Music: Daniele Paris. I don't mind if a movie is offensive as long as what it makes me think and feel is more significant than what offends me. But Liliana Cavani's The Night Porter, celebrated and damned for its offensive central story, the doomed love affair of a former SS officer and the concentration camp survivor whom he loved and abused, doesn't have enough substance to its characters to make its offensiveness meaningful or even credible. Despite performances of deep conviction by Dirk Bogarde as Max and Charlotte Rampling as Lucia, we still know them by their labels: ex-Nazi and masochistic victim. We can only infer why they were drawn together in the camp and why they remain drawn together years later, when he has become a night porter in a Viennese hotel that's a hotbed of decadent characters and she has married a celebrated orchestra conductor. What causes Lucia to give up this apparently successful marriage to degrade herself with this creep? And what's with this assortment of ex-Nazis who are destroying old records and eliminating witnesses to their wartime crimes -- other than, of course, a plot device that puts the lives of Max and Lucia in jeopardy. Why is there a long sequence about the ballet dancer who used to perform shirtless for the SS and now seems to be restricted to private performances for Max, who works the lights for the performances? Is it to evoke the homoerotic element of Nazism, itself a wrongheaded and offensive trope? Nothing in The Night Porter holds up to very close scrutiny. And yet it's a hypnotically watchable film that dares you to take it seriously as it unrolls, but just left me feeling jaded and unsatisfied when it was over.

Richiedi una consulenza ai nostri professionisti Sono invalido al 67% e sono stato assente dal lavoro per malattia. Il medico ha trasmesso un primo certificato, precisando che la malattia era connessa all’invalidità e un secondo certificato di “continuazione”, senza alcuna precisazione. Rientrato al lavoro, ho ricevuto una contestazione disciplinare per essere stato fotografato fuori casa durante l’orario di reperibilità. Un certificato di “continuazione malattia”, non ha la stessa valenza del primo certificato? Il datore di lavoro, fotografandomi, ha violato la mia privacy? Pubblicità Pubblicità Innanzitutto, con riferimento alla valenza del certificato di continuazione della malattia, ai fini dell’esonero dall’obbligo di reperibilità, in assenza della specificazione che trattasi di “stato patologico sotteso o connesso alla situazione di invalidità riconosciuta”, siosserva quanto segue. Pubblicità L’Inps, con l’intento di fornire chiarimenti alle disposizioni contenute della propria Circolare 7 giugno 2016, n. 95, con la quale disciplina i controlli durante la malattia, fa due importanti precisazioni. In primo luogo, l’Inps precisa che le norme contenute nella predetta Circolare non prevedono l’esonero dal controllo, ma solo dalla reperibilità: questo significa che il controllo concordato è sempre possibile, se tuttavia il lavoratore in malattia, in occasione del controllo, non fossereperibile, non sarà sanzionabile in presenza di “cause di esenzione dalla reperibilità”. Pubblicità In secondo luogo, l’Istituto previdenziale segnala che il medico curante certificatore può applicare solo ed esclusivamente le “agevolazioni”, previste dai vigenti decreti, quali uniche situazioni che escludono dall’obbligo di rispettare le fasce di reperibilità. Le previsioni sono: Pubblicità nel decreto del ministero del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali 11 gennaio 2016, per i lavoratori subordinati dipendenti dai datori di lavoro privati:

patologie gravi che richiedono terapie salvavita; stati patologici connessi alla situazione di invalidità riconosciuta pari o superiore al 67%;

nel decreto del Presidente del Consiglio dei ministri 17 ottobre 2017, n. 206 per i dipendenti pubblici:

patologie gravi che richiedono terapie salvavita; causa di servizio riconosciuta che abbia dato luogo all’ascrivibilità della menomazione unica o plurima alle prime tre categorie della “tabella A” allegata al decreto del Presidente della Repubblica 30 dicembre 1981, n. 834, ovvero a patologie rientranti nella “tabella E” dello stesso decreto;

