A little preview of my piece for @damianwaynezine ! It’s called “Dragonfoot,” it’s fast paced and nicely weird and I spent so long in a research hole that I now bear the knowledge that Kansas has a state amphibian (it’s the barred tiger salamander), that tetrodotoxin is one of the deadliest poisons known to man and it’s found in cute west coast newts, and that people in Texas are spelunking in old mines for a blind cave salamander no one’s seen in seventy years—
