I lineamenti del suo viso rispecchiavano quelli di sua madre, come una miniatura perfettamente intagliata; l'incarnato, sebbene troppo chiaro per i canoni di Casa Cereo, era di una sfumatura d'avorio più che accettabile. Ed i capelli, che crescevano in una piacevole profusione di ricci, eran più scuri della notte stessa: in alcune Case, questa era vista come una caratteristica affascinante. Gli arti erano dritti & flessuosi, le ossa — una meraviglia di delicato vigore. I suoi occhi, una volta raggiunta la tonalità definitiva, erano della sfumatura che i pittori ed i poeti usan appellare come “acqua marina”: una tinta intensa, profonda & luminosa, simile a quella di uno stagno nel cuore di una foresta, ombreggiato da antiche querce. Turchese, quindi; intenso, liquido & brillante, ma con un'imperfezione. Turchese, eccetto che nell'occhio destro, nella cui iride brillava una macchia di colore differente: rosso, per quanto dire “rosso” non sia sufficiente a descriverne la brillantezza. Meglio definirlo scarlatto, o cremisi, più rosso dei bargigli di un galletto o della mela glassata in bocca ad un maialino arrosto. ‧ ( © ) ━ text ;

ILLEGIBLE’S TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE FAVORITE EORZEA COLLECTION DESIGNS: TANKS
NOTE: This was originally going to be a collection where everything was in one post, but it legitimately got so big that the post couldn’t save. And doing by halvesies broke all the links. So instead, I’m going to try and separate it into smaller chunks and see if that works.
I’ve mentioned in the past, the main thing that made me start playing FFXIV properly was seeing people’s character designs. I’m still blown away by the creativity and range of approaches people bring to this game, so I’ve decided to be an absolute madwoman and break my favorites into subcategories to share with anyone curious.
And to be clear. I’m not going to do something so broad as “oh top ten in-general :3″ because that would be sensible. No, I’m going to do it for all the current combat jobs. And all the current races. And different genders within the races and combat jobs as things stand. And I’m going to make a face-focus subcategory. And there are gonna be LOTS. Because I seriously cannot understate how inspired I’ve been by this community, and after however many years I just feel the need to vomit some incredible visuals I’ve encountered at you guys lol.
ANOTHER NOTE: In an abundance of caution, I want to stress this list isn’t a value judgment on anyone but a fragment of things that blew me personally away. Looking at the DRK sections it will be immediately clear that I Illegible really like that edgy dark knight aesthetic lmao, but there are plenty of non-edgy dark knights that I also love to bits. Other people might not like edgy dark knights. Due to a combination of size and search constraints plus trying to keep gear somewhat varied, these glamours are just what wound up on this particular list of mine. I could make another list one day. Other people can make lists too that are totally different.
Without further ado, let us begin.

some elaboration on toreador mary au:
it's velvet's haven she ends up fleeing to instead of nines'. ends up helping out at Vesuvius, draws the attention of a new toreador visitor somewhat on the edge, and she ends up an embrace of passion. velvet is incredibly upset about it, mary's upset about the whole being dead thing too, but ends up still joining the anarchs and being part of the Hollywood toreador power clique. mary renames herself, to kill any sad feelings about her past, and is known by people not in her inner circle as aurora.
she's a champ at celerity, and while she doesn't quite possess the natural toreador charisma she is exceptionally good at picking up on people's emotions. once she figures out presence she's kinda scary tbh
as far as relationships go; she and velvet have like, a frodo/sam levels of devotion relationship (where it's honestly hard to tell if it's platonic or not, and being kindred who cares to put a label on it), she and ash are angsty fledgling pals (add a dose of sexual tension to that, classic toreador), Isaac scares the shit out of her, and the last round anarchs she shares a cautious respect for. nines is a more aloof symbolic figure to her, though she picks up on his fraying nerves. the weirdness with the lacroix situation is only amped up when she doesn't look like a lil gremlin. she and the nossies clash much harder in the beginning but a begrudging respect is shared once she axes lacroix

Some of the world’s rarest gemstones
Tumblr media
DIDIER DESCOUENS VIA WIKIMEDIA // CC BY 3.0
There are roughly 200 varieties of natural gemstone known in the world today. Alongside the world’s precious gems (diamond, ruby, sapphire, and emerald) are numerous semi-precious stones, some of which are so incredibly rare that their value outstrips many of the world’s most valuable precious gems.
TANZANITE // FOUND ONLY IN TANZANIA
Tumblr media
GeologMax via Wikimedia // CC BY-SA 4.0
Tanzanite is a beautiful blue variety of the mineral zoisite, and is so named because it is only found in a small area near the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The stone was not discovered in commercial quantities until the 1960s and since then its popularity has grown tremendously, thanks largely to the efforts of Tiffany & Co. Heat-treating tanzanite at very high temperatures can improve the blue coloration, so most gems on the market have been treated in this way, but any tanzanite that has not been heat-treated and has a strong blue colour naturally will be of a much higher value.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because it is only found in one small location, the value of tanzanite looks likely to soar over time; once those mines have been emptied there will be no new stones coming onto the market—unless a new source is found.