stati patologici connessi alla situazione di invalidità riconosciuta pari o superiore al 67%. In questa circoscritta casistica, la segnalazione da parte del curante deve essere apposta al momento della redazione del certificato e non può essere aggiunta ex post, proprio perché l’esonero è dalla reperibilità e non dal controllo. Pubblicità Il certificato di continuazione della malattia, inoltre, può risultare anche diverso dal certificato di malattia “originario”, qualora lo stato morboso permanga, ma con sintomi o caratteristiche in parte differenti rispetto a quelli della malattia che ha dato origine alla primacertificazione. Pubblicità Per tali ragioni, la mancata precisazione da parte del medico curante che trattasi di prosecuzione della malattia dovuta sempre a “stato patologico sotteso o connesso alla situazione di invalidità riconosciuta”, espone il dipendente, seppur invalido, all’esclusione dall’esonero dallareperibilità e a possibili contestazioni disciplinari da parte del datore di lavoro. Pubblicità In altre parole, sebbene il malato sia sempre il medesimo e la sua invalidità rimanga invariata, non è detto che la malattia della quale si certifica la prosecuzione sia identica, quanto ai sintomi e alle sue caratteristiche, a quella originariamente certificata dal medico; la malattiadi cui si certifica la prosecuzione, potrebbe essersi evoluta con caratteristiche indipendenti dalla sua situazione di invalidità. Pubblicità Perciò, nel caso di specie, il certificato medico di prosecuzione avrebbe necessariamente dovuto riportare la spunta in corrispondenza della voce “stato patologico sotteso o connesso alla situazione di invalidità riconosciuta”, non essendo automatica e scontata tale connessione, pur inpresenza di una “continuazione”. Pubblicità Con riguardo invece ad una possibile violazione della privacy da parte del datore di lavoro, in ragione del fatto di avere scattato delle foto al dipendente durante le fasce orarie di reperibilità, si osserva quanto segue. Fotografare una persona in luogo pubblico, ad esempio al parco o al centro commerciale, non costituisce violazione della privacy. Pubblicità Quanto al controllo del lavoratore ed alla raccolta di materiale fotografico che lo riguarda, si evidenzia che tale attività “investigativa” deve avere carattere occasionale ed essere svolta in un arco di tempo preciso e con uno scopo definito. L’investigatore privato può controllare un lavoratore per conto dell’azienda soltanto al di fuori del posto di lavoro, dopo l’orario lavorativo e in luogo pubblico, in presenza del sospetto da parte dell’azienda che il dipendente voglia commettere, stia commettendo o abbia compiuto un reato. Viceversa, l’attività investigativa e di controllo sul dipendente non può essere svolta per verificare il corretto adempimento dell’attività lavorativa, ossia in che modo il lavoratore svolge il proprio lavoro. Pubblicità Pertanto, nel caso di specie, non ritengo vi sia stata alcuna violazione della privacy o delle norme in materia di controllo del lavoratore da parte dell’azienda. Certo è che l’assenza dal proprio domicilio in costanza di malattia certificata come connessa allo stato di invalidità, non è né contestabile, né sanzionabile e le relative foto non hanno alcuna valenza probatoria. Pubblicità Diversamente, il fatto che un dipendente in malattia, rispetto alla quale non siano previste cause di esonero dalla reperibilità, si trovi fuori casa nelle fasce orarie in cui dovrebbe invece essere reperibile, costituisce condotta rilevante dal punto di vista disciplinare e il relativomateriale fotografico raccolto dal datore ben potrà esser utilizzato a dimostrazione delle violazioni addebitategli. Le Serie D sugli scudi !!!

Il Blog settimanale dedicato alle tante squadre di Serie D si apre per le solite ovvie ragioni di cavalleria con la D3 femminile, impegnata nel derby contro le amiche del TC Lainate in un match caldo non solo per questioni meteo ma anche per la classifica.

Siamo qui purtroppo a raccontare una sconfitta per 2 a 1, con la nostra numero 1 Giorgia Orsini che suo malgrado non è riuscita ad abbattere il muro costruito dall’esperta 4.2 Pirotta Paola, contro il quale la nostra giovane atleta si è scontrata non riuscendo a trovare i soliti colpi penetranti non potendo forse appoggiarsi ad un peso che non c’era nelle palle che le tornavano dal campo avversario. Un 64 64 finale che va stretto alla giovane Giorgia e che deve servire come buon bagaglio di esperienza.

