Finn: "Just grow it out!"
Poe: "But the bet was about the loser of the match having to shave."
Finn: "The spirit of your bet with Dree was that you wouldn't look exactly the same anymore. Growing a full beard would fulfill that condition. And you'd be rebel as heck for doing that!"

Aspiration Legacy Challenge - Gen 2 Part 1

Hi and welcome back to the Aspiration Legacy Challenge, where my sim tries to become the ultimate Star Wars fan. Not really but he has to complete one of the Batuu aspirations so he does kind of... Anyway, let's get down to business (to defeat the Huns... Sorry I have to do it everytime.)
As you know, this is Derek grey. He will complete the Paragon of Hope aspiration and this is what he looks like when he's not in Batuu. His traits are: Good, Slob and Rancher. After leaving his parrents' house, he moved out to Bindleton Bay with his Cat, Jabba (Da Cat).
Soon after moving out, Derek decided to check out a new gym and he met the love of his life, Kiyoshi Ito, and let's just say they hit it off right away! Which is great because Derek needs to have 5 kids so we gotta be fast.
Kiyoshi moved in, started working in the athlete career and together they've built a nice little home for themselves. The neighbors showed up with fruitcake and welcomed them to their new home.
Kiyoshi met Derek's family not too long after and it went so well, Derek just had to propose. He did it right outside his parents' house, in his pj's. That's just how bad he wanted to make Kiyoshi his forever.
They will stay engaged for a while so Derek can start working on his aspiration. He travelled to Batuu for the first time, met up with some members of the Resistance, First Order and Scoundrels and worked on his first missions. Obviously he's on the side of the Resistance since he's a good sim.
In the next part we'll go to Batuu again and probably start on those 5 kids. I hope you have a great day, see you next time!

Armitage: "Alright, you've had your fun. You arrested Poe Dameron, cool, go brag about it in the barracks. But this is as far as this goes."
Stormtrooper: "Not before this man has gotten his picture taken and his ID updated with his new look. It's the law. He broke it. Plain and simple."
Armitage: "You're fired. You're so fired they'll see the smoke in Galma."
Armitage: "Didn't you hear me? I said fuck off! Leave my town NOW before I go full Kylo Ren on you!"
Stormtrooper: "Kylo Ren, everything else he did aside, never played favorites. You do, Sir, and rebels no less."
Armitage: "We have an alliance with them."
Stormtrooper: "That's no reason to fraternize with the human trash. What if the moment we need the rebels no longer and Lady Palpatine gives the order to finish them off, you find yourself hesitating?"
Meanwhile Poe had quickly finished the updating process. Leaving the office, he left the First Order a little reminder of what he thought of them.
Turning around, he noticed a dust cloud created by a heated brawl.
Nobody dared interrupting, but everyone in the district, be they First Order, scoundrels, civillians or Resistance, kept a close watch on the outcome.
Now Armitage wasn't to be trifled with in a fistfight, but he was far from the fighter he'd needed to have been to seriously damage an armored stormtrooper. She could easily afford to let the angry officer barrage her, only to end this with a single strike of her gloved hand. Armitage wiped the blood from his face and gasped for breath.
Stormtrooper: "One's loyalty should be first and foremost to the First Order. Especially the loyalty of one so high up in our command chain."
Armitage: “At this point we have to ask ourselves what do we want order for, and if the answer is anything other than “the people”, it’s wrong! - DISMISSED!"
Stormtrooper: "Yes, Sir."
Poe: "Hey, rebel-scum! Nice work with the bucket head. You know, as far as speeches go, I liked this one best of all of yours so far.”
Armitage: "Poe! Did you listen...? Did you SEE? Do you understand the significance? It's over... My plan didn't work... They'll turn against Rey, too!"
Poe: "But not today, so calm down."
Armitage: "But..."
Poe: "Emergency protocols both to extract Rey and her supporters as well as to quickly strike against our former "allies" are long compiled and can get executed in a moment's notice. For what it's worth, I'm one of those who are authorized to initiate the process. We just never let you in on that."
Armitage: ...
Poe: "Let's go home now."
Armitage: "Have you made bets? About how long this would work?"
Poe: "Oh, no. Totally not."
Armitage: "Who won?"
Poe: "Finn. But that's the neat part, he'll spend the credits taking me to a date."

