Mildly shaking apart internally over the edizzy ideas re: JCS and S2 but. This week feels like it has been a hundred years long (not in a bad way).
Somehow we joined together to balance the seesaw just right so Ava Gardner and Jean Seberg could both go through in the Hot Vintage Lady polls (percentages rounded). Like, I’m wearing the Ava jersey and even I encouraged people to vote Jean when necessary. Honestly, I just wanted to see if it could be done. And it COULD.
Round three has begun. It is already horrific. This is the first round that’s really going to hurt because we spent the last one really getting down in the dirt and championing our ladies, or learning about actresses we’d never heard of before and getting attached to them. And now? We are reminded: memento mori. Everyone loses but one.

pairing: Baptiste x Mauga

a/n: I wrote this in like 30 minutes, do not judge me. also i have no idea what the interactions between mauga and bap are like in game yet but we can all agree there was some kind of situationship going on, right? also, if you find yourself in Baptiste's position, run girl. you're too good for him
“Don’t you know I’m no good for you?”
Baptiste looked up at Mauga who was lying next to him, both of them naked as the day they were born. He hadn’t meant for it to go this far again, but when his friend had sent him a text asking him to come to the Talon Med Bay at 1 am, what was left of his judgement had gone out the window.
The audacity wasn’t lost on him, however. Mauga was the one that had sent the message, and now he dared to tell him he wasn’t good enough for him.
“Why do you keep contacting me outside of work then?” Baptiste pointed out now.
The tank chuckled. It was the one that Baptiste could barely resist, and he had to force himself not to feel the butterflies in his stomach from it.
“I mean to say,” his companion said, “that you don’t come here expecting there to be feelings and sentiment and that bullshit, right?”
I learned to leave you, can’t afford to.
“Of course not,” Baptiste said. “I’m an adult, Mauga.”
It was a lie, though. Not that he didn’t know there weren’t feelings on Mauga’s part. But that some part of Baptiste, however small it was, really wanted to believe that eventually maybe there could. “But you nearly gave me a heart attack when you told me you got hurt on your latest mission. There are other medics in Talon, you know.”
Mauga smirked. “I know, but none of their bedside manner’s as great as yours. Neither is their, well, should I say post-op care?”
Baptiste snorted despite himself. “I’d hardly call wrapping a few bandages around your wounds an operation. You’re lucky I’d been in the Talon dorms when you texted at all.”
He wasn’t.
Tore my shirt to stop the bleeding
Another smirk, and before he knew it Mauga’s lips were on his own leaving the medic absolutely breathless. It dizzied him and made him see stars. They fit so well together and were always so soft, no matter where he placed them. How could he make him so thoroughly drunk on his scent every time? So absolutely intoxicated with his touch? It was addictive.
The medic placed his hand on Mauga’s cheek to pull him closer. He wanted to be utterly lost in him, but before it could go any further, the larger man pulled away from the kiss he himself initiated.
“What can I say? You’re my lucky charm.”
He said it so easily, like he hadn’t given Baptiste the kiss of his life. Meanwhile Baptiste fought to keep his breathing under control.
Before he could even get his bearings right after that mind-blowing kiss, he felt rather than saw the bed shift next to him and heard Mauga grunting as he put his clothes back on. The tank must have seen the look on his face because he quirked up one of his eyebrows. “What? Don’t tell me you were expecting me to stay?”
Yes. “No, of course not.”
But nothing ever stops you leaving
Mauga chuckled again. “Thought you’d gone all soft on me, Bap.”
“Never.”
Without so much as a look back, Mauga bid farewell and left the room, taking his warmth with him.
Quiet when I’m coming home, and I’m on my own.
It could’ve been 15 minutes that Baptiste stared at that door. He didn’t know. He hadn’t expected that last kiss. The two of them hardly kissed after. There was never any cuddling, either. A part of him hoped that maybe this was the time he would come back, that he would rush through the door, sweep him off his feet and—
“Jesus, I’m acting like a child,” he muttered to himself. “Really Baptiste? One kiss is all it takes to send you spiraling?”
Yes. Yes, it was.
No, it was better that the arrangement stayed the way it was. For the both of them. The world was a dangerous place, and they couldn’t afford to be distracted. Out there on the field when there were enemies everywhere, even one moment of hesitation could be life and death.
It was better like this. Definitely.

if you look at the other engines, they do the 'elbowing/bap' motion to disconnect the person behind them. It isn't just a GB thing.
Have a closer look! I only have 3 recordings to clip them out of but it is just the disconnect / decouple motion. Which does not equal hitting, hurting, beating, etc. If you have any other disconnect / decoupling examples feel free to add them.