Meno attesa forse la sconfitta di Arianna Refraschini contro la pur brava 4.5 Di Tuoro Veronica che ha forse anche qui fatto valere la sua maggiore esperienza contro una giocatrice che dal punto di vista tecnico non dovrebbe avere problemi. 64 61 è il risultato di un classico match che forse, giocato altre 1000 volte in allenamento senza la tensione del girone, finirebbe in altro modo. Anche qui, comunque, un augurio di esperienza messa in cascina !

Sul 2 a 0 da segnalare il punto importante per la classifica del Girone ottenuto dalla coppia di due delle nostre ladies sicuramente più eleganti, capitan Lucia e Laura Cozzi, capaci di sconfiggere con un duplice 64 la coppia De Marco/Cozzi, riuscendo a portare a casa i punti di maggior peso del match che nel tennis sono decisivi.

Un girone 16 che ci vede saldamente a metà classifica con la possibilità di chiudere alla grande nell’incontro casalingo di Domenica 26 Giugno contro Bresso per cercare di aggiungere un altro tassello ad una stagione già molto positiva. BRAVE RAGAZZE !!!

Quanta invidia per il nostro medico sociale !!!

Passando agli uomini, la D3 A dei nostri giovani Stefanos & C. continua nella sua marcia a suon di 4 a 0 grazie alla vittoria in quel di Magnago contro giocatori sulla carta meno competitivi dei nostri ma quante volte abbiamo detto che le partite vanno vinte in campo.

Andando con ordine, il primo Stefano (Pettenon) ha sconfitto con un duplice 64 il 4.5 Gabasio, il secondo (Mazzetto) si è imposto 61 60 al malcapitato 4.2 Indiani e il terzo (Biondi) ha regolato 60 61 il 4.4 Lualdi.

Toccava poi al doppio Mazzetto/Fiorellino faticare solo nel primo parziale, vinto 76, per poi imporsi 61 a Indiani/Berlanda per firmare l’ennesimo 4 a 0.

Non abbassate la guardia ora ragazzi dal momento che ci giocheremo il primo posto, Domenica 26 contro la buona squadra del TC Abbiategrasso con cui dividiamo la vetta del Girone 23 con, però, un match vinto in più. Quest’ultimo aspetto non deve in alcun modo far calare la Vostra attenzione, mi raccomando !

Rimaniamo in D3, con la squadra B impegnata in casa in contemporanea alla B1 contro il TC Inzago. Mattia racconta di urla e gemiti che provenivano dai campi coperti, a testimonianza di match tiratissimi a partire dal nostro numero uno Soria che, salito 4 a 1 nel primo, doveva subire il ritorno di un buon giocatore come il 4.2 Vurro che trovava le misure del campo e riusciva ad infilare 5 games di fila. Combattutissimo (e nervosissimo …) il secondo set con il nostro purtroppo sconfitto al tie-break per 7 punti a 5.

Ci pensavano quindi i nostri esperti (non chiamateli vecchi !!!) giocatori provenienti dallo zoccolo duro del CTP, a partire da capitan Mellace che potendo contare su un campo dove è diventato giocatore e dove ha appena vinto un rodeo, si è imposto in assoluto controllo per 63 64 al 4.2 Ferrari.

Pochi rischi anche per Chicco Cassani che riusciva a domare l’ardore giovanile del 4.5 Azzini che tirava fortissimo ma che peccava in alcuni casi di regolarità, imponendosi con un doppio 64.

Doppio decisivo quindi, affidato ancora all’esperienza dell’altro navigatore di squadra, Tom Morosi che ha condotto il giovane e bravo Marco Terrenghi ad una vittoria per 76 76 frutto di qualche killer point sfortunato ma comunque portata a casa con grinta … quando il gioco si fa duro !