BLACK OPAL // THE DARKER THE BETTER
Tumblr media
Daniel Mekis via Wikimedia Commons // CC BY-SA 3.0
Opals are usually a creamy-white colour and are made special by the rainbow-coloured inclusions that reflect the light as the stone is moved. Black opals are much rarer, because almost all of them are found in mines in the Lightning Ridge area of New South Wales in Australia.
Tumblr media
The darker their background colour and brighter the inclusions, the more valuable the stone. One of the most valuable black opals of all time is the “Aurora Australis,” which was uncovered in Lightning Ridge in 1938.
Tumblr media
The 180-carat opal is especially admired due to its large size and intense harlequin coloration; in 2005 it was valued at AUS $1,000,000, or about $763,000 U.S.
LARIMAR // ONLY FOUND IN THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Tumblr media
Wikimedia Commons // Public domain
Larimar is a very rare blue variety of the mineral pectolite and is found in only one small area of the Dominican Republic. This turquoise stone’s name was created by the man who brought the stone to prominence in 1974, Miguel Méndez—he took the first part of his daughter’s name, Larissa, and combined it with the Spanish word for sea, mar, to create the portmanteau larimar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Locals had known of the existence of the stone for generations, because small examples had washed up on the seashore, but it was not until the 1970s that sufficient quantities were found in the ground to open a mine.
PARAIBA TOURMALINE // NEON LUSTER
Tumblr media
DonGuennie (G-Empire The World Of Gems) via Wikimedia Commons //
CC
 BY-SA 4.0
Tourmalines are common in many colours across Brazil, but the Paraiba tourmalines are the only stones with a bright turquoise hue, thanks to their copper content. The very rare gems were discovered in 1987 by determined miner Heitor Dimas Barbosa, who had been driven by a belief that something special lurked under the hills of the Brazilian state of Paraiba. Barbosa was right, and after years of fruitless digging, he finally unearthed a tourmaline of unrivaled neon blue that set the gem market alight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The extremely rare stone (only one stone is mined for every 10,000 diamonds) then became intensely sought-after. In 2003 very similar turquoise-coloured tourmalines were found at mines in the mountains of Nigeria and Mozambique, although some say they are not quite as striking as the Paraiba tourmaline.
GRANDIDERITE // ONE EXCEPTIONAL EXAMPLE
Tumblr media
DonGuennie (G-Empire The World Of Gems) via Wikimedia Commons // CC BY-SA 3.0
Grandiderite was first described in 1902 by French mineralogist Alfred Lacroix, who found it in Madagascar and named it in honour of the French explorer Alfred Grandidier, an expert on Madagascan natural history. This extremely rare blue-green mineral has been found in a number of places around the world, but so far only Madagascar and Sri Lanka have produced any gem-quality stones, and these are still extremely scant.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The majority of the known stones are translucent, but the most rare, and therefore most valuable, example ever found was transparent. In fact, the stone was initially assumed to be another rare gem, serendibite, because grandiderite of that colour and transparency had yet to be seen. The gem was only identified as grandiderite after expert analysis and was subsequently sold for an undisclosed sum. It’s safe to assume that if a gem of similar quality were to be unearthed, its scarcity alone would ensure it fetched an extremely high price.
ALEXANDRITE // COLOR-SHIFTING GEM
Tumblr media
Wikimedia // CC BY-SA 3.0
The amazing colour-changing stone alexandrite was discovered in 1830 in the Ural Mountains in Russia and named after Russian tsar Alexander II. A variety of chrysoberyl, the stone’s remarkable colour-shifting capability makes it especially sought-after: In sunlight the stone looks blue-green, but under incandescent light it becomes red-purple. The degree of colour change varies from stone to stone, with some only showing marginal change, but the most valuable are clear stones that demonstrate complete colour change.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although some large examples of the stone have been found (the Smithsonian houses the world’s largest known cut sample of alexandrite at 65.08 carats), the majority are under one carat. This means that the value of a gem under a carat may only be $15,000, but a stone larger than one carat might fetch as much as $70,000 per carat.
BENITOITE // STATE GEM OF CALIFORNIA
Tumblr media
Pablo Alberto Salguero Quiles via Wikimedia //
CC
 BY-SA 3.0
Benitoite is only mined in one small area of California, near the San Benito River (hence the name), but the mine closed for commercial mining in 2006, making this gemstone yet more scarce. The gem was first identified around 1907 by geologist George Louderback and has a deep-blue colour that shows especially interesting qualities when caught under UV light, when it glows fluorescent.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The gem was named the official state gemstone of California in 1985 in recognition of the fact that, despite it being found in trace quantities in Arkansas as well as Japan and Australia, California is the only place where it can feasibly be mined. Due to the rarity of discovering a good quality benitoite of a reasonable size, it can fetch huge prices on the open market—a well-cut benitoite stone at over 2 carats can fetch more than $10,000 a carat.