The sound was magnificent. The ball, no bigger than a medium-sized pinecone, rattled it's way around the den; it's growl intensifying as it moved from the wood to the covered floor (rug) back to the wood. Her usually crystal-blue eyes were black with excitement, and she gleefully chased it around, scrambling underneath pieces of two-leg structures. At one point the ball had gotten stuck underneath one of the large platforms against the wall, and she had to wiggle her paw around underneath it to fish out her treasure. Prancing after it once more, she jumped from above like a fox onto her prey, scooping it up and rolling onto her back to gnaw at the edges. The material was cold against her fangs, but she didn't care. The texture was divine.
The ball rolled from her claws, and she was off once more. This time she skittered over loose leaves (old pages) that smelled like the objects on the edges of the den, the leaves making a delicious crackling noise underneath her paw pads. What a glorious day. Adventure, an adventure buddy, a new place to explore, things that made amazing loud noises, and a new play toy that was way better than any old moss ball. She bapped after her treasure as it rolled underneath some of the loose leaves. She arched her back, straightened her legs, and crab walked over to it with her head curled to keep her eyes on target. Completely enthralled in her new toy, she didn't hear the thumping of paws on wood as Wolfpaw boldly made his way upstairs to her.
If she had, she would've smoothed herself out, composed herself once more under her mask of serious demeanor. Instead, she was caught completely off guard when the fluffy black tom burst into the room like he was charging into battle. The she-cat whipped around with her toy in her mouth, a hiss fizzling out around the object, sounding more like a sad trumpet from a goose than a ferocious beast. Her spine arched once again, and her claws slid out, making marks on the wood. Her blue eyes blazing like blue fire, and her fur fluffed out to make her look twice it's size. Unfortunately, born with fur that grew longer from the base of her ears at the back of her head that wrapped around towards her mouth, partnered with her holding the toy, she looked almost exactly like an angry squirrel.

RQ stream notes
So today Rusty Quill streamed! Woo! Alex J. Newall did a creative jam to create an audio drama in... 2 hours? I think? Anyway! I took notes!
The end result was an elevator pitch, synopsis for 6 episodes, and a somewhat fully-produced pilot episode.
It features three main characters (two protagonists and an antagonist) and two entire dogs, in a Noir Western setting.
Enjoy the notes! (Warning: they are long.)
Alex' ground rules
-No swearing/anything that'll get him kicked off Twitch
-Only original stories
-No TMP spoilers or he gets bapped
-6-part series with 10min of fully produced audio drama
-Genre - usually do a genre blend (between two different genres) (ex.: romoantic-horror) to allow for more elaborate concepts
Genre choice: Noir | Western
-Did some brainstorming for keywords in Aesthetics
-Quickly going through Wikipedia to research the genres and find points to fill the project guide. Determine how long we have VS what kinds of stories we have time to do
-Get a couple characters (3 to be exact)
-Elevator pitch
-Character bio detail brainstorming
-Quick summary of each episode, per season
-Cannibalism gave title idea: Eat the Rich (lmao actual cannibal Shia LaBoeuf)
-Text between brackets is to the creators' benefit rather than in the actual episode
-Pilot needs a Final Complication/hook/cliffhanger in order to get the listener's attention

Ok there no such thing as perfect in relationships, so do any of the couples have any pet peeve’s that drives them nuts. Like not putting the toilet seat down or leaving food scraps on dishes and putting them in then sink. My BF does this and it drive me nuts 😡
Hound is VERY lucky he's a sweet, hunky werewolf because Mirage cannot BELIEVE the amount of fur that gets clogged up in their shower/bath which he sometimes forgets to clean out. Also, Hound likes to shake (DO NOT SHAKE) to dry himself at times, and it sends water EVERYWHERE on the sink with even more bits of wet fur and Mirage is just gonna focus on his very handsome face and not think about bapping him on the nose with a newspaper for the mess.
Ratchet leaves coffee cup rings on pretty much every available surface that isn't related to his medical work and stacks paper cups instead of tossing them. Drift lets him know it's time to toss them out by using them to build intricate forts around his medical journals.
Megatron likes reading, but dog-ears pages, even with borrowed/pristine books. He didn't see anything wrong with it since all the books he had as a child were in bad condition anyway, a dog-ear isn't going to ruin it any further than it already is, and it's the text that matters. OP, whose parents were bibliophiles and carefully curated books, definitely shrieked internally a little and tried to get him in the habit of using actual bookmarks.
Windblade is actually pretty messy compared to Starscream---in her defense, her heavier work schedule means it's really not on her list of priorities---with papers and folders everywhere and empty take-out boxes (for days when she has no time to cook) stacked on each other when he came to live with her post-war. He got her into the habit of Marie Kondo-ing her workspace at least once a month.