3 a 1 per noi alla fine e ci giochiamo anche qui la qualificazione all’ultima giornata contro il forte TC Milago, al momento in testa al Girone 22 e contro cui i nostri sono chiamati ad una prova di carattere che sicuramente non manca. Come ogni anno arriviamo all’ultima giornata eh ragazzi … FORZA !!!

Chiudiamo con la D4 maschile di cui si racconta di un Morandini in grande spolvero e vincitore 62 61 in singolo contro il 4.4 Rover e in doppio con Giovanni Giglio addirittura per 63 36 10-7 contro Massara/Rover.

Un doppio decisivo viste le due sconfitte patite nei singoli da Francesco Romeo che ha lottato come un leone per poi perdere 63 26 64 contro il buon NC Bianchi e da Ghirardello Gianluca per mano di Massara (classifica 4.4).

Alla fine un ottimo 2 a 2 viste le assenze contemporanee di Raisi e Carmagnola, a portare a casa un punto comunque importante … BRAVI GLADIATORI !!!

Ora si chiude Domenica 26 in casa contro il TC Seregno, a chiudere un ottimo girone 13 che ci vede dietro solo alle due squadre che ci hanno sconfitto quest’anno, appunto Fontanile e San Giuseppe.

ALL OVER - ACTS OF LOVE: interview with director Marcus Azzini

“In All Over – Acts of Love I simply want to tell a beautiful love story.”

It’s as if the activist has awoken in theatre director Marcus Azzini (47), as we discover on the roof terrace of the International Theatre Amsterdam (ITA). Azzini made the performance Small Town Boy, based on the eponymous gay anthem (Smalltown Boy) by Bronski Beat, together with ITA especially for the Amsterdam Pride this summer. Like the famous Eighties song, the piece is about a gay boy escaping the countryside to seek happiness in the big city. ‘It’s my first performance specifically made for the LGBTI community’, Azzini confides.

‘It’s important that we keep telling these stories’, so the Brazilian-Dutch artistic director of Toneelgroep Oostpool tells us. ‘Until we’re no longer regarded as minorities. That term alone: “minorities”. We’re clearly in search of a new vocabulary for the discussions that are playing out now. Why should it be “extraordinary” that I, a homosexual man, have a 12-year-old son? Indeed, I advocate that no one should need to “come out of the closet”. Because it implies that some shame must be overcome before the real life can begin.’

After Small Town Boy, the rehearsals for All Over – Acts of Love, a unique collaboration between Arnhem based Toneelgroep Oostpool and contemporary dance platform ICK Amsterdam got underway. This performance is about two people who fall for each other – and who happen to be men. ‘In other words, another pink theme. I’m not intent on jumping onto the barricades, but after talks with choreographers Emio Greco and Pieter C. Scholten and writer Hannah van Wieringen I realized that this has to become a positive piece that, for once, does not problematize gay love. It wears me out to be regarded as “different”, just for sharing a bed with men. In All Over – Acts of Love I simply want to tell a beautiful love story.

What distinguishes this romance from other love stories?

‘Superficially these are just two men in their early thirties who live in a metropolis. Soon, however, it becomes clear that they’re living in our time in which climate change is constantly breathing down our spines. How do you live with that? How does it affect them? In other words: love in a time of climate change.’

What does the title All Over – Acts of Love stand for?

‘The first bit means to say: what if it’s all over and the world is really done for? But then it also means something like being all over each other. Acts of Love refers to love as a string of actions. Love is something you do, maybe even more than something you feel. That may also touch upon the psychology of a couple who have been together for long. What does it do to you to spend a whole life with one person; what does it do to your body to lie in bed beside the same person for fifty years? It’s something we can hardly imagine anymore. I’ve been with my man for nine years now --and I find even that something special.’

 Will you be staying together for the rest of your lives?

‘The wish is there, at least. Matthijs (van Bergen, fashion designer – ed.) spent nine months in London last year. I found out then, that I sleep and recharge better if he’s in bed beside me. So, he’s a sort of power pack; my love charger. Isn’t it strange that my body needs his body that much? Not just for romantic reasons, but truly for the physical aspect of love.’

 Are you someone who’s always in relationships?