Hi! Lately I'm enjoying your Batuu gameplay so much! The crossover with DBH is brilliant)) I was just wondering how you made Daniel carry the stormtrooper's blaster? Is it a pose with acc cc? I looked in CAS and couldn't find it((
Thank you! Yeah, my Detroit sims, they're quite the obsession. I use them everywhere and it's fun to adapt them to all the different settings.
The blaster isn't a pose, it's functional :) You place a stormtrooper helmet on the ground anywhere on the lot and click on it to make your sim spawn a blaster and fire it. After having fired, the sim will keep the blaster in hand until you reset them.

Using a small hammer and chisel, Gavin extracted the crystal from the kybernite ore it was embedded in.
Gavin: "It's cold to the touch... If this were my crystal, it should be warm, according to what you told me. But I still hear it sing. Rather loudly, too."
Savi: “Your force sensitivity is minor only, so your crystal, for lack of better word, shouts to you to make sure it gets heard."
Gavin (to Savi): "Just like Jin, when he wants attention."
Gavin (to the crystal): "You know, I couldn't pick my baby up from the hospital. But I can take you home now from your "birthplace". In you go, where it's nice and cosy!"
Savi: "Among the Jedi of old, there were those who favored lightsaber combat over other disciplines. Guardians, they were called, and their color was blue."
Gavin: “Oh, really? I thought blue was kinda the default, and the other colors the premium choices.”
Savi: “A blue lightsaber is worth exactly the same as one of a different color, if that’s what you were insinuating. It’s neither better nor worse.”
Gavin: “Not the budget option? And you’re not making that up to make me feel better?”
Savi: “Just drop it already!”
The engineer wasn’t prepared for his student to literally drop his new blade at these words.
Gavin: "Whoa! It's heavy!"
Savi: "Huh?"
Gavin: "The lightsaber, Master Savi! It weighs more than I had imagined. No wonder Connor had us practise a two-handed combat style!"

Susan: "Look, I'm not even here..."
Chris: "Don't be ridiculous, Tina! Jin needs these early childhood experiences. He absolutely must be allowed to interact with other babies! And also exchange germs with them, for a healthy immune system!"
Tina: "We don't need any of that, right, Jinny?"
Jin: *looks at the other babies with longing and a wide, open smile*
Oh, my bad! Looks like Jin really doesn't want to socialize now. Genius that he is, he wants to read instead.
And he levitates the pages around himself with the Force!
Arun: "No way! Did Jin just read up on social etiquette before he felt comfortable interacting with us?"
Chris: "No, but it will make for a neat story later!"
Susan: "And he will read at the age of like two, that much isn't a secret. At six he'll become a courtier and will be able to competently fill that role. But those force powers of his came as a surprise!"
Chris: "It's so sad that Gavin cannot be here to see all of this..."

Back at Batuu Connor tried to meditate. He still had two options to learn more about the Force and himself: the cave complex and the holocron. So he wasn't reliant on cowardly Master Tomax' cooperation.
But it was so unfair! It wasn't Connor's fault that he had gotten "cursed" or that Tomax was such a crybaby! A master should have to be there for a student, not even a question. Like Hank was always there for Connor.
Fairness... justice... duty... The path Connor's thoughts were taking was utterly wrong for a dark side user, and so he abandoned the meditation before it had began in earnest.
Connor: "Maybe father wants to spar? Last I saw him was with a grade school textbook. Something related to the school system overhaul he's cooking up. Ah, I know, I'm going to slice the curtains to get his attention!"
Connor: "Ew! What's this? Purple is Tina's color! Did she prank me?
No, this still feels like my own crystal. It's attuned to me, I'd know it if Tina had swapped it out for hers. But how come it changed color?!"
Connor: "No meditation, no duel, no nothing. Still, I feel as if I had accomplished something today. Probably a coping mechanism.
Oh, well, I should see if I can maybe assist father with his government project."

