and the 2 hated each other due to clashing personalities and styles (hence why unlike Griddle who became a mom to Flame Allfire never loved Blaze and gave him daddy issues, reminded him too much of his father to bond with) so Allfire also had an extra petty motivation that felt like flipping the bird at his grave like "I'm fucking your wife whatcha gonna do" XD

What is Blazing Dragons?
It's a franchise that parodies knights and princesses genres notably Arthurian legends with dragon main characters and human villains to defeat, created by Terry Jones who might have never participate in its writin and just created the premise but the writers did a super good hilarious job to make its humor very Monty Pythonesque even paying tribute to Holy Grail or other Python references. It consists of a 2 season cartoon and a PS1 and Sega Saturn point and click video game, but because they both were created and developped at the same time from the premise "Flicker is a very smart dragon squire and inventor who wants to be a knight to marry Princess Flame who is in love with him in return but in the meantime has to live in the shadow of his assholish and proud knight Sir Loungealot and the other dumb Knights of the Square Table - among Sir Blaze who is gay effeminate and loves to take care of hus looks and Sir Burnevere who is both smart and dumb but sees himself as super educated like Sir Bedivere from Holy Grail - with King Allfire ruler of Camelhot barely paying attention to him and has to try to become a knight all while trying to protect Camelhot from the neighbouring human noble who tries to conquer it to rule over it" and neither the game crew and cartoon crew met and talked, both results are VERY different with the characters having very different designs and personalities and the stories and in a way lores are different but still have a very similar Pythonesque feeling to them and are just as funny as each other. The whole show and the whole gameplay are both on YouTube and see which you prefer !

Burnevere Throws Excalibur
Oh dear! It was February 8 since I last drew. And I should be making colored paintings because the black and white ones are getting stacked. XD
This dashing dragon is Burnevere from Blazing Dragons. It was one of the most interesting shows I've watched in the recent years.
This scene is based on the Legendary Arthurian setting, say AU.

So I managed to get one of the two italian blazing dragons VHSs, the one with the 3rd and 4th episodes.
It was published in August 2000 by Alfadedis Entertainment, an italian distributor that sadly declared bankruptcy long ago.
Here's a scan of the cover:

Hopefully I'll be able to digitalize the VHS soon and share it.

Do you ever read other dragon stories? Watched other dragon cartoons/movies/tv shows? What are your thoughts on Game of Thrones?
I LOVE dragons and always did it is precisely for that that I watched the show as a kid ! Little kid me was SURE they existed. I had Dragonology as one of my favorite books ever so hard I was sure it was a real journal and dreamt to keep goint with the searches one day, I had the nintendo DS game too, I love the first HTTYD movie as one of my favorite movies, many dragon characters BD characters aside are my favorite characters ever (Mushu, Smaug etc) I have lots of other dragon books and encyclopedias, Charles à l'école des dragons is an adorable story for little kids with GORGEOUS illustrations and colors (the fact Charles' dad is a European Dragon and his mom a Chinese Dragon is top notch), to this day I THRIVE to get my hands on a little kids booklet Le Prince Ernest et le dragon à trois têtes but I never found it because must have been out of stock and I SWEAR ONE DAY I WILL GET IT EVEN IF IT'S A TODDLER BOOK, I loved Potatoes and Dragons, Dragon Hunters, American Dragon Jake Long, Dragon Booster (though I didn't understand anything about its plot lmao I was just staring at the dragons), any piece of media good or bad I gave a chance to because DRAGON IN IT, I liked the Spyro Nintendo DS games even if I never finished them and LOVE Reignited Trilogy (and want to fuck a bunch of Spyro's dads lmao) Raghnarok is one of my favorite comics ever and probably the reason why I want to make comics at all, I love it when they subvert the trope and have the dragon be friends or lovers with the princess or the knight, I am sure I am a scalie because of all of those, many movies or comics or shows that had no dragon until then suddenly having one (like Maleficient turning into one) suddenly gain +1000 coolness to my eyes, I loved lehends and mythologies with dragons or huge snakes in it and would get interested in the myths more just to know more about them, I loved dinosaurs because they were as close as dragon evidence as we could get, and in fact when I was 8 or 9 I had my very first lore-based story I gave up on since then because what I was imagining as super badass was very childish (but I reused elements here and there) was a series of books I wanted to write in a world inhabited by dragons with dragon characters, dragon-like gods, lots of species and designs etc. Buuut even if they look gorgeous I won't watch GoT for them, never was interested in such a dark violent and hopeless series whose moral is "humans are bad and any form of goodness will always be crushed" I already live in the real world so let me dream

Canal+ once produced these two VHSs with the first 4 episodes of Blazing Dragons dubbed in italian (the first two in the first one, the other two in the second one). These are most likely the only pieces of media related to the show published in Italy.