PAINITE // ONCE THE WORLD’S RAREST GEM
Tumblr media
Rob Lavinsky via Wikimedia // CC BY-SA 3.0
Painite was first discovered by British gemologist Arthur Charles Davy Pain in 1951 and recognised as a new mineral in 1957. For many years only one specimen of the dark red crystal was in existence, housed at the British Museum in London, making it the world’s rarest gemstone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Later on other specimens were discovered, although by 2004 there were still fewer than two dozen known painite gems. However, in recent years a couple of mines in Myanmar have begun to produce some painite, and there are now said to be over 1000 stones known. The scarcity of this gem has made it extremely valuable and just one carat can fetch more than $60,000.
RED BERYL // TINY AND SCARCE
Tumblr media
Didier Descouens via Wikimedia Commons // CC BY-SA 3.0
Red beryl, also known as bixbite or red emerald, is so rare it is estimated by the Utah Geological Survey that a single such gem is uncovered for every 150,000 gem-quality diamonds. Pure beryl is colourless and only gains its bright hues from impurities in the rock: chromium and vanadium give beryl a green colour resulting in an emerald; iron provides a blue or yellow tint creating aquamarine and golden beryl; and manganese adds the deep-red colour to create red beryl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Red beryl is only found in Utah, New Mexico, and Mexico, and the majority of examples found are just a few millimetres in length, too small to be cut and faceted for use. Those that have been cut are generally less than a carat in weight, and a red beryl of 2 or 3 carats would be considered exceptional.
TAAFFEITE // DISCOVERED BY CHANCE
Tumblr media
DonGuennie (G-Empire The World Of Gems) via Wikimedia Commons // CC BY-SA 3.0
Austrian-Irish gemologist Count Edward Charles Richard Taaffe bought a box of cut stones from a jeweller in Dublin in the 1940s, thinking he had purchased a collection of spinels. But on closer inspection, he noted that one of the pale mauve gems was not reacting to the light in the same way as the rest of the spinels, so he sent it off to be analysed. The results revealed that he had discovered a hitherto unknown gemstone—a serendipitous but frustrating situation, since he had discovered a cut gem and had no idea where the mineral naturally occurred. Fortunately, once the new stone had been announced, many other collectors re-examined their own spinel collections and a number of other samples were uncovered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally the source of the stone was tracked down to Sri Lanka, although a handful have also been found in Tanzania and China. It is thought that less than 50 examples of taaffeite exist—many of which are housed in geological and aprivate collections, making this gemstone so rare the ordinary public are unlikely to ever encounter it.

The White characters, Ariel and Belle, appear as teenagers; their youthful appearance and personality (noted in the following discussion) bespeak a relative innocence in their demeanor both socially and romantically. (…) Although we see Ariel shot as an active character in scenes in the land of the mer-people, once she makes it to land she is far less physically active. Belle remains, for the most part, the least active of the five characters. Both Ariel and Belle are physically presented as slender and capable, but far less athletic than later characters, especially Pocahontas. (…) In sum, both characters, although strong-willed, are constructed with the classic porcelain skin tone and delicate features of earlier Disney heroines like Snow White and Princess Aurora of Sleeping Beauty and, despite a more active physical presence than their early counterparts, continue to be drawn with tiny waists, small breasts, slender wrists, legs, and arms, and still move with the fluidity and grace of the ballet model used for the older Disney animated films (Bell, 1995).
By contrast, Jasmine of Aladdin posed problems for the Disney animators. Her skin tone is appropriately darker for the Middle Eastern setting of the story. Yet, she retains many White features, such as a delicate nose and small mouth. In terms of the body, Jasmine, although still small-waisted, is “filmed” in more active sequences and appears, through both the physical presence and activity in scenes, more athletic.
The pattern of the small, delicate frame ends with Aladdin. Pocahontas generated a number of critical responses among film critics. One of the most talked about elements of this characterization was a physique that reflected a body structure comparable to that of a Barbie Doll, or supermodel, that seemed wholly inconsistent with the 12-year-old girl of historical fact (see Edgerton & Jackson, 1996; or Valdez, 1995). Again, Pocahontas is drawn with large almond shaped eyes and features that were actually modeled from an Asian American actress 10 (Wasko, 2001). But it is Pocahontas’ body that is the most compelling feature of her physical depiction. The Disney animators, Valdez (1995) reported, wanted to emphasize Pocahontas’ athleticism, and certainly the character is shot in far more active scenes than any of her three predecessors. She is seen running, moving always nimbly through the forest, and, in one scene, diving from a cliff in perfect form. In many ways, particularly when compared to Ariel and Belle, Pocahontas appears to be almost an Amazon. She is tall, has long, strong legs, and a developed bust. She retains, however, the slender waist like the others, which adds to the overall mature and voluptuous look of the character. Hair plays an important role in the iconography of Pocahontas as well. The stereotype of Native Americans’ unique relationship with nature is evident in Pocahontas’ relationship with animals, the trees, the water, and the wind—which we see blowing frequently through the character’s hair. Pocahontas, like Ariel, is frequently shot with her hair as a focal point.