Black Spire Lightsaber Tournament, Day 1: Non force sensitives
Semifinal B: Armitage Hux (Arkanis) Vs. Daesha Sivron (Black Spire Outskirts)
The Twi'lek was a well-to-do merchant, wealthy enough to afford a lightsaber, and enthusiast enough to actually put effort into her training, training provided by expensive instructors.
To the contrary Armitage was... actually he was richer, better educated and better connected than Daesha, but had spent the last few months climbing mountains, hiding in the woods and doing the dishes in a landspeeder factory.
Only now it dawned to Armitage that he’d have to do a lot of re-adjusting to re-integrate into polite society. At the moment, though, something else was more important and so the esteemed officer fought not like a knight, but as dirty as a back alley thug (the way he preferred to win his battles anyway).
Armitage: "Understand that I couldn't lose this match."
Armitage: "Rose won hers before me, so if I won mine, too, we'd be together in the finale! What we now are."
Rose: *squees*
Finn: "Say, do you feel like we're missing out, because OUR dates never are about electroshocks and bloodshed?"
Poe: "I'll start to worry when they start building another Death Star together."

Black Spire Lightsaber Tournament, Day 2:
Elphaba Ren Vs. Rey Palpatine
Elphaba: "So you're the girl Kylo threw everything away for. You better be worth it."
Rey: "Really, El? I'm Emperor Palpatine's granddaughter, trained by Luke Lars, and going at you with Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber. I'm the most powerful force user in the galaxy. Yet in the face of all of this all you want to talk about is guys?"
Elphaba: "That's all you are to him. An object of desire. It doesn't matter what your feelings in this regard are."
Rey: "Pfft. You still don't know Ben, after all this time. I'm an object to him, that much is true. The princess he swore allegiance to, so that in serving me he can bring out the best in him and feel great about himself. It's only ever about him."
Ben: "Well, I wouldn't mind... If you were so inclined... to be a little less than your knight occasionally..."

The match's pace then changed. The "Star Destroyer" stopped merely defending against the "X-Wing" and fought back at his full skill level.
A couple of times the audience gasped, when Armitage was close to disarming Rose, but she pushed through and eventually delivered the "killing" blow.
But then...
...the moment the red lightsaber left Armitage's hand, thus fulfilling the victory condition, the yellow one de-ignited. Unfortunately that, too, fulfilled the victory condition.
A weapons malfunction. In the moment of triumph.
"A draw", the announcer whispered into their microphone, then repeated it louder: "The match has ended in a draw! Winners of the first lighsaber tournament, category non force sensitives, are Rose Tico and Armitage Hux!
But from what we've seen in town, these two won't mind sharing their new landspeeder, haha! Be sure to tell us where you’re going to drive for your victory date, you two!"
Armitage: "I heard a brizzle before the saber went out... You short-circuited it with your shock pad!"
Rose: "But no one else noticed or needs to know. The cute couple won the tournament together. That's the story Black Spire will remember. The kind of story the world needs."
Rose: "Now listen! You were right, there will be people who will hold your half of our shared victory against you, and who will never accept you back into society. But I promise to protect you. I will be the shield from behind which you fire. I'll be the blade that cuts down our enemies, while you build our home. And we will be happy."

Note: A glitch at the perfect moment. Normally the winning sim towers over the loser with a fully extended lightsaber.

Black Spire Lightsaber tournament, Day 2: Non force sensitives
In the finale: Rose Tico Vs. Armitage Hux
Poe: "That's like watching an X-Wing going up against a Star Destroyer. The X- Wing can dodge pretty much every shot, but if it gets hit just once, that was it."
Rose: "Nice block - but just you wait, I'll get you!"
Armitage: "Just a couple more exchanges. I can't give you the victory so easily."
Rose: "What do you mean? You never "gave" me a win in training! I'm actually a little bit better than you at this.”
Armitage: "Numerically it’s 3:2 in your favour. But not today. What do you think will it look like, if a red saber wielder wins? After everything Kylo Ren did to Black Spire? This is storybook good against evil. We gotta give them a show at the end of which good will win."
Rose: "I know Ben's "Look, the great and mightly Skywalker heir is on your side again" is enervating, but you overcompensating that by being overly humble doesn't make you superior to Ben. It just makes you an idiot!"
Armitage: "I’m not!”
Rose: "Kitchen scullion!” *smiles*
Armitage (returning the smile): “Rebel scum!”

