WMMAP animation announced at KKWorld2022

Ending this series of posts with the biggest piece of news: A WMMAP animation has been announced by Kuaikan Manhua, showing three still images of what seems to be scenery from Obelia, Claude at the debutante, and Lucas and Athy holding hands.

Please keep your expectations in check, as no dates have been given yet, and there was a similar announcement from Kuaikan on August from 2021 with no more updates (this could be the same project). We also don't know what Kuaikan means by animation, it could be a short PV or a full donghua. However, this is the first time we have been given actual pictures of the animation, with an official post made by the company showing them off. Additionally, there has been a lot of interest in a WMMAP anime, the series ranking n°2 in AnimeJapan's survey of manga people want to see animated. So let's keep our fingers crossed for more good news!

One thing I've noticed about athy is that ruby seems to be her official gemstone, I wonder if spoon is doing it for the purpose of making a reference to Diana or Lucas

There are way more examples, I just got a little lazy...

You are right! Athy is always wearing blue or red jewelry (they are really her colors). In turn, almost all jewelry Lucas has worn is blue. I find that super cute, even if it may be unintentional in some cases (but others are definitely made to match each other, especially in the romantic scenes). They wear jewelry in the color of each other's eyes!

And I think the small red tear drops Athy wore in her debutante and coronation could be definitely a reference to Diana's bindis. When Spoon talked about their meaning, she mentioned how they are supposed to prevent misfortune (though they have a lot of other religious and cultural significances), so maybe Athy wore them for good luck on such big days for her.

Volumes 8 and 9 came home! And with that, this is my last mini review of the physical volumes... unless I decide to buy the german limited edition.

The in-between chapters illustrations are absolutely gorgeous. Love the Athy in pants, it's a refreshing look on her (also confirms that Athy practices horseback riding?). But the Athy on the right... I'm speechless. She looks like Princess Serenity, or a goddess of victory. Perhaps the most beautiful art in the whole manhwa. I'll post some high quality pictures of her soon!

I had kind of forgotten the last volume had the romance arc, reading these chapters again was so fun. I freaked out a lot.

Athy's coronation... Yes, I teared up again.

My mini review: The art is so, so good, these pictures don't do it justice. You can tell Spoon put her whole heart and soul into making the edits even prettier than the original version. If you have the means to buy the physical volumes, I 100% recommed it! Super worth it.

Spoon's comment for the final volume: « Thank you for watching Athy grow to the end. The story is over, but I believe that everyone in WMMAP will live happily ever after. »

A fun fact included in one of Spoon's author notes: The flowers in the cover of volume 8 aren't daisies but Rudbeckias, and they mean "eternal happiness".