Esmeralda, the darkest in skin tone of all the characters, reflects the trend toward increasing emphasis on physical maturity and sexuality. Although smaller in frame than Pocahontas, Esmeralda retains the athleticism and strength of the previous character. She is also frequently shot in active sequences that emphasize the physical rather than the delicate frame that we see particularly in Belle. Like Pocahontas, Esmeralda appears voluptuous when compared to Ariel and Belle. She, like Pocahontas, appears to be a woman, not a girl. Her eyes and hair are highlighted in the shots as in the iconography of Pocahontas. Esmeralda’s physique and activity appears to be the culmination of a pattern toward increasing physical maturation and strength in the films that seems to position the characters on a spectrum of activity and sexual/physical maturation where the White women occupy the least active and mature bodies, whereas the women of color are represented as both physically mature and athletic.
Costuming also adds to the differentiation between the White characters and the women of color. The physical body is more greatly emphasized by the costuming of the women of color. Although Ariel is costumed as a mermaid with the seashell brassiere, once she becomes a human woman, she is attired in the dress of the western romantic period of the late 1700s, with full-length dresses much the same as Belle wore in Beauty and the Beast. These costumes, taken with the delicate physical features of the characters, offer a more traditional iconography of the Disney heroine, in keeping with their fairytale predecessors noted previously, and bespeak more conservative and romantic images of the feminine heroine.
Jasmine’s costuming emphasizes the Middle Eastern influence of the setting of Aladdin and depicts Jasmine in a more sexualized light. The harem-esque look of her off-the-shoulder, cut-at-the-midriff blouse calls to mind some of the iconography associated with the orientalization of Middle Eastern women that Said (1978) and Alloula (1986) noted. Although Jasmine’s physique and physical activity work less to promote an overt eroticization of the character, the costuming accentuates the physical far more than does the costuming of the two White characters and plays into Western cultural notions of the Orient through the referencing of the imagery of the harem and the associated exotic, sexual stereotype
In Pocahontas, as well, the costuming references the character’s ethnicity, but is ultimately constructed in such a way as to privilege physical characteristics. The dubious historical accuracy of the costuming and the fashioning of Pocahontas’ dress relative to other native dress in the film lead one to believe the choices were strategic. As in Jasmine’s costume, the shoulders are almost bare, and, although the dress doesn’t reveal the midriff, the slit of the skirt shows much of the thigh, particularly in the active scenes. Unlike the rather demure dressing of the White characters, both Jasmine and Pocahontas’ dress draw attention to the physical body.
Finally, the costuming in The Hunchback of Notre Dame offers what may be the epitome of the exotic/sexual. Esmeralda, the gypsy dancer, is also attired in dresses that reflect a stereotype of her ethnic background. These costumes, like those of her two predecessors, bare her shoulders. Hers, however, also offers a plunging bust line that emphasizes the cleavage. Additionally, her dance costume is drawn with a skin-tight look that reveals the “cut” of her abdomen and her tiny waist.
Whereas the costuming of these characters reflects stereotypical images of each woman’s ethnicity, the overall effect, taken with the increasing voluptuousness of the characters, works to represent the White characters as more demure and conservative, while associating the women of color with the exotic and sexual. As Hoerrner (1996) pointed out, the early characters (read White), Ariel and Belle, are weaker, more pristine, and largely incapable of action, whereas the later heroines, all women of color, are depicted in such a way as to emphasize their bodies and physicality. The reader is encouraged, through this privileging of the body and the physical in the rendering of the physique and costuming, to look at Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Esmeralda in different and more voyeuristic manner than the White heroines. They embody the exoticized Other woman—one whose sexualized presence is privileged above all else.
The elements of physique, costuming, and iconography construct a representation of the White women as romantic, delicate, and demure, whereas the women of color are depicted as physical, ethnic, and exotic/sexual.

[SWSH EVENT] Hi, Bill and Lanette! It's Aurora Aspen from @pokehaviors. I just wanted to let you both know that you're a huge inspiration and it's so exciting to see you exploring Galar! I really hope you can look into the Pokemon there for all of us Researchers who don't have the current funds to visit the region. Anything you can tell us about Gigantamaxing? - A.A.
{Thanks to @pokehaviors for this ask!}
[BEGIN TRANSMISSION]
[Wild Area—a clearing near a tent. BILL is lying with his head in LH’s lap; LH is spraying potion on various wounds—mostly from fairy magic—across his chest and shoulders. Behind them, EVENING prances about the clearing with LACROIX and A CLEFAIRY on her back.]