‘As it happens, I’ve had several long-lasting relationships. The first one eleven years; then single for five years; now nine years at a stretch. Since I regard love as something you can do or make, it also becomes possible to create love in the theatre. If I play that I love you and you experience that as love even though you know I’m acting, then that’s love. You must keep seeing it as a play. If you are so merged together after all those years, then it’s nice to keep surprising each other and to ask yourself again and again: who do I want to be now? That merging and playing at love are the focus of this performance.’

 How did you get involved in this project?

‘ICK approached me. I made the performance LIstEn & See (LIES) together with Ann van den Broek, in which we also brought together actors and dancers. I generally focus on the physical aspect of acting and I want to connect the brain and the body. So, I do understand why ICK came to me – and I immediately wanted to accept the challenge. That’s what set the ball rolling

I called in Theun Mosk, a scenographer I enjoy working with, and Hannah van Wieringen, who is writing the text. She always comes up with strong dialogues that are very up to date. She knows how to capture beautifully how real people talk, while rendering it just a bit more poetic.’

 How did you put together the cast?

‘The piece follows the four seasons, performed by Ludwig Bindervoet and Kendrick Etmon. I chose them because they’re both powerful and inspiring actors who are fully engaged with the world and keep an open mind. There’s also a good chemistry between them. They’re two fiery men who project love, vulnerability and sex, even. The cast of dancers consists of Beatrice Cardone, Denis Bruno, Arad Inbar, Edward Lloyd, Isaiah Wilsson and Siva Canbazoglu, and others.’

Wouldn’t a cross-over of the two disciplines be more exciting?

‘Dance and drama are not separate for nothing, since you need to be so damn good in either discipline. So, there’s little point in drawing them out of their comfort zones. There are actors who can move well, but they will never dance at the level of ICK. And a dancer who has to speak becomes less of a dancer because he cannot focus on his specific talent. Therefore, I don’t use the term cross-over, but see it as a meeting. I want to look at what happens when actors and dancers practise their own disciplines alongside and betwixt each other. I had this wild idea, initially, to keep the actors out of sight altogether and just let them be heard, rather like an audio play. But it’s much more exciting after all to see the bodies of the actors move in between the dancers.’

 So, what role does dance play in this performance?

‘I had long discussions with Emio and Pieter about the choreography. I asked them if I could use their entire body of work to create a new dance language. Like directors often use a play by Shakespeare to do with it what they want. Well, they were a little hesitant at first, because a choreography is a work of art that has been perfected to the finest detail. Once you begin to toss around with it, it doesn’t do well. When we talked about it some more, they came up with the idea of creating a choreography together with the dancers especially for me, like a gift tied in a bow. It’s up to me to decide if I use the whole choreography or just a little piece of it. It’s still a dialogue, of course. Everything comes together in the rehearsals and then I see what works best.’

 Do Pieter and Emio still have an influence on the performance, or do you keep them out?

Laughing: ‘I try to ban them as much as possible. No, not that, but they won’t meddle with it much. I do have a rehearsal director overseeing the technique of the dance movements, so that each toe is placed the way it should. It will take all parties some getting used to, but Emio, Pieter and I have fortunately known each other for years, so there’s full trust between us. And we’ve put together such a good team, so it feels like a creative playground.’

 Is this cross-over – sorry: meeting – of dance and drama a new trend?

‘I don’t know. Some people are wary of cross-overs, because they think that it dilutes the arts disciplines. The performing arts are continuing to innovate, but it can be confusing to the audience sometimes. That is why I tell everyone explicitly that All Over – Acts of Love is a dance performance, so as to keep things clear.’