The next day the newly certified city watch of Black Spire was already equipped with the new armour.
Most of these former stormtroopers were still subjects of the First Order and had to regularly renew their permits of residence. None of them had actively aided Batuu during the liberation war, so despite their newly found conviction that any kind of order first and foremost had to benefit the people, they weren’t fully trusted.
Only a rare few like Tina and Jarik had officially gotten accepted as citizens of Batuu (and by extension of the Republic Remnant).
The unit was only one third of its original strength anymore, but Lt. Chen reassured everyone that this was sufficient to keep order in a city this size.
Rey had additionally gifted the TIE-echelon to the unit, so that they were operable in orbit in case of smuggling or criminals trying to leave the planet.
Tina: "Lieutenant Chen of the Batuu law enforcement at your service, Lady Palpatine and Mr. Hux!"
Armitage: "What's with the "Mister", Ma'm? Do you think the Resistance started me at recruit rank? - It's Commander now, same as Rose and Finn, they bumped Poe up to Vice-Admiral and we talked Resistance Command's ears off to confirm BB-8 as Captain."
Tina: "They must already love you just as much as your former fellow officers did..."
Rey: "Alright, Commander, give me some numbers! With both Ben and you having jumped ship, I figure that constitutes quite a stat swing. Is a military victory over the First Order possible NOW?"
Armitage: "In theory, yes. In practise Resistance Command probably won't greenlight most of what I'd have to construct and employ to this end."
Behind the scenes:
The easiest thing to do here would have been to default replace the First Order uniforms and stormtrooper uniforms with the new ones. However, the FO is still part of the setting at large, just not in Black Spire anymore, so I couldn't go that route.
As a compromise I put the new uniforms into my sims' reserve outfit slots and paste them onto the townies whenever I need to. It's a bit fiddly, but works.
There's nothing I can do about the flags, unfortunately. I can edit the cargo hall, but not the larger archs in the neighborhood.

Next the governor inspected the body armour he had ordered for the new city watch. Finn had picked the best that was available at the market, and drafted Rose and Armitage to give a demonstration of the ease of use even by non-trained wearers.
Markus: "Lt. Chen has already changed into the new suit, I see?"
Rey: "Well, we informed her a week in advance. She in turn rallied everyone loyal to Batuu or the Resistance or even to my person.
See, I can only speak for the First Order as a whole. If individual members refuse to leave Batuu, some coercion might be required. And who better to do that than Tina's cops?"
Officer Zechs: "All this effort, just to steal one pathetic backwater planet from us... I still say the First Order is stronger than the Republic Remnant!”
Jarik knew that it was pointless to enter a discussion with someone who had chosen their allegiance based on which faction they believed to be the more powerful one. Therefore all he said in reply was: “Go pack your things.”

Poe: “TOLD you I was an officer disguised as rebel. If you didn’t believe me, that’s on you.”
Officer Zechs: “And where’s a new officer coming from all of a sudden? Got speed-grown in a clone tank or what?”
Poe: “I was with General Sonderan’s relief fleet, of course, and applied for a transfer after the battle. Or did you think I walked from Coruscant to Batuu?”

And then things were pretty much back to normal:
Getting electroshocked while trying to sneak into First Order facilities...
...in disguise, of course.
Officer Zarlenga (looking at Armitage): “Rebel disguised as First Order officer, check.” (looking at Poe): “First Order officer disguised as rebel? Sorry, I’ve lost track. Just come in.”
Zarlenga was basically a cop, an officer of Lt. Chen’s persuasion: As long as everyone in Black Spire went to sleep well fed and unafraid of the next day, she didn’t care about the big picture, that she dismissively called “Meh, politics”.
Officer Zarlenga: “So what happened again?”
Poe: "Someone cut our access to your sensor tower off, while you were still able to use ours."
Armitage: “The saboteurs hope that both sides will find the alliance too much of a hassle to maintain and call it off.”
Officer Zarlenga: “I see.”
Officer Zarlenga: "It's fixed now."

Downtown Finn and Marlon shared their disappointment over yesterday’s incident in the First Order district.
Finn: "Yes, I bet actual money on the alliance breaking apart this fall, and won.
But then again there was always the other voice, that really believed a military alliance would lead to our differences slowly dissolving. That we'd build something new and lasting from everything that was good in the Republic Remnant and the First Order."
Marlon: "Wait a mom'... It's Antony calling. He's on open mic and... I never heard Lt. Chen yell like this. She's extremely pissed."
Finn: “Tell me at which point she’s tossing her badge down and comes to join us. You’ll be coming, too, right?”
Marlon: “Only if “coming” means pledging loyalty to the Resistance, but physically remaining in Black Spire. The city needs a watch of some kind and Lt. Chen still is best suited to lead it.”