BILL, through clenched teeth: How can they be so cute and painful? [points at her] Speaking of which … I read that reply from that one follower of ours. Tell them off for thinking I’m dead.
LH: Mmhmm. Anyway, about this ask?
BILL: Right. Right.
[He sits up, with effort, then looks at the camera.]
BILL: First and foremost, good to hear from you, Professor Aspen! I hope all is going well in Unova!
That said ... gigantamaxing. It’s actually a fascinating phenomenon. In terms of power and the way it works, it’s really no different from ordinary dynamaxing, from what I can tell. In both cases, a pokémon undergoes a transformation triggered by an influx of raw energy, the overflow of which feeds into their techniques to create not only—obviously enough—a giant pokémon but also a supercharged elemental technique to boot. The difference is in the way the influx of energy is expressed physically. In only a select few pokémon, this energy triggers a form change, resulting in a dramatically altered appearance in addition to a gigantic size and supercharged attacks.
I admit I don’t know for certain what causes this; Professor Magnolia, the leading expert in the dynamax and gigantamax phenomena, is rather difficult to get an audience with, especially given that one of us is currently … not in the best state for discussing pokémon theory. However, I do have a few ideas of my own. Namely, for the most part, gigantamaxing is limited to only specific individuals within each verified species. That is to say, a select few pikachu can gigantamax, not all of them. This tells me that there could be a mutation found in only a select few colonies of these specific pokémon that causes a form change upon dynamaxing, resulting in gigantamaxing instead. As for why there may be a separate form, in some cases—such as in garbodor or butterfree, whose forms resemble their base forms, only with certain key differences—it may simply be a mutation of a dynamaxed form. In others, such as those that are drastically changed upon gigantamaxing, it’s entirely possible that this was a form that all members of the species could take a long time ago but no longer possess the ability to achieve. In that sense, it’s much like mega evolution in that it’s popularly thought that all pokémon once had the capability to achieve it (that is, mega evolution) as well long ago but lost the ability somewhere along the line.
Or in short, gigantamaxing is a fascinating phenomenon, for sure, and I have every intention to study it thoroughly, once I understand how to track down a pokémon capable of it.
LH: And by that you mean track down an eevee capable of gigantamaxing?
BILL: And by that I mean track down an eevee capable of gigantamaxing, yes.

A Night Out Pt. 4
Description: Kamilah is taken out on the town to blow some steam off with an unlikely source, Priya. Kamilah didn’t care for an all mortal nightclub but Priya promised her it would be worth it, saying she would finally get laid in over a century.
Pairing: Kamilah x MC
Notes: Part 4 y’all! Thanks for all the positive support it means the world to me. Slight language here and there. As usual, PBs characters, General Audience.
...
After the bizarre events transpired, Aurora rushed home desperate to wash the last 24 hours down with a few stiff drinks. But, as her roommate Lily pointed out, she might as well face the woman, it was obvious her problems weren’t going to go away. And that’s when she discovered another problem. The vial with the extract for Adrian was in her pocket, she sighed and rushed back to work in hope she still had a job. Could things get any worse? Aurora thought as she got to the correct floor.
And the answer was yes, it could. For she was staring at Nicole getting fed on by... Adrian? Or what she guessed was Adrian, sending her into complete freak out mode startling the man/creature. He hissed and charged her, and she backed into a corner and begged for mercy. Nicole got up from the table and a wall of relief washed over Aurora as Adrian changed back into his human self. She spent the next 15 minutes being lectured by the two on the importance of knocking and vampire 101.
Nicole seemed most upset, I guess she was getting some kind of pleasure from the experience. So she was cold towards Aurora, and borderline hateful. She just had a traumatic experience and she was being scolded for it. Nicole kept on insisting on having her debriefed but Adrian had the say and defended Aurora. He even offered to even take her to see Priya Lacroix on official business, insisting he will pay overtime to help calm her down.
Aurora was too caught up with formally meeting Priya Lacroix, her fashion hero, to realize that she too, was a vampire. Maybe because it was the fact she was wearing a Lacroix original that was sent over to Adrian’s office. The thought of even Kamilah being a vampire didn’t register. Not only was she working for a vampire, but she slept with one too. The problems just keep stacking up.
The two stepped outside and began the walk to The Crimson Veil. The most famous studio since Andy Warhol’s Factory, and she was getting to see it! Adrian began answering the many questions about vampires that the mortal had. He explained how the clans worked, how many there was and how many were in each. He covered the vampire basics until they made it inside the Crimson Veil. And boy was it everything Aurora read about. The beautiful lights, the elevated catwalk, the celebrities...she was finally experiencing the part of New York that the average person didn’t. The part that made New York, well New York.
All eyes were on her as she caught the whispers as she passed through the crowd of people. She was the center of attention in Priya’s dress and she was stealing the show. So much in fact, that Adrian had to bring her back into the red room just so the show could keep going. He warned Aurora about Priya though, she was alluring and extremely dangerous. Aurora brushed it aside because the other night at the club with Kamilah....
