every time i see someone hate danny from evil dead rise w a fiery passion just bc he's some dumbass teenager who accidentally summoned demons i wonder if the person posting it has seen the original series - not in a mean gatekeepy way, but in a "however dumb danny is, i promise you ash is ten times dumber" way.

the entire opening conflict of ash vs evil dead is that ash accidentally brought the deadites back Again bc he got stoned and read from the necronomicon ex mortis Again despite knowing exactly what would happen. if you hate danny for accidentally dooming his family, you'll absolutely DESPISE ash for dooming the entire world several times over and then almost deciding not to save it. i love the guy, but he's a fucking moron. a little infuriating dumbassery is part of the evil dead charm, it simply wouldn't be the same without it

ash from the evil dead is truly guys of all time. he's having the worst 3 days ever. regular college loser forcibly made final girl. did TWO nights in a row with unprecedented Horrors beyond imagination. chainsawed off his own hand. his girlfriend has changed actresses three times. he got sent to the medieval ages and got pelted with rocks and thrown into a pit all in like 2 hours. survived. he's got a retail job and it's heavily implied he's only alive because he has the power of the customer service Aura. and all this in the first 3 movies alone

hey so fun fact that brings me unreasonable amounts of joy: if you google "ash williams" - nothing else, just his name - and look at images, then one of the first things to pop up is a pic of ash in front of the trans pride flag, as the cover image of an entire article abt why he's so popular with transmascs. i somehow always forget this, and therefore experience the pure joy it brings me anew whenever i google-images him for whatever reason

Ever since Ash met you after invading the already invaded cabin in the woods, he couldn’t help but immediately notice how groovy you were. When things got tense and it felt like even the mighty Ash Williams couldn’t save himself, you picked up the heaviest, most brutal and or humiliating “weapon” you could find and beat the shit out of any deadite in your way. Ash would even call you his “final girl”, seeing as no matter how much shit would happen to you and Ash, your creativity would still thrive and leave you standing in a pool of demon guts…

You give Ashley his gun back, after you beat the shit out of a deadite with the non-loaded gun. “Sheila, I don’t know if it’s the blood from the demon you just absolutely demolished, or the lighting… but you look really hot right now.” He smirks as he loads his shotgun back into its holster before letting out an airy laugh.

…No matter what, Ash would always be there to stare at your badassery… and probably your ass too, let’s be honest. In every seeming pause in the, what seemed endless, barrage of deadites, Ash would be there to flirt circles around you wether you flirted back or just gave him the cold shoulder for being an idiot…

“You know, Sheila, besides all the… blood- this is still a good cabin” he leans on the nearby table and winks at you. “Good luck with that, Ashley.” You begin to walk away, “Oh I don’t need luck hun, I already got everything you could ever want.” He smirks as he trails behind you, enjoying the view.

…And even when things are tough as hell, and you think even you can’t save yourself, at the end of the day…

“You’re still my Sheila” ❤️