I don't have Pinterest anymore, and I'm not going to put a family photo on Tumblr, so you can deal with my words, instead. Sorry. 🙃

My niece is around Winnie's age - she's also Obsessed with cats, to the point where, when we video chat with her, my husband and I play second fiddle to our two kitties (much to their chagrin 😹) - and I get frequent photos of her adventures. The most recent photo of her Very Important Day was a picnic in the garden, with her favourite toys and a mini tea set, that gave me solid Winnie vibes. A brightly coloured picnic blanket, a cute little yellow sundress, chunky toddler legs and soft, golden brown hair that she loves to wear in pigtails. A punnet of raspberries, a bag of corn chips, and a couple of discarded waffles. My old doll's pram that is - somehow, surprisingly - still going strong, and an (empty, thankfully) adult-sized blue willow mug that she'd knocked over in her attempt to 'pour tea' for someone else. My heart. 🥰

The Vault doesn’t contain Winnie and playing tea party because that’s Chapter 3 but what The Vault does have is Azriel taking a nap and Winnie essentially being that infamous vine: “I wanna take a nap right here.” I’m glad it’s getting the opportunity to shine because it’s one of my favorite pieces that won’t be in the story:

"What's the matter?" He asks softly, voice hoarse and patched together in broken syllables. His hand retreats from its outstretched reach towards the bedside as he relaxes against his elbows, heart steadily returning to its normal depressed rate.

"I wanna takke nap!" The girl demands, climbing onto the bed, grasping at the duvets.

Azriel relaxes against the mattress, his pillow finding his head in its embrace once more. "You want to take a nap?"

"Yeah!" Her voice cracks, eyebrows furiously diving together, small mouth set. "I wanna takke nap right here."

"Okay," he raises a corner of the duvet, allowing her to burrow into him under the blanket and curl there before his chest. She immediately closes her eyes with an energy not suited for one supposedly tired, but oh who is he to judge napping to escape the trials of life?

Winnie puts her head on the pillow before his own face, breathing hard through her nose. Placing an arm over her and encasing her in the folds of comfort, Azriel quietly looks at her for a second before breaking the silence.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes!" She replies immediately, voice high pitched. "I just wanna takke nap!"

Lips curving slightly, he closes his eyes. "Okay. But just know that you can tell me anything, okay?"

"Otay!"

Hot breathing sharp on his face, any drowsiness Azriel was blessed with escaped the second she slammed the door open. He tries to catch it again, but with her breathing so hard, determined to hold whatever it is inside, he can't hear himself think, much less sleep.

Faintly opening his eyes, he catches her quickly scrunching her eyes shut once more, clearly having been peaking before.

"I nap when I'm tired," he shares quietly. "Are you tired?"

"Yes!"

"Hmm," his eyes trace her features, watching the fair hair in her face flutter with every hard breath. "I also nap when I'm sad. Are you sad?"

"..No!"

"Will you tell me if you're sad?"

He watches her facial expression change; mouth puckering, eyes scrunching, brows dancing. He smiles fondly. "Yes."

"Good," he breathes and closes his eyes, once more trying to sleep.

"Why are you sad?"

"I'm just tired."

"Otay. I'm tired too."

"Okay."

"You wanna takke nap here?"

"Yes, Winnie."

"I wanna takke nap here, too."

"To nap, Bunny, you have to be quiet."

"Weally?"

"Mhm."

"...The cars are takke nap?"

"No, they're not."

"Why?"

"They're not quiet."

"Oh... I'm takke nap?"

He pulls her closer, smuggling her into silence in his chest. "Go to sleep, Bunny."

"I don't wanna sleep. I wanna takke nap here."

"Okay."

"Otay."”

“After putting the plushies to bed, it's dolls next and a tea party where the more intelligent sophisticated conversation takes place regarding the word 'blue' and the walls, and the sky, and 'woof woof', and 'pretty' and somehow Azriel ends up debating the Oxford dictionary versus the Cambridge one with a two-year-old. Paraphrasing.

Hours pass by in such manner, enjoying civil conversation with the chatty girl that Azriel mentally runs to catch up with her train of thoughts, and being taught the etiquette of tea parties and drinking tea: the pinky has to be out. Always. If the pinky is not, then it is not a tea party but rather some barbarian gathering of gorillas coming together to slurp hot drinks and bang their chests.

But there's something about this girl's round cheeks and small lips that widen in a grin easily, something enrapturing about the bright hue of her wide hazel eyes that shines vibrantly between blue and green and grey- something about the complete trust and ease with which she interacts with her safe environment that it seeps into Azriel himself, makes his lips tug up into a carefree smile of a personal cheer.”