“Wait....” Aurora whispered to herself. “Priya was with Kamilah. Priya is a vampire and Kamilah was in a meeting with Adrian, who is a vampire....oh my god!” Aurora yelled as she pieced the puzzle together, slightly trembling at the revelation.
“What’s wrong Aurora?” Adrian asked in concern.
Before Aurora could tell, a lovely, powerful voice bellowed through the room, “Adrian! My sweet darling! What brings you here!?”
Priya ran up to Adrian, who kissed both of her cheeks in greeting, “Marvelous show Priya, I love the new collection.”
“You’re a terrible liar! But please, keep complimenting me!” Priya smirked, finally spotting the person standing behind Adrian.
“Adrian! Did you bring me a snack? Mmhm, you shouldn’t have.”
“Priya, she is with me, this is Aur...”
“Aurora! Oh my god this is too good!” Priya laughed, confusing Adrian even more.
“How do you know her?” Adrian asked getting the wrong idea because Aurora was freaking out on her own thinking about how screwed up this was.
“Calm down Adrian. We met at the club last night. The last thing I recall, she and Kamilah were about to get close, awful close.” Priya cooed placing her finger under Aurora’s chin.
It was now Adrian who was trying to piece this together, “Wait...so you and Kamilah?”
“Oh for god’s sake Adrian! She is Kamilah’s play thing. She and Kamilah hooked up last night.” Priya laughed mocking Adrian.
All Aurora could do was hide her face in shame and embarrassment as it sunk in with Adrian, who by the looks of things, wasn’t taking it well.
“Oh this is fun!” Priya spat out in delight. “I can’t wait to tell Kamilah!”
...
It was around 3 am and Kamilah decided she could afford some sleep so she went and laid down to do so. It had been 5 minutes and her door rang, “Who could possibly be here now...” Kamilah sighed as she shuffled to the door.
She never dreamed it would be Priya. But here she was, face to face with the young vampire in her living room. Kamilah slid a drink over to Priya who accepted it with her trademark grin.
“Soooo, why are you here in my home.” Kamilah started out.
“You’ll never guess who I saw in my studio, wearing one of MY dresses.” Priya’s replied.
Kamilah sighed, this is why she didn’t hang out, all the gossip and late night chit chat expired for her years ago, but it was Priya’s forte.
“Who?”
“Aurora! Can you believe it!?” Priya clapped with a smile.
Kamilah spit her drink out, more than likely staining her carpet, but she wasn’t worried about that. “What!? Why was she there?”
“Official council business according to Adrian. I suppose it’s safe to say our secrets out. She knows about us.”
“Damnit Adrian!” Kamilah yelled. “How? How did she find out? And why is Adrian showing her our world! It’s too dangerous for her!” Kamilah stomped back and forth across her living room, “He’s so reckless sometimes!”
Priya just watched on with her smirk, not really wanting to add fuel to the fire, “Kamilah darling? Please sit you’re making me nervous.”
Oh man Kamilah was furious at Adrian. It was bad enough she slept with the girl and now has to face her almost daily as punishment, but now the said girl knows that she is a vampire!
“God she must think I’m a freak now.” Kamilah moaned as she sat, burying her face in her hands.
That was all Priya needed to hear and see from the vampire queen, “Kamilah? You really care about this mortal don’t you?” She said soft and caring, a tone that convinced Kamilah that she cared.
“What gave it away?” She asked answering the question.
“Look around you, this place is a dump Kamilah! I know how you get when you’re mad at yourself. And did you even go to work today? I swear for a woman that doesn’t age, you look like shit.”
“What are you getting at?” Kamilah said defeated, not caring on her appearance anymore.
“I’m telling you to go talk to her dummy! You haven’t got ass in over a century and when you finally did, you got attached and ran because you’re use to solitude and that’s normal. Just tell her the situation and why you ran, I’m sure she’ll understand.”
Kamilah sat there for the first time emotionally unstable. She was pissed at Adrian, mad at herself for being guarded, head over heels for a mortal and now confused on why Priya was giving her a heart to heart, “What did you do with the real Priya?” She teased.
Priya smiled momentarily, “We all need someone in our life Kamilah. I know you’ve been around since forever ago, but no one is complete until they find their true partner, it’s a whole other life to live.”
Why was Priya right?! Kamilah thought about what Priya just said and finally made a decision, “I’ll talk to her tomorrow.”
“Good, cause if you don’t want her, I’ll gladly take her. I just gotta pry her away from Adrian.” Priya finally teased striking a nerve in Kamilah.
“I will murder you both if you touch her. Now please get out of my house.”

