His Dark Materials ep1

It was solid. James was great as always, the daemon's are cool and stuff. But the acting of the kids is a bit wooden. They drew out their sentences sometimes and it didn't flow naturally, I was a huge fan of the movie as a kid but remembering it now I wonder why this adaptation always falls short on natural and good dialogue. It all sounds like kids reciting lines (which they are) but you're not supposed to notice it. The adults, I repeat, were mostly good but I hope all of it gets a bit better with time. Also for 54minutes not much happened? It was basically like a very long intro and I understand the story needs to stretch over 8 episodes but I might've enjoyed this episode a lot more if the whole season was released at once. This didn't really feel fulfilling for a once-per-week viewing. Anyway, still really excited to fall back into this world again and it has potential to be awesome indeed.

Excuse me but i did NOT find Azriel this attractive in the first adaptation, it's honestly a bit much because I kept staring at him and gah I love James McAvoy, the thirst is real.
