It seems the time has come (or at least there are people who think like that, so I have to try) - to show results of my new year resolution, which was to start drawing fanarts. I have a long way to go, and many things to learn yet, but maybe it will get better before the release of Andor s2.

This 'art' is literally inspired by great fic from @princessniitza "On our own two feet", and it's one of my favourite scenes (the funny ones, because I'm still not able to draw properly those emotional ones) - I hope it's not very out of context, but if you don't know this fic, I highly recommend to read it! <3 (you can find it on ao3) (maybe someone more advanced in tumblr than me can link it)

So the last part of the piece was gilding the cicada husk. Swipe to see the emerged cicada. I noticed the husk still had dirt on it from digging out of the ground, so I tried to play up the gold texture to feel like dirt. Like it is emerging from the woman. This piece, for me, is about symbiosis. I am starting another cicada piece that is playing with this visual a bit more. I am going to take some proper photographs and video of this piece.