HERE’S AN AGE CHART of my muses, from youngest to oldest, ranging from six years old to before the creation of the earth itself. However, keep in mind that all the muses are placed due to a canon / default status, ie in Audaces Fortuna Juvat, Yuki Shiro is sixteen where he is around the time of participating in the Chunin Exams despite being four years older than Momoka, while Uchiha Momoka, in her default verse, is twenty eight years old, despite being four years younger than Shiro, and Shiro would be older than her at this time, and that timelines technically can make a character far older than other despite being the same age in their default canon ie Merida, as she was born pre-Roman Empire Britannia, would be far older, than say, Rapunzel, who was living in the late Medieval Period, who is the same age in her default canon.

Il sangue cremisi della propria vittima le ricopre il volto, le mani, le braccia, le gambe, i vestiti. Aurora è completamente imbrattata, sprofondata in quello che è un liquido dai colori sgargianti e dal piacevole calore. L'unica parte del corpo rimasta intatta della propria vittima è il volto, il volto di un uomo che sicuramente non ha più di cinquant'anni. Sente scorrere dentro di sé un pizzico di risentimento, eppure il piacere che le riscalda le membra lo surclassa di gran lunga — tant'è che è costretta a trattenersi, per non scoppiare in una piacevole & musicale risatina. Quando s'issa finalmente in piedi è costretta a far scricchiolare le ginocchia, eppure neanche ciò la ferma: imperterrita, e alla luce di un neon, inizia a camminare in direzione del proprio appartamento. E' una figura longilinea, muscolosa, quella che la blocca a metà strada. Le sopracciglia corvine d'Aurora s'increspano, s'inclinano verso l'alto, ed è questa l'unica risposta che da a quella mano piuttosto grande che s'è allungata e l'ha afferrata per un braccio. « Signorina, sta bene? » son le parole che risuonano nella notte, a cui però non arriva nessuna risposta. La fanciulla di sangue, infatti, si limita semplicemente ad inclinare le labbra rosee in un innocente sorriso — prima di scattare in avanti e far sua un'altra anima, un altro corpo, la vita di qualcuno che magari non merita di morire nel più atroce dei modi. Eppure, / lei / non ci bada. ‧ ( © ) ━ text ;

ILLEGIBLE’S TOTALLY SUBJECTIVE FAVORITE EORZEA COLLECTION DESIGNS: FEMALE
I’ve mentioned in the past, the main thing that made me start playing FFXIV properly was seeing people’s character designs. I’m still honestly blown away by the creativity and range of approaches people bring to this game, so I’ve decided to be an absolute madwoman and break my favorites into subcategories to share with anyone curious.
NOTE: In an abundance of caution, I want to stress this list isn’t a value judgment on anyone but a fragment of things that blew me personally away.
Also, I was originally going to make a single post that went over male and female options presented in the character creator but straight up tumblr wouldn’t let me save because it got too big. You can see the male character post here.
Without further ado, let us begin.

Chapter Reviews: May 28-June 1, 2019
Wishful Thinking Chapter 8:
Emus! I'm so glad they finally appear! And the entire scene with them is simply funny and worth it. Pete's an uttee nutcase, though an entertaining one as well. The premium scene with Emi is so adorable that I want to see the emus again in future chapters.
Glad I get to show Alec who's boss. This guy should just stop treating his employees like crap. If only I could have him replaced by someone better (not Ellen, though), that would be better.
I'm glad I finally get to hang out with Anna outside of work. Most of her appearances have her and the MC doing their jobs, so a casual chat about the emu incident feels refreshing. And Charlie's office getting trashed means something fishy is going on, probably someone opposed to him like Ellen, though I could be wrong. Since the summary for Chapter 10 sounds like Anna has some secrets to share, it seems that something is up with Charlie. He's really fishy.
A Courtesan of Rome Chapter 19:
Another exciting chapter that kept me hooked like the previous one. I was worried what Cingerix might do to the MC, so I picked the premium option to talk him out of serving Caesar. I think doing so results in the MC and Victus having a positive opinion on Cingerix, who helped his sister escape as a result.
It was fun to watch MC train under her dad and Euthymios in preparation for the gladiator match, and Cingerix developing feelings for Euthymios. If only I can get my hands on Flavius for killing Locusta and poisoning the MC, my life would've been complete. At least there was Delphinia to pray for her daughter's safety, though the MC should really be more defiant towards Flavius.
Anyway, with my anger gone from me, it was satisfying to watch my MC deliver a speech gearing public opinion against Caesar. Even more so with Sabina chanting with the crows.
Man, I can't wait for the final chapters. Especially now that the MC has told the news about Cingerix's change of heart to Delphinia.
Passport to Romance Chapter 12:
I'm just sick of Elliot and William bickering that I want to shove them inside a room to sort out their own messes. On to the regatta.
As expected, the folks there are so snotty that I can just roll my eyes. I get that Sumire has to develop as an artist, and taking criticism is an important part of it (hence me telling her that it's a learning experience), but the impression Bronwyn gave did nothing to endear me to her. Same goes to Carlisle, whom I dislike more for talking like money's the only thing that matters. Either way, who cares about these two? I didn't spend diamonds to steal Carlisle's champagne, though. :P
So Elliot just got his entire friends in trouble by placing a huge bet on a losing boat? Well, thanks a lot, loser! I swear, Elliot keeps blowing his chances to make meaningful contributions to the group that it pisses me off to no end. The only times he did that were to provide the group a place to stay in Lucerne and a private plane to fly them to Monaco. However, their stay in Lucerne doesn't make sense when they could directly go to Germany from France, and Elliot just waited until they missed the second flight to reveal that his family owns the airline of the missed flights. I seriously question his usefulness. As for Marisa, she better not lose all that money from betting Carlisle.
Nightbound Chapter 7:
Why are there options to be mean to Vera for no reason while ignoring the fact that she saved MC from a zombie? I get that her power is deadly, but she used it for good, and had no intention to harm others. Let's hope others will warm up to her.
Heh, no surprise Lady Smoke is Vera's mom. I stumbled upon a theory @a-whore-of-rome came up with, though much of the information involves Vera's first premium scene, followed by the mention of Lady Smoke as a mobster. And wow! Vera and her mom are complete opposites. I think Lady Smoke kinda has a point that they shouldn't live in fear because of their powers. After all, their power to kill others with their bare hands isn't necessarily a curse, but can come in handy depending on the user and their intents. I think Lady Smoke lets this power get in her head that she largely uses it for her benefit. A pity I didn't get her monster tear, but I certainly have plans to get it.
A premium scene to talk to Priya Lacroix. Pass, at least for now. I make no secret why I hate Priya, even though spending time with a love interest sounds like something I'd do once I know who my LI will be. For the time being, none of the love interests capture my attention.
Platinum Chapters 1-2:
First impressions-wise, the story seems OK. I don't like the clichéd bits (small town girl gets picked up by a star), but there's still hope for something else. Super glad that my MC gets to wear glasses as a regular accessory, rather than as part of another outfit. After all, I also wear glasses. And not to mention that the fanbase meter and that certain actions can cause the MC to lose fans looks like a good mechanism that prevents an immediate rise to fame cliché.
Interesting that both Avery and Raleigh can be either male or female, depending on player choices. For Avery, I picked the female one because she's so pretty. The male one's eyes look dopey, but that's just personal impression. Raleigh's harder because both choices look good, though I ended up picking the female one. It's probably not final, though.
Heh, I know Ryder from AME would make a cameo appearance in this story, and it seems that he's in his element. Also, Shane is a good friend to have so far. It's a blessing.
What is it with PB and its affinity with the rival girl cliché? I get that Jaylen isn't a saint, but this cliché discourages players to view characters with proper nuance and understand their roles in the story. After all, an important part of evaluating characters is to not let biases on certain "types" hinder one's thinking.
Anyway, let's see how this story developes.
Open Heart Chapter 16:
Honestly, I really don't like the fact that the MC acts friendly towards Landry even though the way he sabotaged the MC involved disrupting patient care. Because of this, I continued picking options that don't give him credit. Not once did he feel remorse over sabotaging the MC and putting patients at risk. It's like the situation with Sebastian in The Sophomore all over again. Forced to forgive someone who not only expressed no remorse for their wrongdoing but also forgetting that what he did are illegal, dangerous, and degrading. It doesn't help that his sabotage of the boiler is enough to erase sympathy for him.
That aside, I finally get to work with Ethan on Naveen, and it seems that Ethan is more open on his respect for MC. That seems reassuring, especially since I giggled at him saying that his middle name's Jonah after the MC saying Ethan "Freaking" Ramsey.
Seeing Aurora wish the MC luck was nice and calming. I'm proud of her taking the initiative of being nice towards the person who consoled her. It doesn't erase her flaws, such as her overconfidence when she downplayed a case as "not interesting", but I'm ready to see her slowly warming up to others and learn that all patients are interesting in their own way.
Man, I can't believe the next chapter is the finale. I won't be surprised the MC will win and keep their medical license, followed by a little celebration that involves premium options to spend time with a love interest.
Bloodbound Chapter 3:
Too bad that it costs diamonds to actually have fun in Vegas in order to blow off some steam in preparation for meeting with Landgon. Well, I'm not super tempted to buy them because my LI is neither Adrian nor Lily, though I like them both.
Anyway, on to meeting Langdon. I knew this guy's shady, but to see him keeping various supernatural beings alive sickens me. Even more so when he planned to keep MC and co. as part of his collection.
So the cameo comes from Cal. Well, not surprising, and I'm just scared at what might happen to him.
And Lily saying "to defeat the Huns" is what I need to cheer me up and lighten my mood. Despite being a vampire, she always stays true to herself and helps in any way she can. I have great confidence she'll be a great assistant to Jax.
Regarding the second flashback, I feel bad at Adrian killing the Confederate soldiers, though I wonder if that scene has changes depending on his appearance. And Gaius just reminds me how ruthless and creepy he is despite having another side to him in the previous chapter. He's shaping up to be a villain I like.
